This paper reports a bibliometric analysis of two small data sets: a set of 34 papers that make up The Routledge handbook of vocabulary studies (Webb, 2020) and a set of papers dealing with second language (L2) vocabulary research taken from a single journal Frontiers in Psychology. Bibliometric maps based on author co-citations in these two data sets are presented and compared. Although the two data sets are comparable in terms of size, they appear to be very divergent. In particular, the significant sources identified in The Handbook map seem to play a relatively minor role in the Frontiers map. The obvious conclusion is that The Handbook is not as representative of L2 vocabulary research as its title might lead us to believe. The paper argues that micro-bibliometric studies like this one can sometimes highlight features that are lost in the more traditional large-scale bibliometric approach. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: In parallel with the rising importance of innovation and digital technologies, research on platform ecosystems is rapidly accumulating. This study aims to summarize the current research published in leading technical and innovation management (TIM) journals and provide recommendation for future research. Design/methodology/approach: In this paper, the authors combine multiple quantitative literature review methods (social network analysis, citation analysis and co-citation analysis) with a systematic literature review of articles published in the 13 most influential TIM journals over a 15-year period. Findings: The citation network of 168 selected papers is sparse, with low network density indicating the emerging nature of the field. Using network centrality values, the authors identified the 33 most influential articles. The review of methodologies in these articles found that conceptual and case study research dominate, suggesting the need for additional confirmatory and quantitative analysis. Co-citation analysis of the references identified six research clusters: foundation, network-centric innovation, complementor management, platform competition, ecosystemsand product platforms. Originality/value: This analysis is among the first to examine the knowledge structure of platform ecosystem research in the TIM domain by using multiple evidence-based analysis methods. Textile waste water contains dyes and chemicals that produce harmful vapors and exhaust gases, which is hazardous to the environment and public health. Therefore, it must be carefully treated before discharged. To understand the research evolution in the research area of textile waste water treatment, based on bibliometrics, an in-depth analysis of the publications and hotspots in this area was presented in this paper. For the analysis, totally 6774 papers related to the research area that are published between the year 1964 and 2023 were collected from the Web of Science Core Collection. Using CiteSpace and VOSviewer as bibliometric analysis tools, the collaboration of countries, regions, and organizations was investigated. Besides, an analysis for citation and co-citation of journals, authors, references, and co-occurrence of keywords was performed. The evolution of research hotspots in the three major research directions related to degradation, oxidation, and adsorption is also analyzed in this paper. The analysis results show that researches related to oxidation and adsorption are active in recent years, while nanocomposite adsorbents and graphene oxide are the current research hotspots. Purpose: This study aims to uncover and develop explicit knowledge of existing smart communities (SCs) to guide services and business solutions for enterprises and serve community users in a well-thought-out manner. These sagacious frameworks will assist in analyzing trends and reaching out to pre-existing setups with different degrees of expertise. Design/methodology/approach: A systematic overview is provided in this paper to unify insights and competencies toward building SCs; a hybrid analytical approach is used consisting of machine learning and bibliometric analysis. Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) are the primary databases for this purpose. Findings: SCs implement cutting-edge technologies to enhance mobility, elevating information and communication technology (ICT) skills and data awareness while improving business processes and efficiency. This system of SC is an evolution of the conventional method. It provides a foundation for intelligent community services based on individual users and technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, cloud computing and big data. Manufacturing-based, service-based, retail-based, resource management and infrastructure-based SCs exist in the literature. Originality/value: The paper summarizes a conceptual framework of SCs based on existing works around SCs. To the best of the authors' knowledge, this is the first systematic literature review that uses a hybrid approach of topic modeling and bibliometric analysis to understand SCs better. The International Journal of Advances in Soft Computing and its Applications (IJASCA) is a rapidly growing academic journal published by Al-Zaythoonah University of Jordan (ZUJ). IJASCA publishes original contributions on soft computing, machine learning and artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data and other current science and technological trends. This study uses different bibliometric analysis tools to analyze the IJASCA published research papers between 2009 and 2021. The analysis includes annual publication growth, citation patterns, most prolific authors, institutions and countries, co-citation and co-occurrence networks analysis. A total of 317 published papers have been studied. The results show that IJASCA has grown in research contributions from 12 papers in 2009 to 40 papers in 2021, and citations have grown drastically to 2253. Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Johor, is the institution that contributed the most to IJASCA publications with 109 papers. Malaysia is the country that was cited the most with 794 citations. Thematic analysis shows that the most important author keywords are soft computing, optimization, machine learning, big data and cloud computing. Overall, the findings are beneficial to the IJASCA editorial board. Its retrospective review will most likely encourage journal readers and assist the editorial team in developing research strategies that will allow research scientists to contribute high-quality research papers to the IJASCA. Purpose: This study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis on "intertemporal choice" behavior of individuals from journals in the Scopus database between 1957 and 2023. The research covered the data on the said topic since it first originated in the Scopus database and carried out performance analysis and content analysis of papers in the business management and finance disciplines. Design/methodology/approach: Bibliometric analysis, including science mapping and performance analysis, followed by content analysis of the papers of identified clusters, was conducted. Three clusters based on cocitation analysis and six themes (three major and three minor) were identified using the bibliometrix package in R studio. The content analysis of the papers in these clusters and themes have been discussed in this study, along with the thematic evolution of intertemporal choice research over the period of time, paving a way for future research studies. Findings: The review unpacks publication and citation trends of intertemporal choice behavior, the most significant authors, journals and papers along with the major clusters and themes of research based on cocitation and degree of centrality and relevance, respectively, i.e. discounting experiments and intertemporal choice, impulsivity, risk preference, time-inconsistent preference, etc. Originality/value: Over the past years, the research on "intertemporal choice" has flourished because of the increasing interest of researchers and scholars from different fields and the dynamic and pervasive nature of this topic. Despite the long-recognised importance of data-driven operations and supply chain management (OSCM) scholarship and practice, and the impressive development of big data analytics (BDA), research finds that firms struggle with BDA adoption, which suggests the existence of gaps in the literature. Therefore, we conduct this systematic literature review of journal articles on data-driven OSCM from 2000 to early 2020 to ascertain established research clusters and literature lacunae. Using co-citation analysis software and double-checking the results with factor analysis and multidimensional-scaling-based k-means clustering, we find six clusters of studies on data-driven OSCM, whose primary topics are identified by keyword co-occurrence analysis. Five of these clusters relate directly to manufacturing, which, in line with the existing literature, indicates the crucial role of production in OSCM. We highlight the evolution of these research clusters and propose how the literature on data-driven OSCM can support BDA in OSCM. We synthesise what has been studied in the literature as points of reference for practitioners and researchers and identify what necessitates further exploration. In addition to the insights contributed to the literature, our study is amongst the first efforts to deploy multiple clustering techniques to undertake a rigorous data-driven systematic literature review (SLR) of data-driven OSCM. The aim of this article is to analyse the existing literature on social media engagement using bibliometric techniques to examine its evolution since its introduction in the business, management and accounting domains. This study comprises the following techniques based on a bibliometric analysis of 305 research papers extracted from Elsevier's Scopus from 2011 to February 2021: citation analysis, co-citation analysis, co-occurrence of author keywords. The analysis highlights the essence of research in the field of social media engagement over the last 10 years. Social media engagement based on content, different platforms and various industries emerges as prominent themes in the extant literature. Further, the analysis identifies the most influential authors and journals, pertaining to the field of social media engagement. Lastly, directions for future research have been explained. Journal of Business Research has been a significant contributor to this concept among various other journals. This paper aims to map and analyze the scientific production of social innovation, resulting in a contribution to the literature review and guidelines for future research. A bibliometric analysis was conducted to explore the trends on the topic. The primary objectives are (1) to identify how the literature defines the concept of social innovation and to track its evolution; (2) to measure productivity and identify key authors and scientific journals with the highest impact in the field and the association networks between their respective institutions and countries of origin; (3) to analyze and map citations, co-citations, and research topics to pinpoint the topics and dimensions related to social innovation in order to propose future research. Shared micromobility services have become increasingly prevalent and indispensable as a means of transportation across diverse geographical regions. Integrating shared micromobility with public transit offers opportunities to complement fixed-route transit networks and address first- and last-mile issues. To explore this topic, a systematic literature review was conducted to consolidate knowledge, analyze research achievements and best practices, and provide future research recommendations. This study examined 108 journal papers from the Web of Science (WoS) core collection from 2016 to 2022, along with grey literature. Citation and co-citation analyses were performed to build and illustrate the literature's bibliometric networks. This analysis categorized the literature into four major study themes: policy, sustainability, the interaction between shared micromobility and public transportation, and infrastructure. The implementation approaches of integrating shared micromobility and public transportation in different cities were classified into four categories: physical integration, payment and fee integration, informational integration, and institutional integration. The findings indicate that the relationship between shared micromobility and public transportation varies with spatial–temporal conditions and the population density of the city. Overall, integrating micromobility into public transit can offer faster and more cost-effective mobility options for most trips, contributing to urban resilience, a better air quality, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and livable communities. Based on these insights, further research is recommended to explore dynamic and context-specific strategies for successful shared micromobility and public transit integration, considering diverse urban settings and demographic factors. Multimedia glosses have been examined extensively by researchers for over three decades to determine their possible effects in second language (L2) vocabulary acquisition. Many meta-analytic studies aimed to determine the extent to which glosses can impact L2 vocabulary learning and the moderators that can mediate the results of meta-analytic studies. This study integrated meta-analytic studies with document co-citation analysis (DCA) to elicit a fine-grained view of the thematic associations of relevant citing studies with the issue of glosses and L2 vocabulary learning. To address this issue, 18 target studies (N = 2991 participants) were selected as the study sample. Results revealed that glosses had an overall large effect size on L2 vocabulary acquisition (Hedge's g = 1.27); however, the effect size varied from small to large, depending on the level of proficiency of the learners. Concerning the tests type moderator, the effect size was large for recognition test but medium for vocabulary recall test. Results of the DCA (18 cited articles and 802 citing articles) identified 10 core papers, with highly significant co-citations, and 257 citing references, indicating the highly thematic relatedness of the target studies, and citing references to the issue under investigation. Purpose: Due to the financial disturbances created by the COVID-19 pandemic and the burden on the government exchequer, it is expected to see a rise in the knowledge base of the research corpus so far as the government's fiscal sustainability is concerned. Therefore, the present research examines a systematic quantitative analysis of public debt sustainability research by applying a bibliometric approach. Research also analyzes journals, institutions, countries and authors contributing to public debt sustainability. Design/methodology/approach: This paper scrutinizes the published scientific research on public debt sustainability based on the dataset of 535 articles from 1991 to 2021 obtained from the Scopus database. Biblioshiny (R-based application) and VoSviewer software were used to perform bibliometric analysis through Performance analysis and science mapping techniques. The authors combined co-citation analysis (CCA), bibliometric analysis, keyword co-occurrence analysis (KCA) and a conceptual thematic map of the most cited articles to find the intellectual structure. Findings: The research identified three dominating clusters, e.g. fiscal sustainability and policy rules, empirical sustainability testing and debt and growth dynamics. Another finding was that most articles were analytical and empirical and few descriptive articles were found. Owing to the empirical nature of the domain, the issues concerning public debt sustainability have continued to change over the past decades for different economies, reflecting the complexity and diversity of economic structures of different economies at different times. Originality/value: The insight of this article provides academicians and researchers with a more refined comprehension of the conceptual and intellectual structure of the research corpus. Karst rocky desertification (KRD) is a serious ecological and environmental issue, hindering the sustainable socio-economic development of the karst area. To scientifically control this issue, lots of studies on KRD vegetation restoration have been conducted in the past few decades. In the present study, a systematic review of the research progress and future trends in KRD vegetation restoration was conducted. The results showed the following: (1) Studies on KRD vegetation restoration began in the 1990s and could be divided into the four following stages: germination (1993–2002), initial development (2003–2010), steady growth (2011–2016), and rapid growth (2017–2023); (2) research hot topics included theoretical implications, vegetation restoration strategies and technologies, ecological responses to the KRD vegetation restoration, and the coupling of vegetation restoration with landscape resource enhancement; (3) the research frontiers were as follows: the classification and restoration effectiveness of KRD vegetation types, the impacts of KRD vegetation restoration on soil microorganisms and soil erosion, the influences of ecological engineering and land use on KRD vegetation restoration, and the relationships between KRD vegetation restorations and karst ecosystem structural functions. Finally, research prospects were proposed from the research methods, perspectives, content, and shortcomings. In spite of the detrimental effects of climate change and decreasing resource efficiency, maize farming is essential to the world's food and nutritional security. With regard to sustainable maize farming in this environment, conservation agriculture (CA) offers a framework that holds promise in terms of low soil disturbance, perennial soil cover, and sustainable crop rotation. In order to acquire more profound information on the research advancements and publication patterns related to maize under CA scenarios, a bibliometric analysis was conducted. This involved utilizing René Descartes's Discourse Framework to extract and screen 2587 documents spanning the years 2001 to 2023 from the Dimensions.ai database. The mapping showed that different stakeholders were becoming more interested in maize research under various CA pathways, with a greater emphasis on reaching the second sustainable development target, or "zero hunger". The most influential journals were "Soil and Tillage Research" and "Field Crops Research", with 131 and 85 papers with 6861 and 6186 citations, respectively. The performance analysis found "Christian L. Thierfelder" and "Mangi Lal Jat" as the eminent researchers in the areas of maize research under CA. Thus, the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) and the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) were identified as the important institutions in conducting research pertaining to maize under CA systems, while the United States, India, and Mexico emerged as prominent countries with notable collaboration efforts for imparting research under the given scenarios. Three thematic clusters delineating keywords from three distinct sections—key drivers, objectives, and methodology—were identified through co-word analysis using word clouds, tree maps, and thematic networking of the keywords from the abstract and titles of screened publications. These thematic clusters highlighted the growing emphasis on region-specific studies under CA, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa and the Indo-Gangetic plain, to enhance the resilience of the agri-food system. Therefore, mapping maize's potentialities within the CA framework has revealed the field's dynamic nature and offers insightful information to researchers and policymakers that could help them plan future studies and cooperative initiatives aimed at boosting the productivity and sustainability of maize-based systems under the CA framework. Community-based tourism (CBT) is part of East Asia's tourism landscape as local communities seek to diversify their livelihoods towards tourism. However, little is known about the evolution of research surrounding CBT in the region. Through undertaking a bibliometric analysis of 401 Scopus-indexed articles, this research found that CBT practices have increasingly questioned the legitimacy and authenticity of its value to local communities. Findings also illustrated most studies centred on China, and co-authorship networks mostly occurring between research supervisors and their students. Sustainability and digitization have become significant parts of the global economy in recent years. Numerous studies examine the relationship between sustainability's environmental concerns and digitization. In contrast, few studies address the topic of organizational, environmental, and socioeconomic sustainability's integration with digital technologies. This paper intends to fill this void by conducting a bibliometric analysis of the relevant literature. Along with descriptive insights, we explain the area's social, intellectual, and conceptual structures, its evolution, and its future agenda. The article discusses how technology adaption improves individuals' and companies' efficacy, performance, and profitability. Second, the article suggests more funding to produce environmentally friendly, greener technologies that can promote inclusive economic models and spur sustainable growth. Third, the article explores explore technology's social and ethical implications, highlighting the need to consider gender, race, ethnicity, and location when digitizing the world. By drawing on extant evidence and integrating findings, the research concludes by providing a fresh academic and policy contribution to the twin fields of digitalization and sustainability. This paper conducts a bibliometric analysis and a review of existing literature focusing on past 20 years (2000–2019) of research on corporate risk disclosures. The bibliometric data are gathered from two of the most widely referred repositories: Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus. The paper analysed various performance parameters such as research growth, most productive and highly cited authors, top source journal, affiliation analysis (institution-wise and country-wise), annual publication output, country affiliation analysis, document-based citation analysis, cited author-based co-citation Analysis and Top 30 highly influential papers from both databases WoS and Scopus. Apart from this, based on bibliometric analysis, authors' country of origin, document-based citation analysis and cited authors-based co-citation analysis are visualized using VOSviewer software. Using a combination of co-citation and co-word analysis, this paper reviewed the intellectual structure of the sales ethics research domain and its development over time. This multi-method bibliometric analysis included 183 sales ethics articles published between 1990 and 2020. Using co-citation analysis, we identified intellectual clusters within the research domain and explored the evolution of these clusters across three decades. We further leveraged co-word analysis to identify core themes (keywords) and delineated the field's changing landscape. The evolutionary trends and keyword network disconnections (i.e., structural holes) suggest promising areas for future research. In particular, our analyses identified potentially fruitful opportunities related to topics such as compensation, relationship marketing outcomes, salesperson job attitudes and well-being, training, sales force control, and sales technology. Purpose: This article aims to investigate the status of and the trends in the intertwining of crowdfunding and innovation literature by identifying, evaluating and synthesizing the findings from previous research. This paper provides a bibliometric meta-analysis of the already substantial and growing literature on innovation and crowdfunding research. Design/methodology/approach: Using a bibliometric approach, this research scrutinizes all articles that include terms related to "crowdfunding" and "innovation" (in their title, abstract or keywords) in Elsevier's Scopus database. VosViewer and Bibliometrix package in R have been used to analyse 150 articles. Findings: The results suggest that there are three main research clusters in the innovation and crowdfunding literature. The first cluster highlights the role of crowdfunding in fostering radical and incremental innovation. The second cluster focuses on the concept of openness and its effect on innovation in crowdfunding campaigns, while the third cluster explains the role of platforms' innovation in crowdfunding success. Originality/value: Taking a holistic perspective, this contribution advances new knowledge on the intertwining of crowdfunding and innovation research fields. It implies that crowdfunding is facilitating the flow of knowledge between different stakeholders, including project initiators and crowd investors, among others, as they all benefit from open innovation platforms. Objective: The paper conducts a network analysis of the fragmented literature on brand and addiction. Method: A thematic map, thematic evolution, word cloud, co-citation analysis, and cooperation networks were utilized to identify brand addiction study trends and topics. Results: The data show that marketing and psychiatry have interdisciplinary groupings and multidisciplinary publications. These groups reflect societal changes, particularly the shift from traditional to digital challenges. Fast food addiction is different from alcohol and cigarette addictions due to its ease and extensive marketing. The decline in internet and gambling addiction suggests a shift in priorities. Conclusions: This research helps researchers, policymakers, and practitioners in addiction prevention and intervention. The purpose of this study was to conduct a bibliometric analysis of the Resource Description and Access (RDA) research in library and information science journals in Web of Science. Two hundred and fifty-eight journal articles related to RDA were extracted from Web of Science for analysis for the period between 2006 and 2020. A descriptive analysis of the most productive authors, institutions, countries, and journals and the most cited authors was conducted. To illuminate the major themes, the selected articles were also subjected to a co-word analysis and a document co-citation analysis using the visualization tool VOSviewer. The co-word analysis revealed five clusters of themes: (1) RDA implementation, (2) RDA and other metadata standards and technologies, (3) RDA and FRBR, FRAD and ISBD, (4) RDA and Anglo-American Cataloging Rules, (5) RDA and descriptive cataloging, authority control, catalogers, and training. The document co-citation analysis identified two distinctive clusters of themes: RDA testing, training and implementation, and RDA and FRBR-related conceptual models. An analysis of the temporal evolution of the themes showed that other metadata standards and technologies, especially linked data, and Bibframe, received more attention in recent years. Pay-What-You-Want (PWYW), is a pricing strategy increasingly applied in many different industries, both profitable and not. This study aims to identify influential cited works in PWYW research, determine the current status, and indicate the extent to which influential works have shaped the field addressing this concern, a set of bibliometric analyses conducted in this paper. The analysis was carried out on 136 research papers published between 2009 and 2022 have been analyzed based on Web of Science Core Collection (WoS) results. In order to identify the most cited authors and works, the co-citation analysis was applied. To scrutinize the intellectual structure of the field, bibliometric coupling was applied, to show the network structure of the themes, co-word analysis was applied. The aim of this paper is to examine the periodic changes within the content of tourism distribution channels and identify key themes in this field. The study will be able to identify changes and trends by examining through scientific/academic research.A bibliometric method was employed. About 6245 publications in the Web of Science database were analyzed using VOS viewer, as the study tool. The results show an increasing trend in scientific publications on distribution channels in field of tourism by the last decade. The year 2019 held highest rank in terms of the total number of scientific papers published per year with 813 articles, and the highest citation rate belongs to 2017 with 10037 citations. Also, the majority of the publications in this field were original research articles (57.90%), and Law R., Buhalis D., Pan B., and Xiang Z. were identified as the most productive and most-cited researchers. Besides, co-authorship network visualization of journals in the field of tourism distribution channels was implemented. Co-word analysis was then used to track the evolution of research themes over time. The key themes are Single-channel, Dual-channel, Multi-channel, Cross-channel, and Omni-channel. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to identify major research topics and propose future research directions for the short food supply chains (SFSCs) by conducting a comprehensive bibliometric analysis. Design/methodology/approach: A step-by-step literature review was performed. A total of 684 scientific papers were retrieved from Scopus, dated between 2000 and 2020. Then, content analysis was conducted based on 162 articles selected from the co-citation analysis. Bibexcel and Gephi software were employed to analyse, integrate and visualize the data. Findings: The results of the descriptive analysis provided insights into publication trends, prominent countries, institutions and journal sources, which had not been fully captured or evaluated by previous reviews. In the citation analysis, the authors determined the highly cited papers based on the global citation. Additionally, in the co-citation analysis, the authors derived six research clusters, identified research gaps in each of six clusters and then suggested possible future research directions. This study reviews the literature published on job crafting using bibliometric techniques. It utilizes the papers published on the topic from 1990 to 2023, retrieved from the Scopus database. The purpose of the paper is to draw the intellectual, conceptual and social structure of the field of research on job crafting. It uses the bibliometric method to review the literature on "job crafting." The findings of the study reveal both the micro and macro aspect of the research published so far such as Europe is the epicenter of research on the topic, while experiments and questionnaires a popular choice in methods adopted. This review gives a unique view of the past and outlines a number of future directions for research on the topic and it will be of interest to existing scholars in the field as well as doctoral students who might be interested in the topic. This paper reviews influencer marketing (IM)-research in the tourism and hospitality (H&T) field to provide a state-of-the-art of the past, present, and future of IM-research. It identifies research themes, theoretical underpinnings, and methodologies utilized in IM-research. Seventy-five studies are examined through co-citation, bibliographic coupling and content analysis based on the TCCM (theory/context/characteristics/methodology) framework. Co-citation analysis reveals that IM-research focused on travel blogs, vlogs, celebrity endorsement, influencer authenticity. An assessment of recent studies through bibliographic coupling indicates a partial shift toward the study of more contemporary issues. Cognition and emotion play important roles in information systems (IS) research, yet existing studies have not provided a comprehensive picture of these issues in the IS field. In this study, a citation network including 2,061 related academic articles published between 1996 and 2019 is established. Two novel indicators are proposed, through which 57 influential articles are identified, namely annual average degree centrality (AADC) and annual average betweenness centrality (AABC). A backward search process is performed preceding the co-citation analysis to exhaustively collect co-citation data. The continuous increase in the volume of geospatial data has led to the creation of storage tools and the cloud to process data. Google Earth Engine (GEE) is a cloud-based platform that facilitates geoprocessing, making it a tool of great interest to the academic and research world. This article proposes a bibliometric analysis of the GEE platform to analyze its scientific production. The methodology consists of four phases. The first phase corresponds to selecting "search" criteria, followed by the second phase focused on collecting data during the 2011 and 2022 periods using Elsevier's Scopus database. Software and bibliometrics allowed to review the published articles during the third phase. Finally, the results were analyzed and interpreted in the last phase. The research found 2800 documents that received contributions from 125 countries, with China and the USA leading as the countries with higher contributions supporting an increment in the use of GEE for the visualization and processing of geospatial data. The intellectual structure study and knowledge mapping showed that topics of interest included satellites, sensors, remote sensing, machine learning, land use and land cover. The co-citations analysis revealed the connection between the researchers who used the GEE platform in their research papers. GEE has proven to be an emergent web platform with the potential to manage big satellite data easily. Furthermore, GEE is considered a multidisciplinary tool with multiple applications in various areas of knowledge. This research adds to the current knowledge about the Google Earth Engine platform, analyzing its cognitive structure related to the research in the Scopus database.
