The development of cost-efficient pathways is a topic of increasing political and scholarly interest across many North American jurisdictions. It has been suggested that 'seamless' transfer pathways can provide financial savings to both students and taxpayers. However, such claims are typically based on hypothetical cost calculations, as opposed to empirical analysis. Through this study, we model the relationship between student pathways and borrowing behavior in Ontario, Canada – the country's most populous province – using Statistics Canada's novel Education and Labour Market Linkage Platform (ELMLP). Our models produce little evidence that touted transfer pathways systematically reduce either (i) students' propensity to borrow from the Canada Student Loans Program (CSLP), or (ii) the total amount that graduates end up borrowing from the program. While there is extensive literature on the prediction of corporate bankruptcies, there is little literature on the classification of retail borrowers. This is also true in Hungary. Recognising who is at risk of becoming a bad debtor is not easy. There are several ways to analyse the data, which may yield different results. In this paper, my aim is to predict the default of household loans using logistic regression and neural networks. The question is, which method produces the better results? The analyses show that the neural network model produced the best and most favourable results. The accuracy of the best method was found to be 81.5%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The authors analyze the regulation of the reproduction process in the interaction of the real and financial sectors of economy by variations in the cash in circulation and through the investment policy of the state and the consequences of the collapse of the value of securities. The production sphere is shown to unite the production system (production), banking system, market system, rest of the world, and households. It is shown that the regulators of economic reproduction are: the banking system, which provides lending to production and provides the necessary amount and speed of money in the real sector; the financial sector by selling securities for cash and investing in production; the state that pursues an investment policy for the expanded reproduction of productive capital. The reproduction process of the economy of Ukraine is modeled for 2022–2024 by the statistical data of 2020 and 2021. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
