In this work, we report on five novel coordination polymers (CPs) based on the linkage of the [Cd(6apic)2] building block [where 6apic = 6-aminopicolinate] by different bipyridine-type organic spacers, forming different coordination compounds with the following formulae: [Cd(μ-6apic)2]n (1), {[Cd(6apic)2(μ-bipy)]·H2O}n (2), {[Cd(6apic)2(μ-bpe)]·2H2O}n (3), [Cd(6apic)(μ-6apic)(μ-bpa)0.5]n (4) and {[Cd2(6apic)4(μ-tmbp)]·7H2O}n (5) [where bipy = 4,4′-bipyridine, bpe = 1,2-di(4-pyridyl)ethylene, bpa = 1,2-di(4-pyridyl)ethane (bpa) and tmbp = 1,3-di(4-pyridyl)propane]. Most of the synthesized compounds form infinite metal–organic rods through the linkage of the building block by the bipyridine-type linker, except in the case of compound 4 whose assembly forms a densely packed 3D architecture. All compounds were fully characterized and their photoluminescence properties were studied experimentally and computationally through density functional theory (DFT) calculations. All compounds display, upon UV excitation, a similar blue emission of variable intensity depending on the linker employed for the connection of the building units, among which compound 2 deserves to be highlighted for its room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) with an emission lifetime of 32 ms that extends to 79 ms at low temperature. These good photoluminescence properties, in addition to its stability in water over a wide pH range (between 2 and 10), motivated us to study compound 2 as a sensor for the detection of metal ions in water, and it showed high sensitivity to Fe3+ through a fluorescence turn-off mechanism and an unspecific turn-on response to Zn2+. Furthermore, the compound is processed as a paper-based analytical device (PAD) in which the phosphorescence emission is preserved, improving the sensing capacity toward Fe3+ ions. Long-term excessive uptake of fluoride through potable water will cause adverse effects on human health. Therefore, it is of great significance to detect and remove excessive fluoride in potable water. Here, we reported a multi-functional Zr-based coordination polymer namely CP-1, which could realize the visual detection and effectively selective adsorption of fluoride. The investigation of fluoride adsorption manifested that the maximum fluoride adsorption capacity of CP-1 could reach 48.78 mg g−1 and selective adsorption capacity kept stable in a wide range of pH. By fluorometric approaches, the detection of limit of F− could achieve 1.55 × 10–6 mol L−1 based on CP-1. Moreover, the fluorescence test paper fabricated by in situ growth of CP-1 onto the surface of filter paper was proved to realize the visual detection of fluoride. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The combination of electron-deficient viologen ligands with electron-rich POMs is a typical acceptor–donor system that has recently received much attention. Under solvothermal and hydrothermal conditions, by introducing three symmetric viologen ligands into POM-based hybrid materials, we successfully constructed four POMs–viologen inorganic–organic hybrid compounds, namely (1,3-bcbpy)2·(δ-Mo8O26) (1) (1,3-bcbpy·2Cl = 1,1′-bis(3-carboxybenzyl)-4,4′-bipyridine dichloride), {CoII(1,4-bcbpy)2(H2O)2[H2(β-Mo8O26)]}·2H2O·2CH2O (2), (1,4-bcbpy)2·(δ-Mo8O26)·2H2O (3) (1,4-bcbpy·2Cl = 1,1′-bis(4-carboxybenzyl)-4,4′-bipyridine dichloride, CH2O = formaldehyde), and {CuII(1,1-pmbby)2(H2O)[H2(β-Mo8O26)2]}·5H2O·C2H7N (4) (1,1-pmbby·2Cl = 1,1′-[1,4-phenylbis(methylene)]bis-(4,4′-bipyridine)dichloride, C2H7N = dimethylamine). These four compounds exhibit different fascinating structures, especially compound 4 is a typical metal–organic framework. Compounds 1–4 exhibit good discoloration behaviors under various external stimuli. For example, compounds 1–4 showed a positive response to the irradiation from a 300 W Xe lamp. When a positive voltage was applied to the ECD based on compounds 1–4, 1/2/3/4-ECD underwent a significant color conversion. What's more, compound 4 also showed obvious discoloration results after heating. In a word, 1–4 are multifunctional discoloration materials under different external stimuli. In addition, the coated filter paper prepared based on compound 3 can be used as a new printing material medium and can be successfully applied in erasable inkless printing and dual anti-counterfeiting. Cellulosic paper-based electrode materials have attracted increasing attention in the field of flexible supercapacitor. As a conductive polymer, polyaniline exhibits high theoretical pseudocapacitive capacitance and has been applied in paper-based electrode materials along with cellulose fibers. However, the stacking of polyaniline usually leads to poor performance of electrodes. In this study, metal-organic coordination polymers of zirconium-alizarin red S and zirconium-phytic acid are applied to modulate the polyaniline layer to obtain high-performance cellulosic paper-based electrode materials. Zirconium hydroxide is firstly loaded on cellulose fibers while alizarin red S and phytic acid are introduced to regulate the morphology of polyaniline through doping and coordination processes. The results show that the introduction of dual coordination polymers is effective to regulate the morphology of polyaniline on cellulose fibers. The performances of the paper-based electrode materials, including electrical conductivity and electrochemistry, are apparently improved. In the present study, a novel interdigitated coordination polymer (CP) [Zn(cit)(4‐nvp)]n (1) is synthesized using citraconic acid (H2cit) and 4‐(1‐naphthylvinyl)pyridine (4‐nvp) mixed ligands. The efficient dipolar interactions between CP and polar solvents cause the observed redshift in emission spectra and rationalize the positive solvatochromism effect with increased Stokes shift (Δδ) from 5643 to 8547 cm−1 on going from less‐polar to more‐polar solvents. Supramolecular assembly of CP acts as a selective optical sensor toward Pd(II) even in the presence of other relevant contending metal ions in water. Inspired from the solution‐phase sensor activity, the CP is further employed for an on‐site and ecologically green contact mode detection of Pd(II) from water upon readily fabricating cost‐effective and portable thin film via simply drop‐casting aqueous suspension of material (1 mm) on filter paper. Interestingly, the compound exhibits the rare mechanochromic behavior upon external pressure. Hence, the synthesized CP reveals sensing activity in diverse way; in one hand, it demonstrates solvatochromism and, in other hand, it unveils mechanochromism accompanied by the detection of Pd(II) in aqueous medium. Lanthanide coordination polymer nanoparticles (LML-Eu3+-GMP CPNPs) were fabricated as a ratiometric fluorescence sensor for real-time and visual assays of tetracycline (TC). The LML-Eu3+-GMP CPNPs were prepared by spontaneous self-assembly of Eu3+, luminol (LML) and guanosine 5′-monophosphate (GMP) at room temperature, which only emitted blue fluorescence dominated by LML, and no red characteristic fluorescence of Eu3+ was observed. In the presence of TC, TC can trigger the antenna effect (AE) and inner filter effect (IFE), the blue fluorescence of LML-Eu3+-GMP CPNPs is quenched by TC via IFE, and the red characteristic fluorescence of Eu3+ can be turned on through AE. When sodium citrate (Cit) is added to the sensing system, it can further enhance the red fluorescence of Eu3+. The dual-ligand CPNP sensor has a rapid fluorescence response, noticeable fluorescence color change, good selectivity, and high sensitivity with a detection limit of 3.4 nM. It was successfully applied to detect TC in honey, milk, lake water and tap water. Meanwhile, the portable smartphone and test paper were applied to develop POCT devices for real-time and visual detection of TC, which could offer a promising application for real-time and semiquantitative assays of TC. A novel 3D Zn-based coordination polymer (NH 2 -LCU-110 , LCU names Liaocheng University) with the formula [Zn(L1)(bpea) n (H 2 L1 ​= ​2-aminoterephthalic acid, bpea ​= ​1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane), was hydrothermally synthesized from a flexible nitrogen-containing carboxylic acid ligand with various coordination modes as main ligands and nitrogen-containing auxiliary ligand with different structures. NH 2 -LCU-110 demonstrates an interesting 5-fold interpenetrating diamond structure. Luminescence measurements reveal that this complex has obvious emission enhancement and quenching towards Al3+ and Cu2+, respectively. The mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) incorporating NH 2 -LCU-110 and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) as well as simple test papers were both prepared for potential application. The MMMs can quickly detect Al3+ and Cu2+ and the original emission could be regenerated by lifting from the analytical solutions, demonstrating its fast response and good selectivity. The sensing mechanism was investigated in details by various measurements and compared with isostructural complex LCU-110 without –NH 2 groups. All observations indicate that introduction of Lewis basic –NH 2 groups can enhance the intermolecular interactions between the frameworks of coordination polymers and sensing analytes (Al3+ and Cu2+). A novel multifunctional coordination polymer {[Zn(HCOO) (bcbpy)Cl]·H 2 O} n (1) with multiple colour-changing has been synthesized from Zn(NO 3) 2 ·6H 2 O, and viologen ligand 1,1′-bis-((3-carboxylatobenzyl)-4,4′-bipyridinium) dichloride (H 2 bcbpy·2Cl). In coordination polymer (CP) 1 , bcbpy ligands bridge Zn2+ cations to form a 1D wave-like chain. CP 1 exhibited photochromic properties under xenon lamp and blue light irradiation while obtaining a structurally stable light product 1T. CP 1 thermochromic properties can also be observed during heating. 1 showed photo-controlled fluorescence properties during color rendering and decolorization, and its properties were studied. Interestingly, CP 1 can be deposited in filter paper by coating it with a solution of H 2 O. The filter paper can be used as a printing medium without ink. This paper investigates the synthesis, crystal structure, thermal properties, and energetic performance of two 1D coordination polymers (CPs). The CPs, namely, [Zn(atrz)(DNBA)2(H2O)2]n (1) and [Cd(atrz)(DNBA)2(H2O)2]n (2), were designed and synthesized based on the nitrogen-rich ligand 4,4′-azobis-1,2,4-triazole (atrz) and 3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid (HDNBA) via a mixed ligand strategy using a simple and environment-friendly method. The CPs were characterized by various spectroscopic and analytical techniques along with single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD). SCXRD analysis reveals a distorted octahedral geometry around the metal ions (Zn/Cd), leading to the formation of a 1D coordination polymer while constructing a 2D structural framework through intermolecular hydrogen bonding. Both the CPs exhibit similar thermal stability but considerably differ in their heat of formation values (1 = −894.43, 2 = 1635.93 kJ mol−1). CP 2 has higher detonation velocity (7.24 km s−1) and pressure (23.67 GPa) compared to 1 (detonation velocity: 6.28 km s−1, detonation pressure: 17.57 GPa) owing to its higher heat of formation and density. Both the CPs exhibit ideal insensitivity to friction and impact stimuli, ensuring their safety during transportation and processing. The value of average activation energy obtained from isoconversion ASTM E698 for 1 and 2 was reported to be 143.8 and 168.0 kJ mol−1, respectively. This study explores the development of energetic CPs through the mixed ligand strategy based on the atrz ligand and incorporating HDNBA as the co-ligand to reduce the sensitivity while maintaining the comparable energetic performance of previously reported atrz-based complexes. In this paper, we report a two-dimensional (2D) Hofmann-type spin-crossover coordination polymer [FeII(o-NTrz)2PtII(CN)4]·H2O (o-NTrz = 4-(o-nitrobenzyl)imino-1,2,4-triazole). Due to the remarkable configurational flexibility of triazole-based ligand, the porous structure of this compound can be reversibly regulated by the loss of guest water molecules as a consequence of rotation of o-NTrz. Urease may rapidly hydrolyze urea, causing a significant amount of ammonia to be released and decreasing the efficacy of urea fertilizers. However, urease inhibitors (UIs) can prevent the interaction between urease and urea, allowing crops to absorb ammonium nitrogen for an extended period of time. In this paper, by using different O-donor second auxiliary ligands, we have designed and synthesized two Cu-based coordination polymers (Cu-CPs) to operate as UIs by combining two aromatic carboxylic acids and a bis-pyridine-bis-amide ligand, which show excellent urease inhibitory activity. Cu-CP-1 has an obvious inhibitory effect on the inhibitory activity against jack bean urease, with the IC50 of 1 being 0.83 ± 0.01 μM while the IC50 value for Cu-CP-2 was 2.53 ± 0.01 μM, respectively. Furthermore, inhibitory activity against urease, kinetics, molecular docking, and comparisons of the title Cu-CPs and other complex-based materials have been comprehensively investigated. More importantly, the bridging atoms of μ2-OH and μ2-Cl play important roles in urease inhibition activity. The micro-occurrence characterization of shale oil is a key geological issue that restricts the effective development of continental shale oil in China. In order to make up for the lack of research in this area, this paper carries out a series of experiments on the shale oil of the Lucaogou Formation using a multi-step extraction method, with the aim of exploring the micro-occurrence types and mechanisms of shale oil in the Lucaogou Formation, as well as exploring its direct connection with production and development. In this paper, shale oil in the reservoir is divided into two categories: free oil and residual oil. The polar substances and OSN compounds are the key factors determining the occurrence state of shale oil. Abundant polar substances and OSN compounds can preferentially react with mineral surfaces (including coordination, complexation, ionic exchange, and so on) to form a stable adsorption layer, making it difficult to extract residual oil in actual exploitation. Free oil is mainly composed of aliphatic hydrocarbons, and its adsorption capacity is related to the length of the carbon chain, i.e. long carbon chain, strong adsorption capacity, and poor movability. Free oil is widely stored in pores and cracks, and that with high mobility can be the most easily extracted, making it the main target at present exploitation. In the current state of drilling and fracturing technology, research should prioritize understanding the adsorption and desorption mechanisms of crude oil, particularly residual oil. This will help optimize exploitation programs, such as carbon dioxide fracturing and displacement, to enhance shale oil production. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

[Display omitted] Two novel luminescent MOFs, namely, {[Zn 2 (TCA)(BPPB)(DMA)(OH)]·2DMA} n (DZU-115) and [Zn(HTCA)(BPPB) 0.5 (DMA)] n (DZU-116), have been successfully synthesized. These MOFs were crafted using a combination of 4,4′,4″-tricarboxytriphenylamine (H 3 TCA) and 4,4′-(9,10-anthracenediyl)bis-pyridine (BPPB) as mixed ligands, with solvent modulation as the method of choice. Among them, DZU-115 stands out due to its captivating dual interpenetrating structure. This structure enables DZU-115 to exhibit a unique fluorescence response when stimulated by DMF, which can be visually observed as a change in fluorescence color on filter paper. Two new luminescent MOFs, namely, {[Zn 2 (TCA)(BPPB)(DMA)(OH)]·2DMA} n (DZU-115), [Zn(HTCA)(BPPB) 0.5 (DMA)] n (DZU-116. DZU, H 3 TCA, BPPB is short for Dezhou University, 4,4′,4″-tricarboxyltriphenylamine and 4,4′-(9,10-anthracenediyl)bis-Pyridine, respectively), were successfully synthesized by solvent adjustment and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. DZU-115 shows a fascinating three dimensional (3D) framework derived from the interlocking of 2D coordination dual-layers, while DZU-116 displays a different 2D layer structure. Due to the interpenetrated structure of DZU-115 that is in favor of the formation of interaction between the host frameworks and DMF molecules, a luminescent color transition from yellow-green to light orange has been found in DZU-115 when exposing the MOF to DMF solvent. Moreover, the DZU-115-based filter paper was also prepared, which is capable of producing visual changes in fluorescent color to identify DMF vapor. Remarkably, the color variation is highly reversible and the light orange color could be further converted back into yellow-green by immersing the material in DMA solvent again. Such a reversible stimuli-response behavior with the apparent luminescence color change indicates the potential application of the MOF as a recognition platform for DMF molecules. This study provides valuable insight into optimizing the performance of MOF by tuning the framework structures, and offers a promising avenue for the development of vapor molecule recognition materials. This paper presents an extensive review of the most effective and modern monitoring methods for electrical power lines, with particular attention to high-voltage (HV) and medium-voltage (MV) systems. From a general point of view, the main objective of these techniques is to prevent catastrophic failures by detecting the partial damage or deterioration of components and allowing maintenance operations to be organized. In fact, the protection devices commonly used in transmission and distribution networks guarantee the location of faults, such as short-circuits, putting the non-functioning branch of the network out of service. Nowadays, alongside these devices, it is possible to introduce new intelligent algorithms capable of avoiding the total loss of functionality, thus improving the reliability of the entire network. This is one of the main challenges in modern smart grids, which are characterized by the massive integration of renewable energy sources and a high level of complexity. Therefore, in the first part of this paper, a general overview of the most common protection devices is proposed, followed by an analysis of the most modern prevention algorithms. In the first case, the coordination of the relays plays a fundamental role in obtaining the fault location with a high level of selectivity, while in the field of preventive analysis, it is necessary to address the implementation of artificial intelligence methods. The techniques presented in this paper provide a comprehensive description of the different monitoring approaches currently used in distribution and transmission lines, highlighting the coordination of protection relays, the computational algorithms capable of preventing failures, and the influence of the distributed generation in their management. Therefore, this paper offers an overview of the main diagnostic techniques and protection devices, highlights the critical issues that can be overcome through the introduction of artificial intelligence, and describes the main prognostic methods, focusing on their invasive level and the possibility of operating directly online.
