The main aim of this study is to examine the buckling behavior of a composite material that has both magnetostrictive capabilities and functionally graded facesheets. The effective material parameters of the functionally graded layer are determined using the power-law model. Eringen's nonlocal theory has been used for the quantification of the small-scale parameter. In contrast, the suggested system is based on the theoretical framework established by Winkler and Pasternak, which incorporates the analysis of an elastic medium. The use of higher-order sinusoidal shear deformation theory has been employed to derive the governing equation. This governing equation is then solved analytically using the Galerkin solution method, considering various boundary conditions. In order to assess the precision and effectiveness of the ongoing inquiry, the findings are juxtaposed with the existing literature articles. Furthermore, this study examines the impact of many factors, including aspect ratio, velocity feedback gain, and foundation, on the critical buckling load. The findings of the present research indicate that there is a positive correlation between the porosity volume parameter and the buckling load of the structure. The current study aims to provide engineers and designers with a better understanding and predictive capability about buckling response. The functionalization of graphene aims at altering its material properties to encourage its use in various new applications. In the present research, an investigation on a functionalized graphene oxide (FGO) reinforced nanocomposite (NC) plate is performed once the plate is subjected to thermal loading. The reinforcement of the plate is done with multiple functionally graded (FG) distributions through the thickness, specifically, uniform (U), X, V, and O. This action is for the purpose of finding the most effective distributional strategy for functionalized graphene oxide with ameliorated vibrational characteristics. Also, the Winkler–Pasternak elastic substrate serves as the support for the plate construction. To describe the mechanical properties of the FG nanocomposite plate, the Halpin–Tsai model is employed and a more advanced higher order shear deformation model is used to take the impact of shear deformation into account. Next, Hamilton's principle is utilized to derive the governing equations of the plate structure. These governing equations are then solved for a simply supported functionalized graphene oxide-reinforced nanocomposite plate. Ensuing, several parametric studies are presented to better delineate the impact of numerous variants including FGO's weight fraction, distribution patterns, temperature raise, elastic substrate coefficients, and geometrical properties on the nanocomposite plates' fundamental frequency. Results of our study indicate that raising the temperature and aspect ratio can decrease the natural frequency of FGO-reinforced NC plates, while increase in the FGO's weight fraction and elastic foundation does the opposite. This work is an attempt to examine the wave propagation of thermally loaded graphene platelets (GPL)s reinforced nanocomposite plates. Particularly, an analytical approach is made to determine the extent of wave dispersion in functionally graded nanocomposite plates reinforced with graphene platelets (GPL)s when thermal loading is added to the structure. Along with thermal loading, the plate structure is rested on an elastic foundation to derive a more realistic outcome. Variety of thermal loads with different temperature rises have been studies in the present research; these loads include: uniform temperature rise (UTR), sinusoidal temperature rise (STR), and linear temperature rise (LTR). Moreover, the nanocomposite (NC) plate is rested on a Winkler–Pasternak elastic foundation. GPL particles are dispersed in the polymer base along the thickness of the plate in four differing distribution patterns. Furthermore, Hamilton's principle along with refined higher-order plate theory is utilized to derive the governing equations of the problem. Afterwards, these differential equations are solved in an analytical format to attain the wave frequency, as well as, the phase velocity of GPL-reinforced NC plate. Before, assessing the impact of numerous parameters on the wave propagation characteristics of GPL-reinforced NC plate, our analytical model had been validated with previous studies. Results of this study indicates that the wave dispersion of NC plates reinforced with GPLs is heavily depended on parameters such as GPL distribution pattern, thermal loading type, GPL weight fraction and so on. In the present study, the free vibration of functionally graded graphene platelet‐reinforced (FG‐GPLs) and functionally graded carbon nanotube‐reinforced (FG‐CNTs) hybrid laminated nanocomposite truncated conical shells and panels are analyzed. Multi‐layers truncated conical shell and panel of pure FG‐CNTs, pure FG‐GPLs and hybrid CNTs‐GPLs reinforcement were evaluated. In light of its high accuracy in the calculation of thin and thick shells, a third‐order shear deformation theory is adopted. The governing equations and boundary conditions is derived using Hamilton's principle and is solved numerically using the systematic differential quadrature method (DQM) which uses Kronecker delta function. The effective mechanical properties of the CNT‐reinforced nanocomposite layers are estimated using the rule of mixtures, whereas those of the GPL‐reinforced nanocomposite layers is calculated using the Halpin‐Tsai micromechanical model. Convergence and accuracy evaluation of the presented study are confirmed and a number of parameters, including the CNTS volume fraction, GPLs mass fraction, distribution patterns (i.e., Uniform distribution (UD), Functionally graded O‐distribution (FG‐O), Functionally graded X‐distribution (FG‐X), Functionally graded V‐distribution (FG‐V) and FG‐A), different boundary conditions and the vertex angle of the cone, are investigated. The results obtained in this article for the combination of two different materials, GPLs and CNTs, showed that in controlling the natural frequency of the system, without changing the percentage of fiber and only by changing the arrangement, very wonderful results can be achieved. In this paper, wave propagation in multi-scale hybrid glass fiber (GF)/carbon nanotube (CNT)/polymer nanocomposite plates is studied for the first time by means of refined higher-order plate theory. The hybrid nanocomposite consists of CNTs and glass fibers (GF) as reinforcing components distributed within a polymeric matrix. A hierarchical micromechanical approach is used to predict the effective mechanical properties of the hybrid nanocomposite, including the three-dimensional (3D) Mori-Tanaka method and the rule of mixture. Moreover, a refined-type higher-order shear deformation theory (HSDT) is implemented to take into account the influence of the shear deformation on the motion equations of the system. Then, the governing equations are achieved on the basis of the energy-based Hamilton's principle. Finally, the derived equations will be solved analytically for the purpose of extracting the natural frequency of the continuous system. A set of numerical examples are provided to cover the effects of various parameters on the wave dispersion characteristics of the plate. It can be declared that the hybrid nanocomposite system can achieve higher wave frequencies compared with other types of composite structures. Additionally, it is found that the selection of the lay-ups and length-to-diameter ratio plays a significant role in the determination of the sandwich plate's acoustic response. This paper aims to investigate the wave propagation analysis of multi-scale hybrid nanocomposite plates by considering the influences of the aggregation of the nanoparticles. For the constituent materials of the plate, a polymeric matrix is supposed to have macro- and nano-reinforcements dispersed in it. The well-known micromechanical methods, such as Eshelby-Mori-Tanaka model and the rule of the mixture, are exerted to compute the effective material properties of the nanocomposite plate. Also, a refined higher-order shear deformation theory is implemented to obtain the motion relations. Besides, the governing equations are derived by employing the principle of Hamilton. Then, the analytic method is used to solve the obtained governing equations of structure and finally wave frequency and phase velocity are calculated. The effects of the various parameters on the variation of phase velocity and wave frequency of the multi-scale nanocomposite plates are examined. An analytical approach is developed in this paper to investigate the wave propagating in graphene oxide powder (GOP) reinforced nanocomposite plates under thermal loading. The plate is embedded on a two parameter elastic substrate to make this research more realistic. The structure is exposed to thermal loadings with various temperature rises such as sinusoidal temperature rise (STR), linear temperature rise (LTR) and uniform temperature rise (UTR). The governing differential equations are derived via incorporation of the Hamilton's principle and refined higher order plate theory then solved analytically to obtain the wave frequency and phase velocity of the GOP reinforced nanocomposite plate. The GOPs are dispersed in a polymeric matrix through the thickness of the plate by considering different functionally graded (FG) patterns. Moreover, the effective material properties of the structure are predicted on the basis of Halpin–Tsai micromechanical scheme. Furthermore, the accuracy of the present model is verified with previous works and also the influences of various parameters on the wave propagation behavior of the structure are covered too. In this paper, a sandwich composite plate with tunable magneto-rheological (MR) fluid core is utilized for analyzing the wave propagation. Sandwich composite plate is made of three layers consisting of the base layer, MR layer and the limiter layer. MR layer is embedded within the base and the limiter layers. Moreover, the upper and the lower layers are made of the elastic materials. This structure is also located on a viscoelastic substrate. At first, for achieving the governing equations of motion, Hamilton's principle and classical plate theory (CLPT) are utilized. Then, exerting an analytical solution, the wave frequency and phase velocity of the propagated waves can be gained by solving eigenvalue problem. By investigating the effect of the magnetic field, the results emphasize that the magnetic field intensity is most important factor for changing the value of the wave dispersion characteristic. Besides, results indicate by enhancing the core-to-top layer thickness ratio, the wave frequency decreases because MR fluid core is softer in comparison to the elastic layers, Hence, MR fluid core operates similar damper. In this article, thermal buckling and frequency analysis of a size-dependent laminated composite cylindrical nanoshell in thermal environment using nonlocal strain–stress gradient theory are presented. The thermodynamic equations of the laminated cylindrical nanoshell are based on first-order shear deformation theory, and generalized differential quadrature element method is implemented to solve these equations and obtain natural frequency and critical temperature of the presented model. The results show that by considering C–F boundary conditions and every even layers' number, in lower value of length scale parameter, by increasing the length scale parameter, the frequency of the structure decreases but in higher value of length scale parameter this matter is inverse. Finally, influences of temperature difference, ply angle, length scale and nonlocal parameters on the critical temperature and frequency of the laminated composite nanostructure are investigated.
