This paper summarized the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) nursing of a patient with postoperative pain after surgery for breast cancer. The patient had received a comprehensive nursing assessment after hospital admission. Based on the TCM syndrome differentiation, appropriate technique of TCM nursing including TCM ointment massage, cupping therapy, TCM medication and emotional care were carried out to relieve the negative emotion and postoperative pain of the patient. Objective To explore the effect of different operating sequences of acupoint application and moxibustion on relieving the pain in patients with knee osteoarthritis. Methods Sixty patients with knee osteoarthritis were randomly divided into group A (n=30) and group B (n=30). The sequence of operations in Group A was as follows: first applying acupoints, and then conducting moxibustion at the same site for 30 minutes. In Group B, the sequence of operations was as follows: first applying moxibustion for 30 minutes, and then applying acupoints at the moxibustion site. The course of treatment was 2 weeks. This paper observed the effect of wax therapy with Chinese herbal medicine in nursing of a patient with bone arthralgia. After a comprehensive nursing evaluation and diagnosis, the wax therapy with Chinese herbal medicine was carried out under the guidance of Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, and nursing interventions such as basic care, dietary management, psychological care and functional exercise were enhanced during the hospitalization. The Numerical Rating Scale score on pain decreased and Barthel index score increased after treatment, indicating the efficacy of wax therapy with Chinese herbal medicine in relieving pain and improving the quality of life in the patient with bone arthralgia.
