O estudo testou, por meio de modelagem econométrica, se empresas do mercado de capitais do Brasil que contêm mais empregados desmotivados são as que obtêm um menor desempenho de mercado. O presente trabalho avança ao adotar a rotatividade de pessoas nas empresas (turnover) como proxy para a mensuração da (des)motivação dos funcionários. Em um contexto organizacional, há uma premissa geral de que funcionários mais motivados exercerão melhor desempenho e, pela lógica do contraditório, é possível assumir, também, que, quanto mais pessoas saem intencionalmente da empresa, mais desmotivadas estão. Para mensurar o desempenho da empresa, foi utilizado o retorno de mercado. Apesar de sofrer influências externas, percebe-se que a média da cotação das ações das empresas no mercado pode refletir e representar o desempenho de uma organização. Nesse sentido, os resultados empíricos esperados buscaram corroborar a hipótese de que a motivação dos funcionários tem um impacto positivo no desempenho corporativo e tem valor relevante refletido nos preços das ações, isto é, o mercado valoriza tal intangível. Uma vez que o coeficiente da variável “desmotivação” foi negativo e estatisticamente significativo, confirmou-se a hipótese central e, portanto, é possível afirmar que existe relação inversa entre o desempenho de mercado da empresa, medido pelo retorno das ações, e a desmotivação dos empregados.

The management of patients with dyslipidemia (DLP) requires intensive medical follow-up as an essential part of treatment and to reduce the risk of cardiovascular (CV) outcomes. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether adherence to medical treatment changed the prevalence of CV disease events in a retrospective 7-year follow-up analysis.This retrospective study involved 92 patients divided into two groups according to their adherence: the REG group with 64 patients who had medical appointments from 2012 to 2018, and the DROP group, with 28 patients who had medical appointments in 2012 but did not complete regular appointments until 2018. Cox proportional hazard models were fitted to estimate hazard ratios associated with CV outcomes as primary endpoints.We observed a total of 32 cases of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in the study population, 17 (338.41 pY) in the REG group and 15 (62.97 pY) in the DROP group. An increased hazard of AMIs was observed in the DROP group compared with the REG group by follow-up time (p 0.001). We found that previous events of AMI and congestive heart failure (CHF) were associated with progression to treatment dropout (p 0.05) and that two drugs were considered a risk factor for treatment dropout, diuretics and fibrates (p 0.05).A reduced hazard of AMI was observed in patients who complete a greater number of medical appointments and receive multidisciplinary treatment on a regular basis.

The construction industry has one of the highest occupational accident incidence rates among all economic sectors. Currently, building information modelling (BIM) appears to be a valuable tool for analysing occupational safety issues throughout the construction life cycle of projects, helping to avoid hazards and risks and, consequently, increasing safety. This work investigates BIM methodology and the application of related technologies for building safety planning and demonstrates the potential of this technology for the integrated implementation of safety measures during the design phase and construction site management. The first step consisted of a literature review on applying BIM-related technologies for safety in the design and planning phases. Following this, to show the potentialities of construction simulation, a case study based on BIM 4D to prevent falls from height was developed. With BIM 4D, it is possible to follow the construction process over time, giving the construction safety technicians, designers, supervisors and managers the capability to analyse, in each phase, the potential risks and identify which safety measures should be implemented. BIM can effectively integrate safety measures from the design phase to the construction and use phase and enable integrated safety planning within construction planning, leading to reliable safety management throughout the construction process.
