Higher education in recent years has witnessed dynamic changes due to the Coronavirus pandemic to the extent that a new term, 'new normal,' originated. In this regard, teaching and learning processes have significantly become dependent on digital technologies to warrant emphasis being laid on digital literacy skills, which many learners lack. In order words, the growing prominence of the Internet and other digital environments as educational tools requires research regarding learners' digital literacy and the role of librarians in supporting learning in the new normal. Digital literacy is the learners' ability to locate, organise, understand, evaluate, and create information using digital technology effectively for everyday tasks. Therefore, the paper's thrust is in the role of librarians as information providers in higher institutions of learning in promoting reading, teaching, research, and learning culture among the citizenry in the digital environment. Also, the paper gives an insight into the digital environment and the various e-learning platforms such as Moodle, Google classroom and so on. It concluded by recommending digital literacy skills inclusion in the school curriculum. Higher institutions should set clear policies that provide the appropriate learning environment to facilitate technology and libraries to support context learning and promote elearning platforms in every discipline. This paper presents the Mindfulness Framework for implementing mindfulness into Information Literacy instruction. The Mindfulness Framework is informed by findings from an original survey of the most preferred Information Literacy teaching strategies deployed by nearly 600 academic librarians in the United States and Canada, and grounded in the relevant literature from library and information science and education. Survey responses show that library instructors use a broad variety of teaching strategies, and the authors attempt to demonstrate how these strategies can support the integration of mindfulness into IL instruction. Using mindfulness strategies in other pedagogical contexts has been shown to improve learning and retention. This is the first paper to explore and discuss how librarians can use familiar strategies to integrate mindfulness into information literacy instruction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

his paper proposes teaching strategies and techniques for library instruction in academic libraries to achieve the intended goals. The recommendations are based on insights from previous research IN library instruction with the intention to identify possible strategies and techniques for different user groups. This study applied a systematic literature review method, using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) protocol to examine the use of teaching strategies and techniques in library instruction programs. The Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus databases were searched for relevant literature using specific keywords. Applying the inclusion criteria, a total of 27 articles out of the 1380 documents extracted, were deemed relevant to the study. The results show that library instruction is usually conducted in the form of individual sessions. Teaching strategies used by librarians include flipped classroom, faux flip, class room teaching, research clinic, consultation, asynchronous learning, and online synchronous learning, among others. These teaching strategies improved engagement and relationships between students and librarians, while impacting critical thinking, confidence and self-directed learning. It is concluded that librarians should consider adopting and combining teaching strategies based on individual needs and use technology to improve teaching effectiveness and increase student learning. This study shows that most studies on library instruction have only partially addressed instructional strategies. A critical review of the literature revealed that a strategic shift in the management of library instruction is necessary to achieve the intended outcomes. This paper will examine the findings of a survey on the job roles and responsibilities of Education librarians (academic librarians with liaison responsibilities for the field of Education). Existing literature on Education librarianship has focused on particular facets of the job role, including the unique instructional needs of Education students and specific instruction and outreach initiatives. However, the literature lacks a comprehensive picture of the full spectrum of contemporary Education librarianship. Personal development, development of society, development of country and nation is based on education Indian culture has been the culture of Rushimunis and Vedas since time immemorial. At that time, in order to acquire knowledge, studies were done in ashrams which included knowledge, art. skills, theology, practical knowledge, etc. Recognizing the importance of education in the country, it is imperative that every member of the society, parents of students, experts in various disciplines, and the government should always strive for the spread of education. However, since the current education system is library-based, it is appropriate to say that the library is also taking advantage of this opportunity. It is no exaggeration to say that the library is the people's university and the librarian is also called the teacher of the teacher. From the above matter, it is clear that the responsibility of shaping the future citizens is in the hands of the library profession as the library plays an important role in education both formal and informal. For example, just as an expen doctor can save his patient's life, an expert lawyer can save his client from punishment, an expert trader can give his client the best thing, in the same way. a library professional can give accurate information to his users and can make him a subject matter expert. Thus, since the literacy rate of the country is hidden in the hands of library professionals in addition to educational institutions, every library professionals should be educated and for this, he should get an education in library science. It is also important to note that their curriculum needs to change over time. The present article is an attempt to introduce the origins, objectives, dissemination of library science education in India, and especially the status of library science education in the field of higher education in various universities of Gujarat state and its current curriculum. This study aims to examine and compare the trends of information literacy research in Korea and in some English-speaking other countries in the last two decades from 2001 to 2020 through keyword network analysis. With regard to English-speaking countries, author keywords were collected from articles retrieved from the Scopus database using the search term "information literacy." For the Korean LIS field, the author keywords were collected from articles retrieved through a Korean academic database called "KCI" using the search term "information literacy." For other countries, a total of 1163 articles and 2454 author keywords were collected for this study. Among these author keywords, the top 10 that appeared most were "academic libraries," "library education," "assessment," "collaboration," "higher education," "undergraduate students," "e-learning," "information literacy instruction," "instruction," and "instructional design." By comparison, a total of 120 articles and 352 author keywords were collected for this study in Korea. Among the keywords, eight that appeared most frequently were "information literacy instruction," "school libraries," "school librarians," "library education," "academic libraries," "information services," "user education," and "public libraries." Based on the study results, some recommendations for Korea's IL research can be made as follows: First, particular attention needs to be given to the subjects of "assessment" and "collaboration" related to IL research. Second, the research related to the subject of IL has been carried out by a few researchers majoring in school libraries. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on academic institutions led to rapid shifts from person-to-person services to fully online services in the spring of 2020. These shifts presented unique challenges for graduate practicums and internships—experiences that bolster students' job-preparedness before graduation. An internship at the Louisiana State University (LSU) Libraries in the United States, originally structured as face-to-face and hands-on, shifted to a hybrid experience in which a graduate student worked with two librarians through a combination of in-person and virtual meetings. The librarians aimed to implement a hybrid internship that provided as authentic and informative an experience for the intern as an in-person internship. This article discusses the planning and implementation of the hybrid internship. It highlights benefits to the intern, including the adaptability of the hybrid program, learning in multiple formats, and opportunities for networking, and the challenges of altering the original plan for the internship. The article explores the application of relationship and relational thinking to academic librarians' teaching practices through Harriet L. Schwartz's model of relational or Connected Teaching in his book "Connected Teaching: Relationship, Power, and Matering in Higher Education." Topics include views on one-shot or a one-time-only information literacy workshop, arguments on the duration of teaching interactions to Connected Teaching, and the application of Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT).

The aim of this study was to examine transformations in academic library spaces in Ghana. A quantitative approach was adopted for this study. Data was collected using Google Forms. A total of 98 librarians from five academic libraries in Ghana, which represents less than 10% of all librarians in academic libraries in Ghana, participated in the study. The data collected was analysed using R4.0 programming software and is presented using charts and tables. Eighty-one per cent (81%) of the participants agreed that their libraries were moving from "book-centred" to "technology-supported and learning-centred" libraries engineered by emerging technologies and the changing demand of academic library users. It was found that the librarians in the study had moderate to low skills in providing advanced technological support to users in creating, capturing, editing, and sharing multimedia (video, audio, text, images) content for their research, teaching, and learning purposes. The results from the multinomial regression analysis with p values shows that the availability of information technology (IT) facilities, their usability and the skills of librarians were significant, revealing that they have effects on the levels of library space transformation. The capabilities of librarians should be improved from undertaking basic computing tasks to providing advanced support to their users. Stakeholders and academic library management should encourage their young librarians to further their education and engage in continuous professional development programmes. Libraries should develop strategies to secure the necessary funding to integrate IT facilities. The Covid-19 pandemic has necessitated a tremendous shift in library services. Librarians need to equip themselves with the necessary skills to provide efficient services to the users. The objective of this study is to discover the digital skills possessed by the librarians and to evaluate the services that they are providing during the post pandemic era. Survey research was adopted and a structured questionnaire was used to collect data from the librarians working in the various higher education institutions in the State of Goa, India. Of the 64 institutions, 45 (70%) library professionals responded. The study found that most librarians lack the digital skills necessary.
