Recurrent implantation failure (RIF) has been used to describe embryos' failure to implant following IVF, arising concerns about the importance of its treatment. Growth hormone (GH) has been studied as one of the possible co-interventions. Our updated review evaluated GH intervention vs. no intervention from randomized controlled trials (RCTs) in RIF patients. Electronic searches on The Menstrual Disorders and Subfertility Group (MDSG), The Cochrane Central Register for Clinical Trials, PubMed MEDLINE, EMBASE, PsycINFO, CINAHL, LILACS, and Google Scholar up to August 2021 identified 2 RCTs and compiled with the above inclusion criteria. The risk of bias (ROB) and the quality of evidence were assessed according to the Cochrane Collaboration tool and GRADE group guidelines. Meta-analysis found higher rates of clinical pregnancy (OR: 4.97 CI 95% 2.05 to 12.05), live birth (OR: 5.13 CI 95% 2.03 to 12.91), and implantation (OR: 3.88 CI 95% 1.91 to 7.88) when compared GH to no intervention; as well as an increased endometrial thickness (mean difference: 1.14 CI 95% -0.0 to 2.28). However, this review cannot provide a strong recommendation due to the quality of evidence rated as "very low quality of evidence" in all the outcomes for reasons such as methodology issues, heterogeneity, intervention regimen, and limited sample sizes with large confidence intervals and a low number of events. We emphasize the importance of upcoming high-quality research and the need for consensus concepts in RIF patients, which may be a minority; it is still one of the highest impacts on life quality.

Stand up paddle na educação física escolar: desenvolvimento do projeto e memórias discentes ResumoO objetivo desta pesquisa foi descrever o projeto “Herdeiros do Futuro”, realizado por duas das autoras deste artigo em uma escola pública em Santa Catarina, e verificar as memórias que permaneceram para os alunos que participaram do projeto. No primeiro momento, utilizou-se o método descritivo para detalhar o desenvolvimento do projeto, que contou com a participação de 388 alunos de uma escola pública do município de Garopaba-SC, entre meninos e meninas, matriculados no pré-escolar e nos anos iniciais do ensino fundamental. Já no segundo momento, foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas com 23 alunos matriculados nos 4º e 5º anos do ensino fundamental da mesma escola, que haviam participado do projeto. A análise das entrevistas foi feita a partir da identificação de unidades de significado e da categorização, seguindo a metodologia da análise de conteúdo.Palavras-chave: Educação Física Escolar. In the first stage, a descriptive method was used to detail the development of the project, in which 388 students from a public school in Garopaba-SC participated, including boys and girls enrolled in preschool and the early years of elementary school. In the second stage, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 23 students enrolled in the 4th and 5th grades of elementary school of the same school who had participated in the project. Este artigo tem por objetivo investigar, à luz de pressupostos teóricos gerativos, as estruturas relativas, completivas, interrogativas e negativas na língua falada pelos Oro Waram e Oro Waram Xijein (família Txapakura). Em termos teóricos, propomos um paralelismo que se evidencia por meio da instanciação do núcleo de CP por meio das partículas complementizadoras ko e ka. Ademais, tais construções nos fornecem um ambiente sintático suficiente para demonstrar que a escolha de cada um dos paradigmas de concordância depende essencialmente da posição sintática de cada um dos seus argumentos. Há um paradigma para sujeitos movidos e outro para sujeitos in situ, ao passo que a concordância com o objeto se realiza apenas em contexto de não movimento.

Time series forecasting is an important research topic applied to various areas of human knowledge, such as economics, medicine, meteorology, and engineering. The forecasting results can assist the decision-making process, providing useful projections to specialists. In this paper, a hybrid approach named Parallel Recursive Singular Spectrum Analysis and Evolving Neuro-Fuzzy Network (PRSSA+ENFN) for forecasting univariate and multivariate experimental time series, with learning from data streams composed of time series samples, is presented. The adopted methodology considers an evolving neuro-fuzzy basis, i.e., the PRSSA+ENFN adapts, extends, and evolves the fuzzy rule structure from new incoming data of the time series. The time series is subdivided into unobservable components, which are patterns contained in the data, and the neuro-fuzzy network forecasts these component samples so to reconstruct the original time series considering future values. An alternative to determine the specific parameters of PRSSA+ENFN is the application of a genetic algorithm. Four multi-steps ahead forecasting experiments are outlined with univariate and multivariate time series. Finally, some competitive results in relation to other methods in literature are discussed.

Aim Persistent post-surgical pain (PPSP) is one of the most frequent complication after surgery and has important socio-economic consequences. Materials and methods We performed an observational analysis of the patients submitted to surgical correction of ventral hernia repair at our University Hospital between 1st February 2021 and 1st January 2022.We registered data about perioperative surgical period. After at least 3 months we proceeded with a phone interview in order to record the incidence of PPSP according to its definition. Results We enrolled 61 patients and 26 patients were lost to follow-up. 9 patients (25%) denveloped chronic pain after surgery and 3 cases reported pain that had deteriorated the quality of life (PPSP group).In the PPSP group median age was 53; obesity, COPD, diabetes mellitus, smoking status, were not significant (p > 0,05). Male sex, previous abdominal surgery and open approach showed correlation with PPSP onset. In our cohort demographical and clinical characteristics were not statistically related to PPSP, while the use of locoregional anesthesia could be protective in front of PPSP onset. Conclusion At the moment, although there is no shared protocol in the prevention of PPSP, it is possible to implement some interventions to reduce its risk. Our results show that more effective analgesic/anesthetic perioperative measures may help to prevent the adverse consequences of poorly controlled pain, including its transition to PPSP. The main limits of our data is the small cohort analysed and the study protocol without an analysis about immediate postoperative pain and PPSP outbreak.

REGULUS is an Iodine-based electric propulsion system. It has been designed and manufactured at the Italian company Technology for Propulsion and Innovation SpA (T4i). REGULUS integrates the Magnetically Enhanced Plasma Thruster (MEPT) and its subsystems, namely electronics, fluidic, and thermo-structural in a volume of 1.5 U. The mass envelope is 2.5 kg, including propellant. REGULUS targets CubeSat platforms larger than 6 U and CubeSat carriers. A thrust T = 0.60 mN and a specific impulse Isp = 600 s are achieved with an input power of P = 50 W; the nominal total impulse is Itot = 3000 Ns. REGULUS has been integrated on-board of the UniSat-7 satellite and its In-orbit Demonstration (IoD) is currently ongoing. The principal topics addressed in this work are: (i) design of REGULUS, (ii) comparison of the propulsive performance obtained operating the MEPT with different propellants, namely Xenon and Iodine, (iii) qualification and acceptance tests, (iv) plume analysis, (v) the IoD.

Oxygen and carbon isotopes of well-preserved skeletal remains give relevant support to archaeological and environmental reconstructions. However, the preservation of the skeletal remains must be preliminarily checked. About twenty-five years ago, a diagnostic method based on the oxygen isotope ratio in the phosphate, δ(O18/O16)Ph, and carbonate, δ(O18/O16)Carb, of bioapatite of modern mammals was proposed: for well-preserved samples, the δ(O18/O16)Ph and δ(O18/O16)Carbshould plot near the regression line δ(O18/O16)Ph on δ(O18/O16)Carb obtained for modern mammals. In the last twenty years, techniques of analysis have changed. In the past, BiPO4or Ag3PO4were precipitated from dissolved bioapatite and analysed with the fluorination technique, whereas at present, temperature reduction (HTR) in a glassy carbon reactor with COrelease is commonly used. Taking into account the HTR technique, for some modern mammals, we report a newδ(O18/O16)Ph + 1 on δ(O18/O16)Carb + 1 regression line, and related dispersion of the data that, in addition to mineralogical and structural methods, may be used to select samples reliable for archaeological use. In the past, other similar regression lines on modern mammals were defined by several authors. However, statistical results indicate that data used for these regression lines cannot be pooled because the hypothesis of a similar elevation is rejected.

Nomeadamente, ele aborda a variação lexical documentada no interior paulista como resposta à pergunta “Como se chama um rio pequeno, estreito, de uns dois metros de largura?”. A rede de pontos é constituída pelos municípios de Santana de Parnaíba, Pirapora do Bom Jesus, Araçariguama, São Roque, Sorocaba, Itu, Porto Feliz, Tietê, Capivari e Piracicaba, integrantes da região do Médio Tietê, considerada berço da cultura caipira (GARCIA, 2011; PAZETTI, 2014). Com aporte teórico-metodológico da Dialetologia Pluridimensional (RADTKE; THUN, 1996; THUN, 2000, 2005, entre outros), 13 covariantes lexicais foram coletadas de 80 informantes. Dessas formas, as mais frequentes e relevantes estão cartografadas e quantitativamente tratadas em correlação com variáveis diatópica, diastrática, diagenérica e diageracional. Um conjunto de conclusões é apresentado, entre as quais a de que Santana de Parnaíba é o ponto mais conservador da rede de pontos, dividido alternadamente entre o uso do grupo covariante ‹córrego›/‹corgo› e o uso da covariante ‹riacho›, e, inversamente, a de que Tietê é o ponto mais inovador, dividido simultaneamente entre o uso do grupo covariante ‹córrego›/‹corgo›, o uso da covariante ‹riacho› e o uso da covariante ‹ribeirão›. It is well defined that ovarian steroids play a role in the cardiovascular system, acting as vasoactive compounds. The aim of this study is to assess the endothelial function during the menstrual cycle using flow-mediated dilation of the brachial artery.A total of 21 healthy premenopausal women, with regular menstrual cycles, were included in this observational, longitudinal, and prospective study. The endothelium function was assessed by ultrasound during four phases of the menstrual cycle: early follicular phase (EFP), late follicular phase (LFP), early luteal phase (ELP) and late luteal phase (LLP).We observed a significant variation among the vasodilatation response during the menstrual cycle phases (P0.001). The result was higher during LFP than during ELP (P0.001) or LLP (P0.001). Late luteal phase had higher response than observed during ELP (P=0.003) and EFP was higher than LLP (P=0.003). There were no significant differences between the results observed during EFP and LFP (P=1.0), or EFP and ELP (P=0.137).Our results suggest that the ovarian steroids may play an important role in modulating endothelial function.

BACKGROUND: High intraoperative PEEP with recruitment manoeuvres may improve perioperative outcomes. We re-examined this question by conducting a patient-level meta-analysis of three clinical trials in adult patients at increased risk for postoperative pulmonary complications who underwent non-cardiothoracic and non-neurological surgery. METHODS: The three trials enrolled patients at 128 hospitals in 24 countries from February 2011 to February 2018. All patients received volume-controlled ventilation with low tidal volume. Analyses were performed using one-stage, two-level, mixed modelling (site as a random effect; trial as a fixed effect). The primary outcome was a composite of postoperative pulmonary complications within the first week, analysed using mixed-effect logistic regression. Pre-specified subgroup analyses of nine patient characteristics and seven procedure and care-delivery characteristics were also performed. RESULTS: Complete datasets were available for 1913 participants ventilated with high PEEP and recruitment manoeuvres, compared with 1924 participants who received low PEEP. The primary outcome occurred in 562/1913 (29.4%) participants randomised to high PEEP, compared with 620/1924 (32.2%) participants randomised to low PEEP (unadjusted odds ratio [OR]=0.87; 95% confidence interval [95% CI], 0.75-1.01; P=0.06). Higher PEEP resulted in 87/1913 (4.5%) participants requiring interventions for desaturation, compared with 216/1924 (11.2%) participants randomised to low PEEP (OR=0.34; 95% CI, 0.26-0.45). Intraoperative hypotension was associated more frequently (784/1913 [41.0%]) with high PEEP, compared with low PEEP (579/1924 [30.1%]; OR=1.87; 95% CI, 1.60-2.17). CONCLUSIONS: High PEEP combined with recruitment manoeuvres during low tidal volume ventilation in patients undergoing major surgery did not reduce postoperative pulmonary complications.
