Chicken yolk immunoglobulin (IgY), an immunologically active component, is used as an alternative to antibiotics for the treatment of enteritis. In this study, IgY was embedded in a W/O/W emulsion to overcome the digestive barrier and to investigate the protective effect of IgY against LPS-induced enteritis in mice. Four different hydrophilic emulsifiers (T80, PC, SC, and WPI) were selected to prepare separate W/O/W emulsions for encapsulating IgY. The results showed that the IgY-embedded double emulsion in the WPI group was the most effective. IgY embedded in the W/O/W emulsion could reduce the damage of LPS to the mouse intestine and prevent LPS-induced intestinal mucosal damage in mice. It increased the number of cup cells, promoted the expression of Muc2, and increased the mRNA expression levels of KLF3, TFF3, Itln1, and Ang4 (p < 0.05). It also enhanced the antioxidant capacity of the colon tissue, reduced the level of inflammatory factors in the colon tissue, and protected the integrity of the colon tissue. Stable embedding of IgY could be achieved using the W/O/W emulsion. In addition, the IgY-embedded W/O/W emulsion can be used as a dietary supplement to protect against LPS-induced enteritis in mice. Simple Summary: The global economic cost of managing invasive species exceeded $423 billion annually in 2019 and has increased at least fourfold every decade since 1970. In South Korea, the annual damage caused by invasive species is estimated to be between $93 million and $51.68 million. South Korea is vulnerable to invasive species and the cost of invasive species is estimated to be the highest among other countries, indicating the need for policy measures and responses. Most of the invasive reptiles in South Korea are introduced and released by humans. The hybridization of the Chinese striped-necked turtle Mauremys sinensis and Reeves' turtle M. reevesii identified in the current study is also suspected to have been introduced from captivity into the wild, raising alarm bells. This suggests that the introduction of hybrids into the wild could pose a serious problem for biodiversity, especially for the M. reevesii, as it could undermine the genetic diversity of the population. Public awareness and education are needed to preserve South Korea's biodiversity, and efforts must be made to reduce the number of exotic reptiles introduced into the wild. The Chinese striped-necked turtle Mauremys sinensis, introduced into South Korea presumably in 2012, is considered an invasive alien species owing to its devastating impact, including hybridization with the native protected species Reeves' turtle M. reevesii. Recently, the presence of M. sinensis has been confirmed throughout the country, and several sympatric areas with M. reevesii have been reported. Thus, field surveys were conducted at 47 sites across M. sinensis and M. reevesii habitats in South Korea to determine the extent of hybridization. Five sympatric sites were confirmed, and hybrid individuals were identified at four sites. Genetic analyses (COI and R35) of two individuals from Jeju Island confirmed maternal M. reevesii and paternal M. sinensis lineages. Hybridization presumably does not occur under natural conditions, and the hybrids likely originated from captive breeding. This study identifies for the first time the habitats of M. sinensis and its hybrids in the wild of South Korea. The management measures proposed in the current study could be of value for the conservation of the native species; however, our study did not include reproductive monitoring, and there is a need for such surveys as well as for systematic management of non-native turtles introduced into South Korea. This study employs the two-dimensional Legendre polynomial fitting (2-D LPF) method to fit M2 tidal harmonic constants from satellite altimetry data within the region of 53°E–131°E, 34°S–6°N, extracting internal tide signals acting on the sea surface. The M2 tidal harmonic constants are derived from the sea surface height (SSH) data of the TOPEX/Poseidon (T/P), Jason-1, Jason-2, and Jason-3 satellites via t-tide analysis. We validate the 2-D LPF method against the 300 km moving average (300 km smooth) method and the one-dimensional Legendre polynomial fitting (1-D LPF) method. Through cross-validation across 42 orbits, the optimal polynomial orders are determined to be seven for 1-D LPF, and eight and seven for the longitudinal and latitudinal directions in 2-D LPF, respectively. The 2-D LPF method demonstrated superior spatial continuity and smoothness of internal tide signals. Further single-orbit correlation analysis confirmed generally higher correlation with topographic and density perturbations (correlation coefficients: 0.502, 0.620, 0.245; 0.420, 0.273, −0.101), underscoring its accuracy. Overall, the 2-D LPF method can use all regional data points, overcoming the limitations of single-orbit approaches and proving its effectiveness in extracting internal tide signals acting on the sea surface. In this study, the Regional Ocean Modeling System (ROMS) is employed to construct a three-dimensional barotropic ocean model with a monodirectional upper boundary and homogeneous and steady wind covering the entire computation area. Eight perturbation experiments are designed to determine the vertical grid distribution difference with high resolution at the surface and bottom. Two types are considered in the model, including removing the Coriolis force (type 1) and employing a different Coriolis force (type 2). According to the experiments, the velocity of the current in type 1 yields uncertainty, and wind energy could penetrate the upper ocean and reach the abyss. The surface velocity in type 2 is fundamentally compatible with the empirical relationship constructed by Ekman, and the curved lines of the vertical distribution of horizontal currents nearly match. For type 1, the velocity is very strong from the sea surface to the bottom. When comparing type 1 and type 2 cases, the Coriolis force obstructs the wind energy transfer into the deep ocean. In addition, the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF)'s global surface wind distribution indicates that the realistic ocean upper wind boundary is similar to the numerical experiment in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, where the wind direction is along the latitude line at the equator. In order to make the experimental situation as close as possible to the real ocean, validation experiments are conducted in this study to consider the uncertainty in the current profile at the equator. The simulation results of type 1 differ significantly from the data obtained from the real ocean. This uncertainty may transfer the signal to higher latitudes, causing incorrect simulation results, especially in the critical region. Chopper and capacitively coupled techniques are employed in instrumentation amplifiers to create capacitively coupled chopper instrumentation amplifiers (CCIAs) that obtain a high noise power efficiency. However, the CCIA has some disadvantages due to the chopper technique, namely chopper ripple and a low input impedance. The amplifier can easily saturate due to the chopper ripple of the CCIA, especially in extremely low noise problems. Therefore, ripple attenuation is required when designing CCIAs. To record biomedical information, a CCIA with a low power consumption and a low noise, low output ripple, and high input impedance (Zin) is presented in this paper. By introducing a ripple attenuation loop (RAL) including the chopping offset amplifier and a low pass filter, the chopping ripple can be reduced to 0.36 mV. To increase the Zin of the CCIA up to 1.8 GΩ, an impedance boost loop (IBL) is added. By using 180 nm CMOS technology, the 0.123 mm2 CCIA consumes 1.87 µW at a supply voltage of 1 V. According to the simulation results using Cadance, the proposed CCIA architecture achieves a noise floor of 136 nV/√Hz, an input-referred noise (IRN) of 2.16 µVrms, a closed-loop gain of 40 dB, a power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) of 108.6 dB, and a common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) of 118.7 dB. Galectins have the potential to interact with transmembrane glycoproteins to modulate their functions. Since galectin-1 interacts with PDGF-Rβ, we analyzed the effect of galectin-1 on PDGF-BB-mediated AKT signaling in primary human retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cells and galectin-1-deficient immortalized human RPE cells (LGALS1−/−/ARPE-19) following incubation with PDGF-BB and galectin-1. Expression and localization of galectin-1, PDGF-Rβ and pAKT were investigated using western blot analysis and immunohistochemical staining. Cell proliferation of RPE cells was analyzed using BrdU ELISA. Following treatment of human RPE cells with human recombinant (hr)-galectin-1 and PDGF-BB, an intense clustering of PDGF-Rβ and colocalization with galectin-1 were detected. By Western blot analysis and immunocytochemistry of human RPE cells, an enhanced PDGF-BB-mediated expression of pAKT was observed, which was substantially reduced by additional incubation with hr-galectin-1. Vice versa, in LGALS1−/−/ARPE-19 cells, the PDGF-BB-induced pAKT signal was enhanced compared to wild-type cells. Furthermore, a decreased expression of PDGF-Rβ in human RPE cells was observed after treatment with PDGF-BB and hr-galectin-1, while in untreated LGALS1−/−/ARPE-19 cells, its constitutive expression was increased. In addition, after treatment of RPE cells with hr-galectin-1, the PDGF-BB-induced proliferation was markedly reduced. In summary, galectin-1 has the distinct potential to reduce PDGF-mediated pAKT signaling and proliferation in human RPE cells—an effect that is most likely facilitated via a decreased expression of PDGF-Rβ. Taiwan Bank (TB) is located in the southern Taiwan Strait (TS). The uplifted continental slope and bottom currents in this area result in the formation of upwelling areas, which serve as crucial fishing grounds. Climate-induced fluctuations in fish populations occur in the TS. However, how predation and competition affect the interspecies relationships in the TB ecosystem warrants clarification. In this study, we collected high-grid-resolution data on fishery activity (2013–2019) and constructed ecosystem models using Ecopath with Ecosim (EwE). Three mass-balanced models for determining the influence of El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) events on the TB ecosystem were constructed using EwE. A range of groups, including representative pelagic, benthic, and reef species, were collected for analyzing the relationship between migratory and sedentary species in terms of ecosystem structure variation due to climate change. The results demonstrated that the total system throughput (TST) was 10,556–11,122 t km−2 year−1, with an average transfer efficiency of 12.26%. According to the keystoneness index, calculated through mixed trophic impact analysis, Polydactylus sextarius and Scomber japonicus were the key species with top–down control and relatively high impact on the ecosystem in normal years. The keystone species also shifted to the predator fish Thunnus albacares and Katsuwonus pelamis during El Niño and La Niña events, respectively. Moreover, total biomass, TST, consumption, and respiration were noted to increase during ENSO events. However, during La Niña events, the diversity and connectance indexes were relatively low but pelagic species' biomass was relatively high, whereas the biomass of most benthic and reef species was relatively high during El Niño events. Pediatric chronic intestinal failure (PIF) is a rare and heterogeneous condition characterized by the inability of the patient's intestine to adequately absorb the required fluids and/or nutrients for growth and homeostasis. As a result, patients will become dependent on home parenteral nutrition (HPN). A MEDLINE search was performed in May 2024 with keywords "intestinal failure", "parenteral nutrition" and "pediatric". Different underlying conditions which may result in PIF include short bowel syndrome, intestinal neuromuscular motility disorders and congenital enteropathies. Most common complications associated with HPN are catheter-related bloodstream infections, catheter-related thrombosis, intestinal failure-associated liver disease, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, metabolic bone disease and renal impairment. Treatment for children with PIF has markedly improved with a great reduction in morbidity and mortality. Centralization of care in specialist centers and international collaboration between centers is paramount to further improve care for this vulnerable patient group. A recently promising medical therapy has become available for children with short bowel syndrome which includes glucagon-like peptide 2, a naturally occurring hormone which is known to delay gastric emptying and induce epithelial proliferation. Despite advances in curative and supportive treatment, further research is necessary to improve nutritional, pharmacological and surgical care and prevention of complications associated with parenteral nutrition use. Simple Summary: In this retrospective study, three dogs and three cats were selected from the database of the Chonnam National University Teaching Hospital from February 2017 to June 2019. The inclusion criteria for the selection of patients were as follows: (1) clinical data including age, sex, breed, clinical signs, histology, fine-needle aspiration, or fluid centesis were available and (2) intraluminal CEUS was performed; CEUS findings helped confirm the diagnosis. Each patient underwent physical examination, blood tests, radiography, and conventional ultrasonography. Intraluminal CEUS was performed using contrast agents, including SonoVue, agitated saline, saline, or a combination for GI hydrosonography in two patients and sono-cystourethrography in four patients. GI hydrosonography could assess the anatomic relationship between the mass and gastric lumen after administration of a mixture of 0.1 mL SonoVue and 30 mL/kg water in case 1 and could dilate the colonic lumen to detect the thickened wall using saline infusion in case 2. Upon sono-cystourethrography, communication between the urinary tract and prostatic cyst was clearly visualized in case 3, and narrowing of the urethral lumen secondary to prostatomegaly could be ruled out in case 4 with pyogranulomatous prostitis using agitated saline. The saline or agitated saline is appropriate for filling the lumen and improving the acoustic window for GI hydrosonography. Intraluminal CEUS examinations helped to assess the patency of the lumen, evaluate the extent of luminal dilation, rule out luminal narrowing, determine the presence of a mass within the lumen, and identify rupture sites. Administering intraluminal fluid can improve the acoustic window for the visualization of the lumen and wall layers in the cavitary organs. Microbubbles in ultrasound contrast agents can also be used for intracavitary applications to enhance visualization of the lesion in human patients. However, there was no literature extending the clinical application of intraluminal contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) to patients with naturally occurring diseases in veterinary medicine. Modern agriculture, with the use of artificial lighting, requires high-intensity LED luminaires with compact dimensions. In this regard, new approaches to the design of LED luminaires using both new materials and technical solutions have been considered. The theoretical evaluation of the influence of different materials on the efficiency of removal of thermal energy from LEDs was shown. A new material PMS-5 is proposed and evaluated as an immersion liquid, which can be used as an effective heat sink in the lower part of the luminaire up to the level of LEDs located in the top light LED luminaires. The proposed polymethylsiloxane PMS-5 liquid has more than twice the thermal conductivity (0.167 W/(m·K)) of HFE7200 and NS15 liquids used in immersion-cooled LED luminaires. Based on the theoretical evaluation, the requirements for parameters, such as metal profile area, immersion liquid volume, wall thickness area, and external area of the cylinder, are highlighted and shown. The noted parameters have a key role in the design of an efficient top light LED luminaire. It has been shown that the design of the metal profile significantly affects the efficiency of the removal of thermal energy from LEDs and it is necessary to use specialized profiles optimized for the diameter of the LED luminaire cylinder. A number of LED luminaire designs were proposed, depending on the thermal properties of the construction materials, technical and economic performance, as well as actual operating and installation conditions. This research focuses on finding multiple solutions (MSs) to nonlinear fractional boundary value problems (BVPs) through a new development, namely the predictor Laplace fractional power series method. This method predicts the missing initial values by applying boundary or force conditions. This research provides a set of theorems necessary for deriving the recurrence relations to find the series terms. Several examples demonstrate the efficacy, convergence, and accuracy of the algorithm. Under Caputo's definition of the fractional derivative with symmetric order, the obtained results are visualized numerically and graphically. The behavior of the generated solutions indicates that altering the fractional derivative parameters within their domain symmetrically changes these solutions, ultimately aligning them with the standard derivative. Wilson's disease (WD) is a rare, autosomal recessive disorder of copper metabolism caused by pathogenic mutations in the ATP7B gene. Cellular copper overload is associated with impaired iron metabolism. Oxidative stress, cuproptosis, and ferroptosis are involved in cell death in WD. The clinical picture of WD is variable. Hepatic/neuropsychiatric/other symptoms may manifest in childhood/adulthood and even old age. It has been shown that phenotypic variability may be determined by the type of ATP7B genetic variants as well as the influence of various genetic/epigenetic, environmental, and lifestyle modifiers. In 1976, immunological abnormalities were first described in patients with WD. These included an increase in IgG and IgM levels and a decrease in the percentage of T lymphocytes, as well as a weakening of their bactericidal effect. Over the following years, it was shown that there is a bidirectional relationship between copper and inflammation. Changes in serum cytokine concentrations and the relationship between cytokine gene variants and the clinical course of the disease have been described in WD patients, as well as in animal models of this disease. Data have also been published on the occurrence of antinuclear antibodies (ANAs), antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCAs), anti-muscle-specific tyrosine kinase antibodies, and anti-acetylcholine receptor antibodies, as well as various autoimmune diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), myasthenic syndrome, ulcerative colitis, multiple sclerosis (MS), polyarthritis, and psoriasis after treatment with d-penicillamine (DPA). The occurrence of autoantibodies was also described, the presence of which was not related to the type of treatment or the form of the disease (hepatic vs. neuropsychiatric). The mechanisms responsible for the occurrence of autoantibodies in patients with WD are not known. It has also not been clarified whether they have clinical significance. In some patients, WD was differentiated or coexisted with an autoimmune disease, including autoimmune hepatitis or multiple sclerosis. Various molecular mechanisms may be responsible for immunological abnormalities and/or the inflammatory processes in WD. Their better understanding may be important for explaining the reasons for the diversity of symptoms and the varied course and response to therapy, as well as for the development of new treatment regimens for WD. Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) still suffer from varying degrees of optical and electrical losses. To enhance the light decoupling and capture ability of Planar PSCs, an ultra-thin PSC structure with an Al2O3 pyramid anti-reflection layer (Al2O3 PARL) is proposed. The effect of the structure of the Al2O3 PARL on the photoelectric performance of PSCs was investigated by changing various parameters. Under the AM1.5 solar spectrum (300–800 nm), the average light absorption rates and quantum efficiency (QE) of PSCs containing pyramid-array textured rear layers (PARLs) were significantly higher than those of planar PSCs. The Al2O3 PARL-based PSCs achieved a light absorption rate of 96.05%. Additionally, electrical simulations were performed using the finite element method (FEM) to calculate the short-circuit current density (JSC), open-circuit voltage (VOC), and maximum power (Pmax). Based on the maximum value of the average light absorbance, the geometric structure of the Al2O3 pyramid PSCs was optimized, and the optimization results coincided with the JSC and QE results. The results of the electrical simulation indicated that the maximum JSC was 23.54 mA/cm2. Additionally, the JSC of the Al2O3 pyramid PSCs was 22.73% higher than that of planar PSCs, resulting in a photoelectric conversion efficiency (PCE) of 24.34%. As a result, the photoelectric conversion rate of the solar cells increased from 14.01% to 17.19%. These findings suggest that the presence of the Al2O3 PARL enhanced photon absorption, leading to an increase in electron–hole pairs and ultimately improving the photocurrent of the solar cells. In the age of intelligence, information technology (IT) education has become the focus of attention in the education sector. However, traditional teaching methods fall short in motivating students and fostering higher-order thinking and have difficulty providing a personalized learning experience. Although AI chatbots can provide instant feedback as an innovative teaching tool, it is still challenging to fully enhance learner engagement. Based on this, this study developed a digital game-based AI chatbot system to enhance students' learning experience through digital game-based learning strategies. This study utilized a quasi-experimental design with the experimental group using a digital game-based AI chatbot and the control group using a traditional AI chatbot. A comparison was made between the two groups concerning student learning performance in IT courses, higher-order thinking (including problem-solving, computational thinking, and creativity), learning motivation, and flow experience. In addition, the behavioral patterns of high-achieving and low-achieving students in the experimental group were analyzed. The results showed that the experimental group was significantly better than the control group in academic performance, problem-solving, computational thinking, learning motivation, and flow experience, but there was no significant difference in creativity tendency. Behavioral pattern analysis showed that high-achieving students in the experimental group showed more systematic learning strategies, while low-achieving students relied more on immediate feedback and external help, but both high- and low-achieving groups were able to actively talk to the AI chatbot and actively explore problem-solving strategies in the digital game. Human DNA topoisomerase I (Topo I) is an essential enzyme in regulating DNA supercoiling during transcription and replication, and it is an important therapeutic target for anti-tumor agents. Bidens pilosa L. is a medicinal herb that is used as a folk medicine for cancers in China. A new flavonoid (1) and a new polyacetylene (20), along with eighteen flavonoids (2–19) and nine polyacetylenes (21–29), were isolated and identified from the methanol extract of the whole plant of B. pilosa, and some of the compounds (4, 5, 6 and 7) exhibited potent cytotoxicity against a panel of five human cancer cell lines. The DNA relaxation assay revealed that some flavonoids and polyacetylenes exerted inhibitory activities on human DNA Topo I, among them compounds 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 15, 19, 20, 22, and 24 were the most active ones, with IC50 values of 393.5, 328.98, 145.57, 239.27, 224.38, 189.84, 89.91, 47.5, 301.32, 178.03, and 218.27 μM, respectively. The structure–activity analysis of flavonoids was performed according to the results from the Topo I inhibition assay. The DNA content analysis revealed that 5, 6, and 7 potently arrested cell cycle at the G1/S and G2/M phases in human colon cancer cell DLD-1 depending on the concentration of the inhibitors. The levels of protein expression related to the G1/S and G2/M cell cycle checkpoints were in accordance with the results from the DNA content analysis. A Hanok is a representative wooden structure in Korea and is recognized for its environmentally friendly architecture. Since the 2010s, the demand for Hanoks has increased significantly, but new Hanoks tend to be built with only numerical changes to existing plans or only imitate the shape. This is due to the fact that architectural designers do not have systematic training in Hanoks, so they rely on carpenters with extensive experience in Hanok construction. As designers reconfigure Hanok's floor plan space using existing drawings to accommodate modernization, the building's form changes as spatial reduction and expansion occur. This change in form creates problems with the proportions of the elements that make up a Hanok, such as the roof being smaller than the body or the building being taller than the scale of the floor plan. A more significant issue is the lack of recognition of the proportion problem. Therefore, this study has a direct role in the systematic design and construction of Hanoks by deriving objective proportions of Hanoks. To increase the objectivity of the data, numerical data of floor plans, cross-sections, and front elevations of national heritage Hanoks with well-preserved traditional shapes were extracted and analyzed for patterns. Subsequently, similar forms were categorized, and ultimately, the plan, section, and elevation proportions were quantified. The results indicated that the plan was characterized by spatial expansion in the X-axis direction more than the Y-axis while maintaining rectangular proportions. The cross-sectional structure showed a change in height depending on the width of the plan, and it was found that the larger the width of the plan, the lower the height ratio of the cross-section. Of particular interest was the analysis of the ratio of exposed area in the elevation, divided into three areas: roof, Gongpo, and the frame, and the interaction between the roof and Gongpo was confirmed within 63.7% of the total exposed area ratio. This result suggests that the proportion of Hanoks exists despite the different scales, times, and locations of Hanoks. This study can serve as a reference for designers in the process of verifying and modifying design drawings, and it is significant in providing a method and direction for building a new dataset for Hanok design. In the small intestine, nutrients from ingested food are absorbed and broken down by enterocytes, which constitute over 95% of the intestinal epithelium. Enterocytes demonstrate diet- and segment-dependent metabolic flexibility, enabling them to take up large amounts of glutamine and glucose to meet their energy needs and transfer these nutrients into the bloodstream. During glycolysis, ATP, lactate, and H+ ions are produced within the enterocytes. Based on extensive but incomplete glutamine oxidation large amounts of alanine or lactate are produced. Lactate, in turn, promotes hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (Hif-1α) activation and Hif-1α-dependent transcription of various proton channels and exchangers, which extrude cytoplasmic H+-ions into the intestinal lumen. In parallel, the vitamin C-dependent and duodenal cytochrome b-mediated conversion of ferric iron into ferrous iron progresses. Finally, the generated electrochemical gradient is utilized by the divalent metal transporter 1 for H+-coupled uptake of non-heme Fe2+-ions. Iron efflux from enterocytes, subsequent binding to the plasma protein transferrin, and systemic distribution supply a wide range of cells with iron, including erythroid precursors essential for erythropoiesis. Liver damage can progress through different stages, resulting in cirrhosis or hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), conditions that are often associated with viral infections. Globally, 42% and 21% of cirrhosis cases correlate with HBV and HCV, respectively. In the Americas, the prevalence ranges from 1% to 44%. The WHO has the goal to eliminate viral hepatitis, but it is important to consider occult HBV infection (OBI), a clinical condition characterized by the presence of HBV genomes despite negative surface antigen tests. This review aims to provide an overview of recent data on OBI, focusing on its role in the development of hepatic diseases and its significance in the WHO Viral Hepatitis Elimination Plan. Specific HBV gene mutations have been linked to HCC and other liver diseases. Factors related to the interactions between OBI and mutated viral proteins, which induce endoplasmic reticulum stress and oxidative DNA damage, and the potential role of HBV integration sites (such as the TERT promoter) have been identified in HCC/OBI patients. Health initiatives for OBI research in Latin American countries are crucial to achieving the WHO's goal of eradicating viral hepatitis by 2030, given the difficulty in diagnosing OBI and its unclear association with hepatic diseases. With increased heat control requirements for high-heat-flux products in a narrow heat dissipation space, the ultra-thin micro-heat pipe (MHP) with high heat transfer performance has become an ideal heat dissipation component. In this study, the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method is used to conduct three-dimensional modeling based on the geometric structure characteristics of an ultra-thin MHP. The capillary pressure of the sintered wick is represented by the modified parameter, and a simple and valuable heat and mass transfer model of the ultra-thin MHP is established by fitting the real experimental data through parameter modification. The flow situation of the working medium inside the ultra-thin MHP is analyzed based on the abovementioned parameters. The results show that when the modified parameter is α = 1.5, the temperature equalization requirements of the ultra-thin MHP can be met to the best degree. Moreover, with an increase in heating power, the error value between the surface temperature data of the model and the experimental data of the ultra-thin MHP sample decreases. Under different heating powers, the working medium inside the ultra-thin MHP has the same flow trend. In addition, a 40% increase in temperature difference is found at the junction of the heating section and the adiabatic section, leading to a fluctuation in the temperature gradient on the heat pipe surface. ACE2, part of the angiotensin-converting enzyme family and the renin–angiotensin–aldosterone system (RAAS), plays vital roles in cardiovascular and renal functions. It is also the primary receptor for SARS-CoV-2, enabling its entry into cells. This project aimed to study ACE2's cellular trafficking and maturation to the cell surface and assess the impact of various drugs and compounds on these processes. We used cellular and biochemical analyses to evaluate these compounds as potential leads for COVID-19 therapeutics. Our screening assay focused on ACE2 maturation levels and subcellular localization with and without drug treatments. Results showed that ACE2 maturation is generally fast and robust, with certain drugs having a mild impact. Out of twenty-three tested compounds, eight significantly reduced ACE2 maturation levels, and three caused approximately 20% decreases. Screening trafficking inhibitors revealed significant effects from most molecular modulators of protein trafficking, mild effects from most proposed COVID-19 drugs, and no effects from statins. This study noted that manipulating ACE2 levels could be beneficial or harmful, depending on the context. Background: Volatile organic compounds (VOC) are major indoor air pollutants. Previous studies reported an association between VOC exposure and allergic diseases. Here, we aimed to explore the relationship between VOC exposure and atopic dermatitis (AD) in adults. Methods: We prospectively enrolled 31 adult AD patients and 11 healthy subjects as controls. Urine metabolite levels of VOCs, including 1.3-butadiene, acrylamide, benzene, toluene, and xylene, were all determined with liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry. The relationship between AD and log-transformed urine levels of VOC metabolites were examined using a multivariate linear regression model adjusted for age and sex. We also treated mouse bone marrow-derived cells (BMMCs) with 1,3-butadiene and toluene and measured the release of β-hexosaminidase. Results: Our results demonstrated that creatinine-corrected urine levels of N-Acetyl-S- (3,4-dihydroxybutyl)-L-cysteine (DHBMA), N-Acetyl-S-(2-carbamoyl-2-hydroxyethyl)-L-cysteine (GAMA), and N-Acetyl-S-(benzyl)-L-cysteine (BMA) were all elevated in AD patients compared with controls. In a multivariate linear regression model, creatinine-corrected urine levels of BMA (a toluene metabolite) and DHBMA (a 1,3-butadiene metabolite) appeared elevated in AD patients, although statistical significance was not reached after correction for multiple comparisons. In addition, 1,3-butadiene and toluene could stimulate BMMCs to degranulate as much as compound 48/80. Asiatic acid (AA) is a pentacyclic triterpene derived from the traditional medicine Centella asiatica. It is known for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and lipid-regulating properties. Though previous studies have suggested its potential therapeutic benefits for atherosclerosis, its pharmacological mechanism is unclear. The objective of this study was to investigate the molecular mechanism of AA in the treatment of atherosclerosis. Therefore, network pharmacology was employed to uncover the mechanism by which AA acts as an anti-atherosclerotic agent. Furthermore, molecular docking, molecular dynamics (MD) simulation, and in vitro experiments were performed to elucidate the mechanism of AA's anti-atherosclerotic effects. Molecular docking analysis demonstrated a strong affinity between AA and PPARγ. Further MD simulations demonstrated the favorable stability of AA-PPARγ protein complexes. In vitro experiments demonstrated that AA can dose-dependently inhibit the expression of inflammatory factors induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in RAW264.7 cells. This effect may be mediated through the PPARγ/NF-κB signaling pathway. Research is increasingly revealing that inflammation significantly contributes to various diseases, particularly inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). IBD is a major medical challenge due to its chronic nature, affecting at least one in a thousand individuals in many Western countries, with rising incidence in developing nations. Historically, indigenous people have used natural products to treat ailments, including IBD. Ethnobotanically guided studies have shown that plant-derived extracts and compounds effectively modulate immune responses and reduce inflammation. Similarly, helminths and their products offer unique mechanisms to modulate host immunity and alleviate inflammatory responses. This review explored the pharmaceutical potential of Aboriginal remedial plants and helminths for treating IBD, emphasizing recent advances in discovering anti-inflammatory small-molecule drug leads. The literature from Scopus, MEDLINE Ovid, PubMed, Google Scholar, and Web of Science was retrieved using keywords such as natural product, small molecule, cytokines, remedial plants, and helminths. This review identified 55 important Aboriginal medicinal plants and 9 helminth species that have been studied for their anti-inflammatory properties using animal models and in vitro cell assays. For example, curcumin, berberine, and triptolide, which have been isolated from plants; and the excretory-secretory products and their protein, which have been collected from helminths, have demonstrated anti-inflammatory activity with lower toxicity and fewer side effects. High-throughput screening, molecular docking, artificial intelligence, and machine learning have been engaged in compound identification, while clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR) gene editing and RNA sequencing have been employed to understand molecular interactions and regulations. While there is potential for pharmaceutical application of Aboriginal medicinal plants and gastrointestinal parasites in treating IBD, there is an urgent need to qualify these plant and helminth therapies through reproducible clinical and mechanistic studies. Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is the most common cause of peripheral compressive neuropathy and consists of compression of the median nerve in the wrist. Although there are several etiologies, idiopathic is the most prevalent origin, and among the forms of treatment for CTS, conservative is the most indicated. However, despite the high prevalence in and impact of this syndrome on the healthcare system, there are still controversies regarding the best therapeutic approach for patients. Therefore, noting that some studies point to vitamin D deficiency as an independent risk factor, which increases the symptoms of the syndrome, this study evaluated the role of vitamin D supplementation and its influence on pain control, physical examination and response electroneuromyography to conservative treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome. For this, the sample consisted of 14 patients diagnosed with CTS and hypovitaminosis D, who were allocated into two groups. The control group received corticosteroid treatment, while the experimental group received corticosteroid treatment associated with vitamin D. Thus, from this study, it can be concluded that patients who received vitamin D, when compared to those who did not receive it, showed improvement in the degree of pain intensity, a reduction in symptom severity and an improvement in some electroneuromyographic parameters. Chlamydia (C.) trachomatis, a leading cause of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) worldwide, continues to be a significant public health concern. The majority of infections are asymptomatic and, when left untreated, severe sequelae such as infertility and chronic pelvic pain can occur. Despite decades of research, an effective vaccine remains elusive. This review focuses on the potential of Major Outer Membrane Protein (MOMP)-derived constructs as promising candidates for C. trachomatis vaccination. MOMP, the most abundant protein in the outer membrane of C. trachomatis, has been a focal point of vaccine research over the years due to its antigenic properties. To overcome issues associated with the use of full MOMP as a vaccine antigen, derivative constructs have been studied. As these constructs are often not sufficiently immunogenic, antigen delivery systems or accompanying adjuvants are required. Additionally, several immunization routes have been explored with these MOMP-derived vaccine antigens, and determining the optimal route remains an ongoing area of research. Aiming to improve the estimation and prediction accuracy of a target's position, this paper proposes a state estimation method for photoelectric tracking systems, based on the evaluation of the tracked target's motion intention. Traditional photoelectric tracking systems utilize external physical quantities such as the position, velocity, and acceleration of the target as the estimated states. While this method can output good results for pre‐modelled target positions, it struggles to maintain the accuracy when facing manoeuvering targets or complex motion patterns targets. Here, the relevant parameters of the tracked target's motion intention are directly estimated innovatively, like estimating the circling point position rather than the circular flying target's position and velocity. This approach enables recognizing the target's motion intention and leads to precise estimation, which specifically consists of an interacting multiple model approach, multiple unscented Kalman estimators, and a robust estimator. Background: Food insecurity is a heightened concern among economically disadvantaged youth, and it may contribute to the atypical body mass index (BMI) patterns frequently observed in this group. Self-efficacy seems to intervene in the negative impacts of contextual restraints. This study investigated the relationship between food insecurity, self-efficacy, and BMI trajectory among economically disadvantaged Taiwanese youth. Methods: We utilized three-wave longitudinal data from the Taiwan Database of Children and Youth in Poverty. The Food Insecurity Score (FIS) assessed food insecurity with a 4-item scale measuring reduced meal frequency, hunger, skipping meals, and economic constraints. Moreover, the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) assessed self-efficacy, showcasing the ability to handle stress effectively and envision success scenarios, contributing to positive outcomes. By employing latent growth modeling, we were able to delineate the impacts of baseline food insecurity and self-efficacy on initial BMI and its subsequent growth trajectory. Results: Elevated baseline FIS significantly predicted higher initial BMI (coefficient = 0.420, p = 0.042). Baseline GSES was negatively associated with initial BMI (coefficient = −0.093, p < 0.001) but positively predicted the BMI growth rate (coefficient = 0.023, p = 0.011). Conclusion: Enhancing self-efficacy may be an effective multidisciplinary intervention to address psychosocial and socioeconomic factors when tackling weight problems in vulnerable youth groups. Zinc (Zn) is the second most abundant metal in the human body and is essential for the function of 10% of all proteins. As metals cannot be synthesized or degraded, they must be assimilated from the diet by specialized transport proteins, which unfortunately also provide an entry route for the toxic metal pollutant cadmium (Cd). The intestinal absorption of Zn depends on the composition of food that is consumed, firstly the amount of Zn itself and then the quantity of other food constituents such as phytate, protein, and calcium (Ca). In cells, Zn is involved in the regulation of intermediary metabolism, gene expression, cell growth, differentiation, apoptosis, and antioxidant defense mechanisms. The cellular influx, efflux, subcellular compartmentalization, and trafficking of Zn are coordinated by transporter proteins, solute-linked carriers 30A and 39A (SLC30A and SLC39A), known as the ZnT and Zrt/Irt-like protein (ZIP). Because of its chemical similarity with Zn and Ca, Cd disrupts the physiological functions of both. The concurrent induction of a Zn efflux transporter ZnT1 (SLC30A1) and metallothionein by Cd disrupts the homeostasis and reduces the bioavailability of Zn. The present review highlights the increased mortality and the severity of various diseases among Cd-exposed persons and the roles of Zn and other transport proteins in the manifestation of Cd cytotoxicity. Special emphasis is given to Zn intake levels that may lower the risk of vision loss and bone fracture associated with Cd exposure. Pediatric uveitis has a low incidence. It is very diverse in its presentation and is often the first sign of a severe systemic disease. The pediatric population poses a special therapeutic and diagnostic challenge due to the potentially adverse effects of therapeutic agents on the young body and difficult cooperation with the patient during the examination, as well as the increased risk of complications that can lead to severe disability. The most commonly diagnosed type of uveitis is non-infectious, with first-line therapy consisting of systemic corticosteroids followed by disease-modifying drugs (methotrexate (MTX), mycophenolate mofetil (MMF), and cyclosporin A (CsA)). In severe, refractory cases, biologic therapy is used. The authors reviewed the current literature on the etiology, diagnostic tools, and treatment of uveitis in the pediatric population covering the years 2018–2023, presenting current methods of modern diagnosis and treatment. The reason for writing this article was the need to update the knowledge on uveitis, driven by the increasing prevalence of autoimmune uveitis in the pediatric population. This trend presents significant challenges in diagnosing and treating the disease, as well as managing its complications. Correctly identifying the pathogenetic factor of uveitis can facilitate the diagnosis of the systemic disease underlying the ocular infection and enable the timely implementation of systemic treatment. Furthermore, the emergence of new diagnostic methods necessitates a revision and update of ophthalmic knowledge, essential for both ophthalmologists and other specialists involved in the treatment of uveitis. T cell activation is critical for an effective immune response against pathogens. However, dysregulation contributes to the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases, including Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA). The molecular mechanisms underlying T cell activation are still incompletely understood. T cell activation promotes the acetylation of histone 3 at Lysine 27 (H3K27ac) at enhancer and promoter regions of proinflammatory cytokines, thereby increasing the expression of these genes which is essential for T cell function. Co-activators E1A binding protein P300 (P300) and CREB binding protein (CBP), collectively known as P300/CBP, are essential to facilitate H3K27 acetylation. Presently, the role of P300/CBP in human CD4+ T cells activation remains incompletely understood. To assess the function of P300/CBP in T cell activation and autoimmune disease, we utilized iCBP112, a selective inhibitor of P300/CBP, in T cells obtained from healthy controls and JIA patients. Treatment with iCBP112 suppressed T cell activation and cytokine signaling pathways, leading to reduced expression of many proinflammatory cytokines, including IL-2, IFN-γ, IL-4, and IL-17A. Moreover, P300/CBP inhibition in T cells derived from the inflamed synovium of JIA patients resulted in decreased expression of similar pathways and preferentially suppressed the expression of disease-associated genes. This study underscores the regulatory role of P300/CBP in regulating gene expression during T cell activation while offering potential insights into the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases. Gastrointestinal cancers, which include a variety of esophageal and colorectal malignancies, present a global health challenge and require effective treatment strategies. In the evolving field of cancer immunotherapy, tissue-resident memory T cells (Trm cells) have emerged as important players in the immune response within nonlymphoid tissues. In this review, we summarize the characteristics and functions of Trm cells and discuss their profound implications for patient outcomes in gastrointestinal cancers. Positioned strategically in peripheral tissues, Trm cells have functions beyond immune surveillance, affecting tumor progression, prognosis, and response to immunotherapy. Studies indicate that Trm cells are prognostic markers and correlate positively with enhanced survival. Their presence in the tumor microenvironment has sparked interest in their therapeutic potential, particularly with respect to immune checkpoint inhibitors, which may improve cancer treatment. Understanding how Trm cells work will not only help to prevent cancer spread through effective treatment but will also contribute to disease prevention at early stages as well as vaccine development. The role of Trm cells goes beyond just cancer, and they have potential applications in infectious and autoimmune diseases. The burden of morbidity and mortality caused by sexually transmitted infections (STIs) has serious consequences on the quality of life of populations. Nowadays, despite numerous prevention campaigns, sexually transmitted infections have been on the rise in France for several years. It remains important to transmit the right information in order to better educate and support patients. Where then remains the problem, and how can we improve the involvement and awareness of the general population regarding the risks of these STIs? It is imperative to work upstream on the training of health professionals and students because they are the first interlocutors and the only ones to transmit the knowledge acquired during their initial training to the individuals concerned. The objective of this work is to identify the areas where health professionals and students do not yet have all the notions acquired via a multiple-choice questionnaire on the different STIs and their major characteristics. This paper explores the advantages of the Two Degree of Freedom Proportional-Integral-Derivative (2DOF_PID) controller in tracking the reference signal and rejecting the disturbance signal at the same time. Three types of metaheuristic optimization algorithms are employed for tuning the controller's parameters which are Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Genetic Algorithm (GA), and Dragonfly Algorithm (DA). These three algorithms have in common that they combine the exploratory concept (global search) and the exploitative concept (local search) in order to reach the optimal global solution. The effectiveness of these algorithms was taken advantage of to improve the performance of the control system that contains the controller. Second and third order plants were adopted for the purpose of testing, evaluating, and comparing the performance of the control system. This aim was accomplished by using each of the optimization algorithms for each plant. An incomplete Freund's adjuvant elicited an overt pathogenesis in vaccinated mice following the intranasal challenge of A/California/07/2009 (H1N1) virus despite the induction of a higher specific antibody titer than other adjuvanted formulations. Aluminum hydroxide adjuvants have not induced any pathogenic signs in a variety of formulations with glycolipids. A glycolipid, α-galactosyl ceramide, improved a stimulatory effect of distinct adjuvanted formulations on an anti-influenza A antibody response. In contrast to α-galactosyl ceramide, its synthetic analogue C34 was antagonistic toward a stimulatory effect of an aluminum hydroxide adjuvant on a specific antibody response. The aluminum hydroxide adjuvant alone could confer complete vaccine-induced protection against mortality as well as morbidity caused by a lethal challenge of the same strain of an influenza A virus. The research results indicated that adjuvants could reshape immune responses either to improve vaccine-induced immunity or to provoke an unexpected pathogenic consequence. On the basis of these observations, this research connotes the prominence to develop a precision adjuvant for innocuous vaccination aimed at generating a protective immunity without aberrant responses. Purpose: The main purpose of this study is to provide a comprehensive review and critical insights of the application of fuzzy methods in modeling, assessing and understanding the various aspects of green and sustainable supply chains (SSCs). Design/methodology/approach: The present study conducts a systematic literature review (SLR) and bibliometric analysis of 252 research articles. This study employs various tools such as VOSviewer version 1.6.10, Publish or Perish, Mendeley and Excel that aid in descriptive analysis, bibliometric analysis and network visualization. These tools have been used for performing citation analysis, top authors' analysis, co-occurrence of keywords, cluster and content analysis. Findings: The authors have divided the literature into seven application areas and discussed detailed insights. This study has observed that research in the social sustainability area, including various issues like health and safety, labor rights, discrimination, etc. is scarce. Integration of the Industry 4.0 technologies like blockchain, big data analytics, Internet of Things (IoT) with the sustainable and green supply chain (GSC) is a promising field for future research. Originality/value: The authors' contribution primarily lies in providing the integrated framework which shows the changing trends in the use of fuzzy methods in the sustainability area classifying and consolidating green and sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) literature in seven major areas where fuzzy methods are predominantly applied. Understanding the mechanisms of shock-induced pore collapse is of great interest in various disciplines in sciences and engineering, including materials science, biological sciences, and geophysics. However, numerical modeling of the complex pore collapse processes can be costly. To this end, a strong need exists to develop surrogate models for generating economic predictions of pore collapse processes. In this work, we study the use of a data-driven reduced-order model, namely dynamic mode decomposition, and a deep generative model, namely conditional generative adversarial networks, to resemble the numerical simulations of the pore collapse process at representative training shock pressures. Since the simulations are expensive, the training data are scarce, which makes training an accurate surrogate model challenging. To overcome the difficulties posed by the complex physics phenomena, we make several crucial treatments to the plain original form of the methods to increase the capability of approximating and predicting the dynamics. In particular, physics information is used as indicators or conditional inputs to guide the prediction. In realizing these methods, the training of each dynamic mode composition model takes only around 30 s on CPU. In contrast, training a generative adversarial network model takes 8 h on GPU. Moreover, using dynamic mode decomposition, the final-time relative error is around 0.3% in the reproductive cases. We also demonstrate the predictive power of the methods at unseen testing shock pressures, where the error ranges from 1.3 to 5% in the interpolatory cases and 8 to 9% in extrapolatory cases. Deep seawater (DS), obtained from a depth over 200 m, has health benefits due to its rich nutrients and minerals, and intake of DS has shown diverse immunomodulatory effects in allergies and cancer. Therefore, the immunostimulatory effects of Korean mineral-rich seawaters were examined in a cyclophosphamide (CPA)-induced immunosuppression model. Three samples of Korean seawater, namely DS from the East Sea off the coasts of Pohang (PDS) and Uljin (UDS), and seawater from the West Sea off the coast of Boryeong (BS), were collected. The seawaters were abundant in several minerals (calcium, iron, zinc, selenium, etc.). Mice were orally administered the seawaters for 42 days, followed by CPA-induced immunosuppression. The CPA induction reduced the weight of the spleen and lymph nodes; however, the administration of seawaters increased the weight of the lymphoid organs, accompanied by stimulation of natural killer cells' activity and NF-kB-mediated cytokine production (IFNγ, TNFα, IL1β, IL6, and IL12). The mouse-derived splenocytes showed lymphoproliferation without cytotoxicity in the seawater groups. Histopathological analysis revealed that the seawaters improved the CPA-induced atrophic changes by promoting lymphoproliferation in the spleen and lymph nodes. These results provide useful information for the use of Korean mineral-rich seawaters, particularly PDS and UDS, as alternative immunostimulants under immunosuppressive conditions. Due to the inhomogeneity and anisotropy of mine rock bodies, ionic rare earth ore bodies exhibit varying pore structures at different depths. This research focuses on an ionic rare earth mine in Fujian Province, where in situ ore samples rather than remodeled soil samples were studied. Samples from the fully weathered layer at depths of 1 m, 12 m, and 21 m, both before and after leaching, were collected for onsite analysis. Microscopic pore characteristics were evaluated using scanning electron microscopy, and digital image processing was utilized to study the evolution of the pore scale, distribution, and shape in rare earth ore samples at various depths pre- and post-leaching. The results indicate an increase in the ore body's porosity with the depth of the ore samples both before and after leaching. The variation in pore scale is predominantly dictated by the ratio of macropore and large pores. Pre-leaching, the middle ore sample showcased the highest uniformity, with the upper part being the most irregular. Post-leaching, the highest uniformity was observed in the lower ore samples, with the upper part remaining irregular. Pre-leaching, as depth increased, the pore distribution in ore samples became more dispersed, with decreasing orderliness. Post-leaching, the orderliness was most improved in upper ore samples, while middle ore samples became the least orderly. Additionally, before leaching, pore-shape roughness increased with depth; after leaching, the pore shape became more rounded as depth increased, simplifying the pore-shape structure of the ore samples both before and after leaching. Theoretical and experimental approaches have been applied to study the polymer physics underlying the compaction of DNA in the bacterial nucleoid. Knowledge of the compaction mechanism is necessary to obtain a mechanistic understanding of the segregation process of replicating chromosome arms (replichores) during the cell cycle. The first part of this review discusses light microscope observations demonstrating that the nucleoid has a lower refractive index and thus, a lower density than the cytoplasm. A polymer physics explanation for this phenomenon was given by a theory discussed at length in this review. By assuming a phase separation between the nucleoid and the cytoplasm and by imposing equal osmotic pressure and chemical potential between the two phases, a minimal energy situation is obtained, in which soluble proteins are depleted from the nucleoid, thus explaining its lower density. This theory is compared to recent views on DNA compaction that are based on the exclusion of polyribosomes from the nucleoid or on the transcriptional activity of the cell. These new views prompt the question of whether they can still explain the lower refractive index or density of the nucleoid. In the second part of this review, we discuss the question of how DNA segregation occurs in Escherichia coli in the absence of the so-called active ParABS system, which is present in the majority of bacteria. How is the entanglement of nascent chromosome arms generated at the origin in the parental DNA network of the E. coli nucleoid prevented? Microscopic observations of the position of fluorescently-labeled genetic loci have indicated that the four nascent chromosome arms synthesized in the initial replication bubble segregate to opposite halves of the sister nucleoids. This implies that extensive intermingling of daughter strands does not occur. Based on the hypothesis that leading and lagging replichores synthesized in the replication bubble fold into microdomains that do not intermingle, a passive four-excluding-arms model for segregation is proposed. This model suggests that the key for segregation already exists in the structure of the replication bubble at the very start of DNA replication; it explains the different patterns of chromosome arms as well as the segregation distances between replicated loci, as experimentally observed. In this article, we construct a new order 2.0 simplified weak Itô–Taylor symmetrical scheme for stochastic delay differential equations. By the new local weak convergence lemma and the connection inequality, we theoretically prove the global weak convergence theorem in two parts on the basis of Malliavin stochastic analysis. Meanwhile, numerical examples are presented to illustrate the error and convergence results. Furthermore, the obtained results display the influence of the delay coefficient on global errors. Efficient resource allocation is crucial in clusters with frugal Single-Board Computers (SBCs) possessing limited computational resources. These clusters are increasingly being deployed in edge computing environments in resource-constrained settings where energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness are paramount. A major challenge in Hadoop scheduling is load balancing, as frugal nodes within the cluster can become overwhelmed, resulting in degraded performance and frequent occurrences of out-of-memory errors, ultimately leading to job failures. In this study, we introduce an Adaptive Multi-criteria Selection for Efficient Resource Allocation (AMS-ERA) in Frugal Heterogeneous Hadoop Clusters. Our criterion considers CPU, memory, and disk requirements for jobs and aligns the requirements with available resources in the cluster for optimal resource allocation. To validate our approach, we deploy a heterogeneous SBC-based cluster consisting of 11 SBC nodes and conduct several experiments to evaluate the performance using Hadoop wordcount and terasort benchmark for various workload settings. The results are compared to the Hadoop-Fair, FOG, and IDaPS scheduling strategies. Our results demonstrate a significant improvement in performance with the proposed AMS-ERA, reducing execution time by 27.2%, 17.4%, and 7.6%, respectively, using terasort and wordcount benchmarks. Some researchers in past years have tried to develop a simplified method for analyzing soil liquefaction. However, the correctness of the pore water pressure in the model will affect the results. In addition, the formulas derived are not easy, and the exact parameters of the model are difficult to obtain. This study used a mass-spring-damping system to simulate the repeated strain of liquefaction cyclic triaxial tests. Because the model is simple and the parameters are easy to understand and obtain, it also shows the extensibility of this model. During the parameter study, damping coefficient c and spring coefficient k parameters decreased with the increasing cyclic number. Preliminary results of the research show that this model can further simulate the repeated strain obtained by cyclic triaxial tests without considering the variation of effective stress during cyclic loading. Four samples were used to verify the model's correctness, and their boring sites were found in Yunlin areas, Taiwan. Simulation results show that the spring-damping system is feasible for simulated cyclic triaxial tests because the simulated results correlate to the testing results in trend. Generally, the first cycle number simulation will be less accurate because the pore water pressure of the specimen changes rapidly when the performance has just started. In contrast, the increase in subsequent cycles may be biased due to cyclic stress variation and soil plasticity during simulation. ZrCo alloy is easily poisoned by impurity gases such as O2, CO, and CO2, resulting in a deterioration in hydrogen storage performance. In this study, we conducted a comprehensive investigation into the adsorption and dissociation characteristics of oxygen on the ZrCo(110) surface using first-principles calculations. Previous studies indicated that the anti-disproportionation properties of ZrCo alloy can be significantly improved by Hf substitution, but the effect of Hf doping on the anti-poisoning properties has not been reported. We also examined the effect of Hf doping on the adsorption, dissociation, and diffusion characteristics of oxygen. It is found that on the ZrCo(110) surface, O2 molecules are easily dissociated and then stably adsorbed at the hollow site. Oxygen atoms will fill the surface preferentially and then diffuse inward. The doping of Hf has an insignificant impact on the adsorption or dissociation behavior of oxygen in comparison to the pure ZrCo surface. However, a notable observation is that the doping of Hf resulted in a reduction in the diffusion barrier for oxygen from the surface to the subsurface by 0.61 eV. Consequently, our study suggests that doping Hf is not an advisable strategy for improving the ZrCo(110) surface's resistance to O2 poisoning because of improved oxygen permeability. In this review, we meticulously analyze and consolidate various techniques used for measuring the junction temperature of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) by examining recent advancements in the field as reported in the literature. We initiate our exploration by delineating the evolution of LED technology and underscore the criticality of junction temperature detection. Subsequently, we delve into two key facets of LED junction temperature assessment: steady-state and transient measurements. Beginning with an examination of innovations in steady-state junction temperature detection, we cover a spectrum of approaches ranging from traditional one-dimensional methods to more advanced three-dimensional techniques. These include micro-thermocouple, liquid crystal thermography (LCT), temperature sensitive optical parameters (TSOPs), and infrared (IR) thermography methods. We provide a comprehensive summary of the contributions made by researchers in this domain, while also elucidating the merits and demerits of each method. Transitioning to transient detection, we offer a detailed overview of various techniques such as the improved T3ster method, an enhanced one-dimensional continuous rectangular wave method (CRWM), and thermal reflection imaging. Additionally, we introduce novel methods leveraging high-speed camera technology and reflected light intensity (h-SCRLI), as well as micro high-speed transient imaging based on reflected light (μ_HSTI). Finally, we provide a critical appraisal of the advantages and limitations inherent in several transient detection methods and offer prognostications on future developments in this burgeoning field. The gut microbiota and short chain fatty acids (SCFA) have been associated with immune regulation and autoimmune diseases. Autoimmune kidney diseases arise from a loss of tolerance to antigens, often with unclear triggers. In this review, we explore the role of the gut microbiome and how disease, diet, and therapy can alter the gut microbiota consortium. Perturbations in the gut microbiota may systemically induce the translocation of microbiota-derived inflammatory molecules such as liposaccharide (LPS) and other toxins by penetrating the gut epithelial barrier. Once in the blood stream, these pro-inflammatory mediators activate immune cells, which release pro-inflammatory molecules, many of which are antigens in autoimmune diseases. The ratio of gut bacteria Bacteroidetes/Firmicutes is associated with worse outcomes in multiple autoimmune kidney diseases including lupus nephritis, MPO-ANCA vasculitis, and Goodpasture's syndrome. Therapies that enhance SCFA-producing bacteria in the gut have powerful therapeutic potential. Dietary fiber is fermented by gut bacteria which in turn release SCFAs that protect the gut barrier, as well as modulating immune responses towards a tolerogenic anti-inflammatory state. In order to determine the junction temperature of semiconductor devices operating at different power supply and cooling conditions, their thermal parameters are needed. This article describes an original measurement set-up enabling the determination of thermal parameters of power semiconductor devices. In contrast to other set-ups described in the literature, this set-up makes it possible to measure thermal parameters which characterize the efficiency of the removal generated due to a self-heating phenomenon, as well as the parameters characterizing mutual thermal couplings. The presented set-up makes use of an indirect electrical method to determine the junction temperature of diodes, bipolar and unipolar transistors and IGBTs. The methods used to measure the self and transfer transient thermal impedances of these devices and the construction of the set-up are described. The influence of selected factors on the accuracy of the measurements is analyzed. Examples of the measurement results of thermal parameters (self and transfer transient thermal impedances) of power semiconductor devices operating at different cooling conditions are presented. Purpose: The paper develops a model for enhancing R&D productivity for Indian public funded laboratories. The paper utilizes the productivity data of five Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) laboratories for analysis and to form the constructs of the model. Design/methodology/approach: The weighted average method was employed for analyzing the rankings of survey respondents pertaining to the significant measures enhancing R&D involvement of researchers and significant non-R&D jobs. The authors have proposed a model of productivity. Various individual, organizational and environmental constructs related to the researchers working in the CSIR laboratories have been outlined that can enhance R&D productivity of researchers in Indian R&D laboratories. Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to find the predictability of the productivity model. Findings: The organizational factors have a crucial role in enhancing the R&D outputs of CSIR laboratories. The R&D productivity of researchers can be improved through implementing the constructs of the proposed model of productivity. Research limitations/implications: The R&D productivity model can be adapted by the R&D laboratories to enhance researchers' R&D involvement, increased R&D outputs and achieving self-sustenance in long run. Practical implications: The R&D laboratories can initiate exercises to explore the most relevant factors and measures to enhance R&D productivity of their researchers. The constructs of the model can function as a guideline to introduce the most preferable research policies in the laboratory for overall mutual growth of laboratory and the researchers. Cancer patients face increased susceptibility to invasive infections, primarily due to ulcerative lesions on mucosal surfaces and immune suppression resulting from chemotherapy. Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa) bacteremia is notorious for its rapid progression into fatal sepsis, posing a significant threat to cancer patients, particularly those experiencing chemotherapy-induced neutropenia. This bacterial infection contributes significantly to morbidity and mortality rates among such individuals. Our latest report showed the mutually beneficial effects of postbiotic butyrate on 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1,25D3)-controlled innate immunity during Salmonella colitis. Hence, we investigated the impact of butyrate and 1,25D3 on chemotherapy-induced gut-derived P. aeruginosa sepsis in mice. The chemotherapy-induced gut-derived P. aeruginosa sepsis model was established through oral administration of 1 × 107 CFU of the P. aeruginosa wild-type strain PAO1 in C57BL/6 mice undergoing chemotherapy. Throughout the infection process, mice were orally administered butyrate and/or 1,25D3. Our observations revealed that the combined action of butyrate and 1,25D3 led to a reduction in the severity of colitis and the invasion of P. aeruginosa into the liver and spleen of the mice. This reduction was attributed to an enhancement in the expression of defensive cytokines and antimicrobial peptides within the cecum, coupled with decreased levels of zonulin and claudin-2 proteins in the mucosal lining. These effects were notably more pronounced when compared to treatments administered individually. This study unveils a promising alternative therapy that involves combining postbiotics and 1,25D3 for treating chemotherapy-induced gut-derived P. aeruginosa sepsis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
