In Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy micro-machining, since the uncut chip thickness (UCT) is comparable to the radius of the tool cutting edge, there exists a minimum uncut chip thickness (MUCT), and when the UCT is smaller than the MUCT, the plowing effect dominates the cutting process, which seriously affects the machined surface quality and tool life. Therefore, the reliable prediction of the MUCT is of great significance. This paper used Deform to establish an orthogonal cutting simulation model, studied the effect of the dead metal zone (DMZ) on the micro-cutting material flow, determined the DMZ range, and proposed a new method for determining the MUCT based on the DMZ. Cutting experiments were conducted to verify the accuracy of the simulation model firstly by cutting force, and then confirming the accuracy of the DMZ-based MUCT determination method through chip analysis and surface quality analysis. Finally, the effects of different cutting conditions on DMZ and MUCT were further investigated using the proposed DMZ-based MUCT determination method. The results show that the MUCT of Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy is 4.833 μm for a tool cutting edge radius of 40 μm and a cutting speed of 10 m/min. The DMZ boundary can be used as the boundary of micro-cutting plastic deformation, and the ratio of MUCT to cutting edge radius, hp/rn will gradually decrease with the increase in the tool cutting edge radius and the cutting speed. Time reversal has enabled many fundamental breakthroughs through the exquisite control over the complex systems. More recently, time reversal is predicted to be capable of enhancing the quantum sensing in unprecedented ways. Here, we report the experimental demonstration of time reversal based on a unitary and orthogonal squeezing interaction in an optical domain. Two cascaded degenerate optical parametric amplifiers are used to judiciously achieve a time reversal protocol. Finally, the concept of high-fidelity time reversal is demonstrated in the optical domain, offering remarkable opportunities for investigating many-body simulation and achieving quantum-enhanced sensing. Tool wear state recognition is a challenging problem because the various types of signals corresponding to different wear states have similar features, making classification difficult. Convolutional neural networks are widely used in the field of tool wear state recognition. To address this problem, this study proposes a milling cutter wear state monitoring model that combines KANS and deep residual networks (ResNet). The traditional ResNet-34's top linear classifier was replaced with a nonlinear convolutional classifier including _top_kan, and the data were preprocessed using continuous wavelet transform (CWT) to enhance the model's immunity to interference and feature characterization. The experimental results based on the PHM dataset show that the improved KANS-ResNet-34 model improves accuracy by 1.07% compared to ResNet-34, making it comparable to ResNet-50, while its computation time is only 1/33.68 of the latter. This significantly improves computational efficiency, reduces the pressure on hardware resources, and provides an effective tool wear state recognition solution. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Quantum network scales the advantages of quantum communication protocols to more than two detached users, which offers great potential to realize the quantum internet. Here, a fully connected continuous‐variable (CV) quantum teleportation network architecture is presented, in which a squeezed state of light distributes each pair of entangled sideband modes to each communication link that bridges any pair of users. The quantum teleportation scheme is similar to standard two‐party ones for each communication link, without sacrificing communication capability and reliability. Squeezing transformation as an essential component of quantum information processing, gives rise to the possibility to perform various tasks such as distributed quantum computation and the quantum‐logic gate. However, the reported squeezing gate with best performance so far is realized with low success probability, while the performance of the deterministic ones is currently circumscribed by the limited squeezing degree of the nonclassical ancilla. To address this issue, a new scheme of deterministic and universal quantum squeezing gate with the property of nonlocal operation owing to the teleportation‐like protocol is developed and demonstrated. A high‐fidelity squeezing operation, even when the level of target squeezing being up to 10 dB, is demonstrated where a squeezed state with nonclassical noise reduction of 6.5 dB is directly observed. Moreover, a high‐fidelity complex operation including a Fourier transformation and a phase squeezing gate are performed, exploring the potential of implementing the complex task of quantum information processing with the presented functional unit. An extremely conspicuous passive power noise stabilization is the first, to the best of our knowledge, discovered in a cavity-enhanced second-harmonic generation (SHG) process. Differing from the SHG as a buffer reservoir, the stronger strength of the nonlinear interaction pushes the power noise suppression level to a higher value and exhibits a broadband noise reduction performance due to the mechanism of dynamic pump suppression in the SHG process. The noise is suppressed to near shot noise limit (SNL) among the kHz to MHz frequency range, accompanied by a maximum noise reduction of 35 dB. A comprehensive demonstration indicates that the nonlinear interaction has no function on the phase noise of fundamental and harmonic waves. A theoretical model is also established that is consistent well with the experimental results. The methodology is beneficial to multiple optical metrology experiments.

Quantum entanglement is an important pillar of quantum information processing. In addition to the entanglement degree, the bandwidth of entangled states becomes another focus of quantum communication. Here, by virtue of a broadband frequency-dependent beam splitter, we experimentally demonstrate six pairs of independent entangled sideband modes with maximum entanglement degree of 8.1 dB. Utilizing a time delay compensation scheme, the bandwidth of independent entangled sideband modes is expanded to dozens of megahertz. This work provides a valuable resource to implement efficient quantum information processing.
