AbstractDigital hoarding is one of the new concepts entering our lives with the digitalization of the world in the present day. The lack of definition as a disorder to date is related to the inadequacy of research related to the topic. In this study, an attempt was made to deal with and explain the digital hoarding concept in terms of psychological variables. The aim of the research was to investigate the correlations between digital hoarding with personality traits and mental health. The sample for the study, completed with a cross-sectıon research desıgn, comprised 1018 Turkish university students attending different universities in the north of Türkiye. Data collection tools included the Digital Hoarding Scale, Ten-Item Personality Inventory, Offer Self-Image Questionnaire and Personal Information Form. As a result of the correlation analysis, significant correlations were identified between digital hoarding with mental health, extraversion, emotional stability, openness to experience and agreeableness. As a result of regression analysis, the subdimensions of personality traits and mental health explained 4% of digital hoarding. The findings contribute to the limited literature about the topic by revealing correlations between digital hoarding and psychological variables. Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the caries diagnosis performances of dental students after training with an artificial intelligence (AI) application utilizing deep learning techniques, a type of artificial neural network. Methods: A total of 1200 bitewing radiographs were obtained from the institution's database and two specialist dentists labeled the caries lesions in the images. Randomly selected 1000 images were used for training purposes and the remaining 200 radiographs were used to evaluate the caries diagnostic performance of the AI. Then, a convolutional neural network, a deep learning algorithm commonly employed to analyze visual imagery problems, called "You Only Look Once," was modified and trained to detect enamel and dentin caries lesions in the radiographs. Forty dental students were selected voluntarily and randomly divided into two groups. The pre‐test results of dental caries diagnosis performances of both groups were recorded. After 1 week, group 2 students were trained using an AI application. Then, the post‐test results of both groups were recorded. The labeling duration of the students was also measured and analyzed. Results: When both groups' pre‐test and post‐test results were evaluated, a statistically significant improvement was found for all parameters examined except precision score (p < 0.05). However, the trained group's accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and F1 scores were significantly higher than the non‐trained group in terms of post‐test scores (p < 0.05). In group 2 (trained group), the post‐test labeling time was considerably increased (p < 0.05). Conclusions: The students trained by AI showed promising results in detecting caries lesions. Background. Indirect restorations have been employed in restorative dentistry to solve some of the drawbacks of direct restorations. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of different modes of a universal adhesive resin on the repair capacity of two indirect resin composites and a direct resin composite. Methods. Indirect composite resins (Ceramage and Gradia Plus) and a direct composite resin (Filtek Z250) were prepared in a plastic mold with a height and diameter of 2-mm and 6-mm, respectively. Composite blocks were thermocycled (5000 cycles, 5°C-55°C). Then, according to their surface treatments, composite blocks were categorized into six-groups: Group 1: ER (etch&rinse), Group 2: SE (self-etch), Group 3: Bur + ER (bur + etch&rinse), Group 4: Bur + SE (bur + self-etch), Group 5: Bur + Silane + ER (bur + silane + etch&rinse), Group 6: Bur + Silane + SE (bur + silane + self-etch), respectively. After surface treatments and adhesive application for bonding with a direct resin composite, all groups were then thermocycled before performing shear-bond-strength-test. Failure modes were evaluated using a stereomicroscope. Data were analyzed by two-way-ANOVA and Bonferroni-test (P < 0.05). Results. The highest bond-strength values were obtained for Bur + Silane + SE groups, while the lowest values were obtained for the Bur + Silane + ER groups for all materials. Statistically significant differences were observed between the Bur + Silane + ER group and ER, Bur + ER and Bur + Silane + SE groups in Gradia Plus (P < 0.05). Conclusion. The self-etch-mode of the universal-adhesive and silane applications led to the increase in the repair-strength of the adhesive in the Filtek Z250 and Ceramage. The selfetch- mode of the universal-adhesive might be used to reduce adhesive-application-steps in the clinical repair procedures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Several chemical, mechanical, or physical stimuli can be used to promote oocyte activation during ICSI cycles. Calcium ionophore is the most commun method for chemical oocyte activation and activation may be beneficial for cases of globozoospermia, low oocyte count, total fertilization failure, recurrent implantation failure (1,2). In what concern low ovarian reserve cases, a subgroup of infertile couples with relatively poor prognosis, artificial oocyte activation with calcium ionophore may improve fertilization rates, embryo number, embryo quality and pregnancy rates. This study aimed to find out whether Ca2+ ionophore improves fertilization, embryo development and pregnancy out comes in patients with low ovarian reserve. This study is conducted at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Unit. All IVF-ICSI cycles performed because of female factor, low ovarian reserve between November 2023 and July 2024 are included.Patients with DOR indication, who were administered calcium ionophore(GROUP I/Experimental Group, n:30) and patients who were not administered calcium ionophore (GROUP II/Control Group, n:30) were included. These patients were compared in terms of fertilization, embryo quality and pregnancy rates.Oocytes at the MII stage obtained from patients were subjected to ICSI approximately 4 hours after oocyte retrieval(OPU). After ICSI, the oocytes were incubated in a calcium ionophore solution for 20 minutes and then transferred to culture media. On the following days, fertilization rates, embryo development, and pregnancy statuses were assessed. The results were statistically evaluated using independent samples t-test and chi-square test. Statistical significance was considered as p<0.05 No differences were observed between the two groups in terms of female age, BMI, duration of infertility, AMH, FSH, LH, estradiol, oocyte count, oocyte maturation, and fertilization rate factors.However, the transfer of medium-quality embryos was found to be significantly higher in the DOR group without calcium ionophore application(p=0.035).The number of embryos frozen in Group I was significantly higher compared to Group II (p=0.020) (Table).No significant difference was found between the two groups in terms of clinical pregnancy and ongoing pregnancy rates. Alternative laboratory treatments applied to patients with low ovarian reserve may yield positive results in terms of increasing the likelihood of success. Our study has shown that the application of calcium ionophore in these cases leads to better-quality embryo development and consequently an increased number of frozen embryos. Although no significant difference was observed in clinical pregnancy and ongoing pregnancy rates, increasing the number of patients in the study could yield more definitive results. The purpose of this research was to determine the effects of attachment styles and academic procrastination on subjective well-being in university students. In line with the causal research design, the sample consisted of 733 university students, 513 female and 220 male. The Subjective Well-Being Scale, the Academic Procrastination Scale, the Relationship Scales Questionnaire and a Personal Information Form were used for data collection. Data were subjected to path analysis. The findings from the study show that a preoccupied attachment style has a direct, positive effect on academic procrastination, while academic procrastination has a direct, negative effect on subjective well-being. Besides the output power and pulse frequency, the pulse duration of Er:YAG laser is an important parameter for conditioning the restorative material surface. This study aimed to investigate the effect of six different pulse modes of Er:YAG laser on the repair bond strength of a hybrid ceramic and two resin-based CAD/CAM restorative materials. Twenty-eight specimens (5 × 5 × 4 mm) were prepared for each CAD/CAM block (Lava Ultimate-(LU), Vita Enamic-(VE), and GC Cerasmart-(GCC)) and randomly divided into seven groups. The specimens except the control group were irradiated using Er:YAG laser at 3 W and 20 Hz using quantum square pulse (QSP), super short pulse (SSP), short pulse (SP), medium short pulse (MSP), long pulse (LP), and a very long pulse (VLP). A micro-hybrid resin composite (Filtek Z250, 3 M ESPE, USA) was placed up to 4 mm on each CAD/CAM specimen in two increments. Bar specimens (1 × 1 × 8 mm) were obtained using a cutting device and thermocycled 10,000 times at 5–55 °C. Microtensile bond strength (µTBS) test was performed at a 1 mm/min crosshead speed. Data were statistically analyzed using two-way ANOVA and Tukey's HSD tests (p < 0.05). µTBS was significantly affected by both pulse duration and material type (p < 0.001). Pulse duration and material type showed a statistically significant interaction (p < 0.001). Except for QSP, shorter pulse modes resulted in a higher repair bond strength. VLP mode is not recommended to be used in repair procedures with the materials tested. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
