Abstract: Cooling of atomic motion is a crucial tool for many branches of atomic physics, ranging from fundamental physics explorations to quantum information and sensing. For trapped ions, electromagnetically-induced-transparency (EIT) cooling has received attention for the relative speed, low laser power requirements, and broad cooling bandwidth of the technique. However, in applications where the ion used for cooling has hyperfine structure to enable long coherence times, it is difficult to find a closed three-level system in which to perform standard EIT cooling. Here, we demonstrate successful EIT cooling on 25Mg+ by the addition of an extra laser frequency; this method can be applied to any ion with non-zero nuclear spin. Furthermore, we demonstrate simultaneous EIT cooling of all axial modes in mixed-species crystals 9Be+ - 25Mg+ and 9Be+ - 25Mg+ - 9Be+ through the 25Mg+ ion., Comment: 10 pages, 6 figures, 2 tables

2. Searching for bound states in the open strangeness systems

Abstract: Inspired by the recent findings of $Z_{cs}$ and $P_{cs}$ states, we investigate the strong interactions of the systems with open strangeness(es) from the light sector to the heavy sector (no beauty quark), where the interaction potential is derived from the vector meson exchange mechanism in $t$- and $u$-channels. In the current work, we discuss all of single channel cases for the open strangeness in the systemic framework, where the resonances $X_0(2866)$, $D^*_{s0}(2317)$ and $D_{s1}(2460)$ are dynamically generated. 3. Three-body unitary coupled-channel approach to radiative $J/\psi$ decays and $\eta(1405/1475)$

Abstract: Recent BESIII data on radiative $J/\psi$ decays from $\sim 10^{10}$ $J/\psi$ samples should significantly advance our understanding of the controversial nature of $\eta(1405/1475)$. This motivates us to develop a three-body unitary coupled-channel model for radiative $J/\psi$ decays to three-meson final states of any partial wave ($J^{PC}$). Basic building blocks of the model are bare resonance states such as $\eta(1405/1475)$ and $f_1(1420)$, and $\pi K$, $K\bar{K}$, and $\pi\eta$ two-body interactions that generate resonances such as $K^*(892)$, $K^*_0(700)$, and $a_0(980)$. This model reasonably fits $K_SK_S\pi^0$ Dalitz plot pseudo data generated from the BESIII's $J^{PC}=0^{-+}$ amplitude for $J/\psi\to\gamma K_SK_S\pi^0$. The experimental branching ratios of $\eta(1405/1475)\to\eta\pi\pi$ and $\eta(1405/1475)\to\gamma\rho$ relative to that of $\eta(1405/1475)\to K\bar{K}\pi$ are simultaneously fitted. Our $0^{-+}$ amplitude is analytically continued to find three poles, two of which correspond to $\eta(1405)$ on different Riemann sheets of the $K^*\bar{K}$ channel, and the third one for $\eta(1475)$. This is the first pole determination of $\eta(1405/1475)$ and, furthermore, the first-ever pole determination from analyzing experimental Dalitz plot distributions with a manifestly three-body unitary coupled-channel framework. Process-dependent $\eta\pi\pi$, $\gamma\pi^+\pi^-$, and $\pi\pi\pi$ lineshapes of $J/\psi\to\gamma(0^{-+})\to \gamma(\eta\pi\pi)$, $\gamma(\gamma\rho)$, and $\gamma(\pi\pi\pi)$ are predicted, and are in reasonable agreement with data. Abstract: The Super $\tau$-Charm facility (STCF) is an electron-positron collider proposed by the Chinese particle physics community. It is designed to operate in a center-of-mass energy range from 2 to 7 GeV with a peak luminosity of $0.5\times 10^{35}{\rm cm}^{-2}{\rm s}^{-1}$ or higher. The STCF will produce a data sample about a factor of 100 larger than that by the present $\tau$-Charm factory -- the BEPCII, providing a unique platform for exploring the asymmetry of matter-antimatter (charge-parity violation), in-depth studies of the internal structure of hadrons and the nature of non-perturbative strong interactions, as well as searching for exotic hadrons and physics beyond the Standard Model. The STCF project in China is under development with an extensive R\&D program. This document presents the physics opportunities at the STCF, describes conceptual designs of the STCF detector system, and discusses future plans for detector R\&D and physics case studies.

5. Three-Body Unitary Coupled-Channel Analysis on $\eta(1405/1475)$

Abstract: The recent BESIII data on $J/\psi\to\gamma(K_SK_S\pi^0)$, which is significantly more precise than earlier $\eta(1405/1475)$-related data, enables quantitative discussions on $\eta(1405/1475)$ at the previously unreachable level. We conduct a three-body unitary coupled-channel analysis of experimental Monte-Carlo outputs for radiative $J/\psi$ decays via $\eta(1405/1475)$: $K_SK_S\pi^0$ Dalitz plot distributions from the BESIII, and branching ratios of $\gamma(\eta\pi^+\pi^-)$ and $\gamma(\gamma\pi^+\pi^-)$ final states relative to that of $\gamma(K\bar{K}\pi)$. Our model systematically considers (multi-)loop diagrams and an associated triangle singularity, which is critical in making excellent predictions on $\eta(1405/1475)\to \pi\pi\pi$ lineshapes and branching ratios. The $\eta(1405/1475)$ pole locations are revealed for the first time. Two poles for $\eta(1405)$ are found on different Riemann sheets of the $K^*\bar{K}$ channel, while one pole for $\eta(1475)$. The $\eta(1405/1475)$ states are described with two bare states dressed by continuum states. The lower bare state would be an excited $\eta^\prime$, while the higher one could be an excited $\eta^{(\prime)}$, hybrid, glueball, or their mixture. 6. Pole determination of $P_{\psi s}^\Lambda(4338)$ and possible $P_{\psi s}^\Lambda(4255)$ in $B^-\to J/\psi\Lambda\bar{p}$

Abstract: First hidden-charm pentaquark candidate with strangeness, $P_{\psi s}^\Lambda(4338)$, was recently discovered in $B^-\to J/\psi\Lambda\bar{p}$ by the LHCb Collaboration. $P_{\psi s}^\Lambda(4338)$ shows up as a bump at the $\Xi_c\bar{D}$ threshold in the $J/\psi\Lambda$ invariant mass ($M_{J/\psi\Lambda}$) distribution. The $M_{J/\psi\Lambda}$ distribution also shows a large fluctuation at the $\Lambda_c\bar{D}_s$ threshold, hinting the existence of a possible $P_{\psi s}^\Lambda(4255)$. In this work, we determine the $P_{\psi s}^\Lambda(4338)$ and $P_{\psi s}^\Lambda(4255)$ pole positions for the first time. For this purpose, we fit a $B^-\to J/\psi\Lambda\bar{p}$ model to the $M_{J/\psi\Lambda}$, $M_{J/\psi\bar{p}}$, $M_{\Lambda\bar{p}}$, and $\cos\theta_{K^*}$ distributions from the LHCb simultaneously; $\chi^2/{\rm ndf}\sim 1.21$. Then we extract $P_{\psi s}^\Lambda$ poles from a unitary $\Xi_c\bar{D}$-$\Lambda_c\bar{D}_s$ coupled-channel scattering amplitude built in the model. In our default fit, the $P_{\psi s}^\Lambda(4338)$ pole is found at $( 4338.2\pm 1.4)-( 1.9\pm 0.5 )\,i$ MeV while the $P_{\psi s}^\Lambda(4255)$ pole at $4254.7\pm 0.4$ MeV. The $P_{\psi s}^\Lambda(4338)$ and $P_{\psi s}^\Lambda(4255)$ are mostly $\Xi_c \bar{D}$ bound and $\Lambda_c\bar{D}_s$ virtual states, respectively. Through our analysis, the data disfavors a hypothesis of $P_{\psi s}^\Lambda(4338)$ as merely a kinematical effect. 7. Study on the behavior of impurity removal from lithium-iron-phosphate slag using the ultrasonic-assisted sulphuric acid leaching

Abstract: The recovery of iron phosphate from the leaching slag of used lithium iron phosphate cathode materials is a crucial step to achieve closed-loop recovery of lithium iron phosphate, which has not yet been effectively accomplished. In the study, ultrasonic-assisted sulfuric acid leaching was used to remove impurities in the iron phosphate, to meet the stringent impurity content requirements for battery-grade iron phosphate regarding impurity content. Optimization of leaching conditions involved a sulfuric acid concentration of 0.2 mol·L-1, acid-leaching time of 30 min, power of 50 W, and reaction temperature of 80℃. Under these conditions, the removal efficiencies of Cr, Cu, Ni, and Zn in iron phosphate were 26.09%, 83.0%, 75.9%, and 96.3%, respectively. Simultaneously, the content of impurity elements Cr and Zn concurred with the standard for battery-grade iron phosphate (HG/T 4701-2021), with both 50 ppm and 10 ppm contents. The leaching results indicated the effectiveness of ultrasound in enhancing the removal of impurity elements in iron phosphate within a sulfuric acid solution. Further analyses, including XRD, particle size, TEM, and XPS indicated that the surface of the iron phosphate particles cavitated after ultrasonic acid leaching, resulting in the formation of numerous pores. Additionally, particle collisions led to a reduction in particle size, with no generation of by-products during the process. This innovative approach not only contributed to the removal of impurity elements but also provided insights into the reuse of leaching slag (iron phosphate) and offered guidance for the recovery of metals from waste lithium iron phosphate cathode materials.

9. Recovery of Li, Mn, and Fe from LiFePO4/LiMn2O4 mixed waste lithium-ion battery cathode materials

Abstract: The recovery of metals from the cathode material or used lithium-ion batteries is of both environmental and economic importance. In this study, stepwise precipitation by acid leaching was used to separate and recover lithium, iron, and manganese from the mixed LiFePO4/LiMn2O4 cathode material. The thermodynamic properties of the lithium, iron, and manganese metal phases, especially the stability range, were analyzed using Eh-pH diagrams. The leaching system with sulfuric acid and hydrogen peroxide released Fe3+, Mn2+, and Li+ ions from the cathode material. Fe3+ in the leaching solution was precipitated as Fe(OH)3 and finally recovered as Fe2O3 after calcination. Mn2+ in the leaching solution was recovered as MnCO3. The remaining Li+-rich solution was evaporated and crystallized into Li2CO3. The purity of the recycled MnCO3 and Li2CO3 met the standard of cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries. XRD and XPS analysis showed that the main phase in the leaching residue was FePO4. This process can be used to separate and recover metals from mixed waste lithium-ion battery cathode materials, and it also provides raw materials for the preparation of lithium-ion battery cathode materials.

Abstract: The electrical signals generated by an electromechanical coupling mechanism in biomaterials have significant potential applications in the field of biomedical engineering. For example, the piezoelectric- or flexoelectric-induced electrical signals in bone biomaterials play an important role in facilitating self-repair, remodeling, and reshaping processes. Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) has been found to possess excellent mechanical properties and biocompatibility with bone, making it an outstanding choice as an implantable polymer material. It is particularly important to investigate the electromechanical response performance of PEEK materials. In this study, we experimentally examine the flexoelectricity of PEEK and evaluate its effective out-of-plane direct and converse flexoelectric coefficients. Using the piezoresponse force microscopy module of atomic force microscopy, we observe a clear converse flexoelectric effect in a PEEK disk-shaped sample. The effective out-of-plane converse flexoelectric coefficient of the PEEK disk-shaped sample is about μ 3333 eff = 0.21 ± 0.02 nN / V. The effective out-of-plane direct flexoelectric coefficient, determined through the bending experiment of a PEEK cantilever, is f 3113 eff = 17.61 nC/m, which is larger than that of polyvinylidene fluoride and is nearly two orders of magnitude superior over other biomaterials such as bone and hydroxyapatite. This indicates that PEEK materials have even greater potential for development and research in biomedical engineering applications such as intervertebral fusion, bone joint replacement, bone rehabilitation and regeneration, etc. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract: To improve the adsorption capacity of natural zeolite for ammonia nitrogen, zeolite was modified by sodium chloride (NaCl), sodium tungstate (Na2WO4), and sodium citrate (C6H5Na3O7) solutions, and the adsorption characteristics of zeolite before and after modification for ammonia nitrogen in water were studied. The properties and structure of zeolite were characterized and analyzed. The adsorption mechanism of modified zeolite for ammonia nitrogen and the effects of environmental factors on the adsorption were studied. The results showed that the modification of NaCl, Na2WO4, and C6H5Na3O7 increased the adsorption capacity of zeolite by 60.76%, 58.23%, and 54.43%, respectively. The zeolite modified by NaCl solution had the best adsorption effect for ammonia nitrogen. The optimum concentration, temperature, and time of NaCl modifier was 1.5 mol/L, 85, and 12 h. The adsorption of ammonia nitrogen on zeolites before and after modification was more consistent with the pseudo-secondorder kinetic model. Under the conditions of particle size of 60-80 mesh, pH of 7, temperature of 30, and dosage of 10 g/L, the removal rate of ammonia nitrogen by zeolites increased from 54.89% to 90.39% after adsorption of wastewater with initial ammonia nitrogen concentration of 50 mg/L. The adsorption of ammonia nitrogen in wastewater by natural zeolite modified by salt solution is an environmentally friendly and effective method. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

19. Anti‐drug antibodies of IL‐23 inhibitors for psoriasis: a systematic review

Abstract: Anti-drug antibodies (ADAs) can form with certain biological medications, but their clinical significance is not fully understood. ADA formation in psoriasis patients treated with IL-23 inhibitors was evaluated, looking at the incidence of ADAs, impact on clinical outcomes and association with adverse events. A systematic search of PubMed, Cochrane and Embase databases yielded 318 articles, which were manually reviewed. A total of 19 articles met the eligibility criteria. The incidence of ADAs with the IL-23 inhibitors was as follows: 4.1-14.7% with guselkumab, 141-31% with risankizumab and 6.51-18% with tildrakizumab. The incidence of neutralizing antibodies ranged from 01-0.6% with guselkumab, 21-16% with risankizumab and 2.5 to 3.2% with tildrakizumab. There was no evidence of reduced efficacy of psoriasis treatment with ADA presence alone. However, some studies found a reduction in clinical response with high ADA titres or with the presence of neutralizing antibodies. A few studies reported that patients with ADAs to guselkumab and risankizumab had a higher incidence of injection site reactions (ISRs). There do not appear to be other adverse events associated with ADAs with IL-23 inhibitors. Testing for presence of ADAs alone in this patient group does not appear to be predictive of treatment response. Clinically, it may be more productive to test for neutralizing antibodies or ADA titre values, although further investigation is required to show a definitive correlation.

29. Pole determination of $P_{ψs}^Λ(4338)$ and possible $P_{ψs}^Λ(4255)$ in $B^-\to J/ψΛ\bar{p}$

Abstract: First hidden-charm pentaquark candidate with strangeness, $P_{ψs}^Λ(4338)$, was recently discovered in $B^-\to J/ψΛ\bar{p}$ by the LHCb Collaboration. $P_{ψs}^Λ(4338)$ shows up as a bump at the $Ξ_c\bar{D}$ threshold in the $J/ψΛ$ invariant mass ($M_{J/ψΛ}$) distribution. The $M_{J/ψΛ}$ distribution also shows a large fluctuation at the $Λ_c\bar{D}_s$ threshold, hinting the existence of a possible $P_{ψs}^Λ(4255)$. In this work, we determine the $P_{ψs}^Λ(4338)$ and $P_{ψs}^Λ(4255)$ pole positions for the first time. For this purpose, we fit a $B^-\to J/ψΛ\bar{p}$ model to the $M_{J/ψΛ}$, $M_{J/ψ\bar{p}}$, $M_{Λ\bar{p}}$, and $\cosθ_{K^*}$ distributions from the LHCb simultaneously; $χ^2/{\rm ndf}\sim 1.21$. Then we extract $P_{ψs}^Λ$ poles from a unitary $Ξ_c\bar{D}$-$Λ_c\bar{D}_s$ coupled-channel scattering amplitude built in the model. In our default fit, the $P_{ψs}^Λ(4338)$ pole is found at $( 4338.2\pm 1.4)-( 1.9\pm 0.5 )\,i$ MeV while the $P_{ψs}^Λ(4255)$ pole at $4254.7\pm 0.4$ MeV. The $P_{ψs}^Λ(4338)$ and $P_{ψs}^Λ(4255)$ are mostly $Ξ_c \bar{D}$ bound and $Λ_c\bar{D}_s$ virtual states, respectively. Through our analysis, the data disfavors a hypothesis of $P_{ψs}^Λ(4338)$ as merely a kinematical effect. Abstract: The recovery of metals from the cathode material or used lithium-ion batteries is of both environmental and economic importance. In this study, stepwise precipitation by acid leaching was used to separate and recover lithium, iron, and manganese from the mixed LiFePO4/LiMn2O4 cathode material. The thermodynamic properties of the lithium, iron, and manganese metal phases, especially the stability range, were analyzed using Eh-pH diagrams. The leaching system with sulfuric acid and hydrogen peroxide released Fe3+, Mn2+, and Li+ ions from the cathode material. Fe3+ in the leaching solution was precipitated as Fe(OH)3 and finally recovered as Fe2O3 after calcination. Mn2+ in the leaching solution was recovered as MnCO3. The remaining Li+-rich solution was evaporated and crystallized into Li2CO3. The purity of the recycled MnCO3 and Li2CO3 met the standard of cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries. XRD and XPS analysis showed that the main phase in the leaching residue was FePO4. This process can be used to separate and recover metals from mixed waste lithium-ion battery cathode materials, and it also provides raw materials for the preparation of lithium-ion battery cathode materials. Abstract: This review article aims to compare global dermatologic organizations and the clinical practice guidelines available for the use of interleukin (IL)-23 inhibitors in the treatment of psoriasis. A literature review encompassing systemic therapies for the treatment of psoriasis was conducted. Guidelines from the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD)-National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF), the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), and the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) served as the main comparators in this review. Of the American and European guidelines available for use of IL-23 inhibitors, several organizations are in agreement regarding the dosage and indications of guselkumab, tildrakizumab, and risankizumab. However, there are differences as well as insufficient recommendations concerning laboratory monitoring and screenings as well as contraindications to therapy. IL-23 inhibitors are safe and efficacious therapeutic options for patients with psoriasis and should be considered as a potential first-line therapy alone or in combination with topical medications, phototherapy, and other systemic non-biologic agents. Abstract: Currently, no formalized international consensus guidelines exist to direct optimal topical treatment including long-term treatment. In this survey, we aim to examine if and which topicals are used in clinical practice in long-term continuous treatment of psoriasis and how topicals are used in treating specific sites of the body. A questionnaire was distributed electronically to dermatologists from the International Psoriasis Council (IPC) representing 26 countries. The top three topicals used across all severities of disease were topical corticosteroids, vitamin D analogs, and potent topical corticosteroids in combination with vitamin D analogs. On locations where the skin is thin, flexural and genital psoriasis, lower potency topical corticosteroids were used, whereas on other sites, in particular in palmoplantar psoriasis, superpotent topical corticosteroids and combination vitamin D analogs/corticosteroids were used. It is relevant to optimize localized therapy for all severities of psoriasis reconciling disease activity (stable vs. unstable disease), localization of the lesions and the individual patient and his/her perspectives on disease control. 34. [Safety and efficacy analysis of a varicose vein sealant kit in the treatment of great saphenous vein dysfunction].

Abstract: Objective: To investigate the safety and efficacy of a varicose vein sealant kit in the treatment of great saphenous vein dysfunction. Methods: It was a randomized controlled trial. A total of 180 patients with great saphenous vein dysfunction were enrolled prospectively, and scheduled for surgical treatment in 9 hospitals, including the Second Affiliated Hospital of Naval Medical University, Shanghai Oriental Hospital Affiliated to Tongji University, Xuanwu Hospital Capital Medical University, the First Hospital of Hebei Medical University, Ganzhou People's Hospital, Shanxi Bethune Hospital, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, and Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Xiamen University, from June to October 2022. Using a random number table method, the subjects were divided into an experimental group and a control group, with 90 cases in each group. The patients of experimental group received treatment with varicose vein sealant kit, while the patients of control group received radiofrequency ablation. The main outcome measure was the complete closure rate of the great saphenous vein in both groups of patients 3 months after surgery. The secondary outcome measures were the complete closure rate of the great saphenous vein in both groups of patients immediately after surgery and 6 months after surgery, the operation time for closing the main trunk of the great saphenous vein, pain score, venous clinical severity score (VCSS), Aberdeen varicose veins questionnaire (AVVQ) at different times before and after surgery, and the incidence of complications in both groups of patients. The non inferiority threshold for the two treatment methods is set at "-10.00%". Results: A total of 177 patients were ultimately enrolled. There were 89 cases in the experimental group, including 38 males and 51 females, with a median age [ M ( Q 1 , Q 3 )] of 59.7(49.6, 66.7) years, and 88 cases in the control group, including 30 males and 58 females, with a median age of 57.2(46.9, 65.9) years. A total of 174 patients completed a 3-month follow-up, and 167 patients completed a 6-month follow-up. The closure time of the main saphenous vein in the experimental group was (22.1±11.1) min, which was longer than the control group, which was (18.7±9.8) min ( P =0.031). The complete closure rate of the great saphenous vein immediately after surgery in both the experimental group and the control group was 100%. The complete closure rates of the great saphenous vein at 3 months after surgery were 98.8% (85/86) and 98.9% (87/88), respectively. The lower limit of the 95% CI for the difference between the two groups was -3.19%, which was greater than the non-inferiority threshold of -10.00% (non-inferiority P <0.001). The complete closure rates of the great saphenous vein at 6 months after surgery were 97.6% (81/83) and 100% (84/84), the lower limit of the 95% CI for the difference between the two groups was -5.71%, which was greater than the non-inferiority threshold of -10.00% (non-inferiority P <0.001). The immediate pain scores after complete anesthesia awakening of the experimental group and the control group were both 1.0 (0, 2.0), with no statistically significant difference ( P =0.365). The incidence of bruising in the experimental group and the control group one week after surgery was 61.2% (52/85) and 67.1% (57/85), respectively, with no statistically significant difference ( P =0.181). There was no statistically significant difference in VCSS and AVVQ scores between groups before surgery and at 1, 3, and 6 months after surgery (all P >0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of complications such as deep vein thrombosis, phlebitis, pain, and subcutaneous hematoma in the lower limbs 3 months after surgery (all P >0.05). Conclusion: The varicose vein sealant kit is safe and effective in treating great saphenous vein dysfunction, and can achieve a complete closure rate of great saphenous vein that is not inferior to traditional radiofrequency ablation.

Abstract: Objective: To investigate the genetic subtypes and drug resistance monitoring of newly reported human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection/AIDS virus in Anhui Province from 2020 to 2023. Methods: An observational design study was used to collect blood samples from patients diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in the AIDS Prevention and Control Department of Anhui Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention from January 2020 to December 2023.The HIV-1 pol gene was amplified by reverse transcription-nested PCR, and the genetic subtypes were identified by phylogenetic tree analysis using MEGA 7.0 software. The mutation sites of drug resistance were analyzed by the online software tool of Stanford University's HIV Drug resistance database. The influencing factors of drug resistance before treatment were analyzed by multivariate logistic analysis. Results: A total of 335 plasma samples were collected, and 332 HIV-1 pol gene sequences were obtained successfully. The main gene subtypes were CRF01-AE, accounting for 35.55% (118/332), followed by CRF07-BC, B and B+C types [29.22% (97/332), 11.74% (39/332), 9.93% (33/332)]. The total drug resistance rate before treatment was 30.12%(32/100), and the drug resistance rate of protease inhibitor (PIs) in HIV-1 was 6.33% (21/332). The drug resistance rate of nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTI) before treatment was 6.33% (21/332). The drug resistance rate of non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTI) before treatment was 17.47% (58/332).The comparison of drug resistance rate of different drug types showed statistical significance ( χ 2 =30.435, P <0.05).Among the 100 cases of drug resistance, the main mutation point of HIV-1 protease inhibitor was Q58E (21.00%), and the main mutation point of nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor was M184V/I (6.00%). Non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor resistance mutation points mainly K103N (22.00%).There were statistically significant differences in the starting time of antiviral therapy, the number of CD4 + T cells at baseline and the drug resistance rate of gene subtypes (the chi-square values are respectively 24.152, 32.516, 11.652, P <0.05).Multivariate logistic analysis showed that the baseline CD4 + T cell count was <200/μl, subtype B, subtype B+C, CRF01-AE subtype, CRF55-01B subtype and 01-BC subtype was the influential factor of drug resistance before treatment (the chi-square values are respectively 4.577, 8.202, 4.416, 5.206, 7.603 and 4.804, P <0.05). Conclusion: The newly reported HIV/AIDS population in Anhui Province from 2020 to 2023 has a variety of viral gene subtypes, and NNRTIs are the main types of drug resistance gene mutations before treatment. Attention should be paid to the number of baseline CD4 + T cells, the duration of antiviral treatment, and the distribution of gene subtypes to reduce the drug resistance of HIV/AIDS patients before treatment.

Abstract: Objective: To explore the efficacy of short-term personalized vestibular rehabilitation supervised by special personnel (ST-PVR) versus fixed vestibular rehabilitation (FVR) on decompensated recurrent peripheral vertigo. Methods: A randomized controlled trial was carried out. Patients diagnosed with decompensated recurrent vertigo in the clinic of Eye & ENT Hospital, Fudan University from January to December 2018 were randomly allocated into FVR and ST-PVR groups via computer-generated randomization. The FVR group received fixed scheme involving gaze stabilization exercises, habituation exercises, balance and gait training, while the ST-PVR group received individualized training programs based on symptoms and vestibular function examination results, with adjustments made according to the progress of recovery. Patient symptoms and vestibular function improvement were assessed using the dizziness handicap inventory (DHI), activities-specific balance confidence (ABC), self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), caloric test, and sensory organization test (SOT) at 2, 4, and 8 weeks of treatment. Results: A total of 44 patients were included, including 16 males and 28 females, with an average age of (50.6±13.5) years. There were 21 cases in the FVR group and 23 cases in the ST-PVR group. In the ST-PVR group, DHI score (49.5±26.8 vs 61.3±21.4, P =0.046) and SAS score (39.1±7.8 vs 44.3±6.6, P =0.021) significantly improved after 2 weeks of treatment, while significant improvement occurred only after 8 weeks of treatment in the FVR group (DHI score: 28.1±15.9 vs 53.1±18.5, P =0.001; SAS score: 35.3±6.7 vs 43.1±8.4, P =0.010). There was no significant change of ABC score in the FVR group after 8 weeks of treatment (86.5±12.9 vs 83.4±18.1, P =0.373), while a significant improvement was observed in the ST-PVR group after 4 weeks of treatment (83.6±15.2 vs 78.4±15.1, P =0.015). The caloric test results showed that after 8 weeks of treatment, the proportion of patients with unilateral weakness<25% increased in both groups [FVR group: 57.1% (12/21) vs 9.5% (2/21), P =0.001; ST-PVR group: 52.2% (12/23) vs 17.4% (4/23), P =0.014]. In the ST-PVR group, the proportion of patients with dominant preference≤25% significantly increased [91.3% (21/23) vs 60.9% (14/23), P =0.016], while there was no significant change in the FVR group [61.9 (13/21) vs 57.1% (12/21), P =0.500]. The proportion of patients with SOT score≥70 in the ST-PVR group increased significantly after 2 weeks of treatment [69.6% (16/23) vs 30.4% (7/23), P =0.009], while the FVR group showed a significant increase only after 8 weeks of treatment [81.0% (17/21) vs 42.9% (9/21), P =0.012]. Conclusion: Both FVR and ST-PVR effectively promote vestibular compensation by improving objective vestibular functions and relieving subjective symptoms and anxiety of the patients with decompensation recurrent vertigo, while ST-PVR might shorten the recovery time and increase balance confidence.

Abstract: SUMMARYGroup A Streptococcus (GAS), also known as Streptococcus pyogenes , is a clinically well-adapted human pathogen that harbors rich virulence determinants contributing to a broad spectrum of diseases. GAS is capable of invading epithelial, endothelial, and professional phagocytic cells while evading host innate immune responses, including phagocytosis, selective autophagy, light chain 3-associated phagocytosis, and inflammation. However, without a more complete understanding of the different ways invasive GAS infections develop, it is difficult to appreciate how GAS survives and multiplies in host cells that have interactive immune networks. This review article attempts to provide an overview of the behaviors and mechanisms that allow pathogenic GAS to invade cells, along with the strategies that host cells practice to constrain GAS infection. 38. [Randomized controlled study on the application effect of a new type of intravenous radiofrequency closed therapy system made in China and an imported system].

Abstract: Objective: To compare the application effect of domestic and imported intravenous radiofrequency closure system in the treatment of primary varicose veins of lower extremities. Methods: This single-center prospective, non-inferiority randomized controlled trial was performed in the Department of Vascular Surgery, the Fourth Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine from January 2021 to January 2022. Patients with primary varicose veins of lower extremities who met the ataxation criteria were randomly assigned to the experimental group(domestic novel venous radiofrequency closure system) or the control group(imported venous radiofrequency closure system) in a ratio of 1∶1. The two groups of subjects were compared in terms of target vein closure rate, technical success rate, system operation performance, incidence of adverse events and incidence of serious adverse events(SAE) within 6 months after surgery. Quantitative data were compared by Mann-Whitney U test, and categorical data were compared by χ 2 test and non-inferiority test. Results: A total of 80 subjects were included in the trial (41 in the experimental group and 39 in the control group), including 27 males and 53 females, aged ( M (IQR)) 55(23) years (range:40 to 78 years). There were 48 cases of left lower limb and 32 cases of right lower limb. The technical success rate and system control performance between the groups were 100%.The incidence of adverse events (58.5% (24/41) vs . 61.5% (24/39), χ 2 =0.075, P =0.784), and the incidence of SAE (7.3% (3/41) vs . 5.1% (2/39), χ 2 =0.163, P =0.686) within 6 months after surgery in experimental group and control group had no statistical significance. There was one device-related adverse event in each of the two groups. In the experimental group, one patient developed endovenous heat-induced thrombosis after surgery and recovered after taking rivaroxaban tablets. One patient in the control group had pain in the upper right thigh for more than 1 day after operation, which was cured after using analgesic cream. No device-related SAE occurred. The venous closure rate of the experimental group was 100% (38/38) at 6 months after surgery, and that of the control group was 97.4% (37/38). The difference between the two groups was 2.63% (95% CI :-3.19 to 8.45, Z =4.865, P <0.01), and the 95% CI lower limit of the difference in target venous closure rate between two groups was greater than the non-inferiority threshold of -10.00%. Conclusion: The early application effect of the new domestic intravenous radiofrequency closure system in patients with primary varicose veins of lower extremities is in line with expectations, it is not inferior to the imported system.

Abstract: Aim: To assess the value of semi-quantitative dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) and quantitative diffusion-weighted imaging parameters combined with human epididymis protein 4 (HE4) in predicting the pathological grade and lymphovascular space invasion (LVSI) of endometrioid adenocarcinoma (EAC)., Materials and Methods: Between October 2018 and December 2021, 60 women (mean age, 55 [range, 32-77] years) with EAC underwent preoperative pelvic MRI and HE4 level measurements. The positive enhancement integral (PEI), time to peak, maximum slope of increase (MSI), and maximum slope of decrease were measured by manually drawing a region of interest on the neoplastic tissue. The receiver operating characteristic curve was used to calculate the diagnostic efficiency of the single parameter and combined factors., Results: Lower apparent diffusion coefficients (ADCs) were observed in high-grade tumours (G3) than in low-grade tumours (G1/G2). PEI, MSI, and HE4 levels were higher in the high-grade tumours than in the low-grade tumours (p<0.05). The area under the curve (AUC) for G3 diagnosis using multiparametric MRI combined with HE4 was 0.929. ADC values were significantly lower in the EAC with LVSI than in those without LVSI. Tumours with LVSI showed higher PEI and HE4 levels than those without LVSI (p<0.05). The AUC for LVSI-positive diagnosis using multiparametric MRI combined with HE4 was 0.814., Conclusion: Semi-quantitative DCE-MRI, ADC values, and serum HE4 levels can be used to predict tumour grade and LVSI, and the prediction efficiency of multiparametric MRI combined with serum HE4 is better than that of any single factor., (Copyright © 2023 The Royal College of Radiologists. Abstract: Objective: To investigate the surgical indications and perioperative clinical outcomes of pelvic exenteration (PE) for locally advanced, recurrent pelvic malignancies and complex pelvic fistulas. Methods: This was a descriptive study.The indications for performing PE were: (1) locally advanced, recurrent pelvic malignancy or complex pelvic fistula diagnosed preoperatively by imaging and pathological examination of a biopsy; (2)preoperative agreement by a multi-disciplinary team that non-surgical and conventional surgical treatment had failed and PE was required; and (3) findings on intraoperative exploration confirming this conclusion.Contraindications to this surgical procedure comprised cardiac and respiratory dysfunction, poor nutritional status,and mental state too poor to tolerate the procedure.Clinical data of 141 patients who met the above criteria, had undergone PE in the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from January 2018 to September 2022, had complete perioperative clinical data, and had given written informed consent to the procedure were collected,and the operation,relevant perioperative variables, postoperative pathological findings (curative resection), and early postoperative complications were analyzed. Results: Of the 141 included patients, 43 (30.5%) had primary malignancies, 61 (43.3%) recurrent malignancies, 28 (19.9%) complex fistulas after radical resection of malignancies,and nine (6.4%)complex fistulas caused by benign disease. There were 79 cases (56.0%) of gastrointestinal tumors, 30 cases (21.3%) of reproductive tumors, 16 cases (11.3%) of urinary tumors, and 7 cases (5.0%) of other tumors such mesenchymal tissue tumors. Among the 104 patients with primary and recurrent malignancies, 15 patients with severe complications of pelvic perineum of advanced tumors were planned to undergo palliative PE surgery for symptom relief after preoperative assessment of multidisciplinary team; the other 89 patients were evaluated for radical PE surgery. All surgeries were successfully completed. Total PE was performed on 73 patients (51.8%),anterior PE on 22 (15.6%),and posterior PE in 46 (32.6%). The median operative time was 576 (453,679) minutes, median intraoperative blood loss 500 (200, 1 200) ml, and median hospital stay 17 (13.0,30.5)days.There were no intraoperative deaths. Of the 89 patients evaluated for radical PE surgery, the radical R0 resection was achieved in 64 (71.9%) of them, R1 resection in 23 (25.8%), and R2 resection in two (2.2%). One or more postoperative complications occurred in 85 cases (60.3%), 32 (22.7%)of which were Clavien-Dindo grade III and above.One patient (0.7%)died during the perioperative period. Conclusion: PE is a valid option for treating locally advanced or recurrent pelvic malignancies and complex pelvic fistulas.

Abstract: Objective: To investigate the effect and molecular mechanism of ultra-conservative long non-coding RNA uc.77 in lung cancer. Methods: Lung cancer tissues and adjacent normal tissues were obtained from 61 patients with lung cancer who were diagnosed with lung cancer and underwent surgery from 2014 to 2016 in the General Hospital of the Southern Theater Command of the People's Liberation Army. Real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was used to detect the uc.77 relative expressions in normal human bronchial epithelial cells 16HBE, lung cancer cell lines, and 61 pair lung cancer tissues. Uc.77 siRNA was transfected into lung cancer cells to interfere with the expression of uc.77, qRT-PCR was used to verify the interference effect, CCK8 method and clone formation experiment were used to detect cell proliferation ability, flow cytometry was used to detect apoptosis and cell cycle changes. H1299 cells transfected with uc.77 siRNA were injected into the subcutaneous right side of BALB/c nude mice to construct a tumor-bearing model for exploring the role of uc.77 on tumor growth. Western blot and qRT-PCR methods were used to detect the protein and mRNA expressions of p21. Results: The relative expression levels of uc.77 in lung cancer cell lines 95D, H1299, A549, H460, H446 and 16HBE-T were significantly higher than that of 16HBE cells ( P <0.05). The uc.77 RNA expression levels of lung cancer tissues was significantly higher than that of the adjacent normal tissues ( P <0.001). In addition, increased lncRNA uc.77 expression was significantly associated with big tumor size, lymph node metastasis and advanced TNM stage ( P <0.05). After transfection with uc.77 siRNA, the expressions of uc.77 in H1299, 95-D and 16HBE-T cells were reduced ( P <0.05), and the cell proliferation capacities were reduced at 48 hours and 72 hours ( P <0.05). After transfection with uc.77 siRNA-1, the G(0)/G(1) phase cell ratio of H1299 siRNA-1 group [(71.86±3.46)%] was higher than those of H1299-control group [(47.62±5.48)%] and H1299 siRNA-NC group [(61.38±5.62)%, P <0.05], S phase cell ratio of H1299 siRNA-1 group [(14.99±3.61)%] was lower than those of H1299-control group [(34.95±7.05)%] and H1299 siRNA-NC group [(23.75±5.87)%, P <0.05], the apoptosis rate of H1299 siRNA-1 group [(4.90±1.80)%] was higher than those of H1299-control group [(3.30±0.80)%] and H1299 siRNA-NC group [(2.80±1.20)%, P <0.05], the colony formation rate of H1299 siRNA-1 group [(19.20±2.00)%] was lower than those of H1299 control group [(32.60±2.00)%] and H1299 siRNA-NC group [(34.40±1.00)%, P <0.05]. The results of the nude mice tumor formation experiment showed that the tumor volume of the H1299 siRNA-1 group was significantly lower than those of the H1299-control group and the H1299-negative control group ( P <0.05), the average tumor weight of H1299 siRNA-1 group was significantly lower than those of H1299-control group and H1299-negative control group ( P <0.05), tumor cell growth marker Ki-67 in the H1299 siRNA-1 group showed weak positive, and Ki-67 in the H1299-control group and H1299-negative control group showed positive. The result of qRT-PCR analysis showed that the mRNA expression level of p21 in H1299 siRNA-1 group (2.57±0.45) was higher than those in H1299 control group (1.00±0.00, P =0.001) and H1299 siRNA-NC group (1.52±0.37, P =0.009). The result of western blotting analysis also showed that the expression of p21 protein level in H1299 siRNA-1 group increased. Conclusions: The expression of ultraconserved long non-coding RNA uc.77 is elevated in lung cancer cell lines and lung cancer tissues. Silencing the expression of ultraconservative long noncoding RNA uc.77 can inhibit tumor growth, and blocking uc.77 expression may be a potential therapeutic target for lung cancer.

45. [Efficacy and safety of omalizumab in patients with refractory allergic asthma: a meta-analysis].

Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of omalizumab in patients with refractory allergic asthma using meta-analysis. Methods: We searched databases including PubMed, Web of Science, Embase and the website of ClinicalTrials. gov registry for randomized controlled trials (RCTs), using the search terms: ("anti-IgE" OR "anti-immunoglobulin E" OR "anti-IgE antibody" OR "omalizumab" OR "rhuMAb-E25" OR "Xolair") AND ("allergic asthma"). The time was up to September 19th 2020. Review Manager 5.4 software and Stata16 software were used to calculate pooled RR or WMD , perform heterogeneity test, and assess publication bias. Results: Fifteen RCTs with 6 316 patients in total (omalizumab, n =3 469; placebo, n =2 847) met our selection criteria. Comparing with placebo, omalizumab reduced the risk of asthma exacerbations during both stable-inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) phase ( RR =0.69, 95% CI : 0.63-0.75, P <0.001; I 2 =39.0%, P =0.090) and ICS-reduction phase ( RR =0.55, 95% CI : 0.46-0.66, P <0.001; I 2 =41.0%, P =0.180), reduced emergency visits ( RR =0.53, 95% CI : 0.38-0.73, P <0.001; I 2 =0, P =0.420), made a significant reduction in dosage of ICS ( RR= 1.35, 95% CI : 1.25-1.45, P <0.001; I 2 =22.0%, P =0.280) and even withdrew from ICS completely ( RR =1.80, 95% CI : 1.41-2.31, P <0.001; I 2 =57.0%, P =0.070). Omalizumab significantly improved asthma-related quality of life ( RR =1.81, 95% CI : 1.51-2.17). The use of rescue bronchodilators was significantly reduced in the omalizumab group ( RR =0.78, 95% CI : 0.67-0.92) but there was no significant difference in the dosage of rescue bronchodilators (puff per day) ( WMD =-0.32, 95% CI : -0.77-0.13). Patients taking omalizumab did not increase the frequency of any adverse events ( RR =1.01, 95% CI : 0.98-1.03) and serious adverse events ( RR =0.89, 95% CI : 0.74-1.06). Conclusions: Omalizumab is an ideal adjunctive treatment for refractory allergic asthma with good efficacy and safety. Further randomized controlled trials are needed to determine the appropriate duration of treatment.

Abstract: Psoriasis is a chronic systemic inflammatory disorder associated with several comorbidities in addition to the characteristic skin lesions. Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is the most frequent comorbidity in psoriasis and a risk factor for cardiovascular disease, a major cause of death among patients with psoriasis. Although the exact causal relationship between these two disorders is not fully established, the underlying pathophysiology linking psoriasis and MetS seems to involve overlapping genetic predispositions and inflammatory pathways. Dysregulation of the IL-23/Th-17 immune signalling pathway is central to both pathologies and may be key to promoting susceptibility to metabolic and cardiovascular diseases in individuals with and without psoriasis. Thus, biological treatments for psoriasis that interrupt these signals could both reduce the psoriatic inflammatory burden and also lessen the risk of developing atherosclerosis and cardiometabolic diseases. In support of this hypothesis, improvement of skin lesions was associated with improvement in vascular inflammation in recent imaging studies, demonstrating that the beneficial effect of biological agents goes beyond the skin and could help to prevent cardiovascular disease. This review will summarize current knowledge on underlying inflammatory mechanisms shared between psoriasis and MetS and discuss the most recent clinical evidence for the potential for psoriasis treatment to reduce cardiovascular risk., (© 2022 The Authors. 47. Supraclavicular lymph node recurrence after radical surgery: is epidermal growth factor receptor a predictive marker?

Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate the rare postoperative supraclavicular metastasis originating from oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and to discuss epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) as a potential predictive marker. Tumour specimens of OSCC patients divided into three groups were included: supraclavicular metastasis (n = 8), conventional cervical metastasis (n = 28), no metastasis (n = 48). Basic information and EGFR expression were compared among these groups and the data were analysed to identify potentially related risk factors for supraclavicular metastasis. In the supraclavicular metastasis group (n = 8), all primary tumours were T1-T2 and located in the tongue and buccal region; five of eight cases were pathologically N0. The median interval from the primary tumour resection to the development of supraclavicular metastases was 21.5 months. All related deaths (5/8) occurred within 2 years. In the supraclavicular metastasis group, EGFR expression was highest in the supraclavicular metastases, followed by cervical lymph nodes, and was lowest in the primary tumours (P = 0.39). In contrast, in the conventional metastasis group and the N0 group, EGFR expression was higher in the primary tumours than in the lymph nodes (P < 0.01). Supraclavicular metastasis of OSCC is infrequent and associated with a poor prognosis. EGFR might predict the occurrence of supraclavicular metastasis., (Copyright © 2021 The Authors. Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the value of color Doppler ultrasound and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) in evaluating the level of carotid bifurcation and the morphology of extracranial internal carotid artery in patients with atherosclerotic carotid stenosis. Methods: The carotid artery examination data of 186 patients with atherosclerotic carotid stenosis who underwent carotid DSA and color Doppler ultrasound in Shanghai Changzheng Hospital from July 2017 to June 2019 were retrospectively analyzed, including 154 males and 32 females, with ages ranging from 36 to 84 (66±8) years old. The correlation between the position of carotid bifurcation and the level of cervical spine, the distance from the position of carotid bifurcation to mandibular angle, the correlation of the level of bifurcation with the length of neck, and the incidence of carotid distortion were analyzed. Results: DSA showed that the most common position of carotid bifurcation was at C3 level on the left [37.3% (56/150)], and at C3-C4 level on the right [33.6% (42/125)], and the highest position was at C2 level on the left, and at C2-C3 levels on the right, while the lowest level on both sides was at C5 level. The incidence of high bifurcation of left carotid artery (C3 and above) was 46% (69/150), which was higher than that of right carotid artery [21.6% (27/125), P <0.001]. The incidence of high carotid bifurcation in men and women was 33.2% (76/229) and 43.5% (20/46), respectively, with no significant difference ( P = 0.182). Carotid ultrasound showed that the distance between the left carotid bifurcation and the mandibular angle was (3.0±1.3) cm, which was shorter than that on the right [(3.4±1.2) cm] ( P <0.001). The distance between carotid bifurcation and mandibular angle in men and women was (3.2±1.2) cm and (3.3±1.0) cm, respectively, with no significant difference ( P = 0.093). There was no significant correlation between carotid bifurcation level and carotid length (right: r = 0.02, P = 0.091; left: r = 0.01, P = 0.927). The incidence of carotid artery distortion was 28.1% (9/32) in women and 15.6% (24/154) in men, with no significant difference ( P = 0.091). The incidence of right carotid artery distortion in high bifurcation group was 59.3% (16/27), which was higher than that in non-high bifurcation group [3.1% (3/98)] ( P <0.001). Likewise, the incidence of left carotid artery distortion in high bifurcation group was 30.4% (21/69), which was higher than that in non-high bifurcation group [2.5% (2/81)] ( P< 0.001). Conclusions: The bifurcation position of left carotid artery in patients with atherosclerotic carotid stenosis is higher than that of the right. Patients with high bifurcation of carotid artery are more likely to be complicated with carotid distortion. Preoperative color doppler ultrasound combined with DSA can evaluate the distortion of extracranial carotid artery, thereby providing reference for the selection of surgical methods.

49. Long-term safety of risankizumab from 17 clinical trials in patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis.

Abstract: Background: Risankizumab has demonstrated efficacy and safety in patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis in randomized clinical trials., Objectives: To evaluate safety data from risankizumab psoriasis phase I-III clinical trials., Methods: Short-term safety (through week 16) was analysed using integrated data from five phase II and III clinical trials. Long-term safety was evaluated using integrated data from 17 phase I-III completed and ongoing trials., Results: Short-term safety analyses included 1306 patients receiving risankizumab 150 mg and 300 patients receiving placebo [402·2 and 92·0 patient-years (PY) of exposure, respectively]. Long-term analyses included 3072 risankizumab-treated patients (exposure: 7927 PY). The median (excluding four outliers) treatment duration was 2·9 years (range 2 days to 5·9 years). Exposure-adjusted adverse event rates did not increase with long-term treatment (318 vs. 171 events per 100 PY for short- and long-term analyses). With long-term risankizumab treatment, rates of serious adverse events were 7·8 per 100 PY, serious infections 1·2 per 100 PY, nonmelanoma skin cancer (NMSC) 0·7 per 100 PY, malignant tumours excluding NMSC 0·5 per 100 PY, and adjudicated major adverse cardiovascular events 0·3 per 100 PY, with no important identified risks. Limitations include that the study inclusion and exclusion criteria varied and that three studies enrolled ≤ 50 patients., Conclusions: Risankizumab demonstrated a favourable safety profile over short- and long-term treatment in patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis., (© 2021 The Authors.
