In this paper we present part of the results of a master's research. The research was developed in the thematic field of drugs from the perspective of popular education, having as an empirical field the Boy's Home, a socio-educational unit located in the municipality of Lagoa Seca, State of Paraíba, Brasil. Methodologically, it has been a qualitative research developed through unsystematic observations in the Boy's Home and through semi-structured interviews with teachers from the School of that institution. The empirical material from the interviews was analyzed according to the Thematic Analysis procedures of Braun and Clarke (2006). Among other findings, we identified that teachers do not have systematized knowledge about popular education, but they develop actions that are close to their postulates. As a conclusion, we highlight, for example, the need to offer continuous formation to the teachers of the investigated institution, so that the approaches of popular education can be effectively developed in said context. This article is an excerpt from the master's thesis defended in the Postgraduate Program in Education at the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), whose research was developed in the Socio-Educational Center Lar do Garoto, an educational establishment located in the municipality of Lagoa Seca, state of Paraíba, where adolescents who committed infractional acts are in execution of a socio-educational measure of internment. The study was approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee of the Medical Sciences Center of UFPB under opinion n° 5.255.702, on February 22, 2022. In the investigation, we aimed to analyze how the issue of drugs has been addressed in the school context of adolescents who are at Lar do Garoto. Methodologically, the research was operationalized through semi-structured interviews with teachers from the school operating in the socio-educational unit. The empirical material resulting from the interviews was scrutinized according to the procedures of the Thematic Analysis by Braun and Clarke (2006). Among the results, we observed different approaches of drugs, both guided by the prohibitionist logic of the "war on drugs", and by approaches that reject it. Conclusively, it is emphasised the need to offer continuing formation to the socio-educational teachers about drugs, considering the challenges inherent to the theme and the context of adolescents assisted by the socio-educational system. This article aims to analyze the occurrence of peer violence (bullying) involving students, according to the perspective of Popular Education. The context of the study is the municipality of Marcação, in the State of Paraíba, Brazil. From a methodological point of view, this is qualitative research of exploratory nature, having carried out a literature review and a study with representatives from two schools in the aforementioned municipality. The empirical material was obtained through semi-structured interviews, and its scrutiny occurred according to the application of the thematic analysis technique. Among the results achieved, it was possible to perceive the ineptitude of school authorities about peer intimidation, despite being a phenomenon that frequently occurs in educational institutions and that there are several materials available about it. There was also a trivialization of bullying and the naturalization of violent behavior among students. Conclusively, it is pointed out, for example, that the dialogicity of Popular Education can be an important device to address bullying in everyday school life and overcome the culture of violence.
