Cataglyphis arenaria Finzi, 1940 Fig. 10 Cataglyphis (Cataglyphis) albicans var. arenaria Finzi, 1940: 164 (w) Algeria. Palearctic. Diagnosis Body color yellow, gaster frequently with a dark apex; propodeal dorsum low in profile; mesosoma bare except for few pairs of short setae on propodeum; mesosoma, posterior part of head and coxae covered with a layer of silvery appressed pubescence. Material examined This species was not collected during the present study. Ecological and biological notes Nothing has been published on the ecology of this species. Geographic range Cataglyphis arenaria was originally described from Algeria and has been recorded from Oman (Collingwood & Agosti 1996), and UAE (Collingwood et al. 2011).
