Abstract

In order to detect overlapping community structures in complex networks,the idea of density peaks clustering algorithm is introduced.However,applying the density peaks clustering algorithm to community detection still has problems such as how to measure the distance between nodes and how to generate overlapping partition results.Therefore,a node local similarity based two-stage density peaks algorithm for overlapping community detection is proposed (LSDPC).By combining hub promoted index and connection contribution degree,a new node local similarity index is defined,and the node distance is measured with the node local similarity.Then the local density and minimum distance of nodes are used to calculate their center values and Chebyshev inequality is used to select communities’ center nodes.The overlapping communities are obtained through initial assignment and overlapping assignment.Experimental results on real network datasets and synthetic network datasets show that the proposed algorithm can effectively detect overlapping community structure,and the results are better than that of other algorithms.

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Chlorantraniliprole (CAP) is a diamide insecticide with high efficacy against many pest insects, including the black cutworm, Agrotis ipsilon. Agrotis ipsilon is a serious pest causing significant yield losses in crops. Glutathione‐S‐transferases (GSTs) belong to a family of metabolic enzymes that can detoxify a wide range of pesticides. However, little is known about the functions of GSTs in CAP tolerance in A. ipsilon. RESULTS: A cDNA sequence (designated AiGSTu1) encoding an unclassified GST was identified from A. ipsilon. AiGSTu1 is highly expressed during the 3rd‐instar larval and the pupal stages. Most of the mRNA transcripts were found in larval Malpighian tubules. Exposure to CAP strongly enhanced AiGSTu1 expression, GST activity, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and malondialdehyde levels in larvae. H2O2 treatment upregulated the transcription level of AiGSTu1, suggesting that CAP‐induced oxidative stress may activate AiGSTu1 expression. The activity of recombinant AiGSTu1 was inhibited by CAP in a dose‐dependent manner. Metabolism assay results demonstrated that AiGSTu1 is capable of depleting CAP. Overexpression of AiGSTu1 enhanced the tolerance of Escherichia coli cells to H2O2 and the oxidative stress inducer, cumene hydroperoxide. Silencing of AiGSTu1 by RNA interference increased the susceptibility of A. ipsilon larvae to CAP. CONCLUSION: The findings of this study provide valuable insights into the potential role of AiGSTu1 in CAP detoxification and will improve our understanding of CAP tolerance in A. ipsilon. © 2023 Society of Chemical Industry. 48. Controllable fabrication of FeCoS4nanoparticles/S-doped bowl-shaped hollow carbon as efficient lithium storage anode

Abstract

To address the low conductivity and easy agglomeration of transition metal sulfide nanoparticles, FeCoS4nanoparticles embedded in S-doped hollow carbon (FeCoS4@S-HC) composites were successfully fabricated through a combination of hydrothermal processes and sulfidation treatment. The unique bowl-shaped FeCoS4/S-HC composites exhibit excellent structural stability with a high specific surface area of 303.7 m2·g−1and a pore volume of 0.93 cm3·g−1. When applied as anode material for lithium-ion batteries, the FeCoS4@S-HC anode exhibits efficient lithium storage with high reversible specific capacity (970.2 mA·h·g−1at 100 mA·g−1) and enhanced cycling stability (574 mA·h·g−1at 0.2 A·g−1after 350 cycles, a capacity retention of 84%). The excellent lithium storage is attributed to the fact that the bimetallic FeCoS4nanoparticles with abundant active sites can accelerate the electrochemical reaction kinetics, and the bowl-shaped S-HC structure can provide a stable mechanical structure to suppress volume expansion.
