This paper aims to identify the factors that are positively or negatively impacting students' well-being and their academic engagement. We used partial least-squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) using the data collected through a questionnaire from four countries: Romania, Turkey, Slovakia, and Bulgaria. The model includes seven factors that influence the well-being of students and indirectly their academic engagement: stressors in the students' lives; professors' support; social support from family and friends; the students' perceived satisfaction in their lives; engaging in activities during their leisure time; self-exploration regarding their careers; and environmental exploration regarding their careers. The results show that all factors, except for stressors and environmental exploration regarding their careers, positively influence the students' well-being and thus their academic engagement. Working children and adolescents face diverse problems, including long working hours, low pay, lack of quality education/training, unrealistic expectations, workplace hierarchies, and bullying, all of which cause them to be bereaved of leisure opportunities. However, there is a lack of study on this topic. The dominant perception of child labour being mainly an issue of the Global South, a geographically and socially under-represented context, is a significant reason behind the lack of thorough exploration of the leisure capabilities of working children and adolescents. Drawing on qualitative research conducted in Turkey, this paper explores the everyday realities of working children and adolescents in terms of their leisure preferences and capabilities. The study is based on in-depth interviews and focus groups with working children and adolescents aged between 11 and 17. Using the Capabilities Approach as an analytical lens, the paper discusses the ways in which work shrinks the already limited leisure capabilities of the participants. In the face of fatigue and time scarcity, children adapt their leisure preferences to the available leisure cultures. Globally designed shopping spaces constitute a threat to on-street retail, which provides citizens a mix of activity patterns, including shopping, leisure and socializing. Consumers seem to prefer controlled mall environments due to problems in urban centers such as heavy traffic, limited parking, crowding, density and security concerns. The Turkish situation, however, indicates a different trend, with lively inner-city streets co-existing with highly acclaimed shopping malls. This paper addresses changing retail patterns on Tunali Hilmi Street, the first high street in Ankara, which reflects socio-economic and cultural dynamics of the last two decades in urban Turkey. This is a result of organic changes in the street's historical and demographic features as well as in Turkey's broader political and cultural environment. Since the millennium, the street has lost its distinctive quality as well as much of its upper-class clientele. The new visitor profile has been perceived by previous users as an invasion and threat to modern urban life. Recently, immigrants and refugees are starting to be seen on the street due to a nearby immigration office, which has caused further reaction. Although leisure constraints that individuals have to cope with can negatively affect their social inclusion and satisfaction with life, little research has addressed the link between these variables. Therefore, the current paper examined the moderator role of leisure constraints on the relationship between satisfaction with life and leisure constraints among adults living in five different European countries. The respondents were 1,382 women and 877 men adults. The findings of analysis revealed that all factors used in the study accounted for 15% of the variance in satisfaction with life and social inclusion had a significant and positive impact on satisfaction with life. As a result, it can be said that leisure constraints had a moderating effect on the relationship between satisfaction with life and social inclusion. The present research study recommends that social inclusion should be encouraged through decreasing to leisure constraints to increase the life satisfaction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose - This paper examines the effect of the attractive motivational factors of archaeotourism on the intention to participate in archaeotourism. Methodology- The statistical program SmartPLS was used for data analysis. Design- The population consists of tourists who visited Çorum/Turkey, and convenience sampling method was applied. Four hundred and seventy tourists participated in the research between July and August 2022. Findings - Core archeological attractions, historical-cultural knowledge, leisure activities and archeotourism'development of the destination have a positive effect on the intention to participate in archaeotourism. On the other hand, additional archeological attractions and participatory archeological activities do not significantly influence the intention to participate in archaeotourism." Originality of the research - The study includes exceptional variables to demonstrate the impact of attractive motivational factors on the intention to participate in archaeotourism. Furthermore, the statistical analysis provides desirable motivational factors for archaeotourism to determine the intention to visit archaeotourism sites. Thus, the research enables the determination of visitation intention for a destination in the context of archaeotourism and attempts to bridge the gap between tourists' decisions and their visits. By modeling the effects of archaeotourism incentives on tourists' visitation intentions, evidence and knowledge gaps in the literature are also addressed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: To describe positive mental health (PMH) psychological vulnerability (PV) and identify predictors of PMH in higher education students (HES). Design and Methods: A cross‐sectional, predictive study was performed with a convenience sample of 3322 students, using an online questionnaire with sociodemographic information, the PMH Questionnaire, and the PV Scale. Findings: The majority scored a flourishing level, and 67.7% of the participants scored high levels of PV. The Regression Model found a significant predictive variable for PMH. Practice Implications: Gender, age, regular exercise, healthy diet, number of meals per day, and leisure activities are significant positive predictors of PMH. PV is the sole significant negative predictor. Therefore, improving mental health literacy can be a strategy to support HES. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

People come together and create new communities around their special interests. Although the members of these communities, defined as neo-tribes, have highly individualistic, fluid and reflexive identities, they share 'an intense sense of us', in other words, cohesion. This study presents a netnographic examination of two different cycling communities in Turkey to explain the concept of cohesion in neo-tribes. The results of the study indicate that the neo-tribe members express their cohesion under the themes of acting together, entertaining together, collaboration, appreciation, shared values and shared concerns. This study allows for a better understanding of the cycling community and provides important insights to developing cycling for leisure, recreation and tourism purposes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Myths are symbolic structures that influence the way meanings are created and the social world is interpreted. This study aims to understand how myths are sustained by play and focuses on the example of a seasonal ritual, namely Hıdrellez spring celebration, in Turkey. Hıdrellez celebration is a leisure activity characterized by festive events, rituals, and social practices. It also relates to human knowledge and practice concerning nature and the universe. The study adopts a qualitative research design based on interviews, as this is an exploratory study. The findings reveal that plays contributes to the continuation of myths via performances, leisure communities, embodiment, and fun. However, it is also evident that the sacred rituals of Hıdrellez are being commodified by the entertainment businesses in urban settings. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
