For patients with locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), concurrent chemoradiotherapy is the foundational treatment strategy. Adding induction chemotherapy did not achieve a superior efficacy but increased the burden from toxicity. Accordingly, we retrospectively investigated the toxicity patterns through pooling individual patient data of the Cancer and Leukemia Group B (CALGB)/Alliance trials.We included a total of 637 patients with unresectable stage III NSCLC who received induction chemotherapy with a platinum doublet and concurrent chemoradiotherapy and experienced at least one adverse event (AE) in CALGB 9130, 9431, 9534, 30105, 30106 and 39801 trials. The following toxicity occurrence patterns were evaluated: top 10 most frequent AEs, AE distribution by grade, rate of treatment discontinuation due to AEs, associations of AE occurrence with patient characteristics and treatment phase, the time to the first grade ≥3 AE occurrence and its associations with patient characteristics and treatment phase.The occurrence of AEs was the main reason accounting for treatment discontinuation (60 of 637 among all patients; 18 of 112 patients who experienced the induction phase only; 42 of 525 patients who experienced both phases). All patients experienced a total of 11,786 AEs (grade ≥3: 1,049 of 5,538 in induction phase, 1,382 of 6,248 in concurrent phase). Lymphocytes and white blood count were of top 3 grade ≥3 AEs that patients experienced the most in the either phase. Multivariable analysis found AE occurrence was associated with age ≥65 [any grade: odds ratio (OR) =1.44, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.12-1.86] and the concurrent phase (grade ≥3: OR =1.86, 95% CI: 1.41-2.47; any grade: OR =1.47, 95% CI: 1.19-1.81). Patients in the concurrent phase were more likely and earlier to develop grade ≥3 AEs than those in the induction phase [hazard ratio (HR) =4.37, 95% CI: 2.52-7.59].The report provides a better understanding regarding the toxicity occurrence patterns in concurrent chemoradiotherapy after induction chemotherapy.

In order to optimize robot road planning, automation will increase production efficiency and reduce production costs. An improved ant colony algorithm based on a two-dimensional flat path planning study divided the three-dimensional space into planes, rasterized each plane, and replaced the original shape by storing a pheromone at the intersection. The pheromone storage space along the route will be reduced, and a three-dimensional space route planning study will be gradually conducted. As complex 3D environments and landscape features change, obstacle avoidance strategies have increased, road heuristics have improved, and new heuristic features have emerged. The initial value of the road node pheromone increases the efficiency of early ant search because of the uneven distribution of starting point, target point location information, and forward direction. After each iteration, the stuck ants that did not reach the target point are discarded according to the high-quality ant renewal rules, the iteration threshold is set, and the pheromone fluctuation coefficient is adjusted as the algorithm tends to merge. Compared with the basic ant colony algorithm, the convergence iteration times of the improved ant colony algorithm in this paper are reduced by about 40%, and the optimal path length is shortened by about 10. The duration of the algorithm increases. In terms of algorithm performance, it takes some time to improve the ant colony algorithm. Because of the complexity of the algorithm, some search strategies are added to the algorithm. The contribution of this article is the basis for the mobile robot to walk accurately from the initial position to the working position and perform various tasks independently.

We aimed to verify the prognosis of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation of clinical (c)-stage IA lung adenocarcinoma with the ground-glass opacity (GGO) component.We evaluated 226 cases of surgically resected c-stage IA lung adenocarcinoma with GGO component. Endpoints were overall survival (OS) and recurrence-free survival (RFS). Kaplan-Meier analysis and the log-rank test were used to estimate the survival differences. Prognostic factors were assessed using the univariable and multivariable Cox proportional hazards model.Among the 226 cases, 177 cases harbored the EGFR-mutant adenocarcinoma with the GGO component. The mean duration of follow-up time was 54.4 ± 1.2 months. The 5-year OS and RFS did not differ significantly between the EGFR-mutant and wild-type groups (5-year OS 100% vs. 94.3%, hazard ratio [HR] 0.276, P = 0.168; 5-year RFS 94.7% vs. 95.7%, HR 0.873, P = 0.864). Multivariable Cox hazard model revealed that radiologically solid component size (P = 0.010) and pathological node-positive (P = 0.036) were significant predictors of an inferior RFS.EGFR-mutant was not a prognostic factor of OS and RFS for c-stage IA lung adenocarcinoma with the GGO component. Radiologically solid component size and pathological lymph node status were independent prognostic factors of worse RFS.

Scutellaria baicalensis (SB) and Coptis chinensis (CC) are widely used traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for "heat-clearing and damp-drying" and "purging fire and detoxifying". SB-CC are commonly used as a herbal pair for synergistic treatment of various diseases such as bacteria-related infections, metabolic syndromes, and some inflammatory disorders. This herbal pair is commonly used in many famous TCM formula, like Huang-Lian-Jie-Du, Gegen-Qinlian, Banxia Xiexin decoction. Aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) plays an essential role in the disposition of both xenobiotics and endogenous substances through the induction of cytochrome P450 1A (CYP1A) enzymes. Regulation of the AHR-CYP1A axis is increasingly implicated in drug-drug and drug-herb interactions. Research on SB-CC for regulatory effect on the AHR-CYP1A axis is only limited to few compounds.This study aimed to systematically investigate the regulatory effect of SB-CC and its main constitutes on the AHR-CYP1A axis in vitro and in vivo.The livers of mice treated with SB-CC extract were subjected to RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq). The key target genes related to drug metabolism were screened, and the differential expression genes (DEGs) were validated by qRT-PCR, Western blot, and enzyme activity assay. Luciferase reporter gene, qRT-PCR, and Western blot assays were used to determine whether SB-CC and their main constituents could activate AHR and regulate CYP1A expression in HepG2 cells. The effect of SB-CC on the pharmacokinetics of phenacetin, a CYP1A substrate, were further observed in mice to test the net effect of SB-CC on CYP1A functions. The potential CYP1A inhibitors in SB-CC were screened and their inhibitory mechanisms were also studied using human liver microsomes.AHR and drug metabolism system, especially CYP1A1 and CYP1A2, were strongly affected in the liver of SB-CC-treated mice. These results were further validated by the findings that SB-CC increased CYP1A's mRNA, protein expression and activity in mouse liver. In HepG2 cells, SB, CC, baicalin, baicalein, chrysin, oroxylin A, berberine, coptisine and epiberberine increased CYP1A1 mRNA expression in an AHR-dependent way. Interestingly, SB-CC treatment for 14 days only slightly increased the systemic exposure of paracetamol in mice. In the CYP1A inhibition assay, SB, CC, baicalin, baicalein, wogonoside, wogonin, chrysin, oroxylin A, scutellarein, columbamine, coptisine, palmatine, epiberberine, and berberrubine inhibited CYP1A activity in different degree.These results suggested that SB-CC exerted dual regulatory effect on the AHR-CYP1A axis by increasing CYP1A expression but simultaneously inhibiting CYP1A activity, which may contribute to a tight modulation of AHR signaling for homeostatic control.

The spin–orbit torque via the spin Hall effect of heavy metals has shown promising prospect in driving the magnetization switching in spintronic devices due to the generated spin current from heavy metals. Recently, the 3d-light metals have been predicted the ability to generate orbital current and the associated orbital torques from the orbital Hall effect. However, few experiments have been carried out since it is quite hard to directly detect the orbital current-generated orbital torque. Here, we report an effective method to demonstrate the strong orbital torques in light metal Cr through a conversion process from orbital current to spin current by introducing the Pt interfacial layer in perpendicularly magnetized symmetric Pt/Co/Pt structures. A quite large and monotonically growth of orbital torque efficiency in Pt/Co/Pt/Cr with the increase of the thickness of Cr layer is obtained with the largest effective orbital torque efficiency around 2.6 Oe/(MA⋅cm−2) (1 Oe = 79.5775 A⋅m−1). The ability of orbital torque to drive the magnetization switching is also reported with the critical switching current density down to the order of 106 A⋅cm−2. Our findings prove the efficiency for switching the magnetization from light metal Cr layers through the orbital Hall effect.

The pump as turbines (PATs) has been widely used in the petrochemical, seawater desalination, and mining industries. Volutes are critical components for flow guidance and energy conversion in the PATs. Therefore, its inner flow characteristic could significantly influence the hydraulic turbine system stability. To reveal the vortex evolution, pressure pulsation characteristics, and the interaction between the two in the volute of PATs, a single-stage cantilever hydraulic turbine is investigated by the numerical and experiment method. The effect of impeller rotation on vorticity distribution and pressure fluctuation intensity in volute is analyzed based on the numerical simulation results. By clarifying the frequency components corresponding to local high amplitude vorticity and pressure pulsations, the relationship between vortex evolution and pressure pulsations is established. The results showed that the dominant frequency of pressure pulsation in the circumferential direction of the volute is 6fn under different operating conditions, and the pressure pulsation characteristics in the inlet section of the volute were less affected by the rotor–stator interaction. Under Qb and 1.3Qb conditions, the vorticity pulsation near the walls in the circumferential direction of the volute had less effect on local pressure pulsation characteristics. The evolution of vorticity at the leading edge of the volute tongue intensified the local pressure pulsations as the flow rate increased. Under 0.7Qb conditions, the vorticity pulsation characteristics in the volute are complex and have a relatively significant influence on local pressure pulsation.

The spin–orbit torques originating from the spin Hall effect of heavy metals are of vital importance for applications in spintronics due to its low consumption of energy. Theoretical calculations have predicted that 3 d and 4 d light metals can produce a similar amount of torques to heavy metals via the strong orbital Hall effect (OHE). However, few experiments have been conducted since it is technically challenging to directly detect the orbital current from the OHE. Here, we report an effective approach to demonstrate the strong orbital torques in the light metal Cr with the aid of a conversion process from the orbital current to the spin current by introducing an Au interfacial layer in the Cr/ferromagnet structures. A rather large orbital torque efficiency and an increase with the increasing thickness of the Cr-layer are attained in the perpendicularly magnetized Cr/Au/Co/Ti multilayers. Moreover, an energy efficient magnetization switching and the domain wall motion in Cr/Au/Co/Ti multilayers induced by the OHE have also been observed. Our findings confirm the existence of the orbital Hall torques in Cr and provide an effective way to investigate the OHE.

Rural cultural space is the embodiment of the cultural core of a village. The integrated development of rural culture and tourism has promoted the reconstruction of rural cultural space. Agricultural cultural space and daily life space have been transformed into commercial cultural space and tourism activity space, and the subject of cultural activities has become more and more diversified. Through the multi-level reconstruction of cultural physical space, activity space and institutional space, a path for cultural revitalization and tourism development can be found for rural areas.

Globally, over the past two decades, many countries have significantly reduced the rate of infant mortality. Yet, in Africa, Nigeria remains one of the countries with the highest infant mortality rate (IMR).We conducted a population-level study using the 2018 Nigeria Demographic Health Survey (NDHS). A total of 41,668 household data were analyzed retrospectively. The association between each exposure and infant mortality was analyzed in logistic regression models (independently adjusted by demographic and socioeconomic status variables) and confirmed by the multiple comparisons analysis.The overall IMR of 2013-2017 was 61.5 (95% CI 58.0, 65.3) per 1000 live births. In general, the North-West and North-East regions had the highest IMR, whereas the South-West, South-East and South-South regions had the lowest IMR. The regression analysis found women who delivered their babies at the age=18 years old (odds ratio (OR): 1.37 [1.17, 1.62]), had religion of Islam (OR: 1.35 [1.10, 1.65]), no ANC visit (OR: 1.69 [1.21, 2.35]),4 ANC visits (OR: 1.70 [1.23, 2.34]), ANC not at home or skilled provider (0.40 [0.35, 0.46]) and the babies as the first child (OR: 1.23 [1.07, 1.42]) to be associated with higher IMR.Our findings imply that Nigeria is not on track to achieving the SDG target of reducing child mortality by 2030. Sustainable interventions are urgently needed to address the challenges for women of reproductive age, particularly those that are living in the rural areas and Northern regions, having limited/no access to health care/skilled providers, and delivered their first child.None.
