Background Post ablative oral mucosal defect resulting from the removal of tumors can be treated with various techniques. Purpose In this paper, we are showing what, in our experience, are the advantages and disadvantages given using biosynthetic skin substitutes when dealing with this kind of lesions. Materials and methods Patients included in the sample came to our attention with both neoplastic lesions (11 subjects) and important scar retraction after previous oncologic surgery (1 subject). All patients underwent trans-oral resection surgery following the same surgical protocol and post ablative oral mucosal defect were treated using the dermal regeneration template. The surgical defect location, size, and time of removal of the silicone layer varied from one subject to the other. Results Most patients showed good healing with reduced scarring and adequate remucosalisation of the defect. The main complications were shown in a palatal lesion treated with concomitant osteal resection, which developed an oroantral fistula at follow up, and tongue lesions which showed some scarring. Conclusions Given our experience, we would advise using dermal substitutes when reconstructing oral defects only after a cautious evaluation of the area of the lesion, the gap size, the possible adherence of the membrane to the gap, and the presence of tissue supporting the overlying membrane.

The authors sought correlations between harvesting of the scapular bone tip free flap used for head-and-neck reconstruction and any shoulder function deficit, particularly at the level of the rotator cuff. The flap permits reconstruction of large and diverse regions of the head and neck, but long-term harvest morbidity has not been investigated extensively. The authors analyzed the clinical records of all patients who underwent head-and-neck reconstructions using free scapular tip flaps in our department over the past 5 years. The inclusion criteria were complete clinical and radiological documentation and follow-up for at least 12 months. Two populations, a surgical and control population, were analyzed. All patients in both populations underwent the simple shoulder test, an internationally validated self-administered test that highlights functional shoulder deficits, and 3 additional tests at orthopedic visits: the external rotation test, Patte test, and external rotation lag sign test. A head-and-neck cancer-specific questionnaire (University of Washington Quality of Life, version 4) was completed by the surgical patients. All statistical analyses were performed using Software IBM SPSS Statistics (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY).A total of 19 patients met the inclusion criteria: 11 males (57.8%) and 8 females (42.2%) of mean age 60.9 years (range 23-75 years). In addition, 20 age-and sex-matched volunteers with no history of shoulder pathology were evaluated in terms of shoulder functionality. The average score on the simple shoulder test was 10.55 in the healthy population versus 8.31 in the study population ( P0.001); in particular, shoulder strength differed between the groups. Similarly, the orthopedic examinations revealed clinically significant differences between the controls and patients on the Patte test and external rotation lag sign test (both P0.001), but not the external rotation test ( P0.001). The mean University of Washington Quality of Life was 73.39; most patients reported good quality of life (52.6%), followed by very good (15.7%).The free scapular bone tip flap is valuable for reconstruction of head-and-neck defects; the long and reliable vascularpedicle allows rapid patient mobilization. Morbidity was confined to small reductions in shoulder strength and external rotation, which do not affect quality of life.

Introduction: Cavernous malformations of the ventral brainstem are a challenging disease to treat. From an anatomical perspective, the best surgical options are endoscopic endonasal approaches. The first reports of their usage for this purpose date back to 2012. In this study, we gathered data on the subject, share our experience, and outline technical notes and tips for this surgery. Case Presentation: We report a 14-year-old female with a ventral pons cavernoma, treated using an endoscopic endonasal transclival approach and followed-up for 5.9 years. This is the longest reported follow-up for this condition to date. Written informed consent was obtained from the patient for publication of this case report and the accompanying images. Discussion: An endoscopic endonasal transclival approach was used. The skull base was reconstructed using the multilayer grafting technique and a nasoseptal flap. There was no postoperative cerebrospinal fluid leakage. In a literature review, we identified 8 patients who were treated endoscopically: 1 transplanum-transtuberculum, 1 transtuberculum-transclival, and 6 transclival approaches were employed. Skull base closure was achieved using multilayer grafting and a nasoseptal flap in 4 cases, a gasket seal technique combined with nasoseptal flap in 3 cases and a periumbilical fat graft, fibrin sealant patch, and fibrin glue in 1 case. There were 2 cases of leakage, which resolved completely with revision surgery. Conclusion: Endoscopic surgery is a reliable alternative to traditional open surgery. It may be the preferred choice for intra-axial ventral brain cavernomas.

Background: Head and neck infections are commonly caused by affections with an odontogenic origin. Untreated or non-responsive to treatment odontogenic infections can cause severe consequences such as localized abscesses, deep neck infections (DNI), and mediastinitis, conditions where emergency procedures such as tracheostomy or cervicotomy could be needed. Methods: An epidemiological retrospective observational study was performed, and the objective of the investigation was to present a single-center 5-years retrospective analysis of all patients admitted to the emergency department of the hospital Policlinico Umberto I “Sapienza” with a diagnosis of odontogenic related head and neck infection, observing the epidemiological patterns, the management and the type of surgical procedure adopted to treat the affections. Results: Over a 5-year period, 376,940 patients entered the emergency room of Policlinico Umberto I, “Sapienza” University of Rome, for a total of 63,632 hospitalizations. A total of 6607 patients were registered with a diagnosis of odontogenic abscess (10.38%), 151 of the patients were hospitalized, 116 of them were surgically treated (76.8%), and 6 of them (3.9%) manifested critical conditions such as sepsis and mediastinitis. Conclusions: Even today, despite the improvement of dental health education, dental affections can certainly lead to acute conditions, necessitating immediate surgical intervention.

Study Design Description and validation of a surgical technique. Objective En-bloc maxillectomy with removal of the nasal septum is a rare procedure; preservation of the nasal bones and integrity of the alveolar ridge is even rarer. These procedures traditionally required a combined transfacial-transoral approach based on lateral rhinotomy. We describe a combined endoscopic transnasal-transoral approach for treatment of nasal septal malignancies that involve the hard palate. Methods Excision of malignant tumours arising from the nasal septum was achieved in 4 patients using a transnasal-transoral endoscopic approach. Using 4-mm optics angled at 0° and 30°, the septum was freed from the ethmoid and removed en-bloc with the hard palate, by pulling the septum down through the hard palate. Results Of the 4 patients, 2 underwent complete removal of septal chondrosarcomas, one removal of a sinonasal undifferentiated carcinoma and one removal of a mucoepidermoid carcinoma. In two cases, the palatal mucosa was spared and repositioned to restore separation between the nose and oral cavity. The remaining two cases underwent complete resection of the hard palate; one palate was reconstructed using a pedicled temporalis muscle flap and the other by employing an obturator. No infection was encountered. Partial ethmoidectomy was performed in all four cases. The mean hospital stay was 5 days. All patients are free of disease after a mean follow-up of 4 years (range: 2–7 years). Conclusions Our new approach allows for minimally invasive resection of nasal septal malignancies that extend to the palate. Our maxillary pull-through technique is a valuable new surgical procedure for malignant pathologies of the nasal septum; the only drawback is that endoscopic surgery has a steep learning curve.

A palatal fistula is a pathological condition that connects the nasal cavities with the oral cavity. An oral–nasal fistula is reported as a possible post-surgical complication after the removal of oral carcinomas. The presence of a palatal fistula affects the patient’s quality of life, making it necessary to apply a prosthetic device, such as a palatal plate, to keep the nasal cavities separated from the oral one. There are several surgical techniques to close a palatal fistula, but it is not possible to define the optimal technique as the approach is extremely dependent on the characteristics of the fistula. The aim of this article is to propose a minimally invasive technique to reduce the size of palatal fistulae and to reduce the surgical difficulty (NSPF). A total of 20 patients fulfilled the inclusion criteria and were checked every two weeks. The fistula was injured with a needle every 2 weeks. Fifteen patients who healed with complete closure of the fistula reported no need for a palatal protection plate to eat, drink and speak normally. It is possible to conclude that the NSPF protocol is a valid approach for the non-surgical reduction of palatal fistulae, and it is possible, when the appropriate conditions are present, to achieve complete closure.

Malignat proliferating trichilemmal tumor (MPTT) are rare tumors usually presenting in photo-exposed areas, especially on the face, scalp, neck,and dorsal part of the hand. Differential diagnosis include squamous cell carcinoma, basal-cell carcinoma, keratoacanthoma and malignant nodular melanoma, so that only incisional biopsy can lead to pre-operative diagnosis. We present case MPTT misdiagnosed with parotid gland malignant tumor that underwent radical surgical excision and adijuvant radiotherapy.

The aim of this study was to understand the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the epidemiology of maxillofacial trauma in a regional trauma center in L'Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy, during the first wave of the pandemic and comparted it to an equivalent period from 2015 to 2018. The authorshave retrospectively analyzed personal data, site of trauma, etiology, and mechanism of injury. Statistical analysis has been carried out utilizing IBM SPSS Statistics software (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY) and significance was accepted for P values of0.05. From January 2015 to December 2020, a total of 296 were analyzed. In Pre-COVID era, 195 patients were evaluated, 130 males (66.6%) and 65 females (33.4%). Zygomatic-malar complex fractures were the most common site of trauma in both genders (53%), followed by mandibular fractures (23%) and orbital ones (15%). The highest incidences of injuries were recorded between 15 and 34 years (21%) with the most common etiology attributed to road accidents traumas (49%). In COVID19 era, the authors recorded 101 traumas, 58 males (57.4%), 43 females (42.6%). Zygomatic-malar complex fractures were confirmed as the most common ones in both genders (41%). The most common etiology was related to casual domestic accident and assaults (37% and 30%, respectively). There was no statistically significant difference in terms of incidence in the comparison of Pre-COVID19 and COVID19 periods (P 0.05) as opposed to the etiology in which the road traffic accidents decreased in favor of domestic accidents and interpersonal assaults (P 0.05). Our scientific study represents the first epidemiologic study related to the impact of COVID-19 on maxillo-facial trauma in the Province of L'Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy. A decrease in the number of Maxillofacial injuries related to road traffic accidents can be demonstrated as the benefit of lockdown, however, a significant increase in the number of physical assaults shows how isolation and restrictions have had a highly negative psychological impact on society.

Purpose: This retrospective study aims to compare the accuracy of two different CAD/CAM systems in orthognathic surgery. The novelty of this work lies in the method of evaluating the accuracy, i.e., using an Iterative Closest Point (ICP) algorithm, which matches a pair of 2D or 3D point clouds with unknown dependencies of the transition from scan s(k) to scan s(k+1). Methods: The study population was composed of ten patients who presented to the Maxillofacial Surgery Department of the University “Sapienza” of Rome for the evaluation and management of skeletal malocclusions. The patients were divided into two groups, depending on the technique used: group 1: splintless group (custom-made cutting guide and plates); group 2: splint group (using a 3D-printed splint). STL files were imported into Geomagic® Control X™ software, which allows for comparison and analysis using an ICP algorithm. The RMSE parameter (3D error) was used to calculate the accuracy. In addition, data were compared in two different patient subgroups. The first subgroup only underwent a monobloc Le Fort I osteotomy (p-value = 0.02), and the second subgroup underwent a Le Fort I osteotomy associated with a segmental osteotomy of the maxilla (p-value = 0.23). Results: Group 1 showed a 3D error of 1.22 mm ± SD 0.456, while group 2 showed a 3D error of 1.63 mm ± SD 0.303. These results have allowed us to compare the accuracy of the two CAD/CAM systems (p-value = 0.09). Conclusions: The ICP algorithm provided a reproducible method of comparison. The splintless method would seem more accurate (p-value = 0.02) in transferring the surgical programming into the operating room when only a Le Fort I osteotomy is to be performed.

Ameloblastoma is a rare, benign, odontogenic tumor of epithelial origin, characterized by locally aggressive, expansive growth. Treatment is controversial due to the risk of relapse. The aim of this multicenter retrospective study was to evaluate the effectiveness of complete resection in cases of

Pharyngocutaneous fistula is one of the most common and serious complications associated with total laryngectomy. Numerous studies tried to evaluate causative and predisposing factors associated with this complication, but data are considerably variable and there is still no international consensus. Incidence rate varies considerably between studies, with reported rates from 3% to 65%. This 4K video presents our T-shaped four-step technique (FST) for closing the pharyngeal mucosa after total laryngectomy in a step-by-step manner. All sutures were performed by braided absorbable 3/0 26 mm 1/2c (Vicryl plus 3.0; Ethicon, Somerville, NJ, USA). Recordings were performed using a Karl Storz 4K 3D VITOM® exoscope (Karl Storz SECo. KG, Tuttlingen, Germany). We have been described this technique through a high-definition video, showing each step, and tips from the authors. Our T-shaped pharyngoplasty closure technique can be divided into four steps: 1. "Key Stitches"; 2. "Area Refinement Stitches"; 3. "Modified Connell Suture"; 4. "Modified Purse String Suture." Our T-shaped FST closure technique proved to be an effective and reproducible method, which we feel could be the preferred choice for primary pharyngoplasty closure.

Orbital fractures are among the most frequent facial traumas. This study retrospectively analysed patients treated in Umberto I Hospital Trauma-Centre, Sapienza University of Rome from 1 January 2010 to 31 December 2020. The inclusion criteria were as follows: diagnosis of pure/impure orbital bone fracture, complete clinical and radiological records, and a minimum 12-month follow up. Gender, age, aetiology, fracture type, treatment, and associated complications were analysed using IBM SPSS Statistics, and p values of0.05 were considered significant. In total, 1393 patients presented with orbital trauma, 543 of whom met the inclusion criteria and underwent surgery (394 males (72.6%) and 149 females (27.4%); mean (range) age 39.2 (7-90) years). Assault (n = 165, 30.4%) was the most common cause of trauma, followed by road traffic accidents and sports-related incidents. Diplopia was the major symptom at diagnosis (n = 183, 33.6%). Open reduction and internal fixation via a sub-eyelid approach was the preferred treatment, achieving a significant reduction in the functional changes induced by fracture (p 0.05). Our data will aid future studies of maxillofacial traumatology and suggest that education and prevention measures could reduce the incidence of this type of trauma.

BACKGROUND Restoration of mandibular continuity, functionality and attempting to return patients to their premorbid state is the ultimate goal of reconstruction. Some studies compare different flaps but the reconstructed portions vary and there is little consensus on the best option for a particular defect. METHODS This pilot study compares three different reconstructive options with free flap. We will analyze the accuracy of the reconstruction, the post-operative complications related to the reconstruction, the morbidity of the donor site. This pilot study compares three different reconstructive options with free flap in the reconstruction of the mandibular symphysis: iliac crest, scapula and fibula. RESULTS In our sample the morbidity of the donor site was overlapping, as for all three choices free from complications. In post resection edentulous patients, the fibula seems to guarantee better positioning, while in patients with residual occlusion the iliac crest (figure n.4 and n.5) seems to allow a more congruous repositioning. The fibula seems to have a superiority over the other flaps in terms of accuracy in all types of patient. CONCLUSIONS Contrary to the most recent work on the accuracy of CAD / CAM, we have analyzed the error in the reconstruction of a specific segment and in the repositioning of the residual mandibular component without the use of guided computer programming.

Parotid gland is the most common location for salivary gland tumors, more commonly pleomorphic adenoma and Warthin's tumor. Types of parotid surgery include superficial parotidectomy (SP), partial superficial parotidectomy (PSP), total conservative parotidectomy (TCP), enucleation (E), extracapsular dissection (ECD), and are related to different incidence of complications. The choice depends on tumors localization, dimension and histology. The aim was to compare complications rate such as facial and great auricular nerve impairment and Frey syndrome according to type of surgery performed.We retrospectively review the management of 116 benign tumors of the parotid gland treated between January 2004 and January 2020 at our Department.Most frequent complication observed was a GAN deficiency (22.41%), permanent in 13% of cases. Post-operative facial nerve impairment was observed in 19 patients (persistent only in 1 case). Only Frey syndrome (4,31% of cases) seemed to be related to type of surgery (p0.05) resulting more frequent in the group of patients that underwent "classical" parotidectomy, while facial nerve impairment, even if more frequent in this cases, did not statistically correlated with operative technique (p=0.054).Once experience is gained, in order to reduce post-operative morbidity extracapsular dissection is a reliable technique in the management of these neoplasms, even if attention has to be paid particularly in the removal of superficial masses "emerging" from the parenchyma. L’asportazione chirurgica con preservazione del nervo facciale può essere effettuata mediante differenti metodiche (caratterizzate da una differente incidenza di complicanze), quali la parotidectomia superficiale (SP), la parotidectoma parziale superficiale (PSP), la parotidectomia totale conservativa (TCP), l’enucleazione (E), la dissezione extracapsulare (ECD). La scelta si basa sulla dimensione, sull’istologia e sulla localizzazione della neoplasia. Scopo dello studio è comparare l’incidenza di complicanze quali deficit del nervo facciale e del nervo grande auricolare e sindrome di Frey in base al tipo di chirurgia effettuata.Viene riportata un’analisi retrospettiva circa il management di 116 casi di tumori benigni trattati tra il Gennaio 2004 ed il Gennaio 2020 presso il nostro Dipartimento. I criteri di inclusione considerati sono stati: pazienti operati per malattia neoplastica benigna, pazienti sottoposti in fase preoperatoria a imaging TC o RM e agoaspirato, procedure eseguite da chirurghi esperti (almeno 30 procedure/y).Tutti i pazienti hanno effettuato agoaspirato (FNAC). Ottantasei (74,13%) corrispondevano alla diagnosi istologica, 3 (2,58%) non corrispondevano all’ istologico e 27 (23,27%) non sono risultati diagnostici. Sei pazienti (5,17%) hanno subito una PT, 40 (34,48%) una PS, 18 (15,52%) una PSP, 25 (21,55%) un’ER e 27 (23,28%) un’E. Solo da sindrome di (4,31% dei casi) è risultata essere statisticamente correlata al tipo di chirurgia effettuata (p0.05), essendo più frequente nel grupppo di pazienti sottoposti a parotidectomia “classica”, mentre il deficit del nervo facciale, seppure più frequente in questo gruppo di pazienti, non ha mostrato una correlazione statisticamente significativa (p=0.054).Dai nostri risultati possiamo concludere che tecniche conservative come E, ER e PSP siano associate ad una minore morbilità rispetto a PS e PT. Infatti sono state rispettivamente meno correlate a stupor, paralisi del VII NC e sindrome di Frey. Per quanto riguarda il deficit permanente del NGA possiamo asserire che la tecnica impiegata non ha influito sulla sua comparsa in quanto l’incisione e l’accesso chirurgico sono stati gli stessi per tutti i tipi di resezione effettuate. Nelle mani di chirurghi esperti, al fine di ridurre la morbidità postoperatoria, la dissezione extracapsulare rappresenta una metodica ottimale nel trattamento delle neoplasie benigne della parotide. La PSP rappresenta un’alternativa alla SP, mentre la CTP deve essere riservata ai casi ad origine dal lobo profondo.

Maxillofacial ballistic trauma represents a devastating functional and aesthetic trauma. The extensive damage to soft and hard tissue is unpredictable, and because of the diversity and the complexity of these traumas, a systematic algorithm is essential. This study attempts to define the best management of maxillofacial ballistic injuries and to describe a standardized, surgical and prosthetic rehabilitation protocol from the first emergency stage up until the complete aesthetic and functional rehabilitation. In low-velocity ballistic injuries (bullet speed 600 m/s) are associated with an extensive hard and soft tissue disruption, and the management should be based on a three-stage reconstructive algorithm: debridement and fixation, reconstruction, and final revision. Rehabilitating a patient with ballistic trauma is a multi-step challenging treatment procedure that requires a long time and a multidisciplinary team to ensure successful results. The prosthodontic treatment outcome is one of the most important parameters by which a patient measures the restoration of aesthetic, functional, and psychological deficits. This study is a retrospective review: twenty-two patients diagnosed with outcomes of ballistic traumas were identified from the department database, and eleven patients met the inclusion criteria and were enrolled.

The main focus of this paper was to describe our experience in the management of primary lesions involving the orbit, analyzing signs and symptoms and illustrating surgical management.We describe our experience managing 62 consecutive patients diagnosed with orbital tumors confined to the orbital content (not involving skin or bone, with no intracranial invasion) and treated between January 2013 and December 2016. Demographic characteristics, symptoms, clinical findings, histological types and approaches have been recorded.We found that the most common clinical manifestations were exophthalmos/proptosis and ocular movement impairment; the most common histological types were vascular malformation and ocular adnexal lymphomas.Primary neoplasms involving orbital contents include a broad spectrum of pathologies difficult to manage without a firm diagnosis, usually histological. Different surgical accesses are described in order to perform incisional biopsy or resection of the mass.In every case, accurate surgical planning is mandatory, in order to prevent functional and/or aesthetic complications.Blepharoplasty incision, Intraorbital neoplasia, Lateral orbital tumor, Orbitotomy, Surgical treatment, Transconjunctival approach.L’obiettivo principale di questo articolo era descrivere la nostra esperienza nella gestione delle lesioni che coinvolgono l’orbita, analizzando segni e sintomi e descrivendo i possibili approcci chirurgici. Le lesioni orbitarie rappresentano un argomento di confine tra splancnocranio e neurocranio. In questo studio retrospettivo descriviamo la nostra esperienza nella gestione di 62 pazienti con diagnosi di tumori orbitari senza coinvolgimento extraorbitario o intracranico, trattati tra gennaio 2013 e dicembre 2016. Caratteristiche demografiche, sintomi, reperti clinici, tipi istologici, approcci chirurgici sono stati registrati. Nel campione incluso le manifestazioni cliniche più comuni erano esoftalmo e compromissione del movimento oculare; i tipi istologici più frequenti sono risultati essere le malformazioni vascolari ed i linfomi degli annessi oculari. L’asportazione completa della lesione è stata eseguita in 36 pazienti. La biopsia è stata eseguita in 26 pazienti ed ha confermato la diagnosi di malignità in 16 pazienti (13 linfomi degli annessi e 3 metastasi) e la diagnosi di lesione infiammatoria in 10 pazienti. In tutti i pazienti l’approccio chirurgico programmato ha permesso di ottenere una diagnosi istologica di certezza e non sono state identificate complicanze/sequele chirurgiche nel periodo di follow-up. Gli approcci chirurgici utilizzati sono stati: l’approccio transcongiuntivale in 19 pazienti (il 30,6% del campione) l’incisione cutanea per la blefaroplastica superiore in 30 pazienti (48,3% del campione) di questi in 9 pazienti l’incisione sovrapalpebrale è stata associata all’orbitotomia laterale ed infine in 13 pazienti è stato utilizzato l’approccio coronale con orbitotomia laterale. Le neoplasie primarie che coinvolgono l’orbita comprendono un ampio spettro di patologie difficili da gestire senza una diagnosi istologica di certezza. zVengono descritti diversi accessi chirurgici per eseguire la biopsia incisionale o la resezione della massa che dipendono sia dalla dimensione della lesione, dalla posizione e dal sospetto clinico. In conclusione, quando si approcciano lesioni del contenuto orbitario, è obbligatoria un’accurata pianificazione chirurgica, al fine di prevenire complicanze funzionali e/o estetiche.

Ameloblastoma is a rare, benign, odontogenic tumor of epithelial origin, characterized by locally aggressive, expansive growth. Treatment is controversial due to the risk of relapse. The aim of this multicenter retrospective study was to evaluate the effectiveness of complete resection in cases of complex ameloblastoma, which is considered at a higher risk of recurrence. Patients who met at least one of these criteria were included: recurrence, soft-tissue involvement, complete erosion of internal/external cortical walls with involvement of the inferior margin of the mandible, and invasion of the maxillary sinus or nasal cavity. Demographic data, tumor site, type of surgery, histological features, and follow-up information were collected for each patient. The cohort included 55 patients with a mean follow-up of 108 ± 66 months. A multivariate logistic model was used to evaluate variables independently associated with relapse. There were six soft-tissue or maxillary sinus relapses, with a recurrence rate of 10.9%. Most of them arose in patients previously treated. The statistical analysis identified the maxillary location as a fundamental relapse risk factor. En bloc resection with large surgical safety margins seemed to be effective in preventing the relapses. However, complete resection was less effective in preventing recurrences in the soft tissues or maxillary sinus.

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly affected the surgical units, especially those operating on the airways. This study evaluates the series of patients with tumors of the head and neck treated by our unit during Phase-1 of the pandemic and the efficacy of the preventive measures implemented for protecting both the patients and staff. A screening program was administered to all the patients who had to undergo surgery. None of the patients tested and operated during Phase 1, between 10 March and 18 May 2020, were positive for COVID-19. A significant portion of the patients was suffering from tumors in advanced stages (T3 and T4). Two patients developed respiratory symptoms during their stay at the unit, so they were put in precautionary isolation and tested, but resulted negative for COVID-19. All the surgical department staff followed the Italian Ministry of Health&rsquo, s prevention protocol and underwent serological testing. IgG and IgM were negative in everyone, thus confirming that nobody had been exposed to the virus. This study highlights the commitment to efficiently treating patients suffering from tumors of the head and neck region and confirms the effectiveness of the safety measures used to protect our patients and staff&rsquo, s health.
