The book is an attempt at a monographic approach to the problem of the reception of 17th-century Dutch painting in modern literature. However, the author deals not only with contemporary works but also with the texts of 19th-century writers and critics, most often French, who shaped the so-called myth of the Dutch Golden Age. Readers learn the historically conditioned models of perception of 17th-century Dutch painting. The original achievement is the genre key, which is a consequence of the thesis on the mediation of the 20th-century reception of Dutch Golden Age painting in 19th-century European literature and art criticism. Contemporary writers are revising the concept of realism; they cannot talk about Vermeer's View of Delft without referring to Proust's petit pan de mur jaune. They read still lifes through Chardin and Cézanne or revive the myth of Rembrandt – a self-portraitist who analyzed himself. Also noteworthy is the section devoted to the little Dutch masters – Willem Dyster, Pieter de Hooch, Hendrick Avercamp, Hercules Seghers and Pieter Saenredam.

The Futurists produced most conspicuous, creative, and diverse figures of sound in the Polish avant-garde. The book is a comparative study of the Polish Futurists'works presented against the backdrop of European literary practices of the time (Dadaism, Italian and Russian Futurism) and the Polish literary tradition (folk poetry, Young Poland). S´niecikowska examines variations on symbolist “musicality,” traces similarities between Polish Futurist word formation and Cubo-Futurist experimentation, compares Dadaist and Futurist concepts of onomatopoeia, analyses applications of Marinetti's “words in freedom.” The study also deals with uses of glossolalia and echolalia as well as sound-semantic concepts that employ pure nonsense and parody.

The title of this monograph, ‘Polish-Jewish Re-Remembering', refers to the post-1989, thirty-year-long process of reviving attention to Polish-Jewish relations in historical, cultural, and literary studies, including the impact of Jews on the development of Polish culture, their presence in Polish social life, and the relationships between Jews and non-Jews in Poland. The book consists of four parts: the first focuses on Polish, Jewish and Polish-Jewish Literature (dealing mainly with pre-1939 literary works); the second, on the post-war literary output of the Polish-Jewish writer Arnold Słucki (1920–1972); the third, on Polish-Israeli literary images in the works of writers who were active in Israel (1948–2018); and the fourth, on recent (after 2000) Polish Holocaust literature.

Literatur kann das Vergessen überwinden, identitätsstiftende Opfer- und Heldennarrative aufbrechen und Vergangenes anders und neu erzählen. Kobiety w literaturze o Tatrach do 1939 roku stanowi swoistą herstory (terminem tym określa się narracje, które w historycznej refleksji szczególnie uwzględniają kobiety), w której autorka dokonuje próby usytuowania bohaterek i autorek w historii literatury o Tatrach – z punktu widzenia zarówno męskiego wzorca, jak i samodzielnej roli kulturotwórczej, jaką odgrywają. Punktem wyjścia analizy zgromadzonego w monografii materiału, obejmującego okres do 1939 roku, stało się wyodrębnienie najbardziej wyrazistych i charakterystycznych typów kobiet w zależności od odgrywanych przez nie ról społecznych oraz ich rozległych i zróżnicowanych związków z przestrzenią Tatr i Zakopanego. W pracy wskazano następujące typy: góralki, rezydentki oraz gościnie (taterniczki i turystki wysokogórskie, narciarki, kuracjuszki, wczasowiczki). Selekcję zgromadzonego materiału źródłowego – obejmującego utwory etnograficzne, wspomnieniowe i publicystyczne, a także reprezentującą różne obiegi literackie i zróżnicowaną gatunkowo twórczość beletrystyczną – przeprowadzono w odniesieniu do tych reprezentatywnych typów oraz w nawiązaniu do charakterystycznych relacji z przestrzenią wysokogórską i podhalańską, w jakie wchodzą bohaterki. Analiza materiału prowadzi do charakterystyki wyodrębnionych grup, zawierającej ich ewolucję oraz opis funkcji i znaczenia kobiet: po pierwsze, w literaturze o Tatrach – z perspektywy zarówno jej rozwoju, jak i obrazu świata przedstawionego, po drugie, w życiu społecznym, popularyzacji aktywności w przestrzeni oraz budowaniu wizerunku regionu i kształtowaniu się lokalnych mitów.
