11. Research on Reliability Test Cycle of Drive Motor System Based on User Model

Abstract

To address the issues in reliability bench tests for drive motor system of electric vehicle, particularly low correlation between reliability test conditions and real-world user driving scenarios, as well as non-equivalence in damage effects, a method for constructing reliability test cycles based on user driving models is proposed. Firstly, driving scenarios are analyzed and actual driving characteristics of users are identified by utilizing big data from real-world driving. Secondly, K-means clustering analysis is conducted to establish typical operating conditions, from which segments with unit damage intensity ranging from the 95th percentile to the 99th percentile are selected into an alternative library. Finally, reliability test cycles are constructed through a genetic algorithm and Markov process. The results of damage analysis show that the operating conditions constructed for reliability test maintain the typical driving characteristics of users and demonstrate a good acceleration test effect. When the motor product is continuously loaded on the test bench for 1625.7h and 1302.1h respectively, the shafting and gear train are considered achieving the users' damage expectation, equivalent to a whole life cycle of 300,000 km.

Abstract

The addition of rubber powder (RP) to natural rubber (NR) matrix using the dry mixing method leads to uneven distribution and poor interface bonding while the wet mixing method is not feasible due to the hydrophobic nature of the RP surface. To address this issue, we developed a method for producing RP with weakened hydrophobicity on the surface by high‐pressure waterjet and successfully achieved even distribution of the waterjet‐produced rubber powders (WPRPs) in NR and strong interface adhesion between WPRPs and NR by the wet mixing method. The properties of NR/WPRP composites were tested and characterized carefully. When adding 6 phr of 140‐mesh WPRPs in the NR matrix, the tensile strength and elongation at break of the NR/WPRP composites were 30.2 MPa and 627.2%, respectively, which were 4% and 7% higher than NR without WPRPs. Moreover, the anti‐abrasion property of the NR/WPRP composite was also strengthened by the addition of WPRPs. Our findings demonstrate that recycling waste rubber through a reasonable recycling method can not only reduce material waste and alleviate environmental pollution but also enhance the performance of the raw rubber, which offers significant economic benefits. 44. Tailoring pyrene excimer luminescence via controlled sulfur oxidation.

Abstract

To facilitate the formation of efficient fluorescent pyrene excimers in solids, sulfide-, sulfoxide-, and sulfone-substituted pyrenes (Py–S, Py–SO, and Py–SOO) showing different oxidation degrees were designed and synthesized. All molecules possess side groups oriented perpendicular to the pyrene plane, which promote the formation of an antiparallelly stacked π–π pyrene dimer and the resulting excimer. Analysis of the photophysical properties measured in solutions, crystals, and films reveals that the resulting excimer species for these three molecules have similar emission wavelengths. However, the excimer of Py–SOO demonstrates the highest photoluminescence quantum efficiency due to molecular rigidity of its crystal and evaporated film. Non-doped organic light-emitting diodes were fabricated using these materials as emitters, and Py–SOO exhibits the best electroluminescence performance with a stable excimer emission, an external quantum efficiency of 2.53%, and a maximum luminance of 21 428 cd m−2. These findings show that the introduction of a sulfone group can improve the luminescence efficiency of the pyrene-based excimers and present a valuable guideline for designing high-performance solid-state pyrene excimers. Abstract

Recycling flexible polyurethane foam (F-PUF) scraps is difficult due to the material's high cross-linking structure. In this work, a wedge-block-reinforced extruder with a considerable enhanced shear extrusion and stretching area between the rotating screw and the stationary wedge blocks was utilized to recycle F-PUF scraps into powder containing surface-active hydroxyl groups. The powder was then utilized for the quantitative replacement of polyol in the foaming process. Characterizations showed that the continuous shear extrusion and stretching during the extrusion process reduced the volume mean diameter (VMD) of the F-PUF powder obtained by extruding it three times at room temperature to reach 54 μm. The -OH number (OHN) of the powder prepared by extruding it three times reached 19.51 mgKOH/g due to the mechanochemical effect of the powdering method. The F-PUF containing recycled powder used to quantitively replace 10 wt.% polyol was similar in microstructure and chemical structure to the original F-PUF, with a compression set of 2%, indentation load deflection of 21.3 lbf, resilience of 43.4%, air permeability of 815.7 L/m2·s, tensile strength of 73.0 Kpa, and tear strength of 2.3 N/cm, indicating that the recycling method has potential for industrial applications. Abstract

Developing materials with dynamic room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) properties is crucial for expanding the applications of organic light-emitting materials. In this study, we designed and synthesized two novel RTP molecules by combining functional units, incorporating the folded unit thianthrene into the classic luminescent cores thioxanthone or anthraquinone to construct TASO and TA2O. In this combination, the TA unit contributes to the enhancement of spin–orbit coupling (SOC), while the luminescent core governs the triplet energy level. After the strategic manipulation of SOC using the thianthrene unit, the target molecules exhibited a remarkable enhancement in RTP performance. This strategy led to the successful development of TASO and TA2O molecules with outstanding dynamic RTP properties when exposed to continuous ultraviolet irradiation, a result that can be ascribed to their efficient RTP, improved absorption ability, and oxygen-sensitive RTP properties. Leveraging the oxygen-mediated ultraviolet-radiation-induced RTP enhancement in TASO-doped polymer films, we developed a novel time-resolved detection technique for identifying phase separation in polymers with varying oxygen permeability. Abstract

Typical lubricants behave in a non-Newtonian manner under conditions of high shear and high pressure, as is commonly observed in lubricated rolling/sliding contacts. To optimize and predict the friction therein, knowledge of the high-pressure rheological behaviors of lubricants and limiting shear stress (LSS) is essential. This study developed an approach for determining the LSS of lubricants based on friction mapping of rolling/sliding contacts, using a ball-on-disc traction machine. The main contribution lies in the introduction of a practical approach for the selection of a proper entrainment velocity for determining the LSS, with reduced thermal influences and near isothermal conditions. The proposed approach enables full film lubrication, while keeping the film as thin as possible to prevent excessive shear heating and, thus, thermal effects. The LSS of two lubricants, PAO40 and complex ester, has been measured at pressures ranging from 1.2 GPa to 1.7 GPa. A bilinear model has been used to describe the variation of LSS with pressure. 50. Preparation and characterization of a novel composite acellular matrix/hyaluronic acid thermosensitive hydrogel for interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome.

Abstract

Bladder mucosa damage that causes harm to the interstitium is a recognized pathogenesis of interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS). The intravesical instillation of drugs is an important second‐line therapy, but it is often necessary to use drugs repeatedly in the clinic because of their short residence time in the bladder cavity, which alters the therapeutic effect. To overcome this drawback, this study developed a novel composite acellular matrix/hyaluronic acid (HA) thermosensitive hydrogel (HA‐Gel) using rabbit small intestinal submucosa extracellular matrix (ECM) as the thermosensitive material and HA as the drug component and examined its composition, microstructure, thermodynamic properties, temperature sensitivity, rheological properties, biocompatibility, drug release, hydrogel residue, and bacteriostatic properties. The study showed HA‐Gel was liquid at temperatures of 15–37.5°C and solid at 37.5–50°C, its swelling rate decreased with increasing temperature, and its lower critical solution temperature occurred at approximately 37.5°C. This property made the hydrogel liquid at room temperature convenient for intravesical perfusion and turned into a solid about 1 min after entering the body and rising to body temperature to increase its residence time. Subsequent experiments also proved that the gel residue time of HA‐Gel in vivo and the drug release time of HA in vivo could reach more than 5 days, which was significantly higher than that of HA alone, and it had good biocompatibility and antibacterial properties.
