This capstone project tells the untold story of marine diamond mining, tracing its origins from the shores of Namibia to the fjords of Greenland. Despite the stark differences between these two locales, they share striking similarities in diamond potential. In Namibia, marine diamond mining flourished prior to the country's independence and the establishment of international mining laws, setting a precedent for potential challenges in Greenland's current political landscape. Through in-depth research, stakeholder interviews, and media production, this project fosters an informed storyline for a full-length documentary film. The capstone deliverables encompass a film treatment, budget, film plan, concise trailer, and transcribed interviews, strategically crafted towards securing future support of the project. The outcome of such seeking to advocate for greater transparency in the diamond industry and policies that prioritize both economic development and environmental integrity. Restoring a World Natural Heritage Site (WNHS) after a disaster to attract tourists raises multifaceted issues that concern heritage authenticity, environmental ethics, and tourists' acceptance. In the case of Jiuzhaigou post-earthquake landscape, this study analyses authenticity perceptions, attitudes, and behavioral intentions of tourists and explores environmental ethics through three perspectives. Results reveal tourists' authenticity perception affects their attitudes and behaviors towards environmental restoration. Moreover, tourists tend to recognize and support Awe for Nature (Awe-N) more than Respect for Nature (Res-N) and significant differentiation exists among potential tourists according to their environmental ethics, demographic characteristics, and behaviors. Altogether, our work presents innovative arguments on post-disaster WNHS restoration by highlighting the complexities of heritage authenticity, environmental ethics, and tourist' dynamics. Green technology innovation is a vital strategic driver for the sustainable development of an organization and is pitched toward energy conservation, pollution mitigation, and waste recycling. This study investigates the influence of the green technology orientation of the top management on a hotel's green competitive advantage. It considers the effects of green human capital, green structural capital, and green relational capital. It adopts a partial least square structural equation model (PLS-SEM) to test hypotheses using 380 data samples from top employees of hotels in the USA. The statistical results show that corporate environmental ethics, stakeholder pressure, and market demand for green processes positively affect green technology involvement. Furthermore, findings of green human and structural capital positively affect green competitive advantage. The study sheds light on the significance of green competitive advantage in the hotel industry while providing novel perspectives on the deficiencies and vulnerabilities of the competitive hotel business. • Refugia or refuges are a concept that can contribute to an understanding of survival in the Anthropocene at different levels of abstraction. • Urban green spaces are areas where interactions between human and non-human nature can occur. They serve as refuges in the city and can be beneficial for both biodiversity and human well-being. • Over 70 % of the reviewed studies report positive effects of unmown refuges on arthropod abundance and richness in meadows or green spaces. • Unmown refuges allow habitat heterogeneity, a shelter for surviving arthropods from mowing, a chance for larval development, and a place to hibernate. Large refugia and small refuges have always been crucial for species survival, particularly during periods like the Ice Age. When their original habitats became uninhabitable, they provided important shelters in space and time. Drawing from a biological and philosophical perspective, we propose creating and preserving refuges as socio-ecological solutions in an epoch primarily shaped by human activity, the Anthropocene. Our focus lies on green refuges within urban settings, given that urbanization is one of the large drivers of insect decline and has adverse effects on humans, such as increased heat. Refuges can be beneficial for both biodiversity and human well-being. After clarifying the relevant terminology on four levels of abstraction, we conducted a systematic biological literature review - as a case study. Here, we summarize the current state of research on the effects of unmown refuges on insects and spiders. The mere existence of refuges proved beneficial for arthropods, with over 70 % of studies reporting positive responses among these species. While insects and spiders have specific habitat requirements, humans are able to create a habitable environment for themselves. However, ecological crises for humans and arthropods are increasing, as are human populations. Drawing on tournament theory, we argue that when environmental goals are incorporated into the cadre evaluation system, compared to officials who are close to retirement (i.e., retiring officials), non-retiring officials may exert more effort to foster risky green innovation. Based on a sample of publicly traded firms from heavily polluting industries in China between 2008 and 2016, we hypothesize and find that confronted with severe environmental pollution, firms in provinces with non-retiring governors have higher green innovation performance than those in provinces with retiring governors. Moreover, we find that this effect is stronger for firms in provinces whose governors have higher promotion anticipation, for local state-owned enterprises (SOEs), and for politically connected firms. Our study identifies the political incentives of government officials as an important antecedent of corporate green innovation and highlights the value of establishing a "green" cadre evaluation system to promote sustainable development. Amidst increasing polarization on climate policy, Pope Francis’ exhortation Laudate Deum (October 2023) is a contribution to keep the planetary emergency up on the global agenda. In contrast with his previous encyclical Laudato si’, the Pontiff unequivocally states the anthropic origin of climate change. Justifying his plea with the lack of progress of multilateralism without formal mechanisms of enforcement, the Pontiff explicitly calls for new governance arrangements and binding instruments for the enforcement of climate protection agreements. With no legal character for the Church, the document has had no strong effect in the short run. However, in line with recent pronouncements of other religious leaders, it is a vigorous moral challenge to climate scepticism and inertia, restating the engagement of religion as an agent for change in promoting climate action. Based on institutional theory, environmental regulation (ER) is considered the primary factor in stimulating green innovation (GI) in enterprises. The existing literature has extensively explored the ER-GI relationship, but conclusions are still inconsistent, which is related to neglecting the dual heterogeneity in this relationship. Hence, we divide ER into command ER (CER) and incentive ER (MER), and GI into compliant GI (CGI) and strategic GI (SGI) to address this research gap. Employing a questionnaire survey of Chinese manufacturing enterprises, we re-examined the ER-GI relationship and tried to identify the moderating effect of environmental ethics (EE). The results show that CER and MER positively affect CGI and SGI. Furthermore, under the CER, there is increased accessibility to adopting CGI. Under the MER, the likelihood of choosing SGI is higher. Moreover, we find that heterogeneous ERs are more conducive to SGI under the moderating effect of EE. This study has significantly contributed to the literature on the ER-GI relationship. The essay draws on Michel Serres' writings on education in order to derive from them a general theory. Though the polyglot philosopher never presented his philosophy of education as a formal system, it was a lifelong concern that he addressed from the perspectives of mathematics and physics; literature and myth; art and aesthetics; justice and the law. Ever elusive in his prose style, Serres was a magnetic and infectious educator who, ironically, and perhaps understandably, did not gain the sort of following enjoyed by other French philosophers with whom he cuts such a contrast. The essay assesses the Serresian pedagogy in three key areas: the mutual translatability of the pedagogies of the humanities and arts versus those of the social and hard sciences; the urgent need for an environmental ethics of education; and the permeation of effective instruction by aesthetics. This article investigates the impact of R&D support on sustainable innovation through the mediating role of green technology transfer. Based on our analysis of data from 220 firms in Vietnam, we find the following: (1) R&D support has a positive impact on green technology transfer, (2) green technology transfer mediates the relationship between R&D support and sustainable innovation, and (3) The influence of green technology transfer on sustainable innovation is heightened in the presence of a firm's commitment to environmental ethics. These findings underline the critical role of government R&D funding in shaping sustainable innovation in emerging markets. The findings further show the crucial role of environmental commitment as a moderating factor in green technology transfer contexts. The study, based on a compilation of 138 studies, illuminates the significant impact of eco-spirituality in promoting the shift towards environmental sustainability. An in-depth examination of academic literature uncovers key patterns in the realm of eco-spirituality research. Despite emerging in the early 1990s, scholarly attention remained limited until the 21st century, witnessing a significant surge post-2019, indicating growing recognition within academia. Publications predominantly originated from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, India, and Switzerland, reflecting global interest and engagement across diverse cultural landscapes. Key journals, including Religions, emerged as prominent platforms, in highlighting the interdisciplinary nature of eco-spirituality research. The study underscores the interdisciplinary nature of eco-spirituality, transcending disciplinary boundaries to incorporate insights from environmental studies, theology, psychology, sociology, anthropology, and philosophy. The synthesis of 138 studies illustrates the crucial contribution of eco-spirituality towards enhancing environmental sustainability, showcasing prominent patterns in academic focus and international dissemination of findings. Scholarly attention to eco-spirituality surged post-2019, resulting in 74 published articles, with 2021 marking the peak at 15 articles and the United States contributing 38 publications. This study highlights the interdisciplinary character of eco-spirituality studies and its capacity to connect theoretical understandings with real-world implementations, advocating for inclusive methodologies and encouraging exploration beyond the confines of academia. This study contributes to meaningful societal change through environmental education, community engagement, and policy development. This article confronts strands of thought in environmental ethics with environmental economics. Three approaches in ethics are addressed: that pointing to the rights of individual natural entities, the holistic approach, and the relational approach of Human and Nature. They are confronted with three strands of thought in environmental economics: the welfare economics approach, the biophysical-centric approach, the relational economic approach. This article offers a conceptual clarification of the Aristotelian component in environmental virtue ethics (EVE). It demonstrates that throughout the last four decades, contributors to EVE have favored an Aristotelian foundation (though a Humean base also has been proposed), and it presents six theoretical challenges and two underexplored possibilities premised on such an Aristotelian foundation of EVE. These two possibilities concern: 1) Aristotle's notion of the city-state (polis), denoting not only a densely populated area, but also agricultural land outside the city-walls, implying agrarian virtues were implicit in the Aristotelian framework; this is valuable to modern agriculture, and the ways in which environmentally friendly virtues are integrated into food production and consumption. 2) Aristotle's understanding of well-being (eudaimonia) as existing not only at an individual level, but also at a collective level; the latter is relevant to the prospect of upscaling eudaimonia to a structural level, within the limits of an ecologically sustainable citizenship. Although Eugene Hargrove did not invent weak anthropocentrism, his version lacks adequate representation in several pedagogical and research venues in environmental ethics. In turn, weak anthropocentrism is one of the lesser-appreciated approaches when compared to areas such as ecocentrism. The author argues Hargrove's version remains highly applicable to several of today's ecological issues and advances in neighboring subfields, such as philosophy of technology, philosophy of food, and the emerging area of philosophy of the city. These points suggest weak anthropocentrism could require additional study to understand how it could enhance environmental thought and could benefit philosophy's future in classrooms and research explorations. Eugene Hargrove's impact on the field of environmental philosophy is hard to adequately convey. His service as an activist, educator, and the founder of the journal Environmental Ethics created the context in which the field thrived. His legacy also provides a strong foundation for environmental ethics and activism of the future. Today, environmental philosophy is expanding to include human-dominated environments, once thought to fall outside of the purview of the discipline. Work in these "blind spots" is imperative if we wish to improve sustainability and stem the ecological bleeding that marks the Anthropocene. Hargrove's theoretical work on "weak anthropocentric intrinsic value" opens a space for environmental ethics to better understand human-dominated environments. If Paul B. Thompson is right that the way we farm should be of utmost concern for environmentalists, then Hargrove's insights could help protect large swaths of land beyond parkland borders. It is intuitive to think that divine transcendence is incompatible with the sacredness of nature, especially when transcendence is combined with the idea that God alone is valuable. Divine transcendence seems to demote this‐worldly values in favor of union with God in a disembodied afterlife. Divine transcendence also seems to legitimize hierarchies, including male–female and human‐nature hierarchies. Divine immanence seems a better alternative. This set of intuitions about transcendence appears regularly in the field of Religion and Ecology, sometimes as an implicit backdrop rather than an explicit position. This backdrop needs to be thematized and evaluated. For those with ecological concerns, divine transcendence and divine immanence need not be mutually exclusive. Rather, divine transcendence (understood non‐contrastively) complements divine immanence and is compatible with both animist and polytheist cosmologies. Sustainable development has become crucial in various fields, including electrical engineering education. This study proposes a learning model incorporating sustainable development principles to better prepare prospective electrical engineering teachers in Indonesia. The model emphasizes interdisciplinary learning outcomes, cognitive mapping of sustainability concepts, and the integration of environmental ethics into the curriculum. The development of the model uses the ADDIE model and involves participants consisting of several potential users and experts. This explorative study contributes to developing methods using social media data and social network theory in tourism studies to unravel cultural ecosystem values. Focused on the case of an emblematic village for whale-watching activity, Húsavík, in Skjálfandi Bay, Iceland, this study explores the cultural ecosystem service values of individuals as expressed through social media (TripAdvisor and Instagram) related to the practice of whale-watching. The aim is to document the cultural ecosystem service values and environmental judgements which provide information that could be used in future marine planning efforts. For this, 650 TripAdvisor entries posted between 2019 and 2021 were analysed, together with 100 images posted on Instagram between 2021 and 2022. The Social Network Analysis enabled visualization of the interconnected hashtag networks underscoring human-nature interactions. Instead of environmental and conservation values, the results show that they relate to 'ocular consumption' and 'aesthetic consumption'. The lack of conservation values, cultural heritage values, or even spiritual values is likely a reflection of the Instagram and TripAdvisor platforms. Human beings occupy a prominent position in creation. They are positioned on the surface of the earth as "managers" who oversee, care for other creations, and exercise dominion over them. However, several human activities such as deforestation, desertification, unregulated application of chemicals on plants, and so on have led to the degrading state of the environment, leading to natural disasters like storms, erosion, global warming, and so on. The resultant effects of these unguarded activities have severe implications on the lives and health of humans. This paper examined how Christian educators can employ Christian Education to engage youths in securing the degrading environment from further damage and bringing it back to life. Secondary sources were used to collect data, and a descriptive approach was used to analyse the facts collected. The study gathered from the review of related literature that the Bible plays a crucial role in creating environmental ethical awareness in youths. Also, Christian Education can leverage agents of socialisation to instil environmental moral consciousness in youths through environmental advocacy campaigns, workshops, and discipleship programmes on environmental ethics awareness. In addition, special training on maintenance culture and environmental ethics advocacy among youths are essential assignments Christian educators can carry out by including such programmes in the church curriculum and through periodic public awareness. Therefore, this paper submitted that engaging youths in environmental ethics through Christian Education is viable for creating a sense of proper stewardship. Focusing on the issue of environmental protection, we conducted an empirical study testing the relationship between day‐to‐day organizational life and organizational behavior in a culture influenced by Confucianism. We first reviewed the major characteristics of organizational life in this cultural context, based on which we proposed a model focusing on the relationship between organizational life and firms' performance in environmental protection. We then conducted an empirical study using data from Chinese firms. Our findings suggested that in a developing society such as China, the more a firm's organizational life stresses the value of "being a noble man," the value of zhongyong, the family–state concept, and the higher the firm's dependency on resources from the government, the greater the likelihood that the firm will perform well in environmental protection. However, surprisingly, yin/yang balance in organizational life did not seem to improve firms' environmental performance. Environmental ethics highlights the values and principles involved in combating environmental problems such as pollution, species and habitat loss, and climate change. The main objective of this study is to provide an overview of environmental ethics-related academic studies to highlight the main aspects and future research trends. This study is based on various studies from the national and international specialized literature. The methodology used consists of a quantitative research through a bibliometric analysis as well as the analysis of several indicators relevant to the study. The sample analyzed consists of 981 academic articles published between 1975-2023. The results indicate a clear direction toward the expansion of the research field, especially among researchers from the economic and ecological fields.

Previous research has acknowledged that employees' Green Innovative Behavior (GIB) is a pivotal driver for organizations striving towards sustainable development. However, the comprehensive understanding of its antecedents and underlying mechanisms remains insufficient. In response, drawing upon the Affective Events Theory (AET), our investigation establishes a moderated sequential mediation model to delve into the psychological processes by which Corporate Environmental Ethics (CEE) stimulate employees' GIB. Derived from a cohort of 358 employees in the manufacturing sector, our findings indicate a positive influence of CEE on employees' GIB, with environmental passion and environmental commitment serving as sequential mediators in the relationship. Particularly noteworthy is that personal innovativeness weakens the positive impact of CEE on environmental passion, suggesting a certain degree of substitution between personal innovativeness and CEE regarding environmental passion. Furthermore, this moderating effect extends to the sequential stages of environmental passion and environmental commitment, exerting indirect influences on employees' GIB. Our study provides valuable insights into the relationship between CEE and employees' GIB from affective perspectives, while also offering empirical evidence to support organizations in driving employees' GIB. The connection between ecological responsibility and differing conceptions of Christian eschatology is widely observed. It is often assumed that the necessary response to Christian environmental inaction is affirmation of a strongly this-worldly vision of new creation (so, influentially, N. T. Wright). However, recent systematic theology has seen retrieval of elements of eschatology that foreground discontinuity and transcendence (e.g. Hans Boersma). Moreover, there are exegetical challenges to continuationist claims (e.g. Markus Bockmuehl and Edward Adams) and doctrinal reactions to 'eschatological naturalism' (Katherine Sonderegger and Michael Allen). Where does this leave the connection between ecological witness and the content of Christian hope? Doubtless, continuationist accounts have some salutary emphases, but on exegetical, doctrinal and moral grounds I seek to disentangle the assumed compact of particular construals of this-worldly continuity and ethical commitment. Finally, drawing on James Cone's meditations upon black spiritual traditions, I explore how discontinuous interpretations of the life to come themselves need not undermine responsible action. A great diversity of living beings and human values are invisible to the prevailing global culture, which associates the word biodiversity with large organisms such as trees and mammals. Paradoxically, most biodiversity is made up of small organisms that remain invisible to global society and are under-represented in philosophy, science, and education. To help resolve this "biocultural blindness" about biological and value diversity, in this article we present concepts and practices of field environmental philosophy. We focus on the activity "ecotourism with a hand-lens" to illustrate "conceptual lenses" that amplify the appreciation of biological and cultural diversity. This activity integrates philosophy, sciences, and arts to appreciate the beauty and relevance of small organisms and the multiplicity of languages, forms of knowledge, and values that different cultural traditions give to biodiversity. Falls are a major concern for people with Parkinson's disease (PwPD), but accurately assessing real-world fall risk beyond the clinic is challenging. Contemporary technologies could enable the capture of objective and high-resolution data to better inform fall risk through measurement of everyday factors (e.g., obstacles) that contribute to falls. Wearable inertial measurement units (IMUs) capture objective high-resolution walking/gait data in all environments but are limited by not providing absolute clarity on contextual information (i.e., obstacles) that could greatly influence how gait is interpreted. Video-based data could compliment IMU-based data for a comprehensive free-living fall risk assessment. The objective of this study was twofold. First, pilot work was conducted to propose a novel artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm for use with wearable video-based eye-tracking glasses to compliment IMU gait data in order to better inform free-living fall risk in PwPD. The suggested approach (based on a fine-tuned You Only Look Once version 8 (YOLOv8) object detection algorithm) can accurately detect and contextualize objects (mAP50 = 0.81) in the environment while also providing insights into where the PwPD is looking, which could better inform fall risk. Second, we investigated the perceptions of PwPD via a focus group discussion regarding the adoption of video technologies and AI during their everyday lives to better inform their own fall risk. This second aspect of the study is important as, traditionally, there may be clinical and patient apprehension due to ethical and privacy concerns on the use of wearable cameras to capture real-world video. Thematic content analysis was used to analyse transcripts and develop core themes and categories. Here, PwPD agreed on ergonomically designed wearable video-based glasses as an optimal mode of video data capture, ensuring discreteness and negating any public stigma on the use of research-style equipment. PwPD also emphasized the need for control in AI-assisted data processing to uphold privacy, which could overcome concerns with the adoption of video to better inform IMU-based gait and free-living fall risk. In a changing global environment, sustaining social work as a profession necessitates comprehensive education and heightened awareness of ecocentric perspectives and environmental ethics. Based on this information, the study aims to explore the relationship between social work students' environmental ethics awareness and their attitudes and behaviors regarding environmental issues. The study was conducted utilizing the general and relational survey model, a quantitative research methodology; the data collection was performed with an interview form consisting of the Personal Information Form, Environmental Ethics Awareness Scale, Attitude Toward Environmental Problems Scale, and Behavior Toward Environmental Problems Scale. The study comprised 461 students selected from 10 different universities offering undergraduate social work education in Türkiye, employing the purposive sampling technique. The data collected from the participants was analyzed using SPSS software. The study findings reveal that the environmental ethics awareness and attitudes of social work students toward environmental problems positively impact their behaviors regarding environmental problems. In this context, heightened environmental ethics awareness and positive attitudes toward environmental problems among students correlate with increased engagement in actions addressing environmental issues. These findings emphasize the need for future studies to assess the effectiveness of environmental education curricula and conduct evidence-based quasi-experimental group interventions. It explores the motivations behind greenwashing, which often stem from the pressure to appear environmentally responsible without incurring the costs associated with genuine sustainability. In the first decade of the twenty-first century, biofuels were recognized as an important element in the overall strategy to reduce climate-forcing greenhouse gases, especially carbon dioxide. Yet scientific research to more fully realize the potential of agricultural crops for liquid transportation fuel requires the coordination of many separate projects housed in different disciplines. Studies predicting and documenting adverse social impacts of plant-based ethanol and biodiesel led to the inclusion of social science components within research teams seeking to develop biofuels. A 2008 rise in global food prices became a centerpiece of this research, leading to a search for non-food crops that could serve as energy feedstocks. Although coordinated scientific research teams have made significant strides toward incorporating social dimensions and broader impacts into what was originally a purely biophysical research effort, a simplistic diagnosis of the tension between agricultural production for food use and agricultural production intended for energy production continues to prevail. Environmental pragmatism has faced numerous criticisms for relativism and crude instrumentalism as well as for sidestepping the fundamental concerns of environmental ethics. Recently, Andre Santos Campos and Sofia Guedes Vaz have proposed a new 'method' of environmental pragmatism, justificatory moral pluralism, with the aim of overcoming these criticisms. It is argued that this new approach is plagued by the traditional concerns. Instead, the pitfalls of pragmatism can be avoided by adopting the central insight of the classical pragmatists that values may be revised in light of experience in a process that resembles scientific inquiry. The resulting view may not be satisfying for those who expect pragmatism to live up to its periodic promise of immediate and concrete results. How can educators and students from settler backgrounds engage with and acknowledge the experiences and representation of transgenerational trauma among Indigenous peoples in educational environments, while remaining cognisant of the ethical and political implications? This challenge arises within the context of societal structures still influenced by colonial legacies, where systems of power are ingrained along lines of race, ethnicity, class, gender, disability, and sexuality. What would be some of the necessary conditions that educational environments would need to meet in order to ethically and politically respond to transgenerational traumatic encounters? This paper addresses these questions and suggests three conditions that educational environments would need to meet, when educators and students are invited to become witnesses of transgenerational trauma: decoloniality of time, rupture of developmentalism, and an ethic of non-innocence. The primary objective is to transition from an anthropocentric approach to an ecocentric approach, integrating the notion of ecosystem services (ES). Our article conducts an epistemological examination of the ES concept, scrutinizing its definition, the array of examples and services, the human role in the environment, monetization, and connections to environmental ethics. The analysis was conducted using a corpus comprising life and earth sciences curricula, textbooks, and online resources, which unveiled diverse examples and materials pertaining to ES. The article highlights the potential that African and Black Philosophy can contribute towards the debates on human dignity. It facilitates a three-way philosophical conversation among the Western, African, and Black conceptions of human dignity. It is motivated by the skepticism in the African and Black approaches to ethics that reject the view that some ontological capacity can ground intrinsic value, or human dignity. The article distinguishes the merit-based (the African and Black Philosophy) from the capacity-based approaches (the Western philosophy) to human dignity. In light of the comparisons among the three theories of human dignity, the article identifies three important lessons for moral-political philosophy. First, the Western conception of human dignity needs to explain and justify grounding of value on a descriptive feature. Secondly, the Black conception of dignity is a version of virtue-based account of it, which places a prime on resistance and struggle against domination. Finally, the capacity-based approach seems to have moral-theoretic advantages in dealing with issues in bioethics, environmental ethics, and political philosophy, which the African and Black conceptions of human dignity seems not to have. This article provides and reflects on an original lesson plan for engaging high school, undergraduate, or graduate students in learning fundamental concepts of environmental ethics. Implementation of this lesson plan effectively promoted critical analysis, reflection, and communication of environmental ethics issues in a seminar for second-year undergraduate students focused on theoretical frameworks and research methods in the field of sustainability. After reading background information about environmental ethics, students worked in small groups to answer questions about ethical issues related to the Dakota Access Pipeline in the midwestern United States. To further apply knowledge about ethics, students independently investigated a second environmental issue of their choosing, using news reports and scholarly publications to identify key ethical questions and interested parties affected by them, then wrote a position paper about how well principles of environmental ethics were upheld in their chosen scenario and how the application of ethics could be improved. In their work, students demonstrated adequate to exceptional ability to communicate knowledge of and apply relevant ethical principles, although the scope and depth of knowledge demonstrated varied. As bats adapt to anthropogenic environmental change they increasingly interact with humans and inhabit human infrastructure. This article addresses the challenge of learning to live with synanthropic bats. Building on ideas from multispecies studies, we explore the practices and accommodations that coproduce meaningful human-bat cohabitation in domestic space. Drawing on qualitative research conducted in the Netherlands, we find that domestic space is remade in small but significant ways in response to bats. The aim of our interviewees is to ensure minimal interference between human and bat domestic geographies: intimacy can be spatialized at the domestic scale but is best done in ways that maintain degrees of tolerance. Rather than help bats in general, much care-work centres around supporting the inter-generational reproductive work of bats.This sequential sense of ethical time certainly shifts conservation from a done to mode, and recasts home-dwellers as participants in the story of bat survival and intergenerational nourishment. The debate on Buddhist eco-ethics emerged in the late 20th century and continues to the present day, which fosters the intersection of Buddhist eco-ethics with environmental ethics. However, the current understanding of Buddhist eco-ethics still falls short of a holistic concept. To fill the gap, this paper argues that different macro perspectives should be considered in the process of developing a concept of holistic Buddhist eco-ethics. For this, we firstly attempt to clarify the dispute over the feasibility of Buddhist eco-ethics from the internal, external, and Buddhists' perspectives. Then, we address the dispute concerning the classification of Buddhist eco-ethics, proposing a typology that accommodates different perspectives. Finally, two methods are suggested to mediate the dispute over Buddhist eco-ethics and justify its holistic concept, that is, regarding Buddhist eco-ethics as a form of virtue ethics and as a product of "engaged Buddhism." Here, it is also emphasized to include Buddhists' perspectives when mediating the dispute. Accordingly, we put forward a holistic concept for Buddhist eco-ethics that incorporates three main macro perspectives: ecological ethics in Buddhism, Buddhism in ecological ethics, and Buddhists' environmental activities. This study asks which values hold significance for Indigenous environmental nonprofits in their collaborations with U.S. environmental design colleges in the fields of landscape architecture, architecture, and planning. To identify organizations, the IRS Exempt Organizations Business Master File (EO BMF), a complete listing of U.S. nonprofits, was filtered to show environmentally focused organizations. Using keyword searches within this filtered database and using grant-giving organizations' lists of Indigenous nonprofits and online queries, this study identified 303 U.S. Indigenous-led environmental nonprofits. Organizations were categorized by service area: Environmental Management, Cultural Education, Advocacy, or Traditional Indigenous Agriculture. Stratified sampling was used to select 101 nonprofits based on service area. Content analysis via NVivo was used to code one-sentence value-based phrases on nonprofits' online profiles. Two interviews with Covenant Pathways, a nonprofit with whom the author works, were also coded. Nonprofits expressed the values of humility, Indigenous identity, historical heritage, environmental ethics, confronting societal issues, and sovereignty. These results produce four recommendations for universities collaborating with Indigenous environmental organizations: (1) Embrace Indigenous Humility, (2) Honor Indigenous Identity, (3) Remember Indigenous History, and (4) Revere Nature. In case studies, sovereignty is discussed in a shared context with humility and confronting societal issues. Twelve case studies exemplify universities honoring these Indigenous values in studio work, service learning, and master's thesis collaborations. For example, partnering faculty required students to design within preexisting community masterplans, prohibited placemaking, and guided student researchers to design research methods with Indigenous partners. Based on eco-translatology, this paper explores how to effectively preserve the ecological balance of classical Chinese poetry during the English translation process. Classical Chinese poetry, as a vital component of Chinese culture, reflects Chinese ecological concepts and the spirit of unity between man and nature. Rooted in Chinese philosophy, ecotranslatology resonates with ecological wisdom embedded in poems, sharing core similarities. However, past studies have often focused on literary and cultural transmission while neglect the ecological wisdom and poets' perceptions of natural environments and ecological balance embedded in classical poetry. Therefore, from the ecological perspective, this study employs the core translation method of eco-translatology--three-dimensional transformation (linguistic, cultural and communicative dimensions), to analyze whether translators effectively convey elements such as unity between man and nature, natural philosophy, and ecological ethics. It aims to help readers understand the ecological thoughts of ancient poets and to focus on preserving the ecological balance of poetry during translation, thereby conveying its unique ecological values in another context. This paper calls for researchers to pay more attention to the inheritance and preservation of ecological wisdom when translating classical poetry and thus promotes the dissemination and sharing of ecological values in cross-cultural exchanges.
