Food security is a matter of great importance for the nation. The high-quality development of the grain industry is the key to maintaining national food security, and new quality productivity is an important driving force for achieving high-quality development of the grain industry. This article has systematically reviews the existing research on agricultural new quality productivity. It aimed to analyze the formation mechanism of new quality productive forces from a theoretical perspective, and defined the basic connotation of new quality productive forces in the food industry. It explained the typical characteristics of new quality productivity in the grain industry from three levels: high technology, high efficiency, and high quality. From a practical perspective, this article pointed out the current challenges faced by the development of new quality productivity in China's grain industry, including insufficient technological level, severe resource and environmental constraints, prominent quality and safety issues, and a shortage of professional and technical talents. Corresponding suggestions of implementation paths have been proposed, including strengthening technological innovation and application, optimizing various resource allocation, strengthening quality and safety supervision, and emphasizing talent cultivation and introduction, to promote the sustainable, healthy, and high-quality development of the grain industry.

The object of this paper is blockchain technology in the tracking system of grain supply chains. The current study considers the task of determining the impact of blockchain technology introduction on the tracking system of grain supply chains. The key problems in the system of grain supply chains have been identified and the tasks to solve them have been proposed. The characteristics of key technologies in the implementation of blockchain in the system of grain supply chains have been defined, such as smart contracts, the Internet of Things (IoT), interplanetary file system (IPFS), contactless tags (RFID), Ethereum platform (identified as the best for supply chain tracking). The influence of factors on the introduction of blockchain technologies into the grain supply chain tracking system was determined using a SWOT analysis. Strengths include transparency, increased trust, automation of processes and protection against falsification. Weaknesses include high implementation costs, difficulty scaling, and the need for staff training. Opportunities that open up through the use of blockchain include attracting new partners, increasing competitiveness, and developing new markets. Threats include legal difficulties, technical failures, high energy costs, and resistance from market participants. An assessment of the investment attractiveness of introducing blockchain technology into the grain supply chain tracking system was carried out by calculating such indicators as economic effect; net present value (NPV) of implementing blockchain technologies; payback period of investments. According to the results of analysis, the following data were obtained: NPV (150439 a.u.)>0, the payback period of investments is 2.8 years, which is acceptable for large agricultural holdings. Prospects for development have been determined, in particular, the unification of agricultural holdings for the joint implementation of blockchain technologies in the tracking system of grain supply chains, which would be a strategically beneficial solution for all participants in the supply chain. Talent has always been the "bottleneck" that puzzles and restricts the development of China's grain industry. To promote the digital transformation of China's grain industry, from the perspective of the cultivation of digital talents in the grain industry, this paper analyzes the direction of digital transformation and the demand for digital talents in the grain industry. Secondly, the article uses SWOT method to analyze the advantages and disadvantages, opportunities and challenges of digital talent cultivation in China's grain industry. According to the results of SWOT analysis, the article constructs four paths for the cultivation of digital talents in China's grain industry around the four major talent cultivation subjects of government, industry, universities and scientific research institutions. Finally, based on the current situation that the strength of digital talent cultivation in China's grain industry outweigh the weakness, and the opportunities outweigh the threats, the article makes a specific analysis of the proposed path of reverse talent cultivation. This study evaluates the impact of the introduction of deep grain processing on the development of grain processing enterprises. The main problems of processing grain crops in the Republic of Kazakhstan have been considered. The need to assess the impact of the innovative process of enterprise development was outlined. The research was carried out in the North-Kazakhstan region; the object of the study was the grain processing industries in the NorthKazakhstan region. The results show the following: 1) total cost savings when expanding the level of gluten consumption (up to 3 % by weight of the volume of flour consumed) will save USD 18.5 billion. The savings are due to the significant improvement in the baking properties of the flour when adding 1−3 % gluten to the level of the highest quality wheat flour. At the same time, due to the manufacturability of the process and the use of the lowest quality raw materials, the unit cost of gluten in terms of protein is lower than the price of high-quality wheat necessary for baking; 2) in the processing of starch and amino acids, grain starch is the main product of world trade among all goods of the grain processing industry, and gluten ranks only second in terms of world imports. The share of issued patents in the area of starch production is also leading among the sectors of deep grain processing; 3) the implementation of the developed project for deep processing of grain in Northern Kazakhstan could significantly improve the indicators of innovative development of the country: the increase in innovative products of the manufacturing industry in the country as a whole would be 19.1 %. The growth of non-resource exports would equal 1.5 %. The annual increase in the enterprise’s revenue could be about USD 0.47 per USD 1 of investment costs compared to the base scenario for the sale of unprocessed wheat. The scope of practical application of the results extends to the grain industry. 中国粮油学会科学技术奖（简称“粮油科技奖”）是我国粮食行业唯一的科技奖励。为促进粮油科技奖持续健康发展，更好地发挥粮油科技奖的激励导向作用，简要回顾梳理了近二十年（2005—2023年）来粮油科技奖概况，总结分析了粮油科技奖的特点和实效，提出了奖励工作面临的挑战与建议。2005—2023年，共受理项目1 055项，获奖项目609项，其中特等奖6项，一等奖96项，二等奖212项，三等奖295项。粮油科技奖励工作具有奖励机制不断完善，注重发挥示范引领作用，扎实推进科技兴粮兴储，提高企业自主创新能力等特点。为了提高新时期粮油科技奖励工作的质量和水平，提出注重成果转化，促进科技与经济深度融合，强化品牌效应，提升奖励价值，以及推动国际化，扩大奖励影响力等建议。The Chinese Cereals and Oil Association Science and Technology Award(referred to as "Cereals and Oils Science and Technology Award") is the only science and technology award in China′s grain industry. In order to promote the sustainable and healthy development of the Cereals and Oils Science and Technology Awards, and better play the incentive and guiding role of the Cereals and Oils Science and Technology Awards, the Cereals and Oils Science and Technology Awards in the past nearly two decades(2005—2023) were briefly reviewed, the characteristics and effectiveness of the Cereals and Oils Science and Technology Awards were summarized and analyzed, and the challenges and suggestions faced by the award work were put forward. From 2005 to 2023, a total of 1 055 projects were accepted and 609 award-winning projects were awarded, including 6 special prizes, 96 first prizes, 212 second prizes and 295 third prizes. The cereals and oils science and technology award work had the characteristics of continuous improvement of the reward mechanism, paying attention to the demonstration and leading role, promotion of science and technology grain storage, and improving the independent innovation ability of enterprises. Some suggestion, such as paying attention to the transformation of achievements to promote the deep integration of science and technology and economy, strengthening the brand effect to enhance the value of reward, promoting internationalization to expand the influence of reward were put forward so as to improve the quality and level of cereals and oils science and technology reward work in the new era.

Rational energy management in food production is one of the key actions in the context of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Ongoing rapid climate change and global warming are making energy consumption an increasingly critical point in food production, throughout the "farm-to-table" manufacturing chain. The carbon footprint (CF) can be used to assess the amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the area of food cultivation, production and distribution. The work purpose was to characterize the CF methodology on the basis of literature data, to analyze manufacturing processes in production plants to determine the shares of each type of emissions for selected products and to identify directions for optimizing technology (the scope of analysis—from raw material input to product output). A literature analysis of agriculturally important grain products was undertaken. Methods of carbon footprint analysis were analyzed. There is no standardized methodology for a given product group, with individual approaches designed for each product group existing in the literature. PAS 2050 is the most common standard focused on quantifying GHG emissions created during the life cycle of specific goods/services, without considering potential environmental, social and economic impacts.
