The majority of ixodid ticks display host-specificity to varying extents. Feeding on different hosts affects their development and reproduction. Consequences can be analyzed at the level of the egg, as it is the initial stage of tick development. Tick egg proteins are abundant and diverse, providing nutrients for embryonic development. However, studies on tick egg profiles are scarce. In this study, we aimed to analyze whether feeding Haemaphysalis qinghaiensis ticks on the yaks (Bos grunniens) and domestic sheep (Ovis aries) has an impact on the variety and variability of the egg proteome. Detached engorged females were used to lay eggs, which were then collected, dewaxed, and subjected to protein extraction. The extracted egg proteins were enzymatically digested using Filter-Aided Sample Preparation (FASP), and the unique peptides were separated and detected by Liquid Chromatography-tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC–MS/MS). The MS data were searched against the previously constructed whole tick transcriptome library of H. qinghaiensis, and the UniProt database for the identification of tick-derived egg proteins. The analysis revealed 49 and 53 high-confidence proteins identified in eggs collected from B. grunniens (EggBg) and O. aries (EggOa), respectively. Of these, 46 high-confidence proteins were common to both egg types, while three were unique to EggBg and seven to EggOa. All the identified proteins mainly belonged to enzymes, enzyme inhibitors, transporters, and proteins with unknown functions. The differential abundance analysis showed that nine proteins were significantly more present in EggBg, while six were significantly more present in EggOa. Overall, enzymes were the most diverse group, while vitellogenin (Vg) was the most abundant. Blood meal uptake on different hosts has a certain effect on the egg proteome composition and the abundance of some proteins, but it may also lead to compensation of protein roles. The promotion of urban mobility by integrating people-and-goods transportation has attracted increasing attention in recent years. Within this framework, diversified forms such as co-modality, freight on transit, and crowdshipping have been proposed, piloted or implemented. The success of the implementation and market penetration depends on not only the novelties of the concept but also the planning and operational efficiency. Thus, a comprehensive review focusing on the operation of integrated people-and-goods transportation systems and associated critical decisions and subproblems is performed. Different practical forms in which people and goods are transported in an integrated manner are identified. The critical decisions associated with each form and subproblem are discussed, along with corresponding models and solution approaches. Notably, because integrated transportation systems are in the early exploration stage at present, new forms are expected to emerge. Therefore, this paper proposes a general framework to realise the planning and operation of new forms in the future. The decisions and subproblems identified from existing forms are fed to the proposed general framework to identify two key research opportunities: to improve or extend existing research and to conduct pioneering research to fill the gaps in the frameworks for operating potential forms of integrated people-and-goods transportation. Herein, a novel fluorescent ionic covalent organic framework (BTTA–BDNP) based on a linked carbazole unit was constructed for the synchronous monitoring and capture of TcO4−/ReO4−. BTTA–BDNP has a fast fluorescence response time with a low detection limit (66.7 nM) for ReO4− (a non-radioactive substitute for TcO4−). Interleukin-27 is constitutively secreted by microglia in the retina or brain, and upregulation of IL-27 during neuroinflammation suppresses encephalomyelitis and autoimmune uveitis. However, while IL-35 is structurally and functionally similar to IL-27, the intrinsic roles of IL-35 in CNS tissues are unknown. Thus, we generated IL-35/YFP-knock-in reporter mice (p35-KI) and demonstrated that photoreceptor neurons constitutively secrete IL-35, which might protect the retina from persistent low-grade inflammation that can impair photoreceptor functions. Furthermore, the p35-KI mouse, which is hemizygous at the il12a locus, develops more severe uveitis because of reduced IL-35 expression. Interestingly, onset and exacerbation of uveitis in p35-KI mice caused by extravasation of proinflammatory Th1/Th17 lymphocytes into the retina were preceded by a dramatic decrease of IL-35, attributable to massive death of photoreceptor cells. Thus, while inflammation-induced death of photoreceptors and loss of protective effects of IL-35 exacerbated uveitis, our data also suggest that constitutive production of IL-35 in the retina might have housekeeping functions that promote sterilization immunity in the neuroretina and maintain ocular immune privilege. To discuss the optimal interval time between genetic algorithm-based ultrasound imaging-guided percutaneous drainage surgery (PTGD) and laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC), 64 cholecystitis patients were selected as the research objects and evenly divided into experimental group (intelligent algorithm was adopted to recognize patients' ultrasonic images) and control group (professional doctors carried out diagnosis). 92 acute cholecystitis patients undergoing PTGD were divided into three groups. 30 out of the 92 patients received LC within 2 months and were defined as the early group. 32 were performed with LC within 2 to 4 months and were defined as the metaphase group. 28 underwent LC over 4 months and were defined as the late-stage group. The average operation time, the transition from LC to laparotomy, the average postoperative hospital stay, and the incidence of complications of the three groups were compared. The results revealed that the comparison of the diagnostic accuracy and comprehensive effectiveness between experimental group and control group demonstrated that the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). When the optimal interval of implementing LC after PTGD was realized, the corresponding values of the early group were 88.5 minutes, 16.67%, 8.13 days, and 13.75%. Those of the metaphase group were 49.91 minutes, 3.13%, 4.97 days, and 9.52%. Those of the late stage group were 68.78 minutes, 10.71%, 7.09 days, and 11.96%. To sum up, the diagnostic accuracy and comprehensive effectiveness of intelligent algorithm were higher than those of conventional ultrasound, and the optimal interval time of implementing LC after PTGD was 2 to 4 months. Intelligent packaging with freshness indication capability can help consumers purchase fresh food. However, current research primarily focuses on carbon dioxide-sensitive intelligent packaging, with limited research on water vapor-sensitive indication packaging. In this study, the water vapor-sensitive indicator membrane was prepared and used to determine the freshness of mushrooms. The results of this study showed that the water permeability of the indicator membrane decreased from 33.17 % to 21.59 % with the increase of Polyethylene glycol-400(PEG-400) content in methylcellulose(MC) membrane, and the contact angle of the indicator membrane increased from 87 % to 98 % with the addition of PEG-400. The addition of plasticizer PEG-400 increased the hydrophobicity of the indicator film, which could be attributed to the improvement of the molecular arrangement and crystallinity of the indicator film by the addition of PEG-400. After encountering water, the transparency of the indicator membrane changes from completely opaque (white) to transparent. Addition of PEG-400 reduces the rate of change in the transparency of the indicator membrane. The indicator membrane was successfully used to indicate the freshness of mushrooms and effectively reflected the freshness of mushrooms during storage. With the development of peripheral nerve tissue engineering, study of biodegradable materials have extensive applied prospect. Chitosan (Cs) is a promising candidate for neural tissue engineering due to its similar chemical structure to glycosaminoglycan. However, due to its lack of elasticity and flexibility, Cs often needs to be used in combination with other materials. In this study, three composite scaffolds were prepared by freeze-drying method: Cs/hyaluronic acid (HA)/gelatin (Gel), Cs/collagen (Col), and Cs/polyethylene glycol (PEG). Mechanical properties, swelling behavior, porosity, and conductivity of these materials have been characterized. Compared with pure Cs, the addition of other materials reduced the average pore size, while improved the mechanical properties of the composite scaffold. Furthermore, 3-(4,5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT), live/dead staining, cell morphology, and immunofluorescence staining were performed to evaluate the cytotoxicity, biocompatibility, and differentiation of rat pheochromocytoma (PC12) cells on Cs/HA/Gel, Cs/Col, and Cs/PEG composite scaffolds. Our results indicated that all these Cs-based composite scaffolds had good biocompatibility without cytotoxicity, while Cs/PEG scaffolds possessed higher cell survival rate and could promote the adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation of PC12 cells. Grating interferometers that use large two-dimensional grating splice modules for performing wide-range measurements have significant advantages for identifying the position of the wafer stage. However, the manufacturing process of large two-dimensional grating splice modules is very difficult. In contrast to existing redundant designs in the grating line dimension, we propose a novel interferometric reading head with a redundant design for obtaining wide-range displacement measurements. This interferometric reading head uses a one-dimensional grating splice module, and it was observed to be compatible with two orthogonal gratings. We designed a grating interferometer system composed of four reading heads to achieve a wide range of measurements and verified it using ZEMAX simulation. By conducting experiments, we were able to verify the compatibility of the reading head with gratings possessing different grating line directions; the measurement noise was found to be less than 0.3 nm. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in indoor air are considered a major threat to human health and environmental safety. The development of applicable technologies for the removal of VOCs is urgently needed. Nowadays, photocatalytic oxidation (PCO) based on metal-containing photocatalysts has been regarded as a promising method. However, unmodified photocatalysts are generally limited in applications because of the narrow light response range and high recombination rate of photo-generated carriers. As a result, nano metal-containing photocatalysts doped with elements or other materials have attracted much attention from researchers and has developed over the past few decades. In addition, different doping types cause different levels of catalyst performance, and the mechanism for performance improving is also different. However, there are few reviews focusing on this aspect, which is really important for catalyst design and application. This work aims to give a comprehensive overview of nano metal-containing photocatalysts with different doping types for the removal of VOCs in an indoor environment. First, the undoped photocatalysts and the basic mechanism of PCO is introduced. Then, the application of metal doping, non-metal doping, co-doping, and other material doping in synthetic metal-containing photocatalysts are discussed and compared, respectively, and the synthesis methods, removal efficiency, and mechanisms are further investigated. Finally, a development trend for using nano metal-containing photocatalysts for the removal of VOCs in the future is proposed. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) which exist widely in indoor air, are confirmed to be harmful to human health. In this study, gaseous toluene, the representative VOCs, was degraded by photo-catalytic oxidation (PCO) under visible light. The Ag 3 PO 4 -g-C 3 N 4 composites with different weight ratios of Ag 3 PO 4 /g-C 3 N 4 were synthesized and used as the photo-catalysts. The results indicated that the Ag 3 PO 4 -g-C 3 N 4 composites with the weight ratio of 2.6 % exhibited the most superior photo-catalytic activity, and the removal efficiency of toluene was 87.52 % within 100 min irradiation, which was higher than that of bare g-C 3 N 4 and Ag 3 PO 4. The pseudo-one-order model was applied to analyzing the reaction process, and the apparent reaction rate constant of 2.6 %-APO-g-C 3 N 4 was 0.005 min−1. After 3 cycles, the removal efficiency was still higher than 80.72 %. According to the results of PLS and ESR, the combination of Ag 3 PO 4 and g-C 3 N 4 could improve photo-induced carrier separation as well as OH and O 2 − radicals were both detected. Furthermore, the Z-scheme mechanism of Ag 3 PO 4 -g-C 3 N 4 photo-catalysts was proposed. Therefore, the superior photo-catalytic activity of composites was significantly increased by the Z-scheme. Duodenal ulcer seriously affects the quality of life and life safety of children, but the pathogenesis of children with duodenal ulcer is still unclear. As an important second messenger in the body, Ca2+ participates in the physiological and pathological processes of various diseases. Therefore, transient receptor potential vanilloid type 4 (TRPV4) as one of the channels that mediate Ca2+ has attracted widespread attention in recent years. Here, we found that TRPV4 is highly expressed in children with duodenal ulcer and has good diagnostic value through specimens of children with duodenal ulcer, and animal experiments have proved that TRPV4 is also highly expressed in duodenal ulcer mice. In addition, TRPV4 can enhance intestinal permeability, thereby promoting further infiltration of inflammatory factors. In summary, these results indicate that TRPV4 is involved in the occurrence and development of duodenal ulcer. Regulatory B cells (Breg cells) that secrete IL-10 or IL-35 (i35-Breg) play key roles in regulating immunity in tumor microenvironment or during autoimmune and infectious diseases. Thus, loss of Breg function is implicated in development of autoimmune diseases while aberrant elevation of Breg prevents sterilizing immunity, exacerbates infectious diseases, and promotes cancer metastasis. Breg cells identified thus far are largely antigen-specific and derive mainly from B2-lymphocyte lineage. Here, we describe an innatelike IL-27-producing natural regulatory B-1a cell (i27-Breg) in peritoneal cavity and human umbilical cord blood. i27-Bregs accumulate in CNS and lymphoid tissues during neuroinflammation and confers protection against CNS autoimmune disease. i27-Breg immunotherapy ameliorated encephalomyelitis and uveitis through up-regulation of inhibitory receptors (Lag3, PD-1), suppression of Th17/Th1 responses, and propagating inhibitory signals that convert conventional B cells to regulatory lymphocytes that secrete IL-10 and/or IL-35 in eye, brain, or spinal cord. Furthermore, i27-Breg proliferates in vivo and sustains IL-27 secretion in CNS and lymphoid tissues, a therapeutic advantage over administering biologics (IL-10, IL-35) that are rapidly cleared in vivo. Mutant mice lacking irf4 in B cells exhibit exaggerated increase of i27-Bregs with few i35-Bregs, while mice with loss of irf8 in B cells have abundance of i35-Bregs but defective in generating i27- Bregs, identifying IRF8/BATF and IRF4/BATF axis in skewing B cell differentiation toward i27-Breg and i35-Breg developmental programs, respectively. Consistent with its developmental origin, disease suppression by innate i27-Bregs is neither antigen-specific nor disease-specific, suggesting that i27-Breg would be effective immunotherapy for a wide spectrum of autoimmune diseases. Efficient removal of UO 2 2+ from radioactive wastewater under strong acid conditions remains a significant challenge due to the competition of excess H+ for adsorption and reduction sites. Here, covalent organic framework with complete charge separation and protonation properties (DANT-BTT) was synthesized for efficient removal of UO 2 2+ under strong acids. The DANT-BTT with strong electron-deficient naphthalimide significantly extended light absorption and enhanced intramolecular charge transfer, which significantly improve the separation efficiency of electrons and holes. Additionally, the auxiliary coordination of hydroxyl groups after protonation provides unparalleled selectivity for UO 2 2+ in strong acids, effectively preventing the competition of H+ for adsorption sites. Protonation of nitrogen atoms and ketones also extends light absorption and store electrons, further enhancing the photocatalytic performance of DANT-BTT. Consequently, DANT-BTT can achieve 71 % photoreduction UO 2 2+ efficiency (pH 1) after 60 min irradiation, where dark adsorption accounts for 43 %. Exploration of new electron‐withdrawing building blocks plays a key role in the development of n‐type organic semiconductors. Herein, a strong electron‐withdrawing building block, dipyridyl‐fused quinoxalineimide (DPQI), was successfully designed and synthesized. Single‐crystal structure reveals that DPQI molecule possesses a completely planar backbone, which is beneficial for charge transport. For comparison, dibenzo‐fused quinoxalineimide (DBQI) was also synthesized. The frontier molecular orbital (FMO) energy levels downshift with the incorporation of nitrogen atoms onto the π‐conjugated backbone of quinoxalineimide. Two acceptor‐acceptor (or all‐acceptor) polymers P(BTI‐DBQI) and P(BTI‐DPQI) based on DBQI and DPQI were synthesized, respectively. Two polymers exhibit deep lowest‐unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) levels (~−3.5 eV). Additionally, P(BTI‐DPQI) exhibits unipolar n‐type charge transport with μe of 1.4×10−4 cm2 V−1 s−1 in the organic field‐effect transistors (OFET), which render them highly attractive for developing n‐type semiconductors device. Background: Striae Distensae (SD) is a common dermatological lesion. The mechanism of formation is unclear, the prevailing theory is mechanical pulling of the skin and hormonal changes. Traditional SD treatment methods include topical drugs, photoelectric therapy, stripping and others, but each has limitations. Stromal vascular fraction gel (SVF‐gel) is a filler physically prepared from granular fat, enriched with adipose‐derived stem cells (ADSCs) and extracellular matrix (ECM). A good effect in the treatment of neck lines, wounds, acne, and other aspects. SD formation and treatment goals are comparable to those of neck lines. In this study, SVF‐gel filling will be used to treat mature SD, and its effectiveness and safety will be discussed in detail. Methods: From December 2019 to June 2022, recruit patients who want to treat SD caused by obesity or pregnancy among those who have "autologous fat aspiration" to change their body shape. Preoperatively, the area to be treated for SD was marked, autologous fat aspiration was performed, and the aspirated fat was prepared as SVF‐gel and filled into the preoperatively marked SD. All patients had preoperative and postoperative follow‐up with planar photographs and VISIA skin analyzer photographs to assess surgical results and safety from subjective and objective perspectives. Results: A total of 36 patients were enrolled, with 31 of them successfully followed up on. The mean Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (GAIS) score six months after surgery was 1.87 ± 0.03. At six months postoperatively, the overall patient satisfaction rate was 90%. The depth, area, and color of SD improved six months after surgery, and no serious complications occurred in any of the patients. Removal of 99TcO 4 − from the nuclear fuel cycle remains a great challenge due to the harsh environment such as strong acid/alkali. Here, a methyl-rich cationic polymer network (TBT-TCB) was obtained by molecular engineering and used for 99TcO 4 − removal in extreme environments. The bulk methyl groups in the vicinity of imidazole units greatly enhance the base-resistance of TBT-TCB owing to the steric hindrance and electronic effects, which avoid OH− induced imidazole ring-opening reactions, resulting in a ReO 4 − (a surrogate of 99TcO 4 −) removal efficiency of 85% under 1 M NaOH. Meanwhile, the introduction of methyl groups into TBT-TCB enhances its hydrophobicity, resulting in improved affinity for the larger and less hydrophilic 99TcO 4 −. Consequently, TBT-TCB exhibits high removal efficiency even in the presence of strong competing ions, achieving a remarkable 84% removal rate in 1 M H 2 SO 4. More importantly, TBT-TCB shows excellent robustness and reusability (>5 cycles), high absorption selectivity, and rapid adsorption kinetics for 99TcO 4 −/ReO 4 −. Furthermore, chromatographic column experiments with TBT-TCB have shown thei r great potential for industrial applications. With the increasing concerns about traffic congestion and climate change, much effort has been made to enhance sustainable urban mobility for passengers and goods. One emerging promising strategy is to transport passengers and goods in an integrated manner, as it could reduce the number of vehicles on the road compared with the separate transportation of passengers and goods. This study proposes the simultaneous transportation of passengers and goods using demand-responsive buses and drones. Compared with the prevalent strategies that rely only on ground vehicles to integrate passenger and parcel transportation, we propose the joint usage of ground vehicles and drones to transport passengers and deliver parcels. The ground vehicles for passenger and parcel delivery are on-demand buses, which combine the advantages of the flexibility of taxis and the large capacity of public transport modes. The drones automatically take off from and land on the on-demand buses' rooftops and are only for parcel delivery. A new optimization problem that designs the routes for both demand-responsive buses and drones is proposed and denoted as the passenger and parcel share-a-ride problem with drones (SARP-D). A mixed-integer nonlinear programming model is devised; the nonlinearity exists because drone launch/recovery can occur simultaneously with request servicing by a bus at the same node. To solve the model for large-scale instances, we develop an adaptive large neighborhood search metaheuristic. Numerical experiments are conducted to validate the correctness of the model and evaluate the efficiency of the metaheuristic. Moreover, sensitivity analyses are performed to explore the influences of the maximum number of intermediate stops during one passenger request service, the drone flight endurance, and the unit delay penalty on the total cost, which comprises the transportation and delay costs. Herein, we propose an effective and green strategy for the deep removal of trace Cd2+ from water by dispersed loading of nanoscale zero-valent iron (nZVI) onto bacterial cellulose membranes (BCM). BCM-nZVI can effectively remove Cd2+ from water in a wide pH range (5–8) with 99.96% removal rate. Freundlich isotherm model and the pseudo-second-order model reveal the adsorption process with a maximum adsorption capacity of 134.0 mg·g−1 at 30 °C. Impressively, the Cd2+ concentration in actual Cd2+ containing drinking water is below the target of 5 μg·L−1 (drinking water standard in China, USA and EU) after treated by the BCM-nZVI, and no additional pollutants are introduced. The excellent stability (stored stably for 120 days) and economic cost analysis ($75.6 m−3 for Cd2+ containing drinking water) of BCM-nZVI indicated they are viable for practical application in actual water treatment. Most importantly, the reduction reaction and mechanism study of BCM-nZVI revealed that the toxic Cd2+ is converted into non-toxic Cd0 assisted by the hydrated electrons and it has been systemically verified in our paper. This work sheds light on BCM-nZVI can be used as an ideal green material to removal Cd2+ in trace amounts of actual drinking water with high-efficiency, economical, environmentally friendly and has great potential for application in real environments. Tick saliva is a reservoir of bioactive proteins. Saliva protein compositions change dynamically during blood-feeding. Decipherment of protein profiles in different blood-feeding stages may bring deeper insight into tick feeding physiology and provide targets for immunologic control alternatives. However, having the infancy of tick genome sequencing, assembly, annotation, and limited knowledge of tick salivary proteins restrain the data interpretation. Here, we aimed to depict the saliva protein profile in partially- (PE) and fully-engorged (FE) Haemaphysalis flava ticks, with a special focus on the analysis of those uncharacterized proteins. Saliva was collected from PE and FE adult female H. flava ticks. Saliva proteins were analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC/MS-MS). MS data were searched against an in-house salivary gland transcriptome library for identification of tick-derived proteins. Abundances of proteins were compared between PE and FE ticks. The uncharacterized proteins detected in saliva were further bioinformatically analyzed. In total, 614 proteins were identified including 94 host proteins and 520 tick-derived proteins. The 226 tick-derived high-confidence proteins were classified into 10 categories: transporters, enzymes, protease inhibitors, immunity-related proteins, lipocalins, glycine-rich proteins, muscle proteins, secreted proteins, uncharacterized proteins and others. A total of 98 proteins were shared in both PE and FE with 74 only in PE and 54 only in FE. Abundances of 24 shared proteins were significantly higher in PE. The profile of top 15 most abundant proteins was also different between PE and FE ticks. The 65 uncharacterized proteins detected in tick saliva were branched into subclusters 1 A, 1B, 2, 3 A, 3B and 3 C based on particular motifs like RGD, LRR, indicating their diverse predicted functions like anti-coagulation, regulation of innate immune, or other functions. This study provides and compares saliva proteomes of H. flava ticks in two feeding stages with special cluster analysis on the uncharacterized proteins. CAs (carbon aerogels) are potential novel adsorbents for Cr(VI). However, their tradition preparation method presents a series of problems such as the tedious processes and the limited scaling up production caused by extreme conditions. Improved preparation methods are tried to explore so that supercritical process could be avoided. While the explanation of the adsorption behavior and mechanism remain incomplete in the presence of polyanions. In this paper, a series of sodium alginate/chitosan composite (SA/CTS) carbon aerogels with or without nZVI (nano zero-valent iron) doped are intentionally designed, which were prepared without supercritical process and expected to a significant improvement in Cr(VI) removal in wastewater while facilitating preparation and separation. The adsorption performance of carbon aerogels for Cr(VI) were investigated as functions of pH, adsorbent dosage and adsorption temperature. Following the study of adsorption behavior of Cr(VI) in the coexistence of polyanions, this work presented a detailed rationale for the different competing anions having different effects on Cr(VI) sorption. Four isotherms and three kinetic models were used to explain the adsorption behaviors. The maximum adsorption capacities of CTS900 and nZVI@CTS900 were estimated to be 183.85 mg/g and 204.35 mg/g at 35 °C using the Sips model, respectively, which showed favorable performance over carbon aerogel materials that have been reported so far. Besides the study of factors influencing adsorption, the mechanism of Cr(VI) sorption mainly involved electrostatic interactions, hydrogen bonding attraction, and redox reactions were demonstrated through the multi characteristic analysis. As a result, prepared CTSs and nZVI@CTSs perform acceptable application prospects in Cr(VI)-containing water and wastewater. It has been considered challenging to develop ideal adsorbents for efficient and lower adsorption time uranium extraction, especially 3D covalent organic frameworks with interpenetrating topologies and tunable porous structures. Here, a "soft" three-dimensional (3D) covalent organic framework (TAM-DHBD) with a fivefold interpenetrating structure is prepared as a novel porous platform for the efficient extraction of radioactive uranium. The resultant TAM-DHBD appears exceptional crystallinity, prominent porosity and excellent chemical stability. Based on the strong mutual coordination between phenolic-hydroxyl/imine-N on the main chain and uranium, TAM-DHBD can effectively avert the competition of other ions, showing high selectivity for uranium extraction. Impressively, the 3D ultra-hydrophilic transport channels and multi-directional uniform pore structure of TAM-DHBD lay the foundation for the ultra-high-speed diffusion of uranium (the adsorption equilibrium can be reached within 60 min under a high-concentration environment). Furthermore, the utilization of lightweight structure not only increases the adsorption site density, but renders the adsorption process flexible, achieving a breakthrough adsorption capacity of 1263.8 mg g-1. Transient sensor malfunction, improper replacement measures, and large non‐Gaussian noise can cause data outliers in real‐world scenarios. In this article, an outlier‐robust zonotope set‐membership filter is proposed for uncertain nonlinear systems susceptible to outliers. In order to linearize nonlinear systems, a linearization method based on Stirling's interpolation formula is proposed. Then, an outlier detector utilizing the linearization error bounds, the prediction domain, and the output feasible domain is constructed. Based on the linearized system, a tight strip construction method is given to reduce the conservatism of the estimated enclosure. Moreover, a prediction‐correction‐backward reconstruction filter structure is designed to improve estimation accuracy and reduce conservatism. The proposed structure fuses historical data to attenuate the impact of uncertainty on the system. The robustness, guarantee, and convergence of the proposed filter are investigated. A novel breast ultrasound tomography system based on a circular array of capacitive micromechanical ultrasound transducers (CMUT) has broad application prospects. However, the images produced by this system are not suitable as input for the training phase of the super-resolution (SR) reconstruction algorithm. To solve the problem, this paper proposes an improved medical image super-resolution (MeSR) method based on the sparse domain. First, we use the simultaneous algebraic reconstruction technique (SART) with high imaging accuracy to reconstruct the image into a training image in a sparse domain model. Secondly, we denoise and enhance the contrast of the SART images to obtain improved detail images before training the dictionary. Then, we use the original detail image as the guide image to further process the improved detail image. Therefore, a high-precision dictionary was obtained during the testing phase and applied to filtered back projection SR reconstruction. We compared the proposed algorithm with previously reported algorithms in the Shepp Logan model and the model based on the CMUT background. The results showed significant improvements in peak signal-to-noise ratio, entropy, and average gradient compared to previously reported algorithms. The experimental results demonstrated that the proposed MeSR method can use noisy reconstructed images as input for the training phase of the SR algorithm and produce excellent visual effects. Tunable terahertz (THz) absorber is a hot research topic in recent years. However, absorption peak number control is rarely studied. A multi-band THz absorber based on a horizontal array of vertically offset graphene nanoribbon pairs is proposed and numerically investigated. By asymmetrically widening the lower layer graphene nanoribbons, two new absorption peaks are added due to the effective excitations of even-mode lateral Fabry-Perot resonances. The efficient removal of hexavalent chromium from solution is a challenging task, in this paper, the nZVI and nitrogen co-doped magnetic carbon aerogel microsphere composites (nZVI@NCAs) were prepared via the microemulsion polymerization and subsequent carbonization process, and were expected to satisfactory performance in the removal of Cr(VI). From batch experiments, the Cr(VI) removal process by nZVI@NCA900 fitted better with the pseudo-second-order model. The optimal nZVI@NCA900 was superior to that of most magnetic carbon-substrate composites, displaying high Cr(VI) adsorption capacity of 266.79 mg·g−1 at 318 K. Additionally, it was found that Cr(VI) was reduced to the low-toxicity Cr(III) from the results analyzed by XPS, and nZVI@NCA900 exhibited Cr(VI) reduction performance of 33.92% Cr(VI) reduced to Cr(III). The reaction between the nZVI@NCAs and Cr(VI) was pH-dependence, endothermic and spontaneous. Removal mechanisms might involve multiple processes. The nZVI particles on the surface acted as reductants to reduce Cr(VI) to Cr(III) and form Cr(III)/Fe(III) hydroxides to precipitate on nZVI@NCAs. Simulation results by DFT prove that N is an active site and show positive effect in the adsorption system. N atoms were used as active sites to stabilize the interaction with Cr(VI) via adsorption attributed to electrostatic and act as electron donors for reduction of Cr(VI). The nZVI particles encapsulated by carbon aerogels could provide magnetic stability after acid reaction, which was beneficial to the separation of adsorbents after reaction and reuse for many cycles. Uranium is a key element in the nuclear industry and also a global environmental contaminant with combined highly toxic and radioactive. Currently, the materials based on post-modification of amidoxime have been developed for uranium detection and adsorption. However, the affinity of amidoxime group for vanadium is stronger than that of uranium, which is the main challenge hindering the practical application of amidoxime-based adsorbents. Herein, we synthesized a fluorescent covalent organic framework (TFPPy-BDOH) through integrating biphenyl diamine and pyrene unit into the π-conjugated framework. TFPPy-BDOH has an excellent selectivity to uranium due to the synergistic effect of nitrogen atom in the imine bond and hydroxyl groups in conjugated framework. It can achieve ultra-fast fluorescence response time (2 s) and ultra-low detection limit (8.8 nM), which may be attributed to its intrinsic regular porous channel structures and excellent hydrophilicity. More excitingly, TFPPy-BDOH can chemically reduce soluble U (VI) to insoluble U (IV), and release the binding site to adsorb additional U (VI), achieving high adsorption capacity of 982.6 ± 49.1 mg g−1. Therefore, TFPPy-BDOH can overcome the challenges faced by current amidoxime-based adsorbents, making it as a potential adsorbent in practical applications. The interactions between calf thymus DNA and a series of glucose-based cationic gemini surfactants 1a - 1c with different spacer length, n = 4, 6 and 8, were studied by UV absorption, fluorescence spectroscopy, circular dichroism, FT-IR, dynamic light scattering and zeta potential measurements. The results showed that all the surfactants could interact with DNA efficiently. On addition of increasing concentration of the surfactants, UV absorption hypochromicity with insignificant blue shift were observed, until the DNA signal disappeared. The surfactant 1c was more efficient in the reduction of absorption intensity of DNA. According to the fluorescence quenching experiments by ethidium bromide exclusion, 1c exhibited the highest binding properties, with the binding constant at 3.25 × 108 L·mol−1. The spectroscopy study indicated that the surfactants bound with the DNA by a non-intercalative mode, mainly electrostatic interaction between the positively charged headgroups of the surfactants and negatively charged phosphate groups of DNA at low concentration, and the hydrophobic interaction among the alkyl chains at high concentration. The conformation of DNA during the interaction process could be kept B-form of DNA. For 1c , the DNA molecules can be compacted to about 103 nm in hydrodynamic diameter at 0.2 mM, while the minimum sizes of DNA were 140 nm and 133 nm, respectively, in the presence of 1a and 1b. We proposed a strategy to synergistically enhance uranium capture capacity through photothermal desalination, and prepared a COF hydrogel (KTG) through a simple process for the first time. KTG with ideal broadband light absorption capacity could be used as an outstanding photothermal conversion material. Meanwhile, the built-in elastic honeycomb structure endowed the KTG with good mechanical properties and adequate water transport performance that accelerated the diffusion and mass transfer ability of uranyl. Under a simulated sunlight, the adsorption capacity, selectivity, adsorption rate and cycle capacity of uranium could be significantly improved. Under light irradiation, the KTG produces a local heat that can be used to generate steam while promoting the rapid diffusion of uranium inside the hydrogel 3D network, thereby increasing the adsorption efficiency and capacity of uranium. KTG can achieve exceptional uranium capture capacity (521.6 mg g−1) under one sun irradiation, which is 42.4% higher than that under dark conditions. In this work, a kind of ethylene glycol-based deep eutectic solvent (DES) is explored as electrolyte of an iron-vanadium redox flow battery and the effect of the applied magnetic field is studied, including the physical and electrochemical characteristics of positive and negative DES electrolytes, as well as the performance of DES redox flow battery with/without magnetic field. The experimental results show that after adding a magnetic field, the viscosity of the DES electrolytes decreases, while the conductivity increases. As the intensity of the added magnetic field becomes larger, both the oxidation and the reduction peak current densities of the positive and negative DES electrolytes increase. With a magnetic field of 605 mT, the oxidation peak current density increment is up to 41.56%, and the reduction peak increases up to 30.74%. The exertion of magnetic field also leads to increased limiting current and power density, improved energy efficiency, and extended battery operating time of the iron-vanadium DES-electrolyte redox flow battery. Iterative learning control (ILC) enables high performance for motion systems executing repetitive tasks. The robustness filter of ILC enhances the robustness w.r.t. model uncertainties and disturbances, but results in that the repetitive error cannot be eliminated. In this article, a dual-loop ILC (DILC) approach is proposed for precision motion systems to explicitly address the design tradeoff of standard ILC between robustness and tracking performance. In the proposed DILC approach, the standard ILC is paralleled with an additional feedforward signal. When ILC converges, the additional feedforward signal is updated by the converged total feedforward signal, and then, the ILC begins a new iteration. As a result, the nonzero asymptotic error caused by the robustness filter is eliminated by adding an iterative action over the feedforward signal onto ILC. Comparative simulation and experimental results confirm that, compared to ILC, the proposed DILC can significantly enhance the tracking performance without the sacrifice of robustness w.r.t. model uncertainties and disturbances. Application to an ultraprecision wafer stage illustrates that the proposed DILC decreases the peak values of moving average and moving standard deviation of the tracking error by 52.7% and 43.9%, respectively. Immunosenescence contributes to systematic aging and plays a role in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Therefore, the objective of this study was to investigate the potential of immune rejuvenation as a therapeutic strategy for AD. To achieve this, the immune systems of aged APP/PS1 mice were rejuvenated through young bone marrow transplantation (BMT). Single-cell RNA sequencing revealed that young BMT restored the expression of aging-and AD-related genes in multiple cell types within blood immune cells. The level of circulating senescence-associated secretory phenotype proteins was decreased following young BMT. Notably, young BMT resulted in a significant reduction in cerebral Aß plaque burden, neuronal degeneration, neuroinflammation, and improvement of behavioral deficits in aged APP/PS1 mice. The ameliorated cerebral amyloidosis was associated with an enhanced Aß clearance of peripheral monocytes. Background: A previous study demonstrated that nearly 40%–60% of brain Aβ flows out into the peripheral system for clearance. However, where and how circulating Aβ is cleared in the periphery remains unclear. The spleen acts as a blood filter and an immune organ. The aim of the present study was to investigate the role of the spleen in the clearance of Aβ in the periphery. Methods: We investigated the physiological clearance of Aβ by the spleen and established a mouse model of AD and spleen excision by removing the spleens of APP/PS1 mice to investigate the effect of splenectomy on AD mice. Results: We found that Aβ levels in the splenic artery were higher than those in the splenic vein, suggesting that circulating Aβ is cleared when blood flows through the spleen. Next, we found that splenic monocytes/macrophages could take up Aβ directly in vivo and in vitro. Splenectomy aggravated behaviour deficits, brain Aβ burden and AD‐related pathologies in AD mice. Conclusion: Our study reveals for the first time that the spleen exerts a physiological function of clearing circulating Aβ in the periphery. The repair of cartilage injuries and defects in the knee presents a significant challenge in the field of human joint surgery. A promising solution involves the synergy of three-dimensional printing and articular cartilage tissue engineering. This research primarily focuses on the formulation of composite hydrogels comprising gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA), silk fibroin (SF) and hydroxyapatites (Haps), with a thorough examination of their morphology and mechanical properties. We also conducted tests on stacking height and grid area to assess the 3D printability of GM/SF/Haps inks. To evaluate the suitability of GM/SF/Haps scaffolds in cartilage regeneration, we performed 2D culture with mouse chondrocytes (ATDC5) inoculated on hydrogel surface and 3D culture with ATDC5 mixed in printing scaffolds. The assessment involved various techniques, such as Live/Dead staining, Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) assay, immunofluorescence staining and cytoskeleton staining. The outcomes of this investigation revealed that the inclusion of Haps significantly enhanced cell viability, cell proliferation and the differentiation of chondrocytes within the composite scaffolds. E0703, a new steroidal compound optimized from estradiol, significantly increased cell proliferation and the survival rate of KM mice and beagles after ionizing radiation. In this study, we characterize its preclinical pharmacokinetics (PK) and predict its human PK using a physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model. The preclinical PK of E0703 was studied in mice and Rhesus monkeys. Asian human clearance (CL) values for E0703 were predicted from various allometric methods. The human PK profiles of E0703 (30 mg) were predicted by the PBPK model in Gastro Plus software 9.8 (SimulationsPlus, Lancaster, CA, USA). Furthermore, tissue distribution and the human PK profiles of different administration dosages and forms were predicted. The 0.002 L/h of CL and 0.005 L of Vss in mice were calculated and optimized from observed PK data. The plasma exposure of E0703 was availably predicted by the CL using the simple allometry (SA) method. The plasma concentration–time profiles of other dosages (20 and 40 mg) and two oral administrations (30 mg) were well-fitted to the observed values. In addition, the PK profile of target organs for E0703 exhibited a higher peak concentration (Cmax) and AUC than plasma. The developed E0703-PBPK model, which is precisely applicable to multiple species, benefits from further clinical development to predict PK in humans. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study investigates the structure, microstructure, and transport properties of off-stoichiometric GeTe (off-GeTe). In a narrow range of 50–53 at% Te, both the rhombohedral a -GeTe and orthorhombic g -GeTe phases coexist. Despite their similar chemical composition, GeTe and off-GeTe alloys exhibit distinct microstructural and thermal/electronic properties. Theoretical density functional theory (DFT) calculations were employed to verify that changes in the Ge/Te ratios influence the concentration of Ge vacancies, leading to a significant alteration in transport properties despite minor variations in chemical compositions. The off-GeTe alloy, which is free of Ge precipitates, displays defective domain boundaries, showcasing a non-typical herringbone nanostructure that is unprecedented for GeTe-based materials. Notably, the phase transition temperature of off-GeTe, at 620K, differs from its peak zT temperature of 698K. Moreover, a TE device incorporating off-GeTe demonstrates superior interfacial stability and higher energy conversion efficiency compared to its stoichiometric GeTe counterpart. Consequently, off-GeTe demonstrates superior TE performance and enhanced interfacial stability compared to stoichiometric GeTe. In this paper, we focused on the influence of common serum cations on monosodium urate monohydrate (MSUM) crystal nucleation determined from cumulative probability distributions (CPDs) of solute crystal nucleation events as a function of time. Surprisingly, with an increase in the concentration of additive ions, striking "opposite effects" were observed for cations, enhancing nucleation at first followed by suppressing nucleation at physiological pH and ionic strength. This enhancing nucleation phenomenon cannot be explained based on colloidal theories or simple descriptors, such as ion size, but it is consistent with the cationic efficacy for inducing an increase in the proportion of growth units of MSUM. Washing and blanching are two important steps for the processing of fresh good grade small shiitake into casual snacks and prepared foods. This study explored their effects on the dimensions, weights, proximate compositions, taste and bioactive compounds of the shiitake caps and stipes. Results showed that the dimensions and weights of the caps and stipes increased after washing but decreased after blanching. On a dry basis, washing did not affect the nutrients and bioactive compounds contents of shiitake except sugars and polyols compared to fresh samples. However, blanching greatly reduced all the quality contents of the shiitake. The major minerals in the caps and stipes were potassium, magnesium and calcium. The main polyol, sugar, free amino acid, and 5'-nucleotide of shiitake were mannitol, trehalose, glutamine and 5'-adenosine monophosphate, respectively. Equivalent umami concentration (EUC) in the caps was three-fold higher than that in the stipes. Ergosterol, ergothioneine, γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA), and total phenols contents in the caps were significantly higher than those of the stipes, but the polysaccharides showed the reversed. Overall, both caps and stipes contain the necessary nutrients and bioactive compounds, and the blanching significantly affected the above-mentioned components of all tested samples. Membrane technology plays a critical role in solving worldwide water scarcity and security issues. However, membrane aging causes deterioration or complete failure of membrane performance. In this work, polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membrane aging induced by ultraviolet (UV) and NaOCl were investigated and compared. The skin layer was completely destroyed in 2d by UV irradiation under a dry state, which further caused deformation in the sublayer and pore shrinkage. The water layer on the membrane surface protected the skin layer from damage by UV till 8d under the wet state. NaOCl had a moderate influence, the flux was firstly decreased as the hydrophobicity of the membrane increased, and then increased due to pore enlargement. Membrane aging also resulted in a lower virus rejection, which highlighted the biosafety concern in membrane-based wastewater treatment. Infrared and two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy confirmed that the hydrophilic additive was first oxidated in both processes. β-PVDF segment changed before α-PVDF under UV, during which the C C bond was formed by the dehydrofluorination reaction. But the α-PVDF segment was attacked firstly by NaOCl, the radical reaction occurred both at CH 2 -CF 2 and CH=CF segments. This work studied two aging patterns in the membrane lifecycle and demonstrated the aging mechanism, which shed light on membrane development and maintenance in the future. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is an age‐related neurodegenerative disorder characterized by amyloid‐β (Aβ) deposition and neurofibrillary tangles. Although the NAD+‐dependent deacetylases SIRT1 and SIRT2 play pivotal roles in age‐related diseases, their cooperative effects in AD have not yet been elucidated. Here, we report that the SIRT2:SIRT1 ratio is elevated in the brains of aging mice and in the AD mouse models. In HT22 mouse hippocampal neuronal cells, Aβ challenge correlates with decreased SIRT1 expression, while SIRT2 expression is increased. Overexpression of SIRT1 prevents Aβ‐induced neurotoxicity. We find that SIRT1 impedes SIRT2‐mediated APP deacetylation by inhibiting the binding of SIRT2 to APP. Deletion of SIRT1 reduces APP recycling back to the cell surface and promotes APP transiting toward the endosome, thus contributing to the amyloidogenic processing of APP. Our findings define a mechanism for neuroprotection by SIRT1 through suppression of SIRT2 deacetylation, and provide a promising avenue for therapeutic intervention of AD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP) is a chemical softener and plasticizer commonly used in toys, food packaging, wallpaper, detergents and shampoos. The estrogenic actions of BBP have detrimental effects on humans and animals. In this study, the specific influence of BBP on mouse oocyte maturation was investigated using in vivo and in vitro models. The experiment first verified that BBP exposure significantly affected the rate of oocyte exclusion of the first polar body, although it did not affect germinal vesicle breakdown (GVBD) through in vitro oocyte culture system. Results of in vitro fertilization show that BBP exposure affects blastocyst rate. Subsequently, the results obtained by immunofluorescence staining technology showed that oocyte spindle organization, chromosomal arrangement and the distribution of cortical actin were disrupted by BBP exposure, and led to the failure of oocyte meiotic maturation and the subsequent early embryo development. Singe‐cell transcriptome analysis found that BBP exposure altered the expression levels of 588 genes, most associated with mitochondria‐related oxidative stress. Further analysis demonstrated that the detrimental effects of BBP involved the disruption of mitochondrial function and oxidative stress‐induced early apoptosis. Nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) supplementation reduced the adverse effects of BBP. Collectively, these findings revealed a mechanism of BBP‐induced toxicity on female reproduction and showed that NMN provides an effective treatment for BBP actions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cerebral amyloid-β (Aβ) accumulation due to impaired Aβ clearance is a pivotal event in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Considerable brain-derived Aβ is cleared via transporting to the periphery. The liver is the largest organ responsible for the clearance of metabolites in the periphery. Whether the liver physiologically clears circulating Aβ and its therapeutic potential for AD remains unclear. Here, we found that about 13.9% of Aβ42 and 8.9% of Aβ40 were removed from the blood when flowing through the liver, and this capacity was decreased with Aβ receptor LRP-1 expression down-regulated in hepatocytes in the aged animals. Partial blockage of hepatic blood flow increased Aβ levels in both blood and brain interstitial fluid. The chronic decline in hepatic Aβ clearance via LRP-1 knockdown specific in hepatocytes aggravated cerebral Aβ burden and cognitive deficits, while enhancing hepatic Aβ clearance via LRP-1 overexpression attenuated cerebral Aβ deposition and cognitive impairments in APP/PS1 mice. Our findings demonstrate that the liver physiologically clears blood Aβ and regulates brain Aβ levels, suggesting that a decline of hepatic Aβ clearance during aging could be involved in AD development, and hepatic Aβ clearance is a novel therapeutic approach for AD. A single biomaterial is disadvantageous for constructing skin in vitro, so a mixed biomaterial is more conducive to skin research. In this study, agarose–chitosan scaffolds with a final concentration of 4% were constructed by freeze‐drying, in which the concentration ratios of agarose to chitosan were 1:3, 2:2, and 3:1. The scaffolds were coated with a 3 mg/ml collagen solution, and the mechanical properties were evaluated by studying density, porosity, swelling rate, and degradation rate. The results demonstrated that the agarose–chitosan scaffolds were porous, with porosity reaching 93%. Their densities ranged from 0.1 to 0.16 g/cm3. Analysis of Young's modulus showed that the mechanical properties of the agarose–chitosan scaffolds were significantly enhanced when the agarose content in the agarose–chitosan scaffolds was increased. Moreover, the density and Young's modulus of the agarose–chitosan scaffolds of different concentration ratios were significantly different (p < 0.01). These scaffolds can withstand a certain amount of external pressure, such as that of human skin, making them more suitable for further skin replacement research. In addition, the results of thiazolyl blue tetrazolium bromide (MTT) cell assay and immunofluorescence staining showed that the collagen‐coated agarose–chitosan scaffolds were conducive to keratinocyte proliferation and differentiation. The MTT results revealed significant differences between the agarose–chitosan scaffolds coated with collagen and the agarose–chitosan scaffolds without collagen (p < 0.05).
