Abstract

Researchers at the National Institute for Public Health in Morelos, Mexico have conducted a study on the use of interferon-tau (IFN-r) as a potential treatment for resistant triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). The study found that IFN-r demonstrated antiproliferative and apoptosis effects on breast cancer cells, as well as inhibiting tumor growth in a murine tumor model of TNBC. The researchers concluded that IFN-r may be an effective immunotherapeutic cytokine for the treatment of TNBC. The study was supported by the Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnologia (CONACyT).
