Communication is a skill that people have used since ancient times. Although communication differs in terms of its features in the process, it can be basically defined as the ability to understand and explain. The concept of "writing" has a special place in the skill of telling. Because the development of civilizations has generally been thanks to written culture. Knowledge and culture have been transferred to future generations through writings and have preserved their importance until today. The aim of this study is to examine the 6th grade students' ability to express their feelings, thoughts, dreams and impressions in writing, considering the importance of writing skills, in terms of various variables. In this direction, the case study design, one of the qualitative research methods, was preferred in the study. The research group of the study consists of 75 students at the 6th grade level in a state secondary school located in the southeast of Turkey and 5 Turkish teachers working in the same institution. In the data collection process of the study, firstly, a text with a free theme was written to the students. The data obtained from these texts were analyzed with the writing skill level determination rubric prepared by Bahşi (2018). In addition, student writings were evaluated in accordance with the scoring directive by using the attitude scale developed by Can and Ünal (2017) to determine the students' attitudes towards writing. Then, semi-structured interviews were conducted with Turkish teachers. In these interviews, teachers' opinions were taken on the variables that affect the students' writing skill levels. When the findings obtained from the study were interpreted, it was seen that the students' writing skill levels were not sufficient, but their attitudes towards writing were positive. In addition, this situation was affected by teacher, student, program and environment variables as a whole. However, it is seen that the environment variable negatively affects the level of writing skill in a dominant way.

Grammar is a discipline of study that investigates language in terms of sound, form, and sentence structure and establishes rules for these. Grammar instruction comprises exercises that help students comprehend a language's sounds, forms, and sentence patterns to utilize it efficiently and correctly. As a result, grammar instruction may be viewed as an area that assists pupils in developing good comprehension and expression abilities. According to European Language Portfolio, grammar is a collection of principles that assist fundamental abilities such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Grammar education's goal in this respect is not to make individuals memorize rules but to help them grasp and apply them to their comprehension and expression abilities. Texts have a crucial role in teaching grammar through implication in this scenario. The text has been regarded as a communication unit due to contemporary linguistics. Language structures are text-creation tools. As a result, language instruction should take this into account. The aim of this study is to investigate the extent to which reading texts used in teaching Turkish to foreigners convey grammar functions. In this study, the reading texts of the New Istanbul Turkish Textbook for International Students (B1-B2) and the New Hitit Turkish Textbook for Foreigners (B1-B2) have been comparatively examined to determine the extent to which they reflect the taught grammar functions. This research aims to investigate the tendencies of the studies conducted on anxiety in Turkish language teaching. The object of investigation of the research, which is confined only to four basic language skills, consists of graduate dissertations and articles published between 2010-2019. The document review method is applied in the study. According to the findings, it was found that most studies on anxiety were prepared as research articles; a significant increase has been in research in the last five years and the studies are mostly based on writing and speaking rather than basic language skills. As for the models used in the studies, it was determined that survey-model studies are predominant, and secondary school students, undergraduate students and foreign students are the most preferred sample groups. It was observed that the number range between 1-100 was the most preferred number of students samples. In the studies conducted on the effects of various variables on anxiety, it was determined that the gender and grade level variables were examined more than other variables. Doktora Tezi, Bu araştırmanın amacı, Filistin'de öğrenim gören ilkokul 4. sınıf Arapça dersi öğretim programının PIRLS standartlarını ne düzeyde karşıladığını incelemektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2021-2022 eğitim-öğretim yılında Filistin'de yer alan Gazze Şeridi valiliklerindeki devlet okullarındaki dördüncü sınıflarda derse giren Arapça öğretmenleri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemi ise bu öğretmenler arasından rastgele seçilen 248 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Betimsel tarama modelinin kullanıldığı araştırmada öğretmenlerin görüşlerini belirlemek için PIRLS standartları doğrultusunda ölçek hazırlanmıştır. Arapça ders kitabının içeriğine PIRLS standartlarının ne ölçüde dahil edildiği konusunda öğretmenlerin bakış açısını tespit edebilmek için PIRLS standartlarına dayalı bir ölçek hazırlanmıştır. Ölçek maddeleri, PIRLS Arapça Dil İçeriği Standart Listesi maddelerinden alınmıştır. Ölçeğin hazırlanmasında program geliştirme uzmanlarından ve alan uzmanlarından yardım alınmıştır. Araştırmacı, uzmanlara danıştıktan sonra dört ana başlık altında sınıflandırılan 64 PIRLS standardı olduğu sonucuna varmıştır. Bunlar; açık bir şekilde ifade edilmiş bilgi ve fikirlerin üzerinde durma ve çıkarımlar yapma, doğrudan çıkarımlar yapma, fikir ve bilgileri birleştirme ve yorumlama ve metnin ögelerini, içeriğini ve dilini inceleme ve değerlendirme başlıklarından oluşmaktadır. Dört boyuttan oluşan bu ölçek öğretmenlere uygulanmadan önce bakanlıktan gerekli izinler alınmış ve ölçek öğretmenlere elektronik bir ortam aracılığıyla gönderilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler istatistiksel analiz paket programıyla analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin analizi için Pearson korelasyon katsayısı, Spearman-Brown korelasyon katsayısı ve Cronbach's Alpha korelasyon katsayısından yararlanılmıştır. Verilerin analiziyle elde edilen bulgulara bakıldığında; dördüncü sınıf düzeyinde okutulan Arapça dil kitabının PIRLS standartlarına uygunluğunun öğretmenlerce yüksek düzeyde bulunduğu tespit edilmiştir. Alan bazında bakıldığında ise; dördüncü alanın (metnin ögelerini, içeriğini ve dilini inceleme ve değerlendirme) PIRLS 2021 standartlarına göre yüksek düzeyde, birinci alanın (açık bir şekilde ifade edilmiş bilgi ve fikirlerin üzerinde durma ve çıkarımlar yapma) ise IEA tarafından belirlenen yüzdeye yakın olduğu saptanmıştır. İkinci alanın (doğrudan çıkarımlar yapma) ve üçüncü alanın (fikir ve bilgileri birleştirme ve yorumlama) ise belirlenen standarttan düşük olduğu belirlenmiştir. Dördüncü sınıf Arapça dersine giren öğretmenlerin bakış açılarından ise; öğretmenlerin dördüncü sınıf Arapça ders programını birinci ve ikinci boyutlarda PIRLS standartlarına göre orta düzeyde yeterli gördükleri, üçüncü ve dördüncü boyutlarda ise yetersiz gördükleri söylenebilir. Alanyazın ışığında tartışılan sonuçların ardından son olarak araştırmacı diğer araştırmacılara ve politika yapıcılara yönelik öneriler sunmuştur. Çalışmanın daha sonra yapılacak çalışmalara yol göstereceğine inanılmaktadır., The study aims to find out the extent to which the Arabic language curriculum for the fourth grade of primary school in Palestine has PIRLS standards. The study population consists of Arabic language teachers for the fourth grade at schools in the governorates of the Gaza Strip in Palestine in the scholastic year 2021-2022. The study sample consisted of 248 teachers who were randomly selected. The researcher used the descriptive method. Two tools were prepared for the first measurement to analyze the Arabic language curriculum for the fourth grade in terms of the PIRLS standards. The second tool is by knowing the opinions of Arabic language teachers about the extent to which the Arabic language textbook include the PIRLS standards. The sub-indicators for the main areas of the PIRLS standards were built by looking at relevant research and taking the opinions of experts in curriculum development, education supervisors, university professors, and teachers of the required stage. After consulting the experts, the researcher concluded that there are 64 PIRLS standards classified under four main headings. These consist of retrieving information, drawing direct conclusions in the text, interpreting and integrating ideas and information, and evaluating and criticizing text elements and content. Before applying this scale, which consists of four dimensions, upon teachers. The necessary permits were obtained from the Ministry and the scale was sent to teachers via e-mail by the Ministry of Education. The obtained data were analyzed using spss software. Pearson's correlation coefficient, Spearman-Brown correlation coefficient and Cronbach's alpha correlation coefficient were used to analyze the data. The following results were obtained; The Arabic textbook taught in Grade 4 has been met with PIRLS standards at a high level by teachers. The fourth domain (examination and evaluation of elements, content and language of the text) got a high level according to PIRLS 2021 standards, and the first domain (focus on information and its retrieval process) was close to the percentage set by the International Agency (IEA). It was decided that the second domain (reaching direct conclusions in the text) and the third domain (interpreting and integrating ideas and information) got less than the specified standard. From the point of view of teachers of the Arabic language for the fourth basic grade; It can be said that teachers consider the fourth-grade Arabic curriculum in Dimensions 1 and 2 as moderate and appropriate according to PIRLS standards and insufficient in Dimensions 3 and 4. Finally, after discussing the results, the present researcher recommended a set of suggestions to researchers and curriculum designers. The study is expected to be a pathway to other related studies.

Araştırmanın amacı, ortaokul Türkçe ders kitaplarında metin türü olarak kullanılan çizgi romanları tema, karakter nitelikleri, hangi metin türünün çizgi romana dönüştürüldüğü ve etkinlikler gibi değişkenler açısından incelemek ve çizgi romanlara ait etkinliklerin hangi dil becerilerini geliştirdiğini tespit etmektir. Çalışma, doküman analizi kullanılarak desenlenmiş, araştırmacılar tarafından incelenecek Türkçe ders kitaplarının hâlihazırda kullanılıyor olmasına dikkat edilmiş ve incelenen ders kitaplarının sınıf ayrımı yapılmaksızın tamamında çizgi roman türüne rastlanmıştır. Çizgi romanların büyük çoğunluğunun “Millî Kültürümüz” ile “Bilim ve Teknoloji” temalarında bulunduğu tespit edilmiştir. Çizgi romanlarda bulunan kahramanların ise aydın ve ideal olarak betimlendiği saptanmıştır. Okuma metni olarak yer alan çizgi romanlara yönelik etkinliklerde geliştirilmesi en fazla hedeflenen becerinin okuma becerisi olduğu saptanmıştır. Çizgi romanların etkinlikleri incelendiğinde dinleme becerisine ait etkinliğin olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Konuşma becerisinin yanı sıra anlatmaya dayanan bir dil becerisi olan yazma becerisinin de özellikle 6. sınıflarda geliştirilmesi hedeflenmektedir. Sonuç olarak yapılan araştırmada, Türkçe ders kitaplarında yer alan çizgi romanların büyük çoğunluğunun iki temada yer aldığı ve bahsi geçen çizgi romanların etkinliklerinin geçiş sıklığı açısından sırasıyla okuma, konuşma ve yazma becerilerini geliştirmeye yönelik tasarlandığı görülmektedir. Araştırma kapsamında elde edilen bulgulardan yola çıkılarak Türkçe derslerinde eğitici ve nitelikli çizgi romanlara, tüm dil becerilerinin geliştirilmesi sürecinde bir metin türü olarak yer verilmesi, bunun için de bir öğretim materyali olarak uzmanlarca hazırlanmış nitelikli çizgi romanların kullanılması gerekmektedir., The aim of the research is to examine the comics used as a text type in secondary school Turkish textbooks in terms of variables such as themes, character qualities, transformed genres and activities, and to determine which basic language skills the activities of comics develop. The study was designed using document analysis, attention was paid to the fact that the Turkish textbooks to be examined by the researchers were already being used, and comics were found in all of the textbooks examined, regardless of class. It was determined that the majority of the comics are on the themes of "Our National Culture" and "Science and Technology". It has been determined that the heroes in the comics are depicted as intellectuals and ideals. It was seen that the heroes in the comics are depicted as intellectuals and ideals. In addition, it has been observed that almost all of the examined comics are reading texts. It has been determined that the skill that is aimed to be developed the most in the activities for the comics, which are included as reading texts, is the reading skill. When the activities of the comics were examined, it was determined that there was no activity related to the listening skill. In addition to speaking skill, it is aimed to develop writing skill, which is a language skill based on narrative, especially in 6th grades. As a result, in the research conducted, it is seen that the majority of the comics in Turkish textbooks take place in two themes and the activities of the mentioned comics are designed to improve reading, speaking and writing skills, respectively, in terms of frequency of transition. Based on the findings obtained within the scope of the research, it is necessary to include educational and qualified comics in Turkish lessons as a type of text in the development of all language skills, and for this, qualified comics prepared by experts should be used as a teaching material.

Bu araştırma Iğdır ili sınırları içerisinde öğrenim gören ve ana dili Türkçe olmayan iki dili ortaokul öğrencilerinin Türkiye öğrenimlerinin dört temel dil becerisi ve dil bilgisi bağlamında öğrenci görüşlerinden yola çık olarak incelenmesi ve değerlendirilmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırma nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama modeli ile yapılmıştır. Verileri toplamak için uzman görüşü alınarak hazırlanan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler içerik analizi yöntemi ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma yapılabilmesi için Nevşehir Hacıbektaş Veli Üniversitesi Etik Kurulundan ve Iğdır İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğünden gerekli izinler alınmıştır. Iğdır ili içerisindeki üç farklı okulda eğitim- öğretime devam eden 150 öğrenci ile görüşme yapılmıştır. Öğrenciler 15 sorudan oluşan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formundaki sorulara cevap vermişlerdir. Elde edilen görüşlerin ardından tema ve bölümler belirlenmiştir. Veriler yazıya geçirilirken öğrencilerin görüşlerinden doğrudan alıntılar yapılmıştır. Görüş bildiren öğrencilerin her birine ''Ö'' kodu verilmiş. Öğrenciler ''Ö1, Ö2,Ö3,Ö4...'' şeklinde sıralanmıştır. Bulgular tablolaştırılıp yorumlanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda öğrencilerin birçoğunun iki dilli olduğu ve bu iki dilin birbiriyle her konuda iç içe geçmiş halde olduğu görülmüştür. Evlerinde Kürtçe ve Türkçenin beraber konuşulduğunu söyleyen öğrenciler fazladır. Ana dilleri Kürtçe olan öğrencilerin hemen hemen hepsinin çoğunlukla Türkçe konuştukları görülmüştür. Toplumsal hayatta Türkçenin hâkim dil olması, öğrencilerin sıklıkla Türkçe konuşmalarının hem nedeni hem sonucudur. Kürtçenin genellikle ev ve aile dili, Türkçenin ise bir okul ve kamusal alan dili olduğu görülmüştür. Öğrencilerin iki dillilerin yaptığı gibi çeşitli dil yanlışları, kod değiştirmeleri, olumlu ve olumsuz aktarımlar yaptıkları tespit edilmiştir. This research was carried out in order to examine and evaluate the Turkish Language Learning of secondary school students whose mother tongue is not Turkish and who study in the province of Iğdır, based on student opinions in the context of four basic language skills and grammar. The research was conducted with the scanning model, one of the qualitative research methods. A semi-structured interview form prepared by taking expert opinion was used to collect the data.The obtained data were analyzed by content analysis method. Necessary permissions were obtained from Nevşehir Hacıbektaş Veli University Ethics Committee and Iğdır Provincial Directorate of National Education in order to conduct the research. Interviews were conducted with 150 students who currently study in three different secondary schools in the province of Iğdır. The students answered the questions in the semi-structured interview form consisting of 15 questions. After the opinions obtained, themes and sections were determined. While the data was being written down, direct quotations were made from the students' opinions. Each of the students who expressed their opinions was given the "Ö" code. Students are listed as "Ö1, Ö2, Ö3, Ö4...". The findings were put into the related charts and then interpreted. As a result of the research, it was seen that most of the students were bilingual and these two languages were intertwined with each other in every subject. There are many students who say that Kurdish and Turkish are spoken simultaneously at home. It has been observed that almost all of the students whose mother tongue is Kurdish mostly speak Turkish.Moreover,it has been seen that Kurdish is the language generally spoken at home and among family members, while Turkish is mainly spoken at school and in public.
