Social work curricula have evolved to include anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion (ADEI) as a critical lens for working with community members across the micro, mezzo, and macro levels of practice. However, the research to support best practices for teaching ADEI praxis is minimal. Consequently, the unclear guidance translates into students being unprepared for anti-racism praxis in their practicum settings, which may result in them being harmed, as well as being the perpetrators of harm. To address this gap, one school of social work developed a pre-practicum lab for generalist practice in its Master of Social Work program. In this Lab, students learn the cornerstones of reflection, self-awareness, self-regulation and how to engage within a practicum environment using an ADEI lens. This paper describes the state of ADEI in social work education, the development, and design of the Lab in response to the situation, its implementation, and implications for social work education. The process of becoming a teacher is complex and involves enormous challenges for student teachers. Without a doubt, among the most decisive ones is the initiation into professional practice during the practicum. This qualitative interpretive study analyses the practicum reports (narratives) of 15 primary education students from the Dialogical Self Theory. The study seeks to identify the voices that nourish their professional identity, the I-positions (I-p) that arise when coping with critical incidents (CI) experienced during the practicum, and analyse how the different I-ps contribute to an agential transition of the identity from student to teacher. The results point out that the significant voices that nourish the identity of the students in training come from teachers and family members. When confronting CIs, the I-p of I-student predominated, and difficulties are experienced in deploying other professional I-ps. These also highlight the contribution of different I-ps towards the development of the students' identity-agency, particularly of the I-p of I-future-teacher (possible self). International pre-service teachers (PSTs) can struggle to engage with Professional Experience (PE) communities in an Australian Early Childhood Education context. This qualitative case study examines three first-year Chinese international PSTs' PE in different early childhood settings in Australia. Framed by Bourdieu's analytical concepts, this paper explores Chinese PSTs' culturally shaped understanding of PE and mentoring expectations, showing how this dimension of their habitus is differentiated and differentiating. We argue that with a supportive learning community, the rich cultural and linguistic repertoire of international PSTs can add to capital and funds of knowledge of Australian Early Childhood Education. Mentoring aimed at professional development of preservice teachers (PTs) in teacher education is a complex practice. The use of tools has potential to enhance mentoring practices; however, research on using tools in mentoring is often focused on applying a single tool. This qualitative study analyses two dyads of mentor and PT's structured and holistic mentoring with tools. The tools were developed to elicit PTs' diverse needs in practicum; the three tool-packages build on a a) simulator-based tool, b) response-based tool, and c) video-based tool. Further, the theory of practice architecture (TPA) provided a frame to understand mentoring practices with the holistic use of tools as interplay among cultural – discursive, material – economic, and social – political arrangements. The findings indicate that tools prefigure participants' talk as well as how they act and relate to each other and the tools. The traditional method of chalk and talk in a classroom setting is continuously being integrated with Web 2.0 to enhance learning for 21st century students. This study is an action research project that aims to investigate challenges in preparing practicum reports and to evaluate the Dotstorming web tool's suitability to enhance practicum report writing. Utilising multiple methods to collect data such as online feedback, Dotstorming participation analysis, and instructors' reflection, this study investigates the processes by which students develop their collaborative learning to improve their practicum report writing. The project comprised three main phases. In the first phase, a survey was conducted with 14 practicum students from the Bachelor of Event Management (BEM) program at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) to identify the issues they encountered while preparing their practicum report. Following this, in the second to fourth phase, three intervention cycles using Dotstorming were established to improve students' collaborative learning and report writing. The last phase involved an overall reflection of this digital tool for practicum report writing. The findings reveal students' positive feedback regarding the benefits of Dotstorming in assisting with practicum report writing, including help in generating and brainstorming ideas. The results of this study demonstrate the value of Dotstorming in promoting collaborative activities and its positive influence on students' learning outcomes. Outcomes from this study can help decision-makers, researchers, and academicians to understand the potential of using the Dotstorming tool in promoting knowledge sharing and critical thinking in students' knowledge construction. Although there is considerable research from Australia demonstrating that work-integrated learning (WIL) helps higher music education (HME) students develop their professional skills, there is little evidence from Europe. WIL involves the integration of theory and practice and workbased experiential learning is an important component of this process, giving students opportunities to become self-reflective in their application of theoretical principles in a work context. The aim of this project was to understand how practicums were implemented in European conservatoires and what political drivers and pedagogies underpinned them. A survey of conservatoires and semi-structured interviews with staff, students and placement hosts were analysed. Survey results show that 74.3% of respondents said their institutions offered undergraduate placements. Themes relating to the educational and political drivers, ethical issues, barriers to provision and challenges were derived from the interview data. Our findings suggest that although placements are varied in terms of preparation, support and assessment, they are highly valued by all stakeholder groups and sometimes pivotal in the development of musical identities. We hope our findings can help HME institutions understand the value in giving students opportunities to apply knowledge and skills in professional contexts and inspire the establishment of practicum programmes where they do not already exist. AbstractObjective: While previous survey research has focused on various training constituencies such as trainees, and postdoctoral/internship supervisors, no previous survey research has examined the needs and perspectives of practicum level supervisors and training programs. This study was designed to address this limitation. These results were used in forming the North American Association of Practicum Sites in Neuropsychology (NAPSN). Method: A 41-item survey was developed and distributed to practicum supervisors across the United States and Canada via listserv. A total of 142 supervisors completed the survey; the majority were employed at academic medical centers (62%) and located in the U.S. (93%). Most participants evaluated adults (61%), while a minority evaluated children (27%), or patients across the lifespan (12%). Results: Most respondents supervise one (44%) or two (26%) students per year and prefer advanced trainees (>90%). The majority (78%) indicated students see one case per week. The number of clinical contact hours and reports varied based on location (U.S. vs. Canada) and population (adult vs. pediatric). Supervisors found professional papers and publicly available didactics to be the most helpful resources. Commonly endorsed needs included help with policies and procedures (53%), supervising trainees from underrepresented groups (49%) and nontraditional backgrounds (44%), and access to didactics (49%). Conclusions: The survey provided insights into current practices and the needs of practicum supervisors. These findings will inform NAPSN’s development of materials and policies to support trainees and supervisors and can guide other professionals in supporting their practicum trainees as they navigate training in neuropsychology. Informed by the cultural-historical approach, this phenomenological study examined a group of Chinese EFL (English as a foreign language) teacher educators' views about the practicum. Longitudinal observations, individual formal interviews and informal conversations were employed to understand the supervisors' perceptions about the problems arising from the practicum and strategies to enhance it. The results reveal three key problems, including supervisors' limited involvement, limited support from the university and practicum schools, and interns' weaknesses. The countermeasures involve the initiative of student teachers and a stable collaborative platform. Background: This case study explores the dynamic inclusion of interprofessional education (IPE) in Lehman College Undergraduate Social Work Program, a Hispanic-Serving Institution in the Bronx. Objectives: We aim to contextualize the case within social work's historical engagement in healthcare and evolving interprofessional practices, with an emphasis on the role of social work in healthcare. Methods: A comprehensive literature review was conducted to connect theoretical foundations to practical implementation, highlighting IPE's significance as a student-centered pedagogy and its potential impact on patient care. The narrative details the transition from individual classroom use to widespread adoption in the practicum seminars in the undergraduate program. Results: The program demonstrates a proactive response to healthcare changes, underscoring a commitment to comprehensive education. Conclusion: This case study makes Lehman College's program a valuable resource for educators, practitioners, and policymakers by showcasing its effective incorporation of IPE, ultimately enhancing patient care through improved interprofessional collaboration. The scarcity of studies dedicated to the integration of educational robotics (ER) in teaching mathematical content, and the discomfort of teachers when integrating ER in their teaching practices make it pertinent to understand the development of the didactic knowledge of mathematics necessary to integrate ER in mathematics teaching practices during initial teacher training. This qualitative and interpretive study identifies the knowledge of the didactic dimension from the didactic-mathematical knowledge conceptual framework that is mobilized by pre-service teachers (PST) during the implementation of mathematical tasks that integrate ER during the practicum. Through content analysis of the data collected on the PST's performance, we mapped the occurrence and co-occurrence based on the components of the didactic suitability criteria. From the results, we highlight: (i) the existence of a relationship between the mathematical knowledge needed to teach, knowledge of the mathematics curriculum, and knowledge of ER and how its integration in the teaching process can influence the learning process and (ii) the positive contribution of the implementation in the practicum of mathematical tasks that promote robot manipulation/programming at the same time as the exploration of the mathematical content for the development of the participants' didactic knowledge of mathematics. A practical implication of our results is that these features should be part of future work dedicated to integrating ER in mathematics teaching practices of PST, aiming to assess their value in initial teacher training programs. This study aimed to develop and evaluate an instrument for measuring 21st-century workplace skills in on-the-job training (OJT) trainees. A literature review identified 20 key skills, which became the foundation of the instrument. Its validity and reliability were tested through a pilot study involving 20 OJT supervisors, employing methods like the item-level content validity index (I-CVI) and Cronbach's alpha. The results confirmed the instrument's effectiveness, indicating the need for further research with larger and more diverse samples to enhance its applicability. This tool is crucial in improving OJT programs by enabling supervisors to assess and support trainees more effectively. The COVID-19 pandemic induced a marked transformation in higher education worldwide in the wake of social distancing. From course delivery to pedagogical style and student assessment, the educational landscape has altered, necessitating more creative and compatible approaches to support student learning. Intertwined with this phenomenon are the systemic, pedagogical, and technological challenges for the faculty supervising field students in the digital environment. Social work education is no exception. This article offers a brief overview of pandemic and post-pandemic related literature of online social work field education, shares faculty field educators’ reflections on challenges and opportunities associated with remote field supervision, and offers recommendations for future delivery during a pandemic or natural disaster, such as using a trauma-informed lens and Spiritually Informed Pedagogy for teaching and field supervision. Securing social work field placements is increasingly becoming a challenge for social work education around the globe. In response to an unexpected and sudden shortage of field placements in a small primarily undergraduate university near Toronto, Canada, the authors developed an in-house Stress Reduction Peer Support (SRPS) pilot project to provide 12 third-year undergraduate students with the 240 placement hours required to complete their Bachelor of Social Work degree. In-depth interviews with eight of the 12 practicum students revealed support for the idea of the in-house SRPS placement. However, practicum students also expressed the need for improvements if such an unconventional placement were to be offered again. These included the importance of advanced planning for in-house placements, ensuring students do not have unrealistic expectations about placements, allowing students to choose whether to participate in unconventional placements, ensuring the educational content of the placement aligns with what students are learning in their courses, being clear about how each component of the placement aligns with social work anti-oppressive practice, and ensuring sufficient social work-specific supervision. The use of real-plays as opposed to role-plays was questioned, especially regarding students' discomfort with sharing personal and sensitive information and submitting video-recordings via the Internet. We examined the degree that optimism and hope predicted coping and perceived competence in counselling psychology practicum students. Masters students from a Northern California university (N = 74) completed surveys at four points during practicum year: (T1) baseline, (T2) one month, (T3) mid-year, and (T4) final month. Measures assessed dispositional optimism and hope, adaptive and maladaptive coping, and perceived clinical competence. Over time, self-reported competence increased. There was a T1 optimism X time Interaction predicting perceived competence, but no T1 hope X time interaction. This interaction continued to be significant when covarying adaptive and maladaptive coping and appeared driven by the fact that low-optimism trainees initially had worse perceived competence than high-optimism trainees. In the absence of previous counselling experience, there was a relationship between trainees' levels of optimism and their perceived clinical competence. Specifically, low-optimism students saw themselves as less competent at baseline than high-optimism students, but this perceived competence subsequently increased over time, with both groups seeing themselves as similarly competent by end of year. Past authors theorized that individuals with high levels of positive expectancies initially overestimate their abilities in novel situations. This may explain why high-optimism students rated their competence as relatively great at baseline. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Entrustable professional activities (EPAs) are used in competency-based clinical assessment. Problem: Faculty in a Family Nurse Practitioner program aimed to improve their clinical assessment tool to more effectively measure students' clinical performance, outline expectations, track progress, and document evidence related to clinical competence. Approach: EPAs that aligned with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Essentials and National Organization of Nurse Practitioner (NP) Faculties Core NP Competencies were integrated into a clinical assessment tool. Student performance expectations at different points in the program were outlined. Students documented each time they performed an EPA during clinical experiences. Outcome: The EPA-based clinical assessment tool captured valuable information about student performance during clinical experiences and contributed to evidence related to competencies. Conclusions: EPAs can be used to assess clinical performance and document evidence of competence and readiness for practice. Music therapy educators are tasked by the American Music Therapy Association with creating practica placements for students. However, open-ended instructions result in many differing structures of placements and no formal guidelines or codifying supports for educators working with community partners. The purpose of this descriptive survey study was to provide an understanding of music therapy educators' perspectives on successful and challenging elements of community partnerships and evaluative factors educators use when creating, monitoring, or discontinuing practica placements. Of the 139 participants, 100 currently teach or previously taught music therapy, and their quantitative and qualitative responses were included in data analysis. Educators perceived relational elements of partnerships as greater contributors to success than logistical elements. They identified pro-active and consistent communication (23.69%, n  = 59), commitment to the partnership (18.07%, n  = 45), and partners' perception of students providing meaningful services (18.07%, n  = 45) as necessary to successful partnerships. The most prominent challenging element was partners who did not value or understand music therapy. However, only 2.9% of educators (n  = 2) indicated teaching partners about music therapy and its benefits as a part of their processes for establishing and monitoring community partnerships. The recognition that education and advocacy of music therapy play an underlying role in practica relationships can help guide educators toward more successful partnerships. This systematic literature review was conducted to analyse the existing literature on the internship programme in library and information science (LIS) education. The review was guided by the RAMESES (Realist and Meta-Narrative Evidence Syntheses: Evolving Standards) method. The data source was Scopus, Web of Science and Google Scholar. In addition to the three main phases of the review process, mainly identification, screening, and eligibility, data abstraction and analysis are also reported. Findings reveal that studies on LIS internship have focused on satisfaction, educational benefits, educational setting, programme design and roles of the stakeholders involved in internship programmes. Modernising the LIS Internship programme requires a focus on the design of the programme structure with an emphasis on the learning outcomes relating to career readiness. Collaborative learning, service-learning and personal objectives are found to be beneficial. However, there is also an increasing demand for needs of the stakeholders and not just the student-centred learning. Further works into the assessment of the learning outcomes is recommended by the literature. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The initial training of future teachers in pre-primary and primary education is of major importance for the quality of education of pre-school and early school-age children. It involves preparing students, for a teaching career and involves both theoretical training and practical introduction to teaching. The practical part of training is done usually in partnership of university institutions, with the schools of practice. Concerns about the different aspects of practice are visible in studies looking at how the practice programs are conceptualised, run, organised, and evaluated, from the perspectives of people involved: student, mentor, and university coordinator. Trying to understand how practicum is done within the frame of interinstitutional collaboration and shared responsibility, drawing on the theory of the third space, a systematic literature review was conducted to answer: How is the pedagogical practice of future primary and pre-school teachers researched from the perspective of the coordinator-student-mentor triad? 96 studies were selected, based on criteria related to issue researched, methodology used, categories of participants in the study, and results obtained. The analysis showed that most of the studies are qualitative, with relatively small numbers of subjects, most frequently students. The findings reflect the impact of the practice on each category of partners and the various facets of collaboration between those involved, as well as highlighting areas that the research did not fully address and require further investigation. The findings also highlight aspects to be considered for the further improvement of the teaching practice part of the initial teacher training programs.

The concepts of bacteriology are still poorly understood by students of the Department of Biology Education, Mulawarman University. Certain ethnic characteristics influence student learning processes and outcomes. A quasi-experiment was carried out at the Department of Biology Education, Mulawarman University in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The aim of the research was to map members of ethnic-based practicum groups in bacteriology practicum in an effort to empower understanding of bacteriology concepts. Ethnic-based practicum means that the practicum is carried out taking into account the ethnic diversity that exists in each group in the class. The research sample was class A and class B students who were taking a bacteriology practicum program. The research instruments were questionnaires and test questions. Data analysis techniques are percentage and covariance analysis. If there is a significant influence, then proceed with Least Significance analysis Difference. The results of data analysis show that there is a significant influence between the application of the product (a Project-Based Learning-based practicum guide) on understanding the concept of bacteriology as a result of development (p˂0.00). The research sample was class A and class B students who were taking a bacteriology practicum program. For further research, practical material needs to be supplemented with other bacteriological materials, and involve more ethnic types.

The difficulties and tasks of using software when applying hybrid learning technologies in the design of digital devices are considered. The composition of the device under study has been determined. Indicators of training quality are associated with the choice of software using the example of the degree of satisfaction with the design result. Software modules for the development of digital devices have been identified. The software of the device being developed is considered as a component of a laboratory workshop. A feature of hybrid learning is noted that is associated with the complexity of prototyping and the need to ensure compatibility of project files created online with computer software modules in the university laboratory. It is proposed to create a database of educational projects to ensure continuity in the design and formation of start-up projects. An example of the design results of a digital device for indicating and monitoring a process parameter is given. The difficulties when using domestically produced integrated circuits in educational design are highlighted. It is recommended to conduct hybrid training in the design of digital devices in small groups.

Faced with the environmental challenges facing today's society, it is necessary to form critical, conscious, committed and competent citizens that can take action. Children represent, at the same time, the need for care and hope for a better and more sustainable world. The school is the ideal place to carry out this training. All citizens pass through school for many years and many hours a day. Everything in the school is designed to teach people how to learn and live together: the people who work there, the infrastructure, the rules, the resources and the opportunities to share daily actions. But are schools prepared to carry out effective environmental education? Several reasons have been pointed out as potential explanations of the lack of awareness and sustainable behavior observed in a large part of the population. Surely, one of the most important is the lack of adequate organization, which leads to a lack of long-term planning, of people in charge, or of an evaluation and communication of the results. In this paper, we present a study on environmental education carried out in a group of Early Childhood and Elementary education schools using structured interviews conducted by students of the Catholic University of Valencia San Vicente Mártir. The results obtained are congruent with the contributions made by previous studies, which have highlighted the lack of coherence between training, attitudes and teaching practices. The conclusions drawn seem to indicate that, although practicing teachers are aware of the importance of the subject, the presence of environmental policies in the school and the implementation of good educational action are far from being considered optimal, given the current need for them. This study explores the perspectives of 190 fourth-year pre-service EFL teachers across Türkiye on their definitions of ideal language teacher educators and the professional development of teacher educators based on their experiences during teaching practicum in university and practice school contexts. Data were collected through open-ended surveys and analysed qualitatively via coding (Saldana 2009) using content analysis (Patton 2015). The findings indicate that some pre-service teachers (PSTs) lack trust in their teacher educators at both schools and universities, particularly regarding the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application during their practicum experience. Additionally, the findings suggest that language teacher educators’ professional development is enhanced by collaborating with PSTs. The results imply that language teacher educators should encourage self-reflection on their teaching practices, facilitate collaboration with PSTs, and prioritise the development of PSTs’ professional identity through partnerships with teacher educators. In the introduction of the study, reference is made to the internships in the early childhood education degree and the value and meaning of these internships for students is also explained. During the third and fourth years, future teachers go to the classroom and experience formative knowledge that moves away from exclusively theoretical stances. They learn in situations, in specific realities together with early childhood education professionals. Therefore, for this study we opted for a qualitative methodology and shared the voice of all the trainees involved in the internship. A questionnaire validated by university lecturers was used, which was administered using technological resources to make participation more flexible. The results are organized around nine centers of interest that coincide with thematic cores (waiting, fears, experience, diversity, the future, usefulness, internships - in two parts - and the future). The discussion provides answers to the various research questions posed, according to the meaning acquired by the experience and its practical usefulness. This study aims to introduce a new Hybrid SIRe (simulation and reflection) Model for instructors to improve counselling skills of counselling students in the practicum course. The Hybrid SIRe Model of teaching is used by instructors, which is a combined approach involving simulation techniques (demonstration and role-play) and reflection techniques. Counselling instructors can utilise this model to establish competency and build self-confidence while conducting counselling sessions with the students.A total of seven counselling students (three males and four females) were selected from the practicum course to test the model. A mixedmethod approach was used in this study. The Counselling Self-Estimate Inventory (COSE) by Larson (1992) was employed to measure a mastery level of counselling skills among counselling students. Data were gathered from the counselling instructor's field notes and counselling students' reflections. Then, the obtained data were analysed using thematic analysis to explore the experiences of a new teaching method by the counselling instructor. The results showed a significant difference between the initial and final assessment of the COSE by comparing means. In conclusion, the Hybrid SIRe Model of teaching has an excellent benefit for counselling instructors to ensure that the practicum students can master counselling skills, which in turn develop their competence levels, help grow their professional identity and promote a better service in the future. The purpose of this study is to examine Jordanian pre-service science teachers' perceptions of their mentoring experience using the five-factor model of mentoring (personal attributes, system requirements, pedagogical knowledge, modeling, and feedback). This study uses a descriptive survey research design, and the Arabic version of the validated Mentoring for Effective Primary Science Teaching (MEPST) survey was administered electronically to collect responses from 49 participants. The data was summarized using descriptive statistics, and t-tests were conducted to test for significant differences in the perceived mentoring experiences between male and female Jordanian pre-service science teachers. The study supports efforts to validate the Arabic version of the MEPST survey. The means of the participants' perceptions of mentoring were relatively high, greater than four on a five-point Likert scale, indicating that the pre-service teachers perceived their mentoring experience as positive based on the five factors. No statistically significant differences were found in the perceived effectiveness of the mentoring experiences between the male and female pre-service science teachers. The study findings have several practical implications and suggest ed directions for future research. Researchers are encouraged to investigate mentors' perceptions and practices related to effective mentoring, and research on identifying and understanding school factors that may influence the effectiveness of mentoring in schools is also needed. In Vietnam, pedagogical students are not just equipped with a system of knowledge and skills in the classroom, they also need to apply the knowledge and skills in general education through practicums. To develop learners' capacity, student teachers need to be equipped to use active teaching methods that are appropriate and promote positiveness. The use of pedagogical methods is most evident during a practicum. This article focuses on determining the reality of seniors who are about to become trained teachers and use pedagogical methods in general education when they join a practicum. The article uses a mixed methods approach, including qualitative and quantitative methods. The questionaries were used to survey 122 seniors regarding the active teaching methods at the pedagogical school and applied during practicums. SPSS software was used for data analysis. The results show that pre-service teachers are aware of the importance of using active teaching methods when practicing. However, they are not proficient, have not applied a variety of these methods, and there is a significant difference in the way they are used by students of different disciplines. The research has implications for the process of training pre -service teachers. It is necessary to equip them to deal with issues related to active teaching methods. This article explores how teacher education students perceive high-quality practicum. Data were collected through group interviews with students while in practicum at partnership schools and analysed thematically within the context of qualification, socialisation, and subjectification as goals of education. The findings show that students perceive high-quality practicum as inclusive, qualifying, and facilitative for developing professional teacher identity. Furthermore, the findings show that students experience a considerable difference in quality between practicum at partnership schools and other schools. Early childhood (EC) education has usually involved in-person teaching and learning. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has imposed remote teaching on EC practitioners and complicated practicum students' fieldwork experiences. This study explored EC practicum students' fieldwork experiences in the U.S. during the pandemic and their preparedness for online teaching and technology employment and integration. Participants included 28 students enrolled in Directed Field Experience in Spring 2021. A mixed-methods approach incorporating multiple sources of data, including reflection papers, interviews, and questionnaires, was used. The findings showed that the EC practicum students changed their perceptions of and attitudes toward a remote field experience course and online teaching with young children over the semester. Additionally, EC practicum students' challenges and professional and academic growth were evident in their reporting. These findings have implications for the development of effective strategies for alleviating EC practicum students' challenges, facilitating their professional growth, and providing resources to integrate digital technology in their teaching in developmentally appropriate ways. Critical incidents are unanticipated events (either positive or negative) that teachers may encounter during a lesson or other situation causing them to reflect on their approach and change accordingly..Critical incidents have great potential for learning as they are vividly remembered and set the conditions for systematic reflection. However, despite the importance of the critical incident technique for professional learning in Initial Teacher Education (ITE), it is not generally used in teacher education programmes until the practicum stage when video-analysis is used. This study aims to analyse student teachers' individual and group reflections regarding two cases recorded on video in Portugal and Spain. Under the context of an Erasmus research project entitled 'Digital Practicum 3.0: Exploring Augmented Reality, Remote Classrooms, and Virtual Learning to enrich and expand preservice teacher education preparation (2020–1-ES01-KA226-HE - 096,120)' two cohorts of 39 and 22 student teachers, respectively, reflected upon two critical incidents previously selected by the student teachers who had taught the two lessons that were video recorded. They had to watch the videos and analyse the incidents both in group discussion and individual reflection. This descriptive study aimed to compare the effects of online and on-site clinical practicum for nursing students, particularly in a situation where clinical practicum opportunities were limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 65 nursing students who had experienced on-site clinical practicum were compared with 65 nursing students who had undergone online clinical practicum. The satisfaction of the students with their practicum was assessed using a 17-item satisfaction tool, while their clinical competence was evaluated using a 23-item Clinical Competency tool. Additionally, professional socialization was measured using a 52-item Professional Socialization Scale. The results of this study suggest that online clinical practicum may have similar effects on clinical competence and professional socialization as on-site clinical practice for undergraduate nursing students. Therefore, online clinical practicum could be a valuable supplement to clinical education, especially in situations where traditional practicum opportunities are limited due to infectious diseases or a lack of available practice institutions. The purpose of this instrumental multiple case study was to examine and compare five inservice music teachers' and one administrator's perceptions of three school–university partnership programs, in various stages of development, across one semester. Data sources included participants' observation notes, researchers' field notes, and individual semi-structured interviews. The following themes emerged from the data: (a) benefits of reinforcement, (b) benefits of promoting best practice and research, (c) challenges of navigating multiple teachers, (d) challenges of time management, and (e) observed differences between partnerships. Participants offered the following suggestions to implement and sustain successful partnerships: (a) preservice music educator preparation, including preparation in music planning, responsive teaching, and developing student connections, and (b) logistics, including increased communication, understanding all aspects of full-time music teaching, and expanding the number of visits. Practicum is a fairly complex teaching and learning process, but the level of complexity is always in line with human development. It is necessary to have facilities or media that can stimulate the learning process so that it runs effectively and efficiently, including tools that support practicum activities. The steel used is usually a type of low carbon steel which is corrosive in air, water and soil. This corrosion can occur because steel throws away electrons, causing the steel to oxidize. Steel that experiences oxidation can become brittle, weak, and unable to bear the load that a steel structure should support. Therefore, corrosion can reduce the durability of low-carbon steel structures as well as pipes. However, with the coating method, low carbon steel can be protected from corrosion. Coating steel using metal can be done using various methods, including electroplating (cold dipping) using the direct current method. The working principle is almost the same as electrolysis, where the galvanized metal acts as the anode, while the base metal specimen acts as the cathode. Apart from prioritizing visual results, other factors are equally important and need to be considered, such as durability and protection from corrosion. Because in certain situations, the metal's resistance to corrosion is very important. This coating refers to surface coating, which is a process of modifying the surface of a material with the aim of obtaining properties such as corrosion resistance, high hardness, high temperature resistance and wear resistance without any significant changes to the structural properties.

The primary purpose of this paper is to explore the nature of student teachers’ reflections initiated and supported by certain reflection prompts such as SAT (Self-Assessment Tool) and vlogs shared on a Google classroom. Within the context of practicum, ten teacher candidates were randomly recruited for the study. Quantitative data were analyzed through SPSS with the purpose of generating a summary of descriptive statistics. Qualitative data were employed in depth-analysis for the interpretation of emerged patterns and themes. In order to understand how collaborative reflections emerged and developed between the student teachers, discussion transcripts were analyzed and coded with discourse analysis. The results indicated that regular and collaborative reflections had important contributions to the participants’ teaching practice. Through finding the opportunities of having real classroom teaching experiences, sharing these practices, and getting new perspectives, student teachers have become more cognizant of their beliefs, teaching behaviors, and their teaching settings. On the way of being strong decision-makers of their future teaching, it can be highlighted that through the reflective practices enhanced with peer collaboration, teacher candidates have become more willing in reflecting and sharing their experiences and professional knowledge and more determined in practicing theory to deal with the problems in their classrooms.

AbstractIntroduction: In February 2023, a work group began to develop a new North American organization in neuropsychology to represent and support practicum-training sites. While other training-focused organizations such as the Association of Postdoctoral Programs in Clinical Neuropsychology (APPCN) and the Association of Internship Training in Clinical Neuropsychology (AITCN) have existed for many years, no organization exists to promote and support practicum level training outside of doctoral degree programs. The work group developed such an organization, subsequently named the North American Association of Practicum Sites in Neuropsychology (NAPSN), beginning with a mission statement and general purpose of the organization. Methods: The work group divided members into five task forces focused on various tasks needed to start the organization, including Mission/Vision, Administrative Structure, Membership, Financials, and Bylaws. The entire work group met monthly with additional meetings and work via email for the various task forces, which resulted in the development of a mission statement and bylaws, as well as a framework for program administration, membership requirements and financial needs. Conclusions: The group developed NAPSN primarily as a resource to support diverse practicum programs in urban, suburban, and rural areas in the US and Canada to provide optimal graduate level clinical training in neuropsychology. Didactics aimed specifically at practicum students was one need identified early in the process. NAPSN is developing a website-based resource in collaboration with other training organizations to increase the didactic offerings to practicum students. Policies for initial teacher education have sought to strengthen the practicum component by increasing the number of courses that have a school-based component and by requiring universities to develop partnerships with schools and early childhood centers. The aim of this study is to analyze university supervisors' and classroom teachers' (tutors) understanding of their role in supporting pre-service teachers who are completing a practicum course in schools and early childhood centers. In the first stage, a questionnaire was completed by practicum supervisors (n=56) from five Chilean universities (13 programs) and by 540 tutors from 91 schools that served as practicum sites. In the second stage, tutors' perspectives were explored through 12 group interviews. The results show more agreement than disagreement about each other's roles, and there is also some overlap, without coordination, in the tasks these two actors perform. The differences are more related to prioritization. For supervisors, the main priority is to provide teacher candidates with theoretical tools to complete course requirements. For tutors, the most important function is that supervisors go to the school to support the performance of pre-service teachers and the work of tutors. These differences create tensions, and their resolution requires addressing structural problems related to the lack of bi-directionality in the university-school partnerships for the shared task of preparing the next generation of teachers. In order to have a positive impact on schools, pre-service teachers and initial teacher preparation programs, partner institutions need to work together to construct shared meanings, purposes and practices that support authentic collaboration. This paper reports a narrative study of a Chinese EFL student teacher's professional identity development before, during, and after the teaching practicum. The data collection includes in-depth interviews, documents, and observations. By providing a rich and detailed description of Li Ping's experiences, this research offers valuable insights into the current landscape of professional identity development among Chinese EFL student teachers. Viewed through the lens of teacher socialization, the findings reveal distinct professional identities assumed by Li Ping at different stages of her journey: an expectant and anxious learner before the practicum, an exhausted and frustrated class manager, an ambivalent observer, an earnest apprentice, a nervous debutant, and a reflective practitioner during the practicum, and a determined prospective teacher after the practicum. The narrative story of Li Ping suggests that she experienced a dynamic professional identity development over time through continuous negotiation, adjustment, and reflection at different stages of the practicum. In addition, this paper proposed applicable suggestions for educational institutions, placement schools, as well as student teachers. By incorporating these insights, future teacher education programs can better equip aspiring educators to navigate the complexities of their professional identity development, ultimately bolstering the effectiveness of EFL teacher preparation in China. Teacher preparation for generalist (non-specialist) elementary teachers in Ontario typically comprises one compulsory music class. In entry surveys, many generalists describe themselves as highly apprehensive about and unconfident in their ability to teach music, confirming previous research. Using narrative inquiry, we explore the stories of both preservice and in-service generalist teachers. Data from focus groups with preservice teachers revealed that most participants felt markedly more comfortable with the prospect of teaching music in primary grades after taking our music courses; while fewer expressed confidence in teaching music to junior/intermediate grades. However, preservice teachers are rarely given the chance to observe or teach music while on practicum. Interviews with in-service generalist teachers revealed that a lack of confidence compelled them to take part in intentional, incremental, self-directed learning experiences to further develop their knowledge and skills for the elementary music classroom. The pandemic largely halted music activities, creating new barriers for generalist in-service teachers who teach music. The enduring gaps identified by this research are how to build more opportunities for generalist preservice teachers to practice their newly acquired skills while on practicum; and how to better support generalist in-service teachers to acquire additional skills for teaching music once in the classroom. Data analytics is a rapidly growing field that plays a crucial role in extracting valuable insights from large volumes of data. A data analytics practicum course provides students with hands-on experience in applying data analytics techniques and tools to real-world scenarios. This practicum is intended to serve as a bridge between the student's academic environment and the professional application of their skills in an employment and internship setting. This study examined the design of a data analytics practicum course. The main objectives included (1) the identification of topics and skills employers look for in new hires in data analytics-related internships and entry-level positions, (2) the development and implementation of a Data Analytics practicum course and (3) reflection on the first-time offering of the course and suggested improvements for the next iteration. As part of this study, industry and organization survey responses drove the design of the course and development of key student learning gains for five learning modules throughout the semester. Faculty within the departments of information technology (IT), mathematics, and statistics collaborated in the construction, development, and implementation of team-teaching instructional practices of the Data Analytics Practicum in Spring 2023. The practicum in teacher education programmes typically includes an observation of the mentors or peers, as well as an actual teaching phase. In most programmes, the focus is more on the direct experience of teaching. Turkey, moved by a general dissatisfaction with how teacher education programmes prepare student teachers for the realities of the classroom, has initiated a new field experience programme that does not include observation. We aim to depict the realities of all participants including student teachers, mentors and supervisors on the disappearance of a once central component of the teaching experience- the observation, as well as its replacement with more practice time. A qualitative research design has been adopted and the data have been collected from surveys and interviews. The findings demonstrate that the participants value both the potential of learning from observation and the opportunity to be involved in more practice during the practicum process. This empirical study aims to understand the assessment pedagogies used to support pre-service teachers' assessment development in the post-pandemic. The study involved sixty 4th year English language pre-service teachers, and data were collected from interviews, practicum observation notes, field visit notes, and reflection papers. The study aimed to identify research-based pedagogical constructs that effectively contributed to pre-service teachers' learning and practice of assessment in the practicum. Using an activity theory lens, the study developed a model that could be used in pre-service teacher assessment education across different contexts. The paper concludes by suggesting research and practice-oriented implementations for pre-service teacher education based on the identified pedagogical constructs. Also, it has important implications for developing effective assessment education for pre-service teachers, which can contribute to better student learning outcomes in the future. Based on the assumption that agency is a discursive practice and one basic premise of an education aimed at developing critical, participative and transformative agents to live in a society under constant changes associated with globalization and neoliberalism, the main objective of this paper, which results from my PhD research (Landim, 2020), was to investigate if agency development implies a critically oriented English Language Teaching (ELT) in global times. To address such objective, the research was conducted with a group of teachers and student teachers participating in the English Language Teaching (ELT) practicum of a public university located in the north of Brazil. The study followed qualitative research methodological paths of ethnographic nature, within the field of critical applied linguistics, using concepts borrowed from decolonial theories, new literacies studies and crEitical literacies and other fields, especially sociology and philosophy of education. Work-based learning is an influential period of teacher education, where a mentor teacher is assigned to support the student teacher. Mentoring conversations between the mentor teachers and student teacher seldom cover how student teachers cope with emotional challenges. Therefore, we aimed to investigate mentor teachers' perspectives on student teachers' reports of emotional challenges. The study had a particular focus on actions the mentor teachers described as preferable in reacting to scenarios of emotional challenges reported by student teachers. We conducted a constructivist grounded theory study and interviewed 22 mentor teachers. The findings of the study show that mentor teachers' main concern revolved around student teachers' understanding of challenges as learning opportunities. According to mentor teachers' descriptions, the preferred actions in their role as mentor teachers were to regulate, engage/help, be exemplary, and take charge.
