Online learning has been extensively conducted to continue the academic activities in the universities transversely the realm during the pandemic instigated by COVID-19. Like other countries' universities across the world, universities in a developing country such as Bangladesh are going through the online learning phenomenon. However, the current virtual platform of learning implies enormous challenges for undergraduates to participate in the online learning process due to numerous barriers. Thus, the current paper intends to examine barriers that intensify unwillingness to online education at the university level in the context of Bangladesh. Based on the underpinning theories of TAM3 and UTAUT, this study identified four major barriers such as financial, insufficient institutional support, technological, and individual. Furthermore, gender is considered as moderating variable in the model. To inspect such barriers along with the moderating variable, this study employs the Partial Least Squares (PLS) technique to estimate the measurement and structural model parameters and to generate the coexisting bootstrap assessments. The bootstrapping procedure has been initiated to test the statistical significance of the model parameter estimations. The findings confirm that technological, and insufficient institutional support barriers are statistically significant whereas the other two barriers have been revealed as non-significant to intensify learners' reluctance to the online study. Furthermore, current findings also ratify no significant effect of gender as a moderating variable. Finally, this study augments specific policy implications for diverse stakeholders in current settings.

The present study examines the impact of board diversity on financial reporting quality with special consideration of the extent to which family and royal directors influence financial reporting quality (FRQ). The study utilises a sample of 181 listed GCC firms over the period from 2010 to 2016. Board personal attributes, including board expertise, age, gender, and nationality are investigated along with some other board issues such as; board size, meetings, and independence. Panel data analysis with fixed and random effect models are conducted to estimate the results. The results reveal that companies with large board size and greater age have less FRQ. Further, the results report that institutional founders, higher board independence, and expertise associate with greater levels of FRQ. The results also find that board meetings and family founders negatively influence FRQ. However, female directors, foreign directors, and royal board members setting in the board did not contribute to the levels of FRQ in the sampled companies. Finally, the results indicate that companies with a CEO royal member have higher levels of FRQ however, companies with chair board royals have less levels of FRQ. In the recent past, the world in general and Pakistan in particular faced a drastic fuel price change, affecting the economic productivity of the country. This has drawn the attention of empirical researchers to analyze the abrupt change in fuel prices. This study takes a lead and investigates for the first time, in the literature related to Pakistan, the presence of multiple fuel price bubbles, with the purpose of knowing if the price driver is due to demand or it is exuberant consumer behavior that prevails and contributes to a sudden boom in fuel price series. The empirical analysis is performed through a recently proposed state-of-the-art generalized sup ADF (GSADF) approach on six commonly used fuel price series, namely, LDO (light diesel oil), HSD (high-speed diesel), petrol, natural gas, kerosene, and MS (motor spirit). The bubble analysis for each of the six fuel price series is based on monthly data from July 2005 to August 2020. The findings provide evidence of the existence of multiple bubbles in all series considered. Specifically, four bubbles are detected in each of the kerosene and natural gas price series, whereas three bubbles are noted in each of the HSD, LDO, petrol and MS price series. The maximum duration of occurrence of bubbles is of 12 months for kerosene. The date-stamping of the bubbles shows that the financial crisis of 2008 contributed to the emergence of bubbles that pushed oil prices upward and caused a depreciation in the national currency. This study aimed to investigate the effects of government support for the business survival of SME restaurants in Indonesia. In this study, we analyzed the impact of government support on the innovation of SME restaurants as well as the impact of entrepreneurial self-efficacy on innovation. Furthermore, this study analyzed the impact of entrepreneurial self-efficacy and innovation on business survival. A total of 120 owners or managers of SME restaurants participated in this study. The sample was collected based on a purposive method. To analyze the relationship among latent variables, we implemented structural equation modeling (SEM). The results show that government support has a positive impact on business survival through marketing and process innovation. In addition, the business survival of SMEs is affected by marketing innovation, process innovation, and entrepreneurial self-efficacy. In this study, the entrepreneurial factor had the highest impact on SMEs' survival. This study established the body of knowledge related to the positive effect of government support on innovation in the perspective of small and medium-sized restaurants in the emerging market countries and developed a model of business survival of SMEs during pandemic crises by integrating external factors (government support) and an internal factor (entrepreneurial self-efficacy) through marketing and process innovation in the food processing industry.
