Abstract

Indirect searches of Dark Matter (DM), in conjugation with `missing track searches' at the collider seem to confine SU(2)$_L$ fermion triplet DM (FTDM) mass within a narrow range around 1 TeV. The canonical picture of the pure FTDM is in tension since it is under-abundant for the said mass range. Several preceding studies have reported that an extra species ($\phi$), redshifts faster than the radiation ($\sim a^{-(4+n)}$ where $n>0$), leads to a faster expanding early Universe by dominating in the energy density with an enhanced Hubble parameter. This has the potential to revive the under-abundant FTDM ($\mathbb{Z}_2$ odd, lightest generation) by causing freeze-out earlier without modifying the interaction strength between DM and thermal bath. On the other hand, although the CP asymmetry produced due to the decay of $\mathbb{Z}_2$ even heavier generations of the triplet remains unaffected, its evolution is greatly affected by the non-standard cosmology. It has been observed through numerical estimations that the minimum mass of the triplet, required to produce sufficient baryon asymmetry of the Universe (BAU), can be lowered up to two orders (compared to the standard cosmology) in this fast expansion scenario. The non-standard parameters $n$ and $T_r$ (a reference temperature below which radiation dominance prevails), which simultaneously control DM abundance as well as the frozen value of BAU, are tightly constrained from the observed experimental values. We have found that $n$ is strictly bounded within the interval $0.4\lesssim n \lesssim 1.8$ where the upper bound is imposed by the BAU constraint whereas the lower bound arises to satisfy the correct DM abundance. 5. Baryon asymmetry and lower bound on right handed neutrino mass in fast expanding Universe: an analytical approach

Abstract

The expansion rate of the Universe deviates from its standard value when the total energy density includes contribution from a new scalar field apart from the radiation energy density. The non-trivial modifications incurred in the Boltzmann equations render the well known analytical solutions unsuitable in non standard scenario. In the present study we derive analytical expressions for the efficiency factor (which is nothing but solution of set of Boltzmann equations) using certain legible approximations. A fair degree of accuracy of these formulas have been observed by juxtaposing the analytical results with that obtained through numerical solution of Boltzmann equations. Faster expansion of the Universe results in decrement of the effective decay parameter which brings down the amount of washout of asymmetry due to inverse decay. Thus in non-standard cosmology scenario, a larger fraction of the asymmetry (generated at early epoch) is expected to survive till present epoch. Alteration of the cosmology does not affect the underlying particle physics model responsible for the generation of the CP asymmetry. Therefore starting from an identical particle physics model we will end up with a larger final baryon asymmetry in the non-standard scenario. Abstract

Background: Research on the use of silver nanoparticles in the context of diabetes mellitus has gained attention due to the unique properties of these nanoparticles, such as their antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant characteristics. While the field is still in its early stages, several studies have explored the potential applications and effects of silver nanoparticles in managing diabetes. Diabetes mellitus, a global health concern marked by impaired insulin function and high blood glucose levels, has spurred innovative therapeutic investigations, including nanotechnology. Silver nanoparticles have emerged as promising candidates in this pursuit. This abstract provides an overview of current research on silver nanoparticles' application in managing diabetes mellitus, highlighting their therapeutic potential and mechanisms of action. With unique physicochemical properties like high surface area and bio-compatibility, silver nanoparticles are ideal for diverse biomedical applications. Recent studies show their ability to modulate key pathways in diabetes pathogenesis, enhancing insulin sensitivity, reducing oxidative stress, and supporting pancreatic beta-cell function. Their antimicrobial properties are particularly beneficial for diabetes patients prone to infections. Moreover, using silver nanoparticle-based carriers for anti-diabetic drugs improves drug bio-availability and reduces side effects, potentially enhancing conventional medication efficacy. However, addressing safety and toxicity concerns is crucial. Ongoing research focuses on optimizing nanoparticle size, shape, and surface modifications to enhance bio-compatibility and minimize adverse effects. Short conclusion: In conclusion, silver nanoparticles represent a novel and multifaceted approach in the management of diabetes mellitus. Their ability to target multiple facets of diabetes pathogenesis, including insulin resistance, oxidative stress, and inflammation, positions them as potential candidates for future therapeutic interventions. Abstract

Background: The 21st century has marked an increase in global health challenges due to lifestyle transformations  associated with globalization and modernization. Diseases such as mental stress, diabetes, hypertension, and  cardiovascular ailments have become prominent, emphasizing the need for effective interventions. Objective: The objective of the study was to assess the potential therapeutic benefits of Kumbhaka, a key component  of yoga, in managing type 2 diabetes. Methods: A 60-day intervention study was conducted, involving three groups: Group I received allopathic medicine,  Group II practiced Kumbhaka exclusively, and Group III served as the control. Various biochemical parameters,  including fasting plasma glucose, 2-h postprandial glucose, and hemoglobin A1c, were monitored. Results: Both experimental groups (Group I and II) demonstrated significant reductions in the monitored biochemical  parameters. Notably, Group II exhibited better outcomes compared to Group I. In addition, improvements in energy  levels and blood pressure were observed in the experimental groups. Conclusion: Kumbhaka therapy demonstrated promising results in managing type 2 diabetes, suggesting its  potential as an alternative or complementary approach. Further comprehensive studies with larger sample sizes are  recommended for validation and broader applicability.

Abstract

The ship-generated waves in restricted waterways can influence the behavior of sediment resuspension and bank erosion. This paper explores the case study considering the effect of ship-generated waves in restricted channels. A fully nonlinear Boussinesq model (FUNWAVE-TVD) is used to simulate the ship-generated waves. The sediment transport model adopted in FUNWAVE has been changed to incorporate the modified diffusion coefficients, deposition flux, and an explicit equation for settling velocity and critical shield parameter. The sediment transport model was validated against the experimental results of solitary waves in a wave tank, and model performance in shoreline geometry was reported. The implementation of the moving vessel in the numerical model and its impact on suspended sediment concentration were evaluated against the field measurements in the Falta stretch of the Hooghly river in Indian National Waterway 1. The error value in predicting the depth-averaged suspended sediment concentration by the FUNWAVE module was 97.6%, which has been significantly reduced to 16.3% based on the present modification. The parametric study of the ship waves in a typical restricted waterway of India revealed that the concentration of the sediments gradually decreases from the navigation channel to the river banks due to dissipation in the ship waves. The change in wave height and depth-averaged sediment concentration increases with the increasing depth Froude number. Finally, the impact on sediment transport due to different scenarios, such as the movement of two vessels in close proximity, the passage of vehicles coming from the opposite direction on the navigation channel, the influence of small draft vessels, and the bed morphology changes due to the multiple vessel movements are analyzed and reported.
