Abstract Background South Asia continues to host the triple burden of child malnutrition with high levels of child undernutrition, hidden hunger (micronutrient deficiencies) and childhood overweight/obesity. To combat malnutrition, the international community along with the National governments have launched initiatives to track the country’s progress towards achieving the Global Nutrition targets by 2025. This review captures the country-specific efforts of nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive sectoral programs and policies towards achieving these targets for eight South Asian countries. Methods A systematic internet search was undertaken to search relevant policies and programs from Government websites and twelve International Organisations working in the region. The authors developed a template to map the policies against the following criteria: (i) enabling supportive environment; (ii) Initiatives targeted at nutrition-specific interventions; and (iii) Initiatives targeted at nutrition-specific interventions that impact child malnutrition. A narrative descriptive approach was used to present findings. Results All eight countries had relevant policies and programs to address child malnutrition and macronutrient deficiencies with targets for significant reductions in stunting and improved breastfeeding. However, despite the outlined there are major challenges of implementation, monitoring, evaluation and quality that persist with increased dependency on international donors and organisations for funding and/or implementation of nutrition plans. Conclusion There is a need to contextualise efforts designated to donors and governments to improve the tracking of efforts that impact nutrition.

Small communities in remote, riparian sites often have limited resources, and experience energy insufficiencies and poor disaster resilience to intensifying weather hazards such as rainstorms and floods. Humanitarian engineering interventions for off-grid renewable energy generation and flood response at the local level have the potential to support community hazard management and socio-economic development. This scoping review examines communities in low and lower middle-income countries, and their use of renewable energy and flood warning systems. Its primary focus is vulnerable communities and how they can achieve hazard protection as part of sustainable development initiatives. The findings highlight that it is important to consider institutional, environmental, social/ethical, economic and technical indicators in developing a comprehensive understanding of the success or failure of a given system. The study concludes that an integrated renewable energy and flood warning system may provide an optimal, community-managed approach to address priority needs.

Abstract This systematic review and meta‐analysis aimed to assess the robustness of designs and tools used in nutrition social behaviour change communication (NSBCC) interventions and establish their effectiveness. EBSCOhost as an umbrella database including Medline (Ovid) and CINAHL, EMBASE, and ProQUEST databases were searched for peer‐reviewed articles from January 1960 to October 2018. Additional sources were searched to identify all relevant studies including grey literature. Studies' biases were assessed according to Cochrane handbook. Pooled estimate of effectiveness of interventions on infant and young child feeding (IYCF) practices and child nutritional status with 95% confidence intervals were measured using random‐effects models. Eighty studies were included in this review: Fifty‐one (64%) were cluster randomised controlled trials (RCTs), 13 (16%) were RCTs and 16 (20%) quasi‐experimental. Of the included studies, 22 (27%) measured early initiation of breastfeeding, 38 (47%) measured exclusive breastfeeding, 29 (36%) measured minimum dietary diversity, 21 (26%) measured minimum meal frequency, 26 (32%) measured height for age z‐scores (HAZ), 23 (29%) measured weight for height z‐scores (WHZ), 27 (34%) measured weight for age z‐scores (WAZ), 20 (25%) measured stunting, 14 (17%) measured wasting, and 11 (14%) measured underweight. AbstractThe justice practice of an organization plays a vital role in the way that an individual perceives organizational citizenship behavior and job satisfaction in the workplace. However, there is scanty research on how justice practice affects organizational citizenship behavior and employee job satisfaction in developing countries like Ethiopia. This study endeavors to fill this gap by analyzing the mediating role of employee job satisfaction in the nexus between perceived organizational justice and organizational citizenship behavior by controlling various demographic variables. The study used a cross-sectional design and involved 312 full-time non-academic staff members from Ethiopian Public Higher Education Institutions. Data were gathered using a self-administered survey questionnaire. By integrating the theory of social exchange and equity theory, the study theorized that employee job satisfaction mediates the nexus between perceived organizational justice and organizational citizenship behavior. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) results showed that employee job satisfaction partially mediated the positive and significant association between perceived organizational justice and organizational citizenship behavior. This study contributes an additional understanding of the significant role of employee job satisfaction in unlocking the black box between perceived justice and citizenship behavior in developing countries like Ethiopia in the context of Higher Education Institutions.

Purpose – This research study aims to design a novel risk-managed time-series momentum approach. The present study also examines the time-series momentum effect in the Indian equity market. Apart from this, the study also proposes a novel risk-managed time-series momentum approach. Design/methodology/approach – The study considers the adjusted monthly closing prices of the stocks listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange from January 1996 to December 2020 to formulate long-short portfolios. Newey–West t statistics were used to test the significance of momentum returns. The present research has considered standard risk factors, i.e. market, size and value, to evaluate the risk-adjusted performance of time-series momentum portfolios. Findings – The present research reports a substantial absolute momentum effect in the Indian equity market. However, absolute momentum strategies are exposed to occasional severe losses. The proposed time-series momentum approach not only yields 2.5 times higher return than the standard time-series momentum approach but also causes substantial enhancement in downside risks and higher-order moments. Practical implications – The study's outcomes offer valuable insights for professional investors, capital market regulators and asset management companies. Originality/value – This study is one of the pioneers attempting to test the time-series momentum effect in emerging economies. Besides, current research contributes to the escalating literature on risk-managed momentum by suggesting a novel revised time-series momentum approach.

In the last two decades, research on behavioural biases has grown dramatically, fuelled by rising academic interest and zeal for publication. The present study explores the mediating role of risk perception on the relationship between heuristic biases and individual equity investors’ decision-making. The study uses Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling (PLS–SEM) to examine the survey data from 432 individual equity investors trading at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) in India. Risk perception is found to play a partial mediating role in the relationship amid overconfidence bias and investment decision-making, availability bias and investment decision-making, gamblers’ fallacy bias and investment decision-making and anchoring bias and investment decision-making, whereas it is found to play the full mediating role in the relationship between representativeness bias and investment decision-making. The result of the present study provides valuable insights into the different behavioural biases of capital market participants and other stakeholders such as equity investors, financial advisors, and policymakers. The present study solely relied on the heuristic biases of individual equity investors. However, in the real world, many other factors may impact the investment decision of individual equity investors. This has been considered a limitation of the study.
