This paper presents the zonal geochemistry and elasticity characteristics of gallium- and lithium-rich No. 6 coalbed in the Haerwusu mine and discusses interpretation methodologies of coal-hosted gallium and lithium resources using lab-measured samples and field-measured wireline logs. The results demonstrate that both coal-composition-based and elastic-parameter-based classifications yield similar results, categorizing the coalbed into subzones related to coal quality. Material compositions, elastic properties, critical metals, and host minerals exhibit zonal distribution characteristics within the ultrathick No. 6 coalbed. Three-class classifications significantly enhance correlations among host minerals, elastic parameters, and critical metals, albeit with differing trends among classes. In classes II and III (ultralow- and low-ash-yield coals), boehmite and kaolinite primarily host gallium and lithium, respectively. In class I (medium-ash-yield coal), gallium is associated with kaolinite, while lithium lacks specific mineral associations. Constrained by wireline logs, a rock physics modeling strategy is proposed to link mesoscale coal compositions to macroscale elastic responses. Moreover, explicit correlations between host minerals and critical metals are established, connecting macroscale elastic responses to microscale gallium and lithium enrichments and exploring interpretation methods of coal-hosted critical metals. Preferred lithium interpretation methods include compositional ternary plots and elastic parameter cross plots, while preferred gallium interpretation methods involve boehmite-gallium and elastic parameter-gallium fitting. These findings may contribute to understanding the enrichment mechanisms and interpretation technologies of coal-hosted critical metals in ultrathick low-rank coalbeds. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Spent hazardous selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalysts are both wastes and secondary resources. The harmless disposal and value-added utilization are necessary. In this paper, we propose a green route to sustainable reutilize vanadium from hazardous wastes as vanadium dioxide (VO 2) cathodes for aqueous zinc ion batteries. The valence tuning from V5+, V4+, and V3+ in spent catalysts to V4+ in leaching solution has been realized by reduction acid leaching to ensure the complete recycle. The leaching rate of vanadium is 93.6%, and the vanadium content in the slag phase is less than 0.04%. Most V and few Fe and Al are extracted by P204 in organic phase, then diluted sulfuric acid is used for stepwise stripping from mixed V, Fe, and Al solution. Then high-purity (99.9%) vanadyl sulfate (VOSO 4) solution is obtained after extraction and purification, which is used for the preparation of VO 2 materials The assembled batteries by prepared VO 2 exhibited a discharge capacity of 204.6 mA h g−1 at the first five cycles, and 172.5 mA h g−1 after 100 cycles at 0.1 A g−1. The capacity retention rate is 84.31% after 100 cycles. The mechanism and environmental analysis of greenhouse gas emission of reduction acid leaching are discussed, which reduces carbon emissions by 89.50% compared with routine acid leaching. Moreover, the phase transformation, metal element flow as well as species evolution are described for the deep understanding of valence tuning at molecular level. Antimony is widely acknowledged as a critical raw material of worldwide significance, based on its recognition by many countries. According to current projections, there is an anticipated increase in the demand for antimony in the forthcoming years. An issue of significant concern within the supply chain, which poses a substantial obstacle to sustainable development, is the global unequal allocation of abundant antimony resources. Most nations exhibited a high degree of dependence on a few countries for their net imports of antimony, resulting in a notable disruption and raising concerns regarding the supply chain. In most countries, antimony exploration and exploitation have been paused for a long period due to financial constraints associated with operations and environmental concerns. Nowadays, identifying additional antimony reserves, particularly in countries that heavily rely on new technologies and use significant amounts of antimony, is imperative and presents a pressing endeavor. Greece is recognized as one of the European Union member states with identified antimony deposits and a historical record of antimony exploitation. A thorough description, examination, and re-assessment of all existing data on the deposits and occurrences of antimony in Greece is presented. Most of Greece's antimony deposits are related to hydrothermal processes, controlled by specific tectonic structures, and associated with Cenozoic magmatism. They are classified either as simple Sb-deposits, where the primary ore is a stibnite mineral, or complex polymetallic deposits with varying contents that include antimony minerals. Considering that the development of science and technology depends on metal support, the EU, USA, and China have issued a critical metal list on the development report. However, the scarce and important mineral deposits on a global scale will not be enough to meet the huge needs of economic development in the future. Many fields such as renewable energy, high-performance computing, and AI all require critical metals as essential supports. A proper price regulation of such important metals will contribute to the fair price power on the international market. In this paper, the pricing history and strategy of critical metal support are fully studied and discussed.
