A 69-year-old White man was referred to a dermatologist with an asymptomatic lesion on the nape of his neck. The lesion was a cherry-red plaque with no surface change. The patient had no history of trauma, skin cancer, or immunocompromisation. A biopsy revealed sun-damaged skin with thin-walled vessels and a mild lymphocytic infiltrate, leading to a diagnosis of acquired elastotic haemangioma (AEH). AEH is a rare condition that typically presents as a slow-growing plaque or patch on sun-exposed skin in older individuals.
