Photothermal therapy (PTT) of nanomaterials is an emerging novel therapeutic strategy for breast cancer. However, there exists an urgent need for appropriate strategies to enhance the antitumor efficacy of PTT and minimize damage to surrounding normal tissues. Piezo1 might be a promising novel photothermal therapeutic target for breast cancer. This study aims to explore the potential role of Piezo1 activation in the hyperthermia therapy of breast cancer cells and investigate the underlying mechanisms. Results showed that the specific agonist of Piezo1 ion channel (Yoda1) aggravated the cell death of breast cancer cells triggered by heat stress in vitro. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) production was significantly increased following heat stress, and Yoda1 exacerbated the rise in ROS release. GSK2795039, an inhibitor of NADPH oxidase 2 (NOX2), reversed the Yoda1-mediated aggravation of cellular injury and ROS generation after heat stress. The in vivo experiments demonstrate the well photothermal conversion efficiency of TiCN under the 1,064 nm laser irradiation, and Yoda1 increases the sensitivity of breast tumors to PTT in the presence of TiCN. Our study reveals that Piezo1 activation might serve as a photothermal sensitizer for PTT, which may develop as a promising therapeutic strategy for breast cancer.

The experiment aimed to analyze the differences in the quality of silage feed from annual pasture grasses in the area around Qinghai Lake, to define the nutritional range of different silage feeds, and to select silage feeds suitable for promotion in the area around Qinghai Lake. In this study, four annual forage treatments in the area around Qinghai Lake were used to harvest silage at the heading stage of oats, each treatment was repeated with five replicates, and the silage was sealed in bags for 60 days, and the pH value, nutritional quality and sensory quality of the silage were measured after opening, and the nutritional value and relative feeding value of each treatment were comprehensively evaluated by the grey correlation method. The results showed that the sensory evaluation grades of Avena sativa' Qingyin No. 1' (Q1) and Huayouza 62 + Avena sativa' Qingyin No. 1' (H62 + Q1) treatments were high-quality. The pH value of the seven treatments was between 3.8~4.1. The water content and crude ash content (Ash) of Q1 were significantly lower than those of other treatments (P<0.05), the concentrations of dry matter (DM) and neutral detergent fiber (NDF) were significantly higher than those of other treatments (P<0.05), and the relative feeding value (RFV) of the seven treatments was between 108~141. The relative feeding value (RFV) and dry matter intake (DMI) of Vicia faba L. variety 'Qinghai 13' + Vicia sativa (Q13 + J) silage were significantly higher than those of other treatments (P<0.05).The results showed that the tested annual forage grass could be successfully silaged in the area around Qinghai Lake, and there was no inferior grade in the sensory evaluation of seven treatments, and Q13 + J silage had the highest relative feeding value, the best palatability, and was easier to be eaten by livestock. Objective: This study aims to assess the clinical effectiveness of combining mindfulness‐based stress reduction (MBSR) with exercise intervention in improving anxiety, depression, sleep quality and mood regulation in patients with non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods: A total of 60 patients with NSCLC who had not received surgical treatment were selected using convenience sampling and divided into an intervention group and control group, with 30 patients in each group. The control group received conventional psychological nursing care, whereas the intervention group received a combination of MBwSR and exercise therapy. Before the intervention, a questionnaire was completed to collect the basic data of the two groups. Further questionnaires were administered at 6 and 8 weeks after treatment to assess anxiety, depression, sleep quality and other items included in the five‐item Brief Symptom Rating Scale (BSRS‐5). Results: No significant differences between the intervention and control groups were identified in terms of personal and clinical characteristics (p > 0.05). No significant differences were determined in the BSRS‐5, Self‐Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), Self‐Rating Depression Scale (SDS) or Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) scores between the intervention and control groups before the intervention. However, 6 and 8 weeks after the intervention, scores were significantly lower in both groups (p < 0.001). Significant differences in the BSRS‐5, SAS, SDS and PSQI scores were identified between the two groups at different time points (p < 0.001). Conclusion: The combination of MBSR and exercise intervention demonstrated improvements in anxiety, depression, sleep quality and BSRS‐5 scores in patients with NSCLC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In order to understand the function of cyclophilin family OsCYP22 from Oryza sativa L., the yeast two hybrid bait vector of OsCYP22 was constructed and proteins interacting with OsCYP22 were screened by yeast two hybrid. The results showed that noself-activating activity and toxicity of OsCYP22 bait vector to yeast cells were detected., among which 38 positive colonies were obtained by yeast two hybrid screening. Combining sequencing analysis and bioinformatics methods, 20 candidates that may interact with OsCYP22 were screened. Further validation of the full-length interactions between OsCYP22 and OsCSN5 and OsRUB1 related to the regulation of plant root growth was conducted. The results showed that OsCSN5 interacted with OsCYP22 in yeast. This study provides a theoretical basis for further study of the biological function of OsCYP22. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) have numerous applications in the field of carbon nanomaterials. However, the associated toxicity concerns have increased significantly because of their widespread use. The inhalation of MWCNTs can lead to nanoparticle deposition in the lung tissue, causing inflammation and health risks. In this study, celastrol, a natural plant medicine with potent anti-inflammatory properties, effectively reduced the number of inflammatory cells, including white blood cells, neutrophils, and lymphocytes, and levels of inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α, in mice lungs exposed to MWCNTs. Moreover, celastrol inhibited the activation of the NF-κB-signaling pathway. This study confirmed these findings by demonstrating comparable reductions in inflammation upon exposure to MWCNTs in mice with the deletion of NF-κB (P50−/−). These results indicate the utility of celastrol as a promising pharmacological agent for preventing MWCNT-induced lung tissue inflammation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim: To explore whether and to what extent, nurse–patient assessment differences mediate the association between nurse‐to‐patient ratios and readiness for hospital discharge, and examine whether nurse–patient characteristics moderate the indirect and/or direct effect of mediation model. Design: A cross‐sectional study was carried out from March 2021 to December 2022. Methods: A total of 523 pairs of gastrointestinal cancer patients with PICC and their nurses were recruited. All the participants were invited to complete the general information questionnaire and the Readiness for Hospital Discharge Scale. Outcome measure was patient‐reported readiness for hospital discharge. This study was reported according to the STROBE checklist. Results: The patients reported a low level of readiness for hospital discharge. Nurse–patient assessment differences were positively associated with nurse‐to‐patient ratios but negatively associated with readiness for hospital discharge. Furthermore, nurse–patient assessment differences fully mediated the effect of nurse‐to‐patient ratios on readiness for hospital discharge, and age and gender of patients only moderated the indirect path of mediation model. In this paper, we propose a novel two-degree-of-freedom (TDOF) nonlinear energy harvester without internal resonance to realize broadband harvesting characteristic. To show the performance, a TDOF nonlinear electromagnetic harvester is designed. The electromechanical coupling system is established and solved by adopting the harmonic balance method. The modulation equations are constructed, the first-order harmonic solutions of the system are obtained and the frequency response curves of the displacement and current are plotted. The advantage of the proposed harvester is compared to the conventional single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) nonlinear model and the corresponding TDOF linear system, the results achieve that the proposed scheme can enhance the bandwidth of the harvesting energy. Furthermore, the influences of system parameters on the response are discussed. The accuracy of the first-order harmonic results is revealed by numerical simulations. To further demonstrate the accuracy of analytical solutions, the finite element simulation is constructed in ANSYS finite element analysis (FEA) software. The performance predictions from the analytical solutions are compared with results from FEA. By solving the problems such as the shortage of drainage power in inland rivers and the difficulty of construction land, the integrated gate pump with compact structure and small floor area has received much attention. Among them, the integrated gate pump with larger diameter has a short application time and few examples in China. This paper takes the Salt River Pump Gate Project as the background, uses the three-dimensional parametric calculation model, carries on the design optimization analysis of the door blade thickness, the plate thickness and other parameters, and the reinforcement analysis of the weak parts of the wall pipe and web. At the same time, the key problems such as vibration and anticorrosion of the gate pump are analyzed and demonstrated. The results show that the thickness of the door blade should not increase too much, and the panel and web structure with large separation should be properly strengthened at the same time to control the resonance frequency domain. When the ratio of gate width to height is less than 0.6 and the ratio of the pump outer diameter to gate width is close to 0.5, the plate thickness combination in the range of 12-16 mm should be used. Transverse, longitudinal and diagonal ribs should be considered at the same time for wall pipe reinforcement. Through a dynamic simulation analysis, the design of Salt River Pump Gate can avoid the resonance of the integrated pump gate, and has a certain safety margin. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
