In view of the fragile ecological health of the Futian mangrove wetland ecosystem, an index system for evaluating ecosystem health of the Futian mangrove wetland was established based on the ‘pressure-state-response’ (PSR) model. The ecosystem health evaluation of the Futian mangrove wetland was carried out based on three aspects: pressure subsystem, state subsystem and response subsystem. Analytical hierarchy process (AHP) was used to determine the index weight. The index system is established and evaluated by the comprehensive index method. The results showed that the ecosystem health index of the Futian mangrove wetland was 0.25262. According to ecosystem health assessment criteria, it falls into the ‘poor’ range. Based on our assessment, we consider that the structure and function of the Futian mangrove wetland ecosystem are degraded, that there has been a decline in biodiversity and that the prevailing environmental problems are serious. The results of this study can provide an effective scientific basis for the management of the Futian mangrove wetland ecosystem.

RAD52 plays crucial roles in several aspects of mammalian cells, including DNA double-strand breaks repair, viral infection, cancer development, and antibody class switching. To comprehensively elucidate the role of RAD52 in maintaining genome stability and uncover additional functions of RAD52 in mammals, we performed the transcriptomics and proteomics analysis of the liver of RAD52 knockout mice. Transcriptomics analysis reveals overexpression of mitochondrial genes in the liver of RAD52 knockout (RAD52KO) mice. Proteomics analysis of RAD52KO mice shows that damage recognition proteins Cul4b and Rad23a in the process of nucleotide excision repair pathway are overexpressed. Furthermore, gene ontology and KEGG enrichment analysis (accessed on 20 November 2024) from integrated omics shows that differentially expressed genes are significantly enriched in pathways related to mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation and nucleotide metabolism in the liver of RAD52KO mice. In addition, mRNA and protein levels of Bhmt1b are elevated in the liver of RAD52KO mice. Taken together, this study provides valuable insights into the function and mechanism of RAD52. Current agricultural practices face numerous challenges, including declining soil fertility and heavy reliance on chemical inputs. Rhizosphere microbial metabolites have emerged as promising agents for enhancing crop health and yield in a sustainable manner. These metabolites, including phytohormones, antibiotics, and volatile organic compounds, play critical roles in promoting plant growth, boosting resistance to pathogens, and improving resilience to environmental stresses. This review comprehensively outlines the mechanisms through which rhizosphere microbial metabolites influence crop health, traits, functional components, and yield. It also discusses the potential applications of microbial secondary metabolites in biofertilizers and highlights the challenges associated with their production and practical use. Measures to overcome these challenges are proposed, alongside an exploration of the future development of the functional fertilizer industry. The findings presented here provide a scientific basis for utilizing rhizosphere microbial metabolites to enhance agricultural sustainability, offering new strategies for future crop management. Integrating these microbial strategies could lead to increased crop productivity, improved quality, and reduced dependence on synthetic chemical inputs, thereby supporting a more environmentally friendly and resilient agricultural system. Maintaining soil health is fundamental to sustaining agricultural productivity, however, the intricate role of soil microbial diversity in this process is not fully understood. Current research acknowledges that soil microorganisms including bacteria, fungi, and archaea are pivotal in driving essential soil functions such as nutrient cycling, organic matter decomposition, and disease suppression. However, the impacts of global environmental changes and intensive agricultural practices on the diversity of these microorganisms remain a critical gap in the literature. This gap is significant because a decline in microbial diversity could severely compromise soil health, and consequently crop productivity. Here, we provide a comprehensive review of the factors influencing soil microbial diversity and examine their implications for crop performance. We assess both natural factors such as soil pH, moisture, temperature, and vegetation type as well as human-induced factors including tillage systems and fertilizer application. The review synthesizes recent findings on how these factors shape microbial communities and their functional roles in nutrient cycling, soil structure formation, and disease suppression. Our analysis highlights the mechanisms by which microbial diversity enhances plant growth and yield, addressing the gap in understanding the direct links between microbial diversity and agricultural outcomes. Our findings underscore the urgent need for sustainable agricultural practices that protect and enhance microbial diversity to safeguard long-term soil fertility and crop productivity. By addressing the challenges in manipulating soil microbial communities and integrating microbial ecology with crop management practices, this research advances our ability to sustain agricultural systems in the face of global environmental changes. Background: Double eyelid blepharoplasty is the most popular cosmetic operation in Asian population. Various surgical techniques have been developed in order to create dynamic eyelid folds with natural‐looking in recent years, but postoperative complications like so‐called sausage‐like appearance have not been resolved completely. Aims: To create natural‐looking dynamic folds, we propose a new method imitating the original anatomical structure of congenital double‐eyelid. Patients and Methods: Eighty‐six patients who underwent the double‐eyelid surgery from June 1st, 2018 to October 31st, 2020 were included in this retrospective study, including 10 males and 76 females, aged 18–39 years (mean 27.4 ± 5.6 years). All the included patients received double eyelid surgery performed by the same senior doctor, using the pretarsal orbicularis oculi muscle‐releasing technique. Patient Reported Outcome Measures questionnaires were administrated to assess the severity of scarring, pain, and asymmetry, as well as functional and appearance issues. Surgical outcome was assessed through objective and subjective evaluation forms (PROM and patient satisfaction rate). Results: Among the 86 patients, 5 were lost during the follow‐up period. The absolute number of enrolled patients is 81. 91.36% of the enrolled patients reported minimal or non‐visible scarring at the double eyelid incision. As to functional and appearance issues, the main problem were asymmetry (12.35%) and the narrowing of the supratarsal crease width (8.64%). No supratarsal depression and "sausage‐like" appearance occurred in this study. 95.1% of patients reported either good or excellent outcome (mean score: 108 of 120) based on analysis of PROM results, and 96.3% of patients reported either high or very high satisfaction (mean score: 96 of 120) for the patient satisfaction assessment. Abstract\nHIGHLIGHTSBuckwheat (Fagopyrum spp.) is a typical pseudocereal, valued for its extensive nutraceutical potential as well as its centuries-old cultivation. Tartary buckwheat and common buckwheat have been used globally and become well-known nutritious foods due to their high quantities of: proteins, flavonoids, and minerals. Moreover, its increasing demand makes it critical to improve nutraceutical, traits and yield. In this review, bioactive compounds accumulated in buckwheat were comprehensively evaluated according to their chemical structure, properties, and physiological function. Biosynthetic pathways of flavonoids, phenolic acids, and fagopyrin were methodically summarized, with the regulation of flavonoid biosynthesis. Although there are classic synthesis pathways presented in the previous research, the metabolic flow of how these certain compounds are being synthesized in buckwheat still remains uncovered. The functional genes involved in the biosynthesis of flavonols, stress response, and plant development were identified based on multi-omics research. Furthermore, it delves into the applications of multi-omics in improving buckwheat’s agronomic traits, including: yield, nutritional content, stress resilience, and bioactive compounds biosynthesis. While pangenomics combined with other omics to mine elite genes, the regulatory network and mechanism of specific agronomic traits and biosynthetic of bioactive components, and developing a more efficient genetic transformation system for genetic engineering require further investigation for the execution of breeding designs aimed at enhancing desirable traits in buckwheat.
