The paper aims to analyse the challenges European supply chains face in the context of satellite communications (specifically, in the Copernicus programme) amidst geopolitical and pandemic disruptions. It focuses on identifying factors and barriers and recommended solutions to enhance resilience in these supply chains. The study employs a comprehensive approach, incorporating Delphi surveys, a literature review, and the STEEPED analysis. Experts from the satellite communications field participated in the Delphi survey, and the study scrutinised the impact of Delphi theses on various stages of supply chains. STEEPED analysis was used to identify factors enhancing the resilience of European supply chains in satellite communications. An analysis of their validity and uncertainty was also carried out. The research highlights the factors influencing supply chain resilience within satellite communications, emphasising the importance of coping with uncertainty, shocks, and disruptions. The study presents valuable recommendations to strengthen supply chain resilience amid infrastructural and geopolitical challenges. This research enriches insights into building resilience strategies for European supply chains operating within intricate and uncertain environments. By analysing the role of the Copernicus programme and Earth observation data, the paper contributes to the theoretical framework, providing essential knowledge for managing supply chains in a dynamic and complex environment. The study’s recommendations offer practical guidance for EU institutions overseeing the Copernicus programme and its users. By effectively leveraging Copernicus and Earth observation data, stakeholders can enhance their analysis methods. These insights enable practical actions to be taken, ensuring the continuity and stability of European supply chains amidst challenging global scenarios.

Metalloproteinases (MMP)s regulate developmental processes, control angiogenesis and wound healing, participate in the formation of immune receptors, and are expressed in stem cells. Retinoic acid (RA) is a potential modulator of these proteinases. The aim was to determine (1) MMPs' action in antler stem cells (ASCs) before and after differentiation into adipo-, osteo-, and chondrocytes and (2) the effect of RA on modifying MMP action in ASCs. Antler tissue from pedicle was collected approximately 40 days after antler casting, post mortem from healthy breeding five year old males (N = 7). The cells were isolated from the pedicle layer of periosteum after skin separation and cultured. The pluripotency of the ASCs was evaluated by mRNA expression for NANOG, SOX2, and OCT4. ASCs were stimulated with RA (100nM) and differentiated for 14 days. The MMP (1–3) and TIMP(1–3) (tissue inhibitor of MMPs) mRNA expression was determined in the ASCs, their concentrations in the ASCs and the medium after RA stimulation as well as profiles of mRNA expression for MMPs: 1–3 and TIMPs: 1–3 during differentiation of ASC to osteocytes, adipocytes and chondrocytes. RA increased MMP-3 and TIMP-3 mRNA expression and output (P < 0.05) and not influenced on MMP-1 and TIMP-1 mRNA expression and output in ASC (P > 0.05). Depending on differentiation of ASC to osteocytes, adipocytes or chondrocytes, MMPs'and TIMPs'expression profile fluctuates for all studied proteases and its inhibitors. The studies demand continuation considering the role of proteases in stem cells physiology and differentiation. The results may be relevant for the study of cellular processes during the cancerogenesis of tumor stem cells. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: Organizational ambidexterity is a promising concept in management science. It is defined as the ability of a company to leverage existing resources by increasing the productivity of current products and services while exploring development niches. The aim of the article is to identify the leading research areas within organizational ambidexterity based on bibliometric analysis carried out on a collection of scientific articles and conference papers indexed in the Scopus database. Findings: Data visualisation was prepared using VOSviewer software (version 1.6.15), which allows analysis of the frequency of keywords in the analysed dataset and, at the same time, an analysis of their co-occurrence with other keywords. The article presents visualisations in the form of both a label view and a density view. Using the VOSviewer software, a summary of 2255 keywords was generated based on the uploaded set of publications and a dictionary allowing the combination or deletion of individual terms. The final map consisted of 36 keywords grouped into six clusters. The theoretical contribution of the paper consists in the identification of six clusters revolving around the issue of organisational ambidexterity. The clusters refer to 1) the relationship between organisational ambidexterity and a company’s ability to innovate, 2) organisational ambidexterity and dynamic capabilities, 3) perception of organisational ambidexterity as a useful framework of product development 4) perception of organisational ambidexterity as a framework to support human resource management, 5) the notion of exploitation and exploration and 6) contextual ambidexterity. Research limitations/implications: The analysis revealed a clear trend away from analysing structural and temporal ambidexterity in companies towards attributing more importance to individual ambidexterity which may be an interesting subject of future research inquiry. A limitation of the study is that it was based on publications from a single database, therefore it is interesting to analyse comparisons between other databases such as Web of Science or IEEE. Originality/value: The article fills the cognitive gap in demonstrating the latest trends in the research field. The findings could serve as a guide for researchers who aim for better understanding of the main progress and promising research trends in the field of organisational ambidexterity. Summary: The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of nitrate reduction and storage time on the content of amino acids and biogenic amines (BAs), total antioxidant capacity (TAC) and antioxidative properties of peptides isolated from dry fermented loins. The results showed that reducing the addition of nitrates increased the amount of BAs formed during storage of dry fermented loins. The lowest TAC value (tested by ABTS assay) was recorded for the sample with the highest nitrate addition (150 mg kg‐1) at beginning, while the highest value was noted for the sample without nitrate addition at 180 days of storage. The amino acid profile showed that dry fermented loin with the highest addition of nitrate was characterised by a significantly lower content of amino acids, which are precursors of key aroma compounds compared with loin samples with a lower amount of added sodium nitrate. The sum of ranking differences (SRD) indicated that loin sample with traditional addition of nitrate (150 mg kg‐1) after 120 days of storage was characterised by the lowest SRD result, which means that they are the closest to the assumed values, that is the lowest content of BAs, the highest antioxidant activity and amino acid patterns recommended by WHO/FAO/UNU Experts.
