In this study, we developed and tested various isospin symmetry-breaking (ISB) versions of the microscopic DJ16A interaction. Starting with the isospin symmetric DJ16A interaction, we introduced two different Coulomb interactions-Coulomb-CD and Coulomb-w/SRC-along with phenomenological charge symmetry breaking (CSB) and charge independence breaking (CIB) effects. We also considered CSB and CIB parts of the Argonne v18 (AV18) interaction. We examined two sets of interactions for each Coulomb interaction and employed these interactions to calculate $b$- and $c$-parameters of the isobaric multiplet mass equation for $|T_z| = 1/2$ and $|T_z| = 1$ nuclei across the $sd$-shell. Our results indicate that the DJ16A$^\dagger$+CD interaction provides the most accurate $b$-parameter predictions up to $A = 33$ mirror pairs. Additionally, we explored mirror energy differences (MEDs) in low-energy spectra around $A = 20$ and demonstrated that large MEDs are primarily associated with high occupancies of the $1s_{1/2}$ orbital. Furthermore, $E2$ transition strengths were calculated using all four DJ16A-based ISB interactions agreed with the experimental data, with minimal ISB effects observed on these transitions. Overall, the DJ16A$^\dagger$+CD interaction serves as a complementary set to the newly developed USD-family interactions, USDC, and USDCm and can be further tested for other mirror nuclei across the $sd$-shell to study nuclear structure properties and ISB effects in nuclear $\beta$-decay., Comment: 18 pages, 14 figures

The consistency between electron-scattering and proton-scattering is examined through the fourth moment of the charge distribution.

In the previous work, we discussed the cross section and the detection of 4.4-MeV $\gamma$ rays produced in the neutrino neutral-current (NC) reaction $^{16}$O($\nu, \nu^{\prime}$)$^{16}$O(12.97 MeV and 12.53 MeV, $2^-$) in a water Cherenkov detector at the low energy below 100 MeV. In this report, we further investigated both the charged-current (CC) reaction $^{16}$O($\bar\nu_e, e^+$)$^{16}$N(0 MeV, $2^-$) and the NC reaction$^{16}$O($\nu, \nu^{\prime}$)$^{16}$O(12.97 MeV and 12.53 MeV, $2^-$), producing high-energy $\gamma$ rays, in which the more solid identification of the reactions can be applied via the coincidence method., Comment: 16 pages, 5 figures, 6 tables

The moments of the charge distributions obtained by the analysis of electron-scattering data are examined in $^3$H and $^3$He. It is shown that the experimental form-factors are well explained, but the values of the moments of the charge distributions are not determined uniquly by the present analyses.

Herein, we investigate the zero-error randomized complexity, which is the least cost against the worst input, of AND-OR tree computation by imposing various restrictions on the algorithm to find the Boolean value of the root of that tree and no restrictions on the tree shape. When a tree satisfies a certain condition regarding its symmetry, directional algorithms proposed by Saks and Wigderson (1986), special randomized algorithms, are known to achieve the randomized complexity. Furthermore, there is a known example of a tree that is so unbalanced that no directional algorithm achieves the randomized complexity (Vereshchagin 1998). In this study, we aim to identify where deviations arise between the general randomized Boolean decision tree and its special case, directional algorithms. In this paper, we show that for any AND-OR tree, randomized depth-first algorithms, which form a broader class compared with directional algorithms, have the same equilibrium as that of the directional algorithms. Thus, we get the collapse result on equilibria inequalities that holds for an arbitrary AND-OR tree. This implies that there exists a case where even depth-first algorithms cannot be the fastest, leading to the separation result on equilibria inequality. The large-scale shell-model calculations have been performed for the neutron-rich nuclei in the south region of $^{208}$Pb in the nuclear chart. The $\beta$-decay properties, such as the $\log ft$, average shape factor values, half-lives, and partial decay rates are calculated for these neutron-rich nuclei using recent effective interaction for the $^{208}$Pb region. These calculations have been performed without truncation in a particular model space for nuclei $N\leq 126$; additionally, particle-hole excitations are included in the case of core-breaking nuclei ($Z\leq 82, N>126$). An extensive comparison with the experimental data has been made, and spin parities of several states have been proposed., Comment: 16 pages, 6 figures

Neutrino-nucleus reaction cross sections on 18O are evaluated by shell-model calculations and compared with those on 16O. Important contributions from Gamow-Teller transitions are noticed for 18O (\nu_e, e^{-})18F in contrary to the case for 16O, where spin-dipole transitions are dominant contributions. Calculated cross sections for 18O(\nu_e, e^{-})18F are shown to be larger than for 16O at low neutrino energies below 20 MeV in natural water with the 0.205% admixture of 18O due to the lower threshold energy (1.66 MeV) for 18O than that for 16O (15.42 MeV). The resulting electron spectra, that is, the cross sections as functions of emitted electron energy Te, are also shown to be quite different, reflecting the different threshold energies. The electron spectra from (\nu_e, e^{-}) reactions on 18O and 16O in water Cherenkov detectors for supernova neutrino detection are investigated for both the cases with and without the neutrino oscillation and compared with those of the neutrino-electron scattering. It has been shown that the contribution from 18O (0.205% mixture) enhances the rates from 16O by 60% for the case without the oscillation and by 20-30% for the case with the oscillation below Te =20 MeV. For the case with the neutrino oscillation, the event rates for 18O and 16O become comparable to those of the neutrino-electron scattering. However, their rates at low energy (Te < 20 MeV) are much smaller than those of the neutrino-electron scattering, which is important for the pointing accuracy to the supernova direction., Comment: 22 pages, 7 figures

Neutrino-induced reactions on $^{40}$Ar are investigated by shell model for Gamow-Teller transitions and random-phase-approximation (RPA) for forbidden transitions. For the 1$^{+}$ multipole, an effective interaction in $sd$-$pf$ shell obtained by the extended Kuo-Krenciglowa (EKK) method from chiral interactions is used to study $B(GT)$, charged-current reaction $^{40}$Ar ($\nu_e$, $e^{-}$) $^{40}$K, $B(M1)$ in $^{40}$Ar and neutral-current reaction $^{40}$Ar ($\nu$, $\nu$') $^{40}$Ar. A considerable quenching for spin modes is found in the analysis of $B(M1)$, and this quenching is taken into account for the evaluation of the cross sections of the neutral-current reaction. The sensitive dependence of the reaction cross sections on the quenching of the axial-vector coupling constant, $g_A$, is pointed out., Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures

An organoid is a three-dimensional (3D) in vitro cell culture emulating human organs. We applied 3D dynamic optical coherence tomography (DOCT) to visualize the intratissue and intracellular activities of human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs)-derived alveolar organoids in normal and fibrosis models. 3D DOCT data were acquired with an 840-nm spectral domain optical coherence tomography with axial and lateral resolutions of 3.8 {\mu}m (in tissue) and 4.9 {\mu}m, respectively. The DOCT images were obtained by the logarithmic-intensity-variance (LIV) algorithm, which is sensitive to the signal fluctuation magnitude. The LIV images revealed cystic structures surrounded by high-LIV borders and mesh-like structures with low LIV. The former may be alveoli with a highly dynamics epithelium, while the latter may be fibroblasts. The LIV images also demonstrated the abnormal repair of the alveolar epithelium.

We first discuss and determine the isospin mixing of the two $2^-$ states (12.53 MeV and 12.97 MeV) of $^{16}$O nucleus using the inelastic electron scattering data. We then evaluate the cross section of 4.4-MeV $\gamma$ rays produced in the neutrino neutral-current (NC) reaction $^{16}$O($\nu, \nu^{\prime}$)$^{16}$O$(12.97 {\rm MeV}, 2^-$) in a water Cherenkov detector at the low energy below 100 MeV. The detection of $\gamma$ rays for $E_{\gamma}>5$ MeV from the NC reaction $^{16}$O($\nu, \nu^{\prime}$)$^{16}$O$(E_x>16\ {\rm MeV}, T=1$) with a water Cherenkov detector in the supernova neutrino bursts has been proposed and discussed by several authors previously. In this article, we discuss a new NC reaction channel from $^{16}$O(12.97 ${\rm MeV}, 2^-$) producing a 4.4-MeV $\gamma$ ray, the cross section of which is more robust and even larger at the low energy ($E_{\nu}<25$ MeV) than the NC cross section from $^{16}$O$(E_x>16\ {\rm MeV}, T=1$). In this work, Na isotopes with mass varying from $A=$ 20 to 31 have been studied using DJ16A, JISP16 and N3LO microscopic effective interactions in the $sd$-shell. These effective interactions are derived for $sd$-shell using no-core shell model wavefunctions and a unitary transformation method. We have also performed calculation with IMSRG effective interactions targeted for a particular nucleus. The studies include a detailed analysis of ground state binding energy, low-lying spectra, and electromagnetic properties such as reduced electric quadrupole transition strengths, quadrupole and magnetic dipole moments of the Na chain. The results obtained from these microscopic effective interactions were compared with the experimental data as well as with the results of phenomenological interaction USDB. The charge radii of Na isotopes are evaluated using shell model harmonic oscillator wave functions. In addition to charge radii, matter radii and neutron skin thickness in the Na chain are discussed with a focus on neutron-deficient Na isotopes., Comment: 26 pages, 6 figures

In the present work, we report a comprehensive shell-model study of the $\log ft$ values for the forbidden $\beta^-$ decay transitions in the north-east region of $^{208}$Pb. For this we have considered $^{210-215}$Pb $\rightarrow$ $^{210-215}$Bi and $^{210-215}$Bi $\rightarrow$ $^{210-215}$Po transitions. We have performed shell-model calculation using KHPE interaction in valence shell 82-126 for protons and 126-184 for neutrons without any truncation. We have also calculated half-lives and Q-values for the concerned nuclei. Recently several $\log ft$ values are observed corresponding to $\beta^-$ decay from (8$^-$) isomeric state of $^{214}$Bi$^m$ at CERN-ISOLDE facility [Phys. Rev. Nuclear weak rates in stellar environments are obtained by shell-model calculations including Gamow-Teller (GT) and spin-dipole transitions, and applied to nuclear weak processes in stars. The important roles of accurate weak rates for the study of astrophysical processes are pointed out. The weak rates in $sd$-shell are used to study the evolution of ONeMg cores in stars with 8-10 M$_{\odot}$. Cooling of the core by nuclear Urca processes, and the heating by double e-captures on $^{20}$Ne are studied. Especially, the e-capture rates for a second-forbidden transition in $^{20}$Ne are evaluated with the multipole expansion method of Walecka and Behrens-B$\ddot{\mbox{u}}$hring, and the final fate of the cores, core-collapse or thermonuclear explosion, are discussed. The weak rates in $pf$-shell are applied to nucleosynthesis of iron-group elements in Type Ia supernovae. The over-production problem of neutron-rich iron isotopes compared with the solar abundances is now reduced to be within a factor of two. The weak rates for nuclear Urca pair with $A$=31 in the island of inversion are evaluated with the effective interaction obtained by the extended Kuo-Krenciglowa method. The transition strengths and e-capture rates in $^{78}$Ni, important for core-collapse processes, are evaluated with the $pf$-$sdg$ shell, and compared with those obtained by the random-phase-approximation and an effective rate formula. $\beta$-decay rates of $N$ =126 isotones are evaluated with both the GT and first-forbidden transitions. The half-lives are found to be shorter than those obtained by standard models. Neutrino-nucleus reaction cross sections on $^{13}$C, $^{16}$O and $^{40}$Ar are obtained with new shell-model Hamiltonians. The neutron-skin thickness of asymmetric semi-infinite nuclear matter is shown to be a function of Coulomb energy, the asymmetry-energy coefficient($J$), the slope($L$) of the asymmetry energy, and the incompressibility coefficient, in addition to he Fermi momentum and the asymmetry parameter. The relational formula is derived on the basis of the Hugenholtz-Van Hove theorem in the mean-field approximation for nuclear matter. Using the formula as a guide, the neutron-skin thickness($\delta R$) in $^{208}$Pb is examined. The linear correlation between $L$ and $\delta R$ appears as a kind of spurious ones through the model-dependent correlation of $L$ with $J$ which is included in the main components of the formula.

We aim to study the properties of nuclei in the south region of $^{208}$Pb systematically, including the binding and excitation energies and electromagnetic properties, in order to predict unknown properties of these nuclei, such as isomerism, utilizing a theoretical model which describes the experimentally known properties precisely. We also address whether the $N=126$ shell closure is robust or not when the proton number decreases from $^{208}$Pb.
