Objective: The objective of this scoping review was to investigate the effectiveness and limitations of risk prediction models for postpartum glucose intolerance in women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). The aim was to provide valuable insights for healthcare professionals in the development of robust risk prediction models. Methods: A comprehensive literature search was conducted across multiple databases, including PubMed, EBSCO, Web of Science Core Collection, Ovid Full-Text Medical Journal Database, ProQuest, Elsevier ClinicalKey, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Biology Medicine, and WanFang Database, spanning from January 1990 to July 2023. To assess the quality of the included models, the Predictive Model Risk of Bias Assessment Tool (PROBAST) was employed. Results: Fourteen relevant studies were identified and included in the final review, all focusing on model development. The discrimination ability of the included models ranged from 0.725 to 0.940, indicating satisfactory prediction accuracy. However, a notable limitation was that nine of these models (64.3%) did not provide clear guidelines on the selection of potential predictors. Furthermore, only six models (42.86%) underwent internal validation, with none undergoing external validation. A high risk of bias was observed across the included models. Logistic regression, Cox regression, and machine learning were the primary methods employed in the construction of these models. Conclusion: The risk prediction models included in this review demonstrated favorable prediction accuracy. However, due to variations in construction methodologies, direct comparison of their performance is challenging. These models exhibited certain shortcomings, such as inadequate handling of missing data and a lack of internal and external validation, resulting in a high risk of bias. Therefore, it is recommended that these models be updated and externally validated. The development of prospective, multi-center studies is encouraged to construct predictive models with low risk of bias and high clinical applicability, ultimately guiding evidence-based clinical practice. Purpose: Energy conservation and environmental protection industry (ECEPI) is a strategic choice to promote energy conservation and emission reduction, develop green economy and circular economy. However, China's ECEPI is still in the stage of rapid development and the overall scale is relatively small, what development periods have the ECEPI experienced? This study aims to contribute to a better understanding of collaborative innovation evolution based on social network analysis from the perspective of multi-dimensional proximity. Design/methodology/approach: Methodologically, this study uses social network analysis method to explore the co-evolution of multidimensional collaboration networks. It divides China's ECEPI into four periods based on national policies from 2001 to 2020. This contribution constructs collaborative innovation networks from geographical, technological and organizational proximity. Findings: The results show that the collaborative innovation network was initially formed in the central region of China, gradually expanded to neighboring cities and the core positions of Beijing, Jiangsu and Guangdong have been continuously consolidated. C02F has been the core of the collaboration networks, and the research focus has gradually shifted from the treatment of wastewater, sewage or sludge to the separation field. Enterprises always occupy a dominant position in the collaboration networks. Originality/value: This research investigates the dynamic evolution process of collaborative innovation network in China's ECEPI from the perspective of multidimensional proximity, explores the community structure, important nodes and multidimensional proximity features in the network, expands the research perspective on evolution characteristics of innovative network and the research field of social network analysis. Forest stock volume is the main factor to evaluate forest carbon sink level. At present, the combination of multi-source remote sensing and non-parametric models has been widely used in FSV estimation. However, the biodiversity of natural forests is complex, and the response of the spatial information of remote sensing images to FSV is significantly reduced, which seriously affects the accuracy of FSV estimation. To address this challenge, this paper takes China's Baishanzu Forest Park with representative characteristics of natural forests as the research object, integrates the forest survey data, SRTM data, and Landsat 8 images of Baishanzu Forest Park, constructs a time series dataset based on survey time, and establishes an FSV estimation model based on the CNN-LSTM-Attention algorithm. The model uses the convolutional neural network to extract the spatial features of remote sensing images, uses the LSTM to capture the time-varying characteristics of FSV, captures the feature variables with a high response to FSV through the attention mechanism, and finally completes the prediction of FSV. The experimental results show that some features (e.g., texture, elevation, etc.) of the dataset based on multi-source data feature variables are more effective in FSV estimation than spectral features. Compared with the existing models such as MLR and RF, the proposed model achieved higher accuracy in the study area (R2 = 0.8463, rMSE = 26.73 m3/ha, MAE = 16.47 m3/ha). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Grazing exclusion (GE) and rest grazing (RG) are important management systems for the restoration of degraded grassland ecosystems. In order to evaluate the effects and mechanisms of different grazing management systems on the scale dependency of species diversity, plant community indices and soil variables were determined in 32 plots in the Qilian Mountains in Gansu Province. The results show that diversity effects and their regulating mechanisms had space-scale dependence under different grazing management systems. The species richness and species diversity indices of RG grassland were significantly higher than those of GE at the regional scale. Species richness for RG and GE plots was 128 and 98, respectively, and the Shannon–Wiener and Simpson indices for RG and GE plots were 2.26 and 2.16, and 0.85 and 0.83, respectively. Additionally, three grazing management systems had a significant effect on species richness in mountain meadows, but different management systems had significantly different effects on species diversity indices in mountain meadows and temperate steppes. Meanwhile, soil variables only influenced species diversity at the regional scale. Most of the plant and soil variables at each scale had positive effects on species diversity. However, a negative correlation was seen between biodiversity and species coverage, mean plant height, soil porosity (SP) and bulk density (BD) under the two contrasting grazing management systems. In conclusion, choosing RG at the regional scale and selecting grazing management systems according to different grassland types at the local scale can help to restore degraded grassland vegetation. For China's second-generation aero-engine blade DD6 single-crystal high-temperature alloy, the standard solution-treated test rods were subjected to long-term aging experiments (1290 °C, 1 h + 1300 °C, 2 h + 1315 °C, 4 h air cooling + 1120 °C, 4 h air cooling + 870 °C, 32 h air cooling) at 980 °C for 1000 h, 5000 h, and 7500 h, and the effects of different long-term aging times on the organization evolution, phase precipitation morphology, high-temperature mechanical properties, and endurance performance of the alloy were studied. The results show that with the increase of aging time, the γ′ phase coarsens, joins along the <100> and <010> directions, and merges to form irregularly shaped directional growth and rafting. The endurance life shows a decreasing trend; at 980 °C/243 MPa, 980 °C/270 MPa, 980 °C/309 MPa for the alloys after 5000 h aging, the enduring life decreased by 47.97%, 70.98%, and 76.75%, and 81.25%, 73.18%, and 87.00% after 7500 h aging, respectively. The tensile strength of the alloy at 760 °C first decreases and then increases, with a minimum value at 5000 h; there is a gradual increase in elongation; there is a gradual decrease in tensile strength at 980 °C; and there is first an increase and then decrease in elongation, with a maximum value at 1000 h. This is due to the diffusion phenomenon of the elements in the alloy after 5000 h aging, the emergence of W-rich, Re-, Mo-, and Ni-poor phenomena, and the transformation of the μ-phase from needle-like to rod-like and block-like. In response to wetland degradation due to socio‐economic development, attention to ecological conservation and restoration is increasing globally. In China, more than 1100 wetland conservation and restoration projects were implemented over the past decade. However, the net effects of socio‐economic development and ecological conservation and restoration on ecosystem health have received little empirical examination. We analyzed the spatial–temporal dynamics of ecosystem health in Hengshui Lake Wetland Nature Reserve in northern China, and demonstrated the dual effect of the above‐mentioned factors on ecosystem health. The results indicated that ecosystem health increase due to conservation and restoration offset the decrease due to socio‐economic development, which resulted in a significant increase in the net value by 34.6% over the past 19 years. Wetland conservation and restoration dominated ecosystem health improvement in most study regions, while population growth determined the decrease in ecosystem health in residential regions and transportation land, thus intensifying the spatial heterogeneity. Crucially, targeted and practical conservation strategies have been provided according to the low index and regions, together with its main driving factors. The net effects, spatial heterogeneity and management strategies revealed by this case‐study provide critical implications for large‐scale wetland ecosystems that are pervasive degradation induced by socio‐economic development. The main feature of grassland degradation is the change in the vegetation community structure. Hyperspectral-based grassland community identification is the basis and a prerequisite for large-area high-precision grassland degradation monitoring and management. To obtain the distribution pattern of grassland communities in Xilinhot, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China, we propose a systematic classification method (SCM) for hyperspectral grassland community identification using China's ZiYuan 1-02D (ZY1-02D) satellite. First, the sample label data were selected from the field-collected samples, vegetation map data, and function zoning data for the Nature Reserve. Second, the spatial features of the images were extracted using extended morphological profiles (EMPs) based on the reduced dimensionality of principal component analysis (PCA). Then, they were input into the random forest (RF) classifier to obtain the preclassification results for grassland communities. Finally, to reduce the influence of salt-and-pepper noise, the label similarity probability filter (LSPF) method was used for postclassification processing, and the RF was again used to obtain the final classification results. The results showed that, compared with the other seven (e.g., SVM, RF, 3D-CNN) methods, the SCM obtained the optimal classification results with an overall classification accuracy (OCA) of 94.56%. Background: Air pollution may induce or reinforce nasal inflammation regardless of allergy status. There is limited direct clinical evidence informing the treatment of airborne pollution-related rhinitis. Objective: To assess the effectiveness of intranasal budesonide in adults with self-reported rhinitis symptoms triggered/worsened by airborne pollution. Methods: Adults in northern China with self-reported rhinitis symptoms triggered or worsened by airborne pollution were randomized to budesonide 256 µg/day or placebo for 10 days in pollution season (October 2019 to February 2020). The primary endpoint was the mean change from baseline in 24-h reflective total nasal symptom score (rTNSS) averaged over 10 days. The secondary endpoints were subject-assessed Global Impression of Change (SGIC), mean change from baseline in individual nasal symptom severity, and mean change from baseline in individual non-nasal symptoms of cough and postnasal drip severity. One-sided P < 0.0125 was considered statistically significant. Results: After an interruption by COVID-19, an interim analysis showed that the study could be ended for efficacy with n = 206 participants (103/group) since the primary efficacy endpoint demonstrated significant results. The final efficacy results showed that the 10-day-averaged rTNSS change in the budesonide group was greater than with placebo (− 2.20 vs − 1.72, P = 0.0107). Budesonide also significantly improved 10-day-averaged itching/sneezing change (− 0.75 vs − 0.51, P = 0.0009). Results for SGIC and all other individual symptoms did not show significant differences between the two groups. Conclusions: Intranasal budesonide 256 µg once daily improved the total nasal symptoms and itching/sneezing over 10 days in adults with rhinitis triggered/worsened by airborne pollution. Infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) has been prevalent in chicken farms for many years, and its control relies on extensive vaccine administration. The continuous emergence of new variants and the low cross-protection efficiency prompt the development of new vaccines. In this study, we develop a reverse genetics technique based on the classical vaccine strain H120 genome, via in vitro ligation method. Using the H120 genome as the backbone, we constructed the recombinant virus rH120-QX(S) by replacing the H120 S gene with the QX S gene, a prevalent strain in China. Biological characteristics of the rH120-QX(S) virus, such as 50% egg lethal dose (ELD50), 50% egg infectious dose (EID50), dwarf embryo, growth curve, and genetic stability, are measured, which are comparable to the parental virus H120. There are no clinical symptoms and tissue lesions in the trachea and kidney in the rH120-QX(S)-infected specific-pathogen-free (SPF) chickens, demonstrating that this recombinant virus does not confer pathogenicity. Furthermore, protection studies show that there is 100% homologous protection of rH120-QX(S) to the virulent QX strain, as shown by the absence of clinical signs and no lethality. Taken together, our results demonstrate that swapping the S gene onto the H120 genetic backbone is a precise and effective way to produce genetically defined IBV vaccine candidates. Background: Acute right-sided colonic diverticulitis (RCD) is a common disease in Asian populations for which the optimal treatment remains controversial. The aim of this study was to investigate management and evaluate long-term outcomes of treatment in patients with acute RCD.Methods: We retrospectively collected and analyzed clinical data for patients with acute RCD admitted to the Tongren Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from December 2015 to December 2020. The patients were divided into two groups, according to primary treatment strategy, which was either conservative treatment or surgical treatment.Results: A total of 162 consecutive patients with acute RCD were enrolled in the study. There was no significant difference in age, sex, history of abdominal surgery, medical co-morbidities, fever, previous history of RCD, treatment success rate and incidence of complications between the conservative and surgery groups. However, the recurrence rate in conservative groups was significantly higher than in surgery groups (16.53% vs 2.44%, P = 0.020). And more frequent bowel movements and previous history of RCD increased the risk of recurrence of acute RCD. Moreover, there was no significant difference in either treatment success rate or the overall recurrence rate between the patients with uncomplicated diverticulitis and patients with complicated diverticulitis.Conclusions: Surgical treatment is also safe and effective for acute RCD. Surgical treatment should mainly be considered for patients with acute RCD with recurrence risk factors (more frequent bowel movements and previous history of RCD) or with complicated acute RCD. This study explores children's domestic visiting friends and relatives (VFR) travel experiences and their development of place meaning about their ancestral home or home village, " Laojia." Using constructivist grounded theory, data were gathered through 19 drawings and photo-elicitation interviews with children aged 6–12. Findings revealed that " Laojia " was the central meaning of children's domestic VFR travel, built on their visit experiences and geographical imagination. Results indicated how place meaning arose from and interwove with geographical imagination in constructing " Laojia." Children's domestic VFR travel in China represents a unique countryside journey, " Hui Laojia." It is crucial to understand this culturally specific and geographically situated practice which integrates the ordinary and the novel. This study makes contributions to research on VFR and geographical imagination. Its findings help tourism managers and destination marketing organizations address the needs of children and families, informing government policies related to rural revitalization. In recent years, the morbidity and mortality of gastrointestinal cancer have remained high in China. Due to the deep location of the gastrointestinal organs, such as gastric cancer, the early symptoms of cancer are not obvious. It is generally discovered at an advanced stage with distant metastasis and lymph node infiltration, making it difficult to cure. Therefore, there is a significant need for novel technologies that can effectively diagnose and treat gastrointestinal cancer, ultimately reducing its mortality. Gold nanoparticles (GNPs), a type of nanocarrier with unique optical properties and remarkable biocompatibility, have the potential to influence the fate of cancer by delivering drugs, nucleic acids to cancer cells and tissues. As a safe and reliable visualization agent, GNPs can track drugs and accurately indicate the location and boundaries of cancer, opening up new possibilities for cancer treatment. In addition, GNPs have been used in photodynamic therapy to deliver photosensitizers, as well as in combination with photothermal therapy. Background: Distant metastasis to vital organs is the major contributor to breast cancer mortality, and regional lymph node metastasis is an important facilitator of distant metastasis and recurrence in this cancer. The early diagnosis and precise treatment of lymph node metastasis are crucial for staging and prognosis in breast cancer. Herein, we report a visualized precision medicine nanoplatform of metastatic lymph nodes for ultrasonic/photoacoustic (US/PA) dual modal imaging-guided in situ targeted hyperthermia-combined chemotherapy. Results: Carbon nanoparticles (CNs), approved by the China Food and Drug Administration, were loaded with docetaxel and rationally combined with anti-hypoxia-inducible factor 1α antibody-modified poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanoparticles to achieve the combination of passive targeting at the lymph nodes and intracellular targeting at HIF 1α factor. The accumulation and retention of nanoparticles in metastatic lymph nodes via lymphatic delivery were enhanced. Docetaxel could be effectively offloaded by CNs that have active carbon nanoparticles, and the PLGA membrane prevented drug leakage. The nanoparticles exhibited excellent photothermal performance with a photothermal conversion efficiency of 28.9%, killing tumor cells in metastatic lymph nodes through hyperthermia. In vitro and in vivo systematic evaluations revealed that hyperpyrexia triggered the rupture of nanoparticles caused by the phase transition of perfluorohexane, resulting in docetaxel release for achieving in situ hyperthermia-combined chemotherapy. Conclusions: The laser-triggered highly efficient in situ chemotherapy nanosystem achieves targeted synergistic chemo-hyperthermia treatment of metastatic lymph nodes, and lymphatic delivery represents a strategy to avoid additional injury caused by drugs entering the blood circulation. Due to the specificity of the geological background, terrestrial strata are widely distributed in the major hydrocarbon-bearing basins in China. In addition, terrestrial shales are generally featured with high thickness, multiple layers, high TOC content, ideal organic matter types, and moderate thermal evolution, laying a solid material foundation for hydrocarbon generation. However, the quantitative characterization study on their pore structure remains inadequate. In this study, core samples were selected from the Middle Jurassic Lianggaoshan Formation in the southeastern Sichuan Basin of the Upper Yangtze Region for analyses on its TOC content and mineral composition. Besides, experiments including oil washing, the adsorption/desorption of CO2 and nitrogen, and high-pressure mercury pressure experiments were carried out. The pore structure of different petrographic types of terrestrial shales can be accurately and quantitatively characterized with these works. The following conclusions were drawn: for organic-rich mixed shales and organic-rich clay shales, the TOC content is the highest; the pore volume, which is primarily provided by macropores and specific surface area, which is provided by mesopores, was the largest, thus providing more space for shale oil and gas reservation. The pores take on a shape either close to a parallel plate slit or close to or of an ink bottle. For organic-matter-bearing shales, both the pore volume and specific surface area are the second-largest and are provided by the same sized pores with organic-rich mixed shales. Its pores take on a shape approximating either a parallel plate slit or an ink bottle. Organic-matter-bearing mixed shales have the lowest pore volume and specific surface area; its pore volume is primarily provided by macropores, and the specific surface area by mesopores and the shape of the pores are close to an ink bottle. Summary: Microeukaryotes play key ecological roles in the microbial web of aquatic ecosystems. However, large knowledge gaps urgently need to be filled regarding the biogeography with associated shaping mechanisms and co‐occurrence patterns of microeukaryotes under freshwater‐saltwater gradients, especially true in tropical regions. Here, we investigated microeukaryotes of six mixed freshwater‐saltwater regions in the Pearl River Estuary and surrounding coasts in southern China, with salinity ranging 0.1–32.0% and distances spanned up to 500 km, using molecular ecological methods. Results indicate that the biogeography of abundant and rare microeukaryotic communities was similar, both their co‐occurrence patterns and biogeographical patterns were driven by deterministic and stochastic processes. The environmental factors with higher selective pressure than dispersal limitation meant that the role of deterministic process in structuring communities was more significant than that of stochastic process, and salinity played important role in structuring both microeukaryotic communities and networks. The abundant communities had stronger influence on entire microeukaryotic communities and seemed to be more sensitive to environmental changes than their rare counterparts, while rare ones had stronger interspecific relationships. Finally, the geographic scale and environmental gradients of study regions should firstly be clarified in future research on the ecological processes of microeukaryotes before conclusions are drawn. In recent years, in order to solve the problem of resource shortage and environmental degradation, nuclear power has become the strategic choice of many countries due to its unique advantages. China's nuclear power started in the 1970s. After decades of development and continuous independent innovation, China has grown into one of the superpowers in nuclear field. But how does China's nuclear power develop and innovate? This study aims to provide valuable insights into cooperative innovation in China's nuclear energy industry from the perspective of network. By analyzing the patent data of China's nuclear energy industry from 1986 to 2019, we constructed a patent collaboration network in China's nuclear power field. Then, we analyze the structure of the network by using social network analysis (SNA) method, and explore the characteristics of the network we build from the perspective of multidimensional proximity. The result reveals that the patent collaboration network in China's nuclear energy industry is drifting toward collaborative innovation. Through the network, the innovation subjects in nuclear power field can better achieve resource sharing and promote the overall innovation level of the network. At the same time, we find that organizational proximity and technological similarity contribute to the cooperation between organizations in China's nuclear power field, while geographical proximity has little influence on the collaboration. This study has important implications for understanding collaborative innovation in China's nuclear energy industry and gives in-depth insights into network collaboration patterns, providing valuable references and guidance for the development of relevant policies and strategies. This study addresses gender in China's hospitality industry. Grounded in doing gender theory and feminist discourse, the research explores gender performance in work and non-work domains based on data gathered through 32 in-depth interviews in the mainland of China. Findings reveal that China's gender revolution is uneven across spheres and that women's liberation, centered on productive labor, represents a hegemonic gender discourse. Additionally, the gender identities of women in hospitality have undergone numerous changes. "Redoing gender" is defined in this study as challenging traditional gender norms in multiple spheres. Women redo gender by redefining gender norms, labeling hospitality feminism, strategically using femininity, and selectively performing gender in various domains. Theoretical implications of the results are discussed. • Women's liberation centered on productive labor is a hegemonic gender discourse in China, especially the Mainland. • Women working in the hospitality industry redo gender in separate spheres in the mainland of China. • Women redefine gender norms, label hospitality feminism, and shift their gender roles across diverse fields. A comprehensive analysis of the spatial and temporal variations of heavy metals in wetland sediment can delineate the changes in possible contamination sources, providing valuable conservation strategies for further wetland management. Using the pollution index, enrichment factors, and potential ecological risk index, the spatial and temporal variations in heavy metals (Cd, Hg, As, Pb, Cr, Cu, and Zn) were evaluated in Hengshui Lake in north China in 2005 and 2020. The results demonstrated that the concentrations and assessment index for most heavy metals all decreased, with that of As decreasing the most (−54.3%), which mainly benefited from the implementation of a series of ecological conservation and restoration projects. Although the assessment indexes for most heavy metals indicated non-pollution status, Hg and Cd exhibited medium enrichment and moderate potential ecological risk. Especially for Cd, the related indexes increased by 860.0%, mainly influenced by anthropogenic activities. Furthermore, the high pollution was mainly distributed nearby the regions of dense enterprises and wastewater overflow zone (i.e., Wangkou sluice, the Jizhou Small Lake and its causeway). This was primarily attributed to the discharge of industrial wastewater and Cd-polluted ecological diversion water. These findings demonstrated the necessity of the continued and targeted implementation of wetland conservation and restoration projects and identified possible contamination sources and important pollution regions that could provide insights into contamination control options and targeted management strategies for Hengshui Lake. Extreme thermal environment harms the health of outdoor workers and poses a potential threat to workplace safety. A field survey, including thermal parameter measurements, was conducted at construction sites in South China during the summer of 2019. The relationship between health risk and thermal parameters was obtained. The thermal sensation and satisfaction rate of the workers at different outdoor environmental conditions were analyzed, and recommendations were made based on the comparison of thermal indices. The thermal stress categories of the thermal indices were also investigated. The results suggest that the intensity of working conditions should be reduced when the air temperature is higher than 34 °C; the satisfaction rate of workers was found to be relatively high when the outdoor temperature is lower than 34 °C and the wind speed is greater than 1.3 m/s. Thermal indicators used to evaluate the comfort level of outdoor workers need to be modified according to the local climate and working environment to avoid excessive exposure to high-temperature work environments. • Extreme thermal environment harms the health of outdoor workers. • Thermal parameter measurements were conducted at construction sites in summer. • Labor intensity should be reduced when temperature is higher than 34 °C. • At air temperature <34 °C and wind speed >1.3 m/s, satisfaction rate of workers is high. Severe meteorological drought is generally considered to lead to crop damage and loss. In this study, we created a new standard value by averaging the values distributed in the middle 30–70% instead of the traditional mean value, and we proposed a new index calculation method named Normalized Indices (NI) for meteorological drought monitoring after normalized processing. The TRMM-derived precipitation data, GLDAS-derived soil moisture data, and MODIS-derived vegetation condition data from 2003 to 2019 were used, and we compared the NI with commonly used Condition Indices (CI) and Anomalies Percentage (AP). Taking the mid-to-lower reaches of the Yangtze River (MLRYR) as an example, the drought monitoring results for paddy rice and winter wheat showed that (1) NI can monitor well the relative changes in real precipitation/soil moisture/vegetation conditions in both arid and humid regions, while meteorological drought was overestimated with CI and AP, and (2) due to the monitoring results of NI, the well-known drought event that occurred in the MLRYR from August to October 2019 had a much less severe impact on vegetation than expected. In contrast, precipitation deficiency induced an increase in sunshine and adequate heat resources, which improved crop growth in 78.8% of the area. This study discusses some restrictions of CI and AP and suggests that the new NI index calculation provides better meteorological drought monitoring in the MLRYR, thus offering a new approach for future drought monitoring studies. This study investigates the varies in human physiological response, subjective sensation and acute subclinical health symptoms with increasing activity levels at different high temperatures. Thirty-two healthy subjects were recruited to walk on a treadmill in a climate chamber at a speed of 4 km/h. They experienced four temperature conditions (26 °C, 30 °C, 33 °C and 37 °C), each exposure lasting 85 min. Eardrum temperature, heart rate, skin temperature, systolic blood pressure, respiratory flow, and respiration rate changed significantly with increasing temperatures. At temperature of 37 °C, the SpO 2 decreased significantly compared with at 33 °C. Subjects perceived the environment unacceptable at 37 °C. The perceived air quality and air freshness correlated linearly with the enthalpy of air. The intensity of headache, dizziness, fatigue and sleepiness increased with increasing temperatures, while only aggravated significantly at 37 °C. Additionally, compared with the results at light activity level, heart rate and other key physiological parameters increased significantly with increasing activity levels. The subjects felt "very hot" at 37 °C, and the change trend in symptoms reported by subjects increased significantly at 37 °C with the increased exposure time, while no significant change was observed in 26-33 °C. It indicates that exposure to 37 °C impairs the health and safety of heat acclimatized subjects. Using linear fitting curve to predict human physiological tolerance time suggested by ISO 9986. The result shows that eardrum temperature exceeded 38.5 °C for 97min continuously walk at 37 °C. As an important part of China's strategic emerging industries, developing wind energy is key to improving the nation's energy structure, protecting the environment, ensuring energy security, and achieving sustainable economic development. This study uses complex network theory and social network analysis to investigate the collaboration network of China's wind energy industry based on the collaborative application data of patents from the China National Intellectual Property Administration. The results demonstrate that the State Grid Corporation of China plays an important role in the collaboration network. With the wind energy industry's development, the network's dominant force has changed from individuals to enterprises, and its collaboration frequency now differs across various technology fields and organizations. Furthermore, the maximal connected subnetwork was found to be important for knowledge dissemination. These results demonstrate a large difference in the network's spatial distribution. Atractylodes lancea (Thunb.) DC. is an important medicinal plant mainly distributed in China. A. lancea is rich in volatile oils and has a significant effect on various diseases, including coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Based on the signature constituents of volatile oils, A. lancea is divided into two chemotypes: the Dabieshan and Maoshan chemotype. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC–MS) results revealed that the hinesol and β-eudesmol contents in the Dabieshan chemotype were higher than those in the Maoshan chemotype. Next-generation sequencing (NGS) and single-molecule real-time (SMRT) sequencing technologies were combined to investigate the molecular mechanisms of sesquiterpenoid biosynthesis in A. lancea. A total of 42 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) for terpenoid biosynthesis were identified in the two chemotype groups, and nine full-length terpene synthase (TPS) genes were identified. Subcellular localization revealed that AlTPS1 and AlTPS2 proteins were localized in the nucleus and endoplasmic reticulum. They use FPP as a substrate to generate sesquiterpenoids. AlTPS1 catalyzes biosynthesis of elemol while AlTPS2 is observed to perform β-farnesene synthase activity. This study provides information for understanding the differences in the accumulation of terpenoids in two chemotypes of A. lancea and lays a foundation for further elucidation of the molecular mechanism of sesquiterpenoid biosynthesis. Quantifying the regional evapotranspiration is critical in terrestrial water balance and global water cycle, while partitioning of evapotranspiration is challenging but fundamental to predict the fate of terrestrial ecosystems under climate changes. Here, we performed in-situ measurements of water isotopes in atmospheric vapor, plant tissues and soil pools in a Pinus yunnanensis forest ecosystem in southwest China, aiming to partitioning ET by estimating the stable isotopic compositions of ET and that of its two components, i.e., plant transpiration and soil water evaporation. We used combined high-frequency laser spectroscopy and chamber methods, to constrain the estimates of T/ET. We first found that the estimated daily T/ET ratio ranges from 0.59 to 0.81, with an apparent increasing shift in the early growing season and maintaining a plateau level of over 0.75 during the peak growing season. This higher averaged T/ET of 0.73 ± 0.06 indicates that plant transpiration is the main component of evapotranspiration. The estimated δ E and δ T are in agreement with result from customized chamber method. We also found that in monsoon season (in June-September), soil water content is the main control of T/ET variations, with leaf area index playing only a partial role. Our study confirms the critical impact of soil water on the seasonal change of T/ET in Pinus yunnanensis ecosystem such as the SW China. However, we are also aware the sensitivity of controls on estimated T/ET at different time scale interested. Our results here provide insight into the regional hydrological cycle in alpine forest ecosystem and potentially benefits many applications from forest ecosystem protection to paleo isotope archives. To better understand the ecological effects of mariculture, the diversity distribution, determinant and interaction of microeukaryote communities from fish cage and suspended shellfish farming were investigated in three bays of South China Coast. Our alpha and beta diversity analyses showed that the difference of the microeukaryote community between fish and shellfish farming was more significant at local than regional scale, and microeukaryotes respond more to spatial effect than mariculture effect at regional scale. Mantel test, variation partitioning analysis and co-occurrence network analysis revealed that the environmental factors especially chemical and biotic factors contributed more to community assembly in fish than shellfish farming. Based on the comparisons of community composition and determinant between fish and shellfish farming, the effect mechanisms of the two farming types on microeukaryote community were proposed. Fish farming brings significant environmental variation and thus has strong bottom-up impacts on microeukaryotes, while shellfish farming exerts a grazing pressure on microeukaryotes by filter-feeding and has top-down control to them. Furthermore, the network stability analyses revealed weaker community stability in fish than shellfish farming, suggesting that the microeukaryote community was more sensitive to environmental change deduced by fish than shellfish farming. Background: Multiple morphological abnormalities of sperm flagella is an idiopathic asthenoteratozoospermia characterized by absent, short, coiled, angulation, and irregular-caliber flagella. Genetic variants of DNAH1 gene have been identified as a causative factor of multiple morphological abnormalities of sperm flagella and intracytoplasmic sperm injection is an available strategy for infertile males with dynein axonemal heavy chain 1 defects to conceive., Objectives: To identify novel variants and candidate mutant hotspots of DNAH1 gene related to multiple morphological abnormalities of sperm flagella and male infertility in humans., Materials and Methods: The DNAH1 variants were identified by whole exome sequencing and confirmed with Sanger sequencing. Papanicolaou staining, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, and immunostaining were performed to investigate the morphological and ultrastructural characteristics of spermatozoa. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection was applied for the assisted reproductive therapy of males harboring biallelic DNAH1 variants., Results: We identified 18 different DNAH1 variants in 11 unrelated families, including nine missense variants (p.A2564T, p.T3657R, p.G1862R, p.L2296P, p.T4041I, p.L611P, p.A913D, p.R1932Q, p.R2356W) and nine loss-of-function variants (c.2301-1G>T, p.Q1518*, p.R1702*, p.D2845Mfs*2, p.P3909Rfs*33, p.Q4040Dfs*33, p.Q4058*, p.E4060Pfs*61, p.V4071Cfs*54). A total of 66.7% (12/18) of the identified variants were novel. Morphological analysis based on Papanicolaou staining and scanning electron microscopy demonstrated the typical multiple morphological abnormalities of sperm flagella characteristics of dynein axonemal heavy chain 1-deficient spermatozoa. Immunostaining further revealed the absence of inner dynein arms but not outer dynein arms, which induced a general ultrastructural disorganization, such as the loss of central pair and mis-localization of the microtubule doublets and outer dense fibers. To date, seven affected couples have accepted the intracytoplasmic sperm injection treatment, and three of them have given birth to five healthy babies., Discussion and Conclusion: These findings further expand the variant spectrum of DNAH1 gene related to multiple morphological abnormalities of sperm flagella and male infertility in humans, thus providing new information for the molecular diagnosis of asthenoteratozoospermia. Diagnostic accuracy of COVID-19 varies among different assays. In this study, the analytical performance of 1 rapid nucleic acid detection assay (Coyote assay) and 2 routine RT-qPCR assays (BioGerm assay and DaAn assay) was evaluated, using 1196 clinical samples. Disagreement in the results of 2 paired targets occurred in all 3 assays. The Coyote assay failed to detect 15 samples, and the DaAn assay failed to detect 5 samples. The Cohen's kappa coefficient was 0.970 between the BioGerm and DaAn assays, 0.907 between the Coyote and BioGerm assays, and 0.936 between the Coyote and DaAn assays. The positive percent agreement, and negative percent agreement of the Coyote assay were 84.04%, and 100%, respectively. Obesity is one of the most glaringly obvious, yet most neglected, public health problems the world is facing today. Individuals' self-perception of being overweight is essential to engaging in weight control behavior. This is the first exploratory study in Chongqing to assess the mediating effect of perceived obesity in close relatives on obesity and weight control behavior among adults. A cross-sectional study, including 3,7492 participants, was conducted in a healthcare center in Chongqing, China. For Kruskal-Wallis test analyses, logistic regression and Sobel-Goodman mediation tests were employed. Only 1.76% of participants (660) were medically identified as obese, and only 2.13% of participants (798) thought their close relatives were obese. Nearly one-third of the participants consumed more than double the daily recommended amount of meat. More than 85% of participants were physically inactive. Obesity was positively associated with obesity perception in close relatives (OR = 19.556, P < 0.001). The association between the respondent's obesity status and weight control behavior scores changed statistically significantly (β = 0.594, P < 0.001). Individuals who perceived their close relatives as obese were more likely to engage in weight control behavior themselves (β = 0.678, P = 0.001). The obesity perception in close relatives partially mediated the association between obesity and weight control behavior (ab = 0.141, SE = 0.03, 95% CI = 0.086, 0.198). Obese people are more likely to engage in weight control behaviors. The effect of individuals' obesity status on weight control behavior scores is partially mediated by the obesity perception in close relatives among the participants. Caring for people with dementia causes heavy care burdens to their families. Family coping is important in decreasing burdens and promoting family adaptation. To comprehensively assess and understand these issues, we validated the Chinese version of the Family Crisis Oriented Personal Evaluation Scales (F-COPES) which is widely used to evaluate family coping. Data for psychometric property evaluation were obtained from 215 family members of patients with dementia. The instrument showed satisfactory content validity (scale content validity index 0.98), convergent validity (r = 0.50, P < 0.01), and internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha 0.86). The confirmatory factor analysis identified six factors, namely, acquiring relatives' support, acquiring friends' support, acquiring neighbors' or others' support, seeking spiritual support, reframing, and passive appraisal (χ 2 /df 1.86, CFI 0.88, TLI 0.87, PGFI 0.68, RMSEA 0.06). This study aimed to examine the current suicidal risk and whether the suicidal risk was associated with a wide range of trauma. The self-administered online questionnaire was adopted to collect suicide risk (SR) such as suicidal ideation, self-harm, suicide attempts, and different trauma information of the adolescents by cluster sampling in Chongqing, China. Multivariable linear regression was presented to assess the association between different risks of trauma and SR scores. Approximately 14.7% of adolescents enrolled reported suicide ideation and more than 10% of adolescents have experienced one kind of trauma during the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic period. After adjusting for confounding variables, adolescents who suffered family hurt had a higher risk score of SR (beta coefficients (β) = 0.289, 95% confidence interval ( CI ) = 0.115-0.463). A positive association was found among participants from junior and senior school (β = 0.415, 95% CI = 0.152, 0.768), and the SR score was positively associated with sexism among participants from the university/college (β = 0.238, 95% CI = 0.042, 0.434). The most potentially obvious trauma that contributed to SR in junior and senior school adolescents might be cyberbullying. Family neglect or abuse might be a detrimental factor in SR for adolescents whether those in junior school or those in university school in China. Background: Understanding the levels of health literacy among different groups is essential for better public health interventions targeting specific subgroups of the population. Additionally, this article explores the prevalence and influencing factors of the health literacy levels of different age groups during the COVID-19 epidemic. Methods: Multistage stratified cluster random sampling and the Probability Proportion to Size (PPS) method were used to select permanent residents aged 15-69 in Chongqing (54,706) for the questionnaire survey. The survey period is from July 2019 and July 2020. Single-factor analysis and logistic regression models were used to study the relationship between demographics, socioeconomic factors, other independent covariates, and health literacy. Results: The health literacy levels of residents declined with age, and there were significant differences in health literacy levels between age groups (χ 2 = 3332.884, P < 0.05). As far as the factors affecting health literacy level are concerned, high education and high income are the protective factors for health literacy level for residents of all ages. For adolescents (OR = 1.383, 95% CI: 1.217-1.571), young adults (OR = 1.232, 95% CI = 1.117-1.358), and middle-aged people (OR = 1.096, 95% CI = 1.017-1.182), residence in rural areas was a protective factor. In terms of the dimensions of health literacy, in particular, elderly health literacy in 2020 in Scientific Health Concepts, Safety and First Aid, Basic Medical Care decreased significantly compared with 2019. Conclusions: For adolescents, young adults, middle-aged people, to solve the problem of urban and rural health quality gap, we should not only use the geographical division, but also consider the social population and socio-economic differences. For the elderly, the following four dimensions of health literacy need to be paid more attention than those of other age: Basic Knowledge and Concepts, Scientific Health Concepts, Safety and First Aid, and Basic Medical Care. A lack of knowledge on the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases is the main reason for the recent decline in health literacy. The genotype VII Newcastle disease virus (NDV) vaccine has begun to replace the traditional genotype II NDV vaccine and is widely used in the commercial poultry of China. However, the effect of homologous and heterogeneous anti-NDV serum on the evolution of prevalent NDV is unknown. To understand the effect of genotype II and VII anti-NDV serum on the evolution of genotype VII NDV strains, ZJ1 (waterfowl origin) and CH/SD/2008/128 (ND128; chicken origin) were used for serial passage of 30 generations in DF-1 cells without anti-NDV serum or with genotype II and VII anti-NDV serum independently. The F and HN genes of the 2 viruses were amplified for the 10th, 20th, and 30th generations of each serial passage group and compared with their respective original viruses. We found that there was only one mutation at position 248 in the F gene of ZJ1 due to the serum pressure of genotype VII anti-NDV. Similarly, mutations at residue 527 of the F gene, and position 9 and 319 of the HN gene of ND128 were noted in both anti-NDV serum groups. The results show that the nonsynonymous (NS)-to-synonymous (S) ratio of the F gene of ZJ1 virus was 1.6, and for the HN gene, it was 2.5 in the anti-II serum group. In the anti-VII serum group, the NS/S ratio for the F gene was 2.1, and for the HN gene, it was 2.5. The NS/S ratio of the F gene of the ND128 virus was 0.8, and for the HN gene, it was 3 in the anti-II serum group. Furthermore, the NS/S ratio of the F gene was 0.8, and the HN gene was 2.3 in the anti-VII group. Taken together, our findings highlight that there was no significant difference in the variation of protective antigens in genotype VII NDV under the selection pressure of homologous and heterogeneous genotype NDV inactivated vaccines., (Copyright © 2021 The Authors.
