The rapid development of big data technology has attracted a variety of sectors, including tertiary education. The purpose of this paper is to construct a precision teaching mode based on big data technology in order to improve teaching quality and further promote education and teaching reform. The proposed mode, based on the theory of precision teaching in colleges and universities as well as the intrinsic properties of big data teaching activities, describes five procedures for analyzing learning situations, determining teaching goals, preparing teachers, and evaluating teachers. When the big data-based precision teaching mode is applied to the "Python Language Programming" course, the results show that students are more satisfied with the design of the teaching and more efficient in learning. It is believed that this mode will significantly improve students' academic performance and their ability to work independently and collaboratively as a result of more frequently online and offline interactions between teachers and students.

Reasonable determination of the water pressure on the shaft linings is the key to the optimization design of the vertical shaft of mining. The traditional water pressure calculation model is not suitable for the stratum conditions in western China. A new shaft-surrounding rock seepage model is proposed based on the coordinated seepage conditions of surrounding rock and shaft linings. In the model, the seepage within the shaft depth is assumed happening in a unit thickness confined aquifer. Thereby, the water pressure on the shaft linings is derived by the steady seepage theory, and the water pressure reduction coefficient is defined by normalizing the hydrostatic pressure. The influences of shaft diameter and shaft depth, the permeability coefficient of the surrounding rock, and the seepage flow on the water pressure reduction coefficient are analyzed. After that, the mechanism of reducing water pressure by grouting the surrounding rock is studied by considering the stratum conditions in western China. Finally, a practical equation, which only relating to the depth of the shaft, is fitted on account of the averaged water pressure reduction coefficient from the theoretical model. The effectiveness of the theoretical model and the fitted equation are verified by the measured data and data in the literature.

The incomplete combustion of biomass and fossil fuels results in the formation of not only black carbon (BC) but also black nitrogen (BN), the dissolved fractions of which (i.e., DBC and DBN) are important components of dissolved organic matter pool. Relative to DBC, the activity and reactivity of DBN are much less understood. Here, we investigated the catalytic effect of DBN derived from N-enriched biomass in the abiotic transformation of chlorophenols by sulfides. The medium-temperature DBN (450 °C) exhibited 13–144% higher catalytic efficiency than other DBN samples and 9.3 times higher than its DBC counterpart. Both electron paramagnetic resonance spectra and fluorescent probe technique indicated that the attached sulfides contributed to the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) as the "primary" radicals by favoring electron transfer from DBN to chemisorbed oxygen, and then the generated ROS reacted with N-oxides in DBN to form reactive nitrogen species (RNS) as the "secondary" radicals. The contribution of RNS to the decay of 2-chlorophenol by DBN450 was up to 72%, much higher than that of ROS and non-radical mechanism. These findings suggest that the catalytic effect of DBN is distinct but no less significant than that of DBC to the abiotic transformation of micropollutants in water/soil systems. Highlights: Dissolved black nitrogen is an overlooked active nano-catalyst in the natural environment. The medium-temperature dissolved black nitrogen exhibited the highest catalytic efficiency. Not only ROS but also RNS were generated in the dissolved black nitrogen-sulfide system. The contribution of RNS to the decay of 2-CP was higher than that of ROS and non-radical mechanism. Calculation of the electrostatic double layer force (EDL force) between clay particles is relevant as it is closely related to important macroscopic mechanical behaviors of clays. The popular method to calculate the EDL force is to integrate the electric potential and Maxwell stress along the boundary enclosing a simply connected domain within which a clay particle resides. The EDL force has also been calculated by the integration of the electrostatic force density over the preceding domain. However, the subtle relation of the EDL forces calculated by the different existing methods has not yet been investigated. By means of theoretical analysis and finite element simulation, it was shown that the force calculated by the integration of Maxwell stress along the complete boundary enclosing a multiply connected domain in which the clay particle is excluded, and that along the partial boundary enclosing the preceding simply connected domain represents the electrical attractive force and osmotic repulsive force, respectively, while the integration of the potential along both the same complete and partial boundary denotes the osmotic force. Numerical results showed that the calculated EDL force deviates from its actual value significantly with the decrease in distance between the chosen integral boundary and particle surface, and the deviation varies with surface potential and angle between particles. Moreover, the recommended minimum distance was proposed to be 10 times the thickness of the particle based on the present simulation results.

Comprehensive Summary: A new electrochemical strategy for the atom transfer radical addition (ATRA) of polychloroalkanes across olefins has been realized by the synergism of paired electrolysis and halogen bonding activation. Notably, readily accessible 4,4‐di‐tert‐butyl bipyridine (dtbpy), acting as a halogen bonding acceptor, shifted the reduction potential of C—Cl bonds positively by 110 mV. The decreased operating potential leads to a wide substrate scope and excellent functional group compatibility. A diverse array of terminal and internal alkenes such as (hetero)aryl olefins, unactive aliphatic olefins, and natural products and drugs‐derived olefins were well compatible. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: The aim of this study was to translate the Australian Environmental Assessment Tool (EAT) into Chinese and identify culturally specific characteristics in the Chinese context for adaptation. Background: In the context of dementia-specific care, the design of the environment is considered an influential factor in supporting and maintaining skills. However, despite the increasing number of individuals with dementia in China, there is currently no valid instrument available to systematically assess the quality of the physical environment in long-term care facilities (LTCFs). Methods: This study utilized a mixed-method procedure consisting of seven steps, including translation and adaptation. The study involved focus groups comprising an expert panel (n = 17) and potential users (n = 64) of the newly developed tool. Cross-cultural adaptation was performed through Chinese literature review and literature quality appraisal, field study, and expert committee review. Results: The final version of the China Environmental Assessment Tool (C-EAT) consisted of 10 key design principles and 64 items. The C-EAT was tested in four LTCFs in China and underwent two rounds of review by an expert panel. Conclusions: The C-EAT was deemed a suitable tool for assessing the environment and enhancing the living environments for individuals with dementia in LTCFs in China. This paper proposes a one-dimensional (1D) thermomechanical model for clays and its optimisation method for identifying the parameters from only limited laboratory tests. First, a new thermomechanical model accounting for the volumetric expansion and shrinkage behaviour under heating–cooling cycle is proposed for test simulations. Then, the optimisation-based parameter identification is proposed. A newly developed mutation is adopted to enhance the original Nelder–Mead differential evolution algorithm (NMDE). In the optimisation, the laboratory tests on Bangkok clay are selected as objective, with two temperature-controlled oedometer tests and three heating–cooling cycle tests under different overconsolidation ratios (OCRs). The sensitivity of model parameters is analysed by a sensitivity analysis method. Five state-of-the-art optimisation algorithms are chosen as comparison to highlight the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed NMDE. Finally, the optimal parameters are verified by comparing with other experimental results and predictions on two other clays. All comparisons show that a reliable solution can be acquired by the proposed optimisation together with the thermomechanical model, which is practically useful with a reduction in testing costs.
