PURPOSE: Routine collection of sexual orientation (SO) and gender identity (GI; collectively SOGI) in cancer clinics advances cancer care equity. METHODS: In 2022, NCI Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) practice groups were asked about routine collection of SOGI data in the electronic health record. The proportions of practice groups reporting collection of SO and/or GI data were calculated, and practice group characteristics were assessed for associations. RESULTS: Of 271 practice groups nationwide, 42% (n = 112) collect SO data, 58% (n = 157) collect GI data, and 35% (n = 96) collect both. In multivariate analyses, SO data collection was associated with practice groups having minority outreach staff (odds ratio [OR], 2.07 [95% CI, 1.12 to 3.81]; P =.02); GI data collection was associated with practice groups located in the Northeastern United States (OR, 2.08 [95% CI, 0.73 to 5.91]; P =.045), and those with a higher proportion of new patients who were White (OR, 1.02 [95% CI, 1.01 to 1.04]; P <.001). Practice groups in the South were least likely to collect SOGI data (OR, 0.49 [95% CI, 0.26 to 0.94]; P =.004). There were no statistically significant differences in SO and/or GI collection on the basis of the practice group's proportion of Medicaid/Medicare patients, number of new patients with cancer per year, or practice ownership. CONCLUSION: Slightly over one third of NCORP practice groups report routinely collecting SOGI data. There are regional differences in data collection, underscoring the need to craft targeted, region-specific interventions focused on boosting the capture and recording of SOGI data in an affirming manner. Background National cancer organizations recommend provision of nutrition, physical activity, and mental health supportive services to cancer survivors. However, the availability of these services across diverse community oncology settings remains unclear. Methods The National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) is a national network of community oncology practices engaged in cancer research. The 2022 NCORP Landscape Assessment (5UG1CA189824) assessed individual practices' establishment of survivorship clinics and nutrition, physical activity, and mental health services, resources, and/or referrals. Descriptive statistics summarized and logistic regression quantified the association between services, practice, and patient characteristics. Results Of 46 NCORP community sites, 45 (98%) responded to the survey, representing 259 adult practice groups. A total of 41% had a survivorship clinic; 96% offered mental health, 94% nutrition, and 53% physical activity services, resources, and/or referrals. All 3 services were offered in various formats (eg, in-house, referrals, education) by 51% and in-house only by 25% of practices. Practices with advanced practice providers were more likely to have a survivorship clinic (odds ratio [OR] = 3.19, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.04 to 9.76). Practices with at least 30% Medicare patients (OR = 2.54, 95% CI = 1.39 to 4.66) and more oncology providers (OR = 1.02, 95% CI = 1.01 to 1.04) were more likely to have all 3 services in any format. Practices with at least 30% Medicare patients (OR = 3.41, 95% CI = 1.50 to 7.77) and a survivorship clinic (OR = 2.84, 95% CI = 1.57 to 5.14) were more likely to have all 3 services in-house. Conclusions Larger oncology practices and those caring for more survivors on Medicare provided more supportive services, resources, and/or referrals. Windmountainite is relatively rare: aside from its occurrence at Wind Mountain, it is only reported (but not confirmed by quantitative chemical analysis) on Mindat.org (accessed June 2023) at the Aris phonolite intrusion in Windhoek, Namibia, where other palygorskite-group minerals have been found. Purpose: To validate the association between body composition and mortality in men treated with radiation for localized prostate cancer (PCa). Secondarily, to integrate body composition as a factor to classify patients by risk of all‐cause mortality. Materials and Methods: Participants of NRG/Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) 9406 and NRG/RTOG 0126 with archived computed tomography were included. Muscle mass and muscle density were estimated by measuring the area and attenuation of the psoas muscles on a single slice at L4–L5. Bone density was estimated by measuring the attenuation of the vertebral body at mid‐L5. Survival analyses, including Cox proportional hazards models, assessed the relationship between body composition and mortality. Recursive partitioning analysis (RPA) was used to create a classification tree to classify participants by risk of death. Results: Data from 2066 men were included in this study. In the final multivariable model, psoas area, comorbidity score, baseline prostate serum antigen, and age were significantly associated with survival. The RPA yielded a classification tree with four prognostic groups determined by age, comorbidity, and psoas area. Notably, the classification among older (≥70 years) men into prognostic groups was determined by psoas area. Conclusions: This study strongly supports that body composition is related to mortality in men with localized PCa. The inclusion of psoas area in the RPA classification tree suggests that body composition provides additive information to age and comorbidity status for mortality prediction, particularly among older men. More research is needed to determine the clinical impact of body composition on prognostic models in men with PCa. Background: Body composition is associated with chemotherapy toxicity (chemotoxicity) in adults with cancer; this association remains unexplored in children with cancer. Methods: Using baseline computed tomography scans of 107 children with Hodgkin lymphoma (n = 45), non‐Hodgkin lymphoma (n = 42), or rhabdomyosarcoma (n = 20), this study examined body composition (skeletal muscle index [SMI], skeletal muscle density [SMD], and height‐adjusted total adipose tissue [hTAT]) to determine its association with chemotoxicity. Clinical characteristics and chemotoxicities were abstracted from medical records. Primary outcomes included grade 4 or higher hematologic toxicities and grade 3 or higher nonhematologic toxicities within 6 months of the diagnosis. Logistic regression models accounting for repeated measures were constructed to examine the association between body composition indices and chemotoxicities; adjustments were made for age at diagnosis, sex, race/ethnicity, cancer type, risk group, body mass index (measured as a percentile), or body surface area. Results: The median SMI was 41.0 cm2/m2 (range, 25.8‐68.6 cm2/m2), the median SMD was 54.1 HU (range, 35‐69.4 HU), and the median hTAT was 19.5 cm2/m2 (range, 0‐226.7 cm2/m2). Grade 4 or higher hematologic toxicities and grade 3 or higher nonhematologic toxicities were observed in 74.7% and 66.3% of the chemotherapy cycles, respectively. A higher SMD at diagnosis was associated with lower odds of grade 4 or higher hematologic toxicity (odds ratio [OR], 0.90; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.85‐0.97; P =.004). SMI (OR, 0.99; 95% CI, 0.95‐1.04; P =.7) and hTAT (OR, 1.00; 95% CI, 0.99‐1.01; P =.9) were not associated with hematologic toxicities. Nonhematologic toxicities did not show any association with body composition. Conclusions: The association between low SMD and hematologic toxicities in children with lymphoma or rhabdomyosarcoma could be due to body composition–based biodistribution of chemotherapeutic agents and needs further investigation. Lay Summary: Body composition at cancer diagnosis in children with lymphoma and rhabdomyosarcoma may provide information that could identify those at risk for serious side effects from chemotherapy.Routinely used measures such as body mass index and body surface area show poor correlations with body composition assessed via computed tomography scans. The body mass index or body surface area of children at cancer diagnosis shows a poor to modest correlation with body composition assessed via computed tomography (CT) scans. Ferrotorryweiserite, Rh5Fe10S16, occurs as small grains (≤20 µm) among droplet-like inclusions (up to 50 μm in diameter) of platinum-group minerals (PGM), in association with oberthürite or Rh-bearing pentlandite, laurite, and a Pt-Pd-Fe alloy (likely isoferroplatinum and Fe-Pd-enriched platinum), hosted by placer grains of Os-Ir alloy (≤0.5 mm) in the River Ko deposit. The latter is a part of the Sisim placer zone, which is likely derived from ultramafic units of the Lysanskiy layered complex, southern Krasnoyarskiy kray, Russia. The mineral is opaque, gray to brownish gray in reflected light, very weakly bireflectant, not pleochroic to weakly pleochroic (grayish to light brown tints), and weakly anisotropic. The calculated density is 5.93 g·cm–3. Mean results (and ranges) of four WDS analyses are: Ir 18.68 (15.55–21.96), Rh 18.34 (16.32–20.32), Pt 0.64 (0.19–1.14), Ru 0.03 (0.00–0.13), Os 0.07 (0.02–0.17), Fe 14.14 (13.63–14.64), Ni 13.63 (12.58–14.66), Cu 4.97 (3.42–6.41), Co 0.09 (0.07–0.11), S 29.06 (28.48–29.44), and total 99.66 wt.%. They correspond to the following formula calculated for a total of 31 atoms per formula unit: (Rh3.16Ir1.72Pt0.06Ru0.01Os0.01)Σ4.95(Fe4.48Ni4.11Cu1.38Co0.03)Σ10.00S16.05. The results of synchrotron micro-Laue diffraction studies indicate that ferrotorryweiserite is trigonal; its probable space group is R 3 ¯ m (#166) based on its Ni-analog, torryweiserite. The unit-cell parameters refined from 177 reflections are a = 7.069 (2) Å, c = 34.286 (11) Å, V = 1484 (1) Å3, and Z = 3. The c:a ratio is 4.8502. The strongest eight peaks in the X-ray diffraction pattern derived from results of micro-Laue diffraction study [d in Å(hkil)(I)] are 2.7950 (20 2 ¯ 5) (100); 5.7143 (0006) (60); 1.7671 (22 4 ¯ 0) (44.4); 3.0486 (20 2 ¯ 1) (39.4); 5.7650 (10 1 ¯ 2) (38.6); 2.5956 (20 2 ¯ 7) (37.8); 3.0058 (11 2 ¯ 6) (36.5); and 1.5029 (4 2 ¯   2 ¯ 12) (35.3). Ferrotorryweiserite and the associated PGM crystallized from microvolumes of residual melt at late stages of crystallization of grains of Os- and Ir-dominant alloys occurred in lode zones of chromitites of the Lysanskiy layered complex. In a particular case, the residual melt is disposed peripherally around a core containing a disequilibrium association of magnesian olivine (Fo72.9–75.6) and albite (Ab81.6–86.4), with the development of skeletal crystals of titaniferous augite: Wo40.8–43.2En26.5–29.3Fs20.3–22.6Aeg6.9–9.5 (2.82–3.12 wt.% TiO2). Ferrotorryweiserite represents the Fe-dominant analog of torryweiserite. We also report occurrences of ferrotorryweiserite in the Marathon deposit, Coldwell Complex, Ontario, Canada, and infer the existence of the torryweiserite–ferrotorryweiserite solid solution in other deposits and complexes. A combined laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) study was used to map 49 elements in four Fe Mn precipitates produced from three different genetic processes (hydrogenetic, hydrothermal, and mixed-type hydrogenetic-hydrothermal) in samples obtained from the southern Mariana Arc. Results show Mn-oxide minerals are consistently found to be associated with Ba, Mo, Sb, V, Zn, and the rare earth elements and yttrium (REY), excluding Ce, whereas Fe-oxyhydroxide minerals are primarily associated with Ti, Co, Cr, Cu, Nb, and Pb. Element distributions in Fe Mn precipitates from the southern Mariana Arc differ from deposits formed in other environments; notably, there is a decoupling of As and Sb, and redox-sensitive elements are more variable than non-redox-sensitive elements. Samples previously classified as either hydrogenetic or hydrothermal in origin, based on bulk geochemical data, show characteristics of both at higher resolution. Combining high resolution in-situ data with genetic classification discrimination diagrams reveals more ambiguity in metal and metalloid origin than previously thought. Mariana Arc Fe Mn precipitates can be separated into two formation sub-types (hydrothermal or mixed hydrothermal/hydrogenetic) based on textural and compositional differences, e.g., differences in Ce/Ce and Y/Ho values and relative variations in (Zr + Y + Ce) versus (Co + Ni) versus (Mn + Fe). Improved classification and knowledge of how fast-growing hydrothermal Fe Mn precipitates form may help us identify a relatively renewable critical metal resource. Introduction: We aim to investigate if the addition of MRI-US fusion biopsy (FB) can aid in radiation planning and alter the boost field in cases of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for prostate cancer with a simultaneous integrated boost (SIB) to a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-defined intraprostatic lesion., Materials and Methods: Patients undergoing SBRT with SIB for biopsy-proven prostatic adenocarcinoma and a pre-radiation MRI were retrospectively reviewed. 36.25 Gy in 5 fractions was delivered to entire prostate along with SIB of 40 Gy to an MRI-defined intraprostatic lesion. Demographic, radiation planning details, and post-procedural outcomes were compared between patients undergoing systematic transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) biopsy followed by MRI to those undergoing an MRI followed by a FB prior to radiation planning., Results: Forty-three patients underwent systematic TRUS biopsy followed by MRI and 46 patients underwent FB prior to radiation planning. Patients undergoing systematic TRUS biopsy had a smaller prostate volume when compared to the FB cohort (37.58 ± 13.78 versus 50.28 ± 26.76 cc, p = 0.007). No differences in prostate planning target volume (PTVprostate) and boost volume (PTVboost) were noted, but those undergoing TRUS biopsy prior to MRI had a higher integrated boost volume density (IBVD = PTVboost/total prostate volume) (0.16 ± 0.09 versus 0.13 ± 0.06, p = 0.045). No differences were observed in genitourinary or gastrointestinal toxicity rates., Conclusions: Compared to systematic TRUS biopsy, implementation of prebiopsy prostate MRI and FB allows for safe and feasible SBRT in patients with significantly larger prostate volumes without increasing SIB cancer-directed treatment volumes, oncologic outcomes, quality of life measures, or treatment-related toxicities.
