Abstract

The article focuses on the randomized study in Japan on acupuncture intervention for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), said to be the world's third leading cause of death. The study involving patients under standard medication showed acupuncture as safe and effective in improving dyspnea on exertion (DOE) symptoms in COPD patients.
