The current status and the progress of R&D activities for a Fusion DEMO reactor in the QST Rokkasho Fusion Institute is reported. In order to advance the JA DEMO activity, not only Japanese domestic activity but also international collaborations of Broader Approach Activity and ITER related activities are conducted in the QST Rokkasho Fusion Institute. Activities for DEMO design and relevant R&D, design of a fusion neutron source and development of an accelerator, ITER-TBS, tritium handling technology and information technology infrastructures including a supercomputer system and a remote experimentation system are carried out for a Fusion DEMO reactor.

QSTでは非線形MHDコードMUSESの開発を進めており、これまで円柱プラズマにおける理想MHDモードの再現に成功している。しかしながら、現行コードをトーラスに適用すると、特定の状況において基底が線形従属となり、時間積分できない事象が確認されている。本研究では、局所−大域座標間の変換則を考え、完備な基底関数列とヤコビアンの導出を行った。今後コードの改修及びトーラス形状への適用を進める予定である。, 日本物理学会第 77 回年次大会

原型炉設計合同特別チームが検討を進めている，原型炉における運転シナリオ検討の現状と課題について報告した．特に，原型炉で採用される予定の金属壁などにより生じる不純物が運転シナリオに与える影響の重要性について，エッジローカライズモード抑制によるダイバータ熱負荷低減を実現する鍵となることなどを紹介した．, 第19回核燃焼プラズマ統合コード研究会

国際トカマク物理活動（ITPA）の「スクレイプオフ層とダイバータ物理」と「周辺ペデスタル物理」の二つのトピカルグループ会合が、2022年1月から2月にかけて開催された。各会合において議論した重要課題への取り組みや国際共同実験/解析の状況を、プラズマ・核融合学会誌を通して国内の研究者に報告する。

Structure-preserving discretization of the Rosenbluth–Fokker–Planck equation is still an open question especially for unlike-particle collision. In this paper, a mass-energy-conserving isotropic Rosenbluth–Fokker–Planck scheme is introduced. The structure related to the energy conservation is skew-symmetry in mathematical sense, and the action–reaction law in physical sense. A thermal relaxation term is obtained by using integration-by-parts on a volume integral in the energy moment equation, so the discontinuous Galerkin method is selected to preserve the skew-symmetry. The discontinuous Galerkin method enables ones to introduce the nonlinear upwind flux without violating the conservation laws. Some experiments show that the conservative scheme maintains the mass-energy-conservation only with round-off errors, and analytic equilibria are reproduced only with truncation errors of its formal accuracy.
