Discretization schemes such as Euler method and Runge–Kutta techniques are extensively used to find approximate solutions of Continuous-Time (CT) dynamical system. While the approximation is good for small discretization step sizes, as pointed out by Lorenz, when the step size increases, computational chaos and computational instability are frequently observed, the former phenomenon being a precursor to the latter. By computational instability, it is meant that there is a blow up of trajectories for the Discrete-Time (DT) system. Computational chaos instead means that for certain step sizes, the DT system displays chaos while the CT counterpart is not chaotic. This paper studies the dynamics of a class of second-order maps obtained via the discretization of a Memristor Murali–Lakshmanan–Chua Circuit (MMLCC). The discretization, which is based on the DT Flux–Charge Analysis Method (FCAM), guarantees that the first integrals of a CT-MMLCC are preserved exactly for the DT system. Hence the dynamics of DT-MMLCC evolves on invariant manifolds and it is characterized by the coexistence of infinitely many different attractors (extreme multistability). The paper uses analytic techniques introduced by Marotto, based on the concept of snapback repellers and transverse homoclinic orbits, to study the chaotic behaviors of the maps. Regions of the parameter space are singled out where there exist snapback repellers for DT-MMLCC, thus implying that the maps display chaos in the Marotto and in the Li–Yorke sense. Since the corresponding CT-MMLCC does not display chaos, the observed chaos of DT-MMLCC is genuinely a consequence of the discretization scheme used in the paper, i.e. it can be actually considered as computational chaos. It is also verified that computational chaos is a precursor to computational instability of the DT-MMLCC maps. Introduction: Existing studies suggest that the number of night shifts may impact the occurrence of adverse events. However, while this relationship is well-documented, previous research has not thoroughly examined the non-linear associations between night shifts and adverse events among nursing staff, which remains a gap in our understanding. Methods: Participants were 1,774 Chinese nurse staff. Psychosocial characteristics were screened by The Chinese version of the multidimensional scale of perceived social support (MSPSS) for social support, the 9-item Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) for depressive symptoms, the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7) for anxiety symptoms. Binary logistic regression and restricted cubic splines were applied to analyze the data. The statistical software used were R version 3.6.2 and SPSS version 22.0. Results: Over the past year, 325 cases (18.3%) were classified as adverse events. Logistic regression unveiled that social support played a protective role against adverse events, with an OR of 0.991 (95% CI: 0.983, 0.999). Furthermore, night shifts continued to surface as a substantial risk factor for adverse events, with an OR to 1.300 (95% CI: 1.181, 1.431). The restricted cubic spline regression model highlights a nonlinear relationship between night shifts and adverse events (P for non-liner < 0.001). The probability of adverse events increases with the number of night shifts, but compared to individuals working 3–4 night shifts per month, those working 5–6 night shifts per month have a lower probability of adverse events. Conclusion: Our findings indicate a non-linear relationship between the frequency of night shifts and adverse events, suggesting a complex interplay of factors. This highlights the need for nursing practice and policy to consider the intricacies of night shift scheduling and explore more reasonable rostering strategies to mitigate the probability of adverse events. Background: Primary care is often described as slow to change. But conceptualized through complexity theory, primary care is continually changing in unpredictable, non-linear ways through self-organization processes. Self-organization has proven hard to study directly. We aimed to develop a methodology to study self-organization and describe how a primary care clinic self-organizes over time. Methodology: We completed a virtual case study of an urban primary care clinic from May-Nov 2021, applying methodological insights from actor-network theory to examine the complexity theory concept of self-organization. We chose to focus our attention on self-organization activities that alter organizational routines. Data included fieldnotes of observed team meetings, document collection, interviews with clinic members, and notes from brief weekly discussions to detect actions to change clinical and administrative routines. Adapting schema analysis, we described changes to different organizational routines chronologically, then explored intersecting changes. We sought feedback on results from the participating clinic. Findings: Re-establishing equilibrium remained challenging well into the COVID-19 pandemic. The primary care clinic continued to self-organize in response to changing health policies, unintended consequences of earlier adaptations, staff changes, and clinical care initiatives. Physical space, technologies, external and internal policies, guidelines, and clinic members all influenced self-organization. Changing one created ripple effects, sometimes generating new, unanticipated problems. Member checking confirmed we captured most of the changes to organizational routines during the case study period. Conclusions: Through insights from actor-network theory, applied to studying actions taken that alter organizational routines, it is possible to operationalize the theoretical construct of self-organization. Our methodology illuminates the primary care clinic as a continually changing entity with co-existing and intersecting processes of self-organization in response to varied change pressures. This interdisciplinary study critically analyzes current research, establishing a profound connection between sea water, sea ice, sea temperature, and surface temperature through a 4D hyperchaotic Caputo fractional differential equation. Emphasizing the collective impact on climate, focusing on challenges from anthropogenic global warming, the study scrutinizes theoretical aspects, including existence and uniqueness. Two sliding mode controllers manage chaos in this 4D fractional system, assessed amid uncertainties and disruptions. The global stability of these controlled systems is also confirmed, considering both commensurate and non-commensurate 4D fractional order. To demonstrate the intricate chaotic motion within the system, we employ the Lyapunov exponent and Poincare sections. Numerical simulations are conducted by using the predictor-corrector method. Atherosclerosis, a leading cause of cardiovascular disease, necessitates advanced and innovative modeling techniques to better understand and predict plaque dynamics. The present work presents two distinct hypothetical models inspired by different research fields: the logistic map from chaos theory and Markov models from stochastic processes. The logistic map effectively models the nonlinear progression and sudden changes in plaque stability, reflecting the chaotic nature of atherosclerotic events. In contrast, Markov models, including traditional Markov chains, spatial Markov models, and Markov random fields, provide a probabilistic framework to assess plaque stability and transitions. Spatial Markov models, visualized through heatmaps, highlight the spatial distribution of transition probabilities, emphasizing local interactions and dependencies. Markov random fields incorporate complex spatial interactions, inspired by advances in physics and computational biology, but present challenges in parameter estimation and computational complexity. While these hypothetical models offer promising insights, they require rigorous validation with real-world data to confirm their accuracy and applicability. This paper investigates the Li–Yorke chaos in linear systems with weak topology on Hilbert spaces. A weak topology induced by bounded linear functionals is first constructed. Under this weak topology, it is shown that the weak Li–Yorke chaos can be equivalently measured by an irregular or a semi-irregular vector, which are utilized to establish criteria for the weak Li–Yorke chaos of diagonalizable operators, Jordan blocks, and upper triangular operators. In particular, for a linear operator that can be decomposed into a direct sum of finite-dimensional Jordan blocks, it is Li–Yorke chaotic in weak topology if its point spectrum contains a pair of real opposite eigenvalues with absolute values not less than 1, or a pair of complex conjugate eigenvalues with moduli not less than 1. Interestingly, as a specific example of upper triangular operator, the existence of Li–Yorke chaos in weak topology can be derived for a class of linear operators expressed as the direct sum of finite-dimensional Jordan blocks and a strongly irreducible operator. The objective of this work is to investigate the complex dynamics of a discrete predator–prey system using the method of piecewise constant argument for discretization. An analysis is conducted to examine the presence and stability of fixed points. Furthermore, the system is shown to undergo period-doubling (PD) and Neimark–Sacker (NS) bifurcations by the use of center manifold and bifurcation theories. The feedback and hybrid control strategies are used to regulate the system's bifurcating and chaotic behaviors. Both strategies seem to be effective in managing bifurcation and chaos inside the system. Finally, the main results are validated by numerical evidence. Parameters of the system are varied to produce time graphs, phase portraits, bifurcation diagrams, and maximum Lyapunov exponent (MLE) graphs. This research investigates the interaction between a generalist predator and a prey, where the predator exhibits cooperative behavior during hunting, inducing fear into the prey population. Additionally, both the prey and predator populations are subject to harvesting. The study establishes the positivity and boundedness of the model's solutions, ensuring the existence of the population. Analyzing the system, we explore its feasible steady states and their stability, along with various types of bifurcations, including Hopf with direction of stability, Saddle-node, Transcritical, Homoclinic, Bogdanov–Takens, and Cusp bifurcation. We also demonstrate the stability and bifurcation behavior of a delayed system. These findings are verified through one-parameter and two-parameter bifurcation structures, complemented by respective phase portraits. Notably, the system displays transition between different equilibria and bistability. This research explores the complex dynamics of a Novel Four-Dimensional Fractional Supply Chain System (NFDFSCS) that integrates a quadratic interaction term involving the actual demand of customers and the inventory level of distributors. The introduction of the quadratic term results in significantly larger maximal Lyapunov exponents (MLE) compared to the original model, indicating increased system complexity. The existence, uniqueness, and Ulam–Hyers stability of the proposed system are verified. Additionally, we establish the global Mittag-Leffler attractive set (MLAS) and Mittag-Leffler positive invariant set (MLPIS) for the system. Numerical simulations and MATLAB phase portraits demonstrate the chaotic nature of the proposed system. Furthermore, a dynamical analysis achieves verification via the Lyapunov exponents, a bifurcation diagram, a 0–1 test, and a complexity analysis. A new numerical approximation method is proposed to solve non-linear fractional differential equations, utilizing fractional differentiation with a non-singular and non-local kernel. These numerical simulations illustrate the primary findings, showing that both external and internal factors can accelerate the process. Furthermore, a robust control scheme is designed to stabilize the system in finite time, effectively suppressing chaotic behaviors. In this paper, we present a new class of extended oscillators in light of chaos theory. It is based on dynamical complex systems built on the concept of self-describing with a stopping criterion process. We offer an effective studying approach with a specific focus on learning, provoking students' thinking through the triad of enigmatics–creativity–acmeology. Dynamic processes are the basis of mathematical modeling; thus, we can reach the goal of the above-mentioned triad by the proposed differential systems. The results we derive strongly confirm the presence of symmetry in the outcomes of the proposed models. We suggest a stochastic approach to structuring the proposed dynamical systems by modeling the coefficients that drive them by some discrete probability distribution that exhibits symmetry or asymmetry. It is widely acknowledged that fluidelastic instability (FEI), among other mechanisms, is of the greatest concern in the flow-induced vibration (FIV) of tube bundles in steam generators and heat exchangers. A range of theoretical models have been developed for FEI analysis, and, in addition to the earliest semi-empirical Connors' model, the unsteady model, the quasi-steady model and the semi-analytical model are believed to be three advanced models predominant in the literature. The unsteady and the quasi-static models share the merits of having explicit fluid force expressions and ease of being implemented but require more experimental inputs, whereas the semi-analytical model requires fewer parameters due to its analytical nature but is hard, if not prohibitive, to derive explicit fluid force expressions. Since the fluid force formulations set in the core of development of FEI models, the understanding and in particular the implementation of the semi-analytical model has been impaired by the nonexistence of explicit fluid force expression. This issue becomes more profound in time-domain analysis whereby the simple harmonic assumption is discarded. Here we report a new semi-analytical time-domain (SATD) FEI model with explicit fluid force expressions. The new model allows a consistent frequency-domain stability analysis and more importantly a truly time-domain response analysis. The theory was validated by calculating linear stability thresholds of two typical tube array patterns and comparing against reported experimental data. We then present a nonlinear time-domain analysis of a single loosely-supported tube with piece-wise linear stiffness. The nonlinear and nonsmooth dynamics was probed in details by utilizing various techniques, playing an emphasis on characterizing and distinguishing the chaotic vibration. We found that the system follows a quasi-periodic route to chaos. Such an in-depth study of the nonlinear dynamics of tubes in crossflow has never been reported in the context of SATD model. The Internet of Multimedia Things (IoMT) refers to a network of interconnected multimedia devices that communicate with each other over the Internet. Recently, smart healthcare has emerged as a significant application of the IoMT, particularly in the context of knowledge‐based learning systems. Smart healthcare systems leverage knowledge‐based learning to become more context‐aware, adaptable, and auditable while maintaining the ability to learn from historical data. In smart healthcare systems, devices capture images, such as X‐rays, Magnetic Resonance Imaging. The security and integrity of these images are crucial for the databases used in knowledge‐based learning systems to foster structured decision‐making and enhance the learning abilities of AI. Moreover, in knowledge‐driven systems, the storage and transmission of HD medical images exert a burden on the limited bandwidth of the communication channel, leading to data transmission delays. To address the security and latency concerns, this paper presents a lightweight medical image encryption scheme utilising bit‐plane decomposition and chaos theory. The results of the experiment yield entropy, energy, and correlation values of 7.999, 0.0156, and 0.0001, respectively. This validates the effectiveness of the encryption system proposed in this paper, which offers high‐quality encryption, a large key space, key sensitivity, and resistance to statistical attacks. In this paper, we investigate a discrete-time prey-predator model. The model is formulated by using the piecewise constant argument method for differential equations and taking into account Holling type III. The existence and local behavior of equilibria are studied. We established that the system experienced both Neimark-Sacker and perioddoubling bifurcations analytically by using bifurcation theory and the center manifold theorem. Chaotic time series prediction is a prediction method based on chaos theory, and has important theoretical and application value. At present, most prediction methods only pursue digital fitting and do not consider the directional trend. In addition, using the single model will not achieve better prediction results. Therefore, a chaotic time series combined prediction model for improving trend lagging (ITL) is proposed. An improved dual‐stage attention‐based long short‐term memory model with the improved training objective fuction is designed to solve the trend lagging problem. Then, an auto regressive moving average model with the sliding window is established to mine other characteristics of the time series except nonlinear characteristic. Finally, the idea of optimization algorithm is introduced to construct a time series combined prediction model with high accuracy based on the above two models, so as to perform the chaotic time series prediction from multiple perspectives. Multiple datasets are selected as experimental datasets, and the proposed method is compared with common prediction methods. The results show that the proposed method can achieve single‐step prediction with high accuracy and effectively improve the lagging of chaotic time series prediction. The design of chaotic systems with complex dynamic behaviors has always been a key aspect of chaos theory in engineering applications. This study introduces a novel fractional-order system characterized by hidden dynamics, hyperchaotic behavior, and multi-scroll attractors. By employing fractional calculus, the system's order is extended beyond integer values, providing a richer dynamic behavior. The system's hidden dynamics are revealed through detailed numerical simulations and theoretical analysis, demonstrating complex attractors and bifurcations. The hyperchaotic nature of the system is verified through Lyapunov exponents and phase portraits, showing multiple positive exponents that indicate a higher degree of unpredictability and complexity. Additionally, the system's multi-scroll attractors are analyzed, showcasing their potential for secure communication and encryption applications. The fractional-order approach enhances the system's flexibility and adaptability, making it suitable for a wide range of practical uses, including secure data transmission, image encryption, and complex signal processing. Finally, based on the proposed fractional-order system, we designed a simple and efficient medical image encryption scheme and analyzed its security performance. This article introduces and formalizes a novel stochastic method that combines inverse simulation with the theory of generalized Polynomial Chaos (gPC) to solve and study inverse problems under uncertainty in energy system design applications. The method is particularly relevant to design tasks where only a deterministic forward model of a physical system is available, in which a target design quantity is an input to the model that cannot be obtained directly, but can be quantified reversely via the outputs of the model. In this scenario, the proposed method offers an analytical and direct approach to invert such system models. The method puts emphasis on user-friendliness, as it enables its users to conduct the inverse simulation under uncertainty directly in the gPC domain by redefining basic algebra operations for computations. Moreover, the method incorporates an optimization-based approach to integrate supplementary constraints on stochastic quantities. This feature enables the solution of inverse problems bounding the statistical moments of stochastic system variables. The authors exemplify the application of the proposed method with proof-of-concept tests in energy system design, specifically performing uncertainty quantification and sensitivity analysis for a Multi-Energy System (MES). The findings demonstrate the high accuracy of the method as well as clear advantages over conventional sampling-based methods when dealing with a small number of stochastic variables in a system or model. The present work presents the investigation of the dynamics and influence of chaotic behavior on energy capture for a U-shaped structure (portal frame) that contains shape memory alloy (SMA), piezoelectric material (PZT), a nonlinear energy sink (NES) and a non-ideal excitation source represented by an unbalanced electric motor coupled to the U-structure. The mathematical model presents nonlinearities arising from the nonlinear stiffness of the U-structure, the NES system, the SMA, and the PZT material. Chaotic behavior is assessed through time history, bifurcation diagrams, phase diagrams, and the 0–1 test. Energy capture is carried out through a piezoelectric material (PZT), represented by a non-linear electromechanical coupling model, and electromagnetic induction generated by the non-linear electromagnetic energy sink coupled to the structure (NES). Dynamic analysis is performed through parametric analysis of parameters related to piezoelectric coupling and NES parameters. Numerical simulations demonstrate that the system has chaotic behavior for specific parameters and that its energy capture is influenced by parametric variation. It is shown numerically that the parameters of the SMA material, the PZT material, and the NES significantly influence the chaotic behavior and energy capture of the investigated electromechanical system. In this paper, we explore the rich dynamics in the Chen system using Runge–Kutta method and Deep Neural Networks (DNNs). Compared with the Lorenz system, we find that the first return map P of the Chen system exhibits a more complex structure of continuous regions in the Poincaré section. Moreover, the existence of six crossing blocks with respect to the second return map implies that there is a closed invariant set Λ in the Poincaré section such that P 2 | Λ is semi-conjugate to a 6-shift map, thus demonstrating remarkably chaos in the Chen system. This work investigates a fractional-order multi-wing chaotic system for detecting weak signals. The influence of the order of fractional calculus on chaotic systems' dynamical behavior is examined using phase diagrams, bifurcation diagrams, and SE complexity diagrams. Then, the principles and methods for determining the frequencies and amplitudes of weak signals are examined utilizing fractional-order multi-wing chaotic systems. The findings indicate that the lowest order at which this kind of fractional-order multi-wing chaotic system appears chaotic is 2.625 at a = 4 , b = 8 , and c = 1 , and that this value decreases as the driving force increases. The four-wing and double-wing change dynamics phenomenon will manifest in a fractional-order chaotic system when the order exceeds the lowest order. This phenomenon can be utilized to detect weak signal amplitudes and frequencies because the system parameters control it. A detection array is built to determine the amplitude using the noise-resistant properties of both four-wing and double-wing chaotic states. Deep learning images are then used to identify the change in the array's wing count, which can be used to determine the test signal's amplitude. When frequencies detection is required, the MUSIC method estimates the frequencies using chaotic synchronization to transform the weak signal's frequencies to the synchronization error's frequencies. This solution adds to the contact between fractional-order calculus and chaos theory. The dynamical behavior of the double-chain deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) system holds significant implications for advancing the understanding of DNA transmission laws in the realms of biology and medicine. This study delves into the investigation of chaos patterns and solitary wave solutions for the (2+1) Beta-fractional double-chain DNA system, employing the theory of planar dynamical systems and the method of complete discrimination system for polynomials (CDSP). The results demonstrate a diverse spectrum of solitary wave solutions, sensitivity to perturbations, and manifestations of chaotic behavior within the system. Through the utilization of the complete discrimination system for polynomials, a multitude of novel solitary wave solutions, encompassing periodic, solitary wave, and Jacobian elliptic function solutions, were systematically constructed. The influence of Beta derivatives on the solutions was elucidated through parameter comparison analysis, emphasizing the innovative nature of this study. The symmetric multi-scroll strange attractor has shown great potential in chaos-based applications due to its high complexity in phase space. Here, the approach of symmetrization is employed for attractor doubling to generate pseudo-multi-scroll attractors in a discrete map, where a carefully selected offset constant is the key to organizing coexisting attractors. By choosing the Hénon map to generate the pseudo-multi-scroll attractor and implementing the digital circuit on a microcontroller, this study fills a significant gap in the research on discrete chaotic systems. The complexity performance is further validated using a pseudo-random number generator, demonstrating substantial academic contributions to the field of chaos theory. Additionally, a pseudo-multi-scroll attractor-based squirrel search algorithm is first developed, showcasing its practical application in mobile robot path planning. This paper introduces a new symmetric fractional-order discrete system. The dynamics and symmetry of the suggested model are studied under two initial conditions, mainly a comparison of the commensurate order and incommensurate order maps, which highlights their effect on symmetry-breaking bifurcations. In addition, a theoretical analysis examines the stability of the zero equilibrium point. It proves that the map generates typical nonlinear features, including chaos, which is confirmed numerically: phase attractors are plotted in a two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) space, bifurcation diagrams are drawn with variations in the derivative fractional values and in the system parameters, and we calculate the Maximum Lyapunov Exponents (MLEs) associated with the bifurcation diagram. Additionally, we use the C 0 algorithm and entropy approach to measure the complexity of the chaotic symmetric fractional map. This work develops a quantum control application of many-body quantum chaos for ultracold bosonic gases trapped in optical lattices. It is long known how to harness exponential sensitivity to changes in initial conditions for control purposes in classically chaotic systems. In the technique known as targeting, instead of a hindrance to control, the instability becomes a resource. Recently, this classical targeting has been generalized to quantum systems either by periodically countering the inevitable quantum state spreading or by introducing a control Hamiltonian, where both enable localized states to be guided along special chaotic trajectories toward any of a broad variety of desired target states. Only strictly unitary dynamics are involved; i.e. it gives a coherent quantum targeting. In this paper, the introduction of a control Hamiltonian is applied to Bose–Hubbard systems in chaotic dynamical regimes. Objective: Dementia is a broad term referring to a decline in problem-solving abilities, language skills, memory, and other cognitive functions to a degree that it significantly disrupts everyday activities. The underlying cause of dementia is the impairment or loss of nerve cells and their connections within the brain. The particular symptoms experienced are contingent upon specific regions of the brain affected by this damage. In this research, we aimed to investigate the nonlinear dynamics of the mixed demented brain compared to healthy subjects using electroencephalogram (EEG) analysis. Method: For this purpose, EEG was recorded from 66 patients with mixed dementia and 65 healthy subjects during rest. After signal preprocessing, sample entropy and Katz fractal dimension analyses were applied to the preprocessed EEG data. Analysis of variance with repeated measures was utilized to compare the nonlinear dynamics of brain activity between dementia and healthy states and partial correlation analysis was employed to explore the relationship between EEG complexity measures and cognitive and neuropsychiatric symptoms of patients. Results: Based on repeated measures ANOVA, there was a significant main effect between groups for both Katz fractal dimension (F = 4.10, P = 0.01) and sample entropy (F = 4.81, P = 0.009) measures. Post hoc comparisons revealed that EEG complexity was significantly reduced in dementia mainly in the occipitoparietal and temporal areas (P < 0.05). MMSE scores were positively correlated with EEG complexity measures, while NPI scores were negatively correlated with EEG complexity measures, mainly in the occipitoparietal and temporal areas (P < 0.05). Moreover, using a KNN classifier, all significant complexity measures yielded the best classification performance with an accuracy of 98.05%, sensitivity of 97.03% and specificity of 99.16% in detecting dementia. Conclusion: This study demonstrated a unique dynamic system within the brain impacted by dementia that results in more predictable patterns of cortical activity mainly in the occipitoparietal and temporal areas. Aiming at the control problem of chaotic motion of a kind of collision vibration system with gap, a chaotic motion control of collision vibration system based on RBF neural network is proposed. Firstly, the system mechanical model and chaotic motion are introduced, and then a chaotic controller based on RBFNN is designed to control and simulate the chaotic attractor. The model information of the system is not used in the control method. In this paper, the model of the system is used only to generate the input / output data of the system, and it is not used for the design of the controller. The parameters of AHGSA algorithm are set as follows: the population size is 30, the maximum number of iterations is 100, G0, a = 18, and the proportional coefficient P = 0.96. Small disturbances are applied to the controllable parameter of the system to suppress the chaotic motion of the system and make the system tend to stable periodic motion. In order to more clearly show the control effect of chaotic motion, the chaotic motion is controlled when the system iterates 400 times. The results show that the chaotic motion can be quickly controlled to periodic 1-1 motion, the phase diagram is a closed curve, and there is a peak in the spectrum diagram. Chaotic motion can be quickly controlled as periodic 2-2 motion, the phase diagram is two closed curves, and two obvious peaks appear in the spectrum diagram. Developing a dynamic model that captures the causal relationships among the various variables impacting economic growth, energy supply, and pricing is crucial for unraveling this complexity. This study aims to delve into the chaotic nature of the energy economy system within the context of economic growth. The research methodology is rooted in a fundamental-applied approach. By employing numerical simulation techniques, specifically utilizing the Simulink MATLAB toolbox, the study seeks to explore and potentially control chaos within the system. The findings highlight the system's nonlinear dynamics, showcasing its sensitivity to initial conditions and exhibiting chaotic behavior, limit cycles, and stable equilibrium points across varying initial values. This research endeavor contributes to a more nuanced understanding of the interplay between energy economics, economic growth, and pricing dynamics.

Chronic myalgias and arthralgias occur after Chikungunya virus infections (pCHIKV- M&A). We report details of treating a 6-years lasting CHIKV-M&A pains with a combination of medications and interventions. The patient had severe pain in bilateral shoulders and elbows; right thumb and back. Response to steroids, sulphasalazine and methotrexate was poor. Examination revealed M&A pains. Medications initiated included Pregabalin, Paracetamol, Tramadol and vitamin D. At two weeks, despite improvement, there were residual pains in bilateral shoulders and elbows. Four weekly sessions (two on each side), of ultrasound-guided dry needling (USGDN) of all muscles of the upper limb was done. Patient reassessment revealed moderate, residual pains at bilateral supraspinatus muscles, bicipital tendons and radio-humeral joints. These pains were addressed by USG guided steroid injection of bilateral- suprascapular nerves, bicipital tendons and radio-humeral joints. Medications reduced pains especially of back and thumb. USGDN of muscles further reduced it by 60%. The interventions at the nerves, entheses and joints gave 90%-100% relief. The pre-intervention Disability of Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH) score of 52.7 reduced to 5.4. At fifth month follow-up, the DASH was15.8, but patient reported satisfaction over pain relief, improvement in daily activities and quality-of-life. There are no evidence-based treatment guidelines or corroborative evidence for rheumatic pathology (most times) for persistent CHIKV-M&A pains. This case-report highlights the successful management of CHIKV-M&A pains by multi-modal approach. USGDN and steroids have neuro-modulatory effects. We have proposed that USGDN aids pain relief by an integrative role with the biologically inherent “chaos theory.”

Abstract One of the biggest problems with Internet of Things (IoT) applications in the real world is ensuring data integrity. This problem becomes increasingly significant as IoT expands quickly across a variety of industries. This study presents a brand-new data integrity methodology for Internet of Things applications. The “sequence sharing” and “data exchange” stages of the suggested protocol are divided into two parts. During the first phase, each pair of nodes uses a new chaotic model for securely exchanging their identity information to generate a common sequence. This phase’s objectives include user authentication and timing calculations for the second phase of the recommended method’s packet validation phase. The recommended approach was tested in numerous settings, and various analyses were taken into account to guarantee its effectiveness. Also, the results were compared with the conventional data integrity control protocol of IoT. According to the results, the proposed method is an efficient and cost-effective integrity-ensuring mechanism with eliminates the need for third-party auditors and leads to reducing energy consumption and packet overhead. The results also show that the suggested approach is safe against a variety of threats and may be used as a successful integrity control mechanism in practical applications.

Chaos identification can not only promote the development and perfection of chaos theory, but also help to find the factors that produce chaos in the considered system, and control or anti-control it. The 0–1 test for chaos is an effective method to detect chaos. In order to simulate the noise contaminated through its production, Gaussian, Exponential, and Uniform noises are added to Logistic mapping to form a new hybrid time series, respectively. The effects of noise types and levels on the modified 0–1 test for chaos are studied. By studying the effect of different types of noises on chaos index D c ∗ (n) , K corr ∗ (c) , and the change of K m.corr ∗ (c) with amplitude α , it can be seen that Uniform noise has the greatest effect on chaos identification. In addition, it is found that the effect of the noise types on chaos identification depends on the peak of the noisy time series, and the effect of the noise on chaos detection increases with the increase of the noisy time series peak. It is worth noting that the selection of amplitude α can improve the noise resistance of chaos identification. The noise resistance of the modified 0–1 test for chaos can be improved by adjusting the amplitude α of the parameters. With the continuous increase of noise contamination level, the effect on the modified 0–1 test for chaos detection results is gradually enhanced, so reducing the noise contamination level is the key to improving the accuracy of the modified 0–1 test for chaos. In addition, adjusting the amplitude α can also play a certain noise immunity effect, and when α = 2 , the noise immunity is stronger on logistic mapping. In this paper, the qualitative properties of a physically extended six-dimensional Lorenz system, with additional physical terms describing rotation and density, which was proposed in [Moon et al., 2019] have been investigated. The dissipation, invariance, Lyapunov exponents, Kaplan–Yorke dimension, ultimate boundedness and global attractivity of this six-dimensional Lorenz system have been discussed in detail according to the chaotic systems theory. We find that this system exhibits chaos phenomena for a new set of parameters. It is well known that the general method for studying the bounds of a chaotic system is to construct a suitable Lyapunov-like function (or the generalized positive definite and radically unbounded Lyapunov function). However, the higher the dimension of a chaotic system, the more difficult it is to construct the Lyapunov-like function. The innovation of this paper is that we first construct the suitable Lyapunov-like function for this six-dimensional Lorenz system, and then we prove that this system is not only globally bounded for varying parameters, but it also gives a collection of global absorbing sets for this system with respect to all parameters of this system according to Lyapunov's direct method and the optimization method. Furthermore, we obtain the rate of the trajectories going from the exterior to the global absorbing set. Some numerical simulations are presented to validate our research results. Finally, we give a direct application of the results obtained in this paper. One technique, especially in chaos-based cryptographic applications, is to include the message in the evolution of the dynamical system. This paper aims to find out if and to what extent the statistical behavior of the chaotic system is affected by the message inclusion in its dynamic evolution. The study is illustrated by the dynamical system described by the logistic map in cryptographic applications based on images. The evaluation of the statistical behavior was performed on an original scheme proposed. The Monte Carlo analysis of the applied Kolmogorov–Smirnov statistical test revealed that the dynamical system in the processing scheme with message inclusion does not modify its proper statistical behavior (revealed by definition relation). This was possible due to the proposed scheme designed. Namely, this scheme contains a decision switch which, supported by an appropriate choice of the magnitude of the scaling factor, ensures that the values of the dynamical system are maintained in the definition domain. The proposed framework for analyzing the statistical properties and for preserving the dynamical system behavior is one main contribution of this research. The message inclusion scheme also provides an enhancement with cryptographic mixing functions applied internally; the statistical behavior of the dynamical system is also analyzed in this case. One of the routine exercises to manage and improve the performance and utility of the cloud is the migration or transfer of cloud data whether it is large or small. However, it is extremely challenging to protect both data privacy and integrity concurrently while moving cloud data, particularly when it is very vast. Collectively, prior works fail to offer a complete solution to these problem. Even though data encryption and steganography techniques are popular and efficient, they provide higher time and space complexities and introduce information loss. As a result, the goal of this research is to provide a chaos compression and encryption system based on chaos theory to guarantee both data privacy and integrity during the transit or migration of massive cloud data. During data transmission, the entire data are compressed using a chaotic substitution box followed by an adaptive Huffman encoding algorithms. Therefore, the input data are efficiently transformed into a non-readable form which replaces the original data, making it difficult for an unethical individual or group to determine its true sense. Our evaluation results show that the proposed chaotic technique has a maximum entropy value of 7.99, which supports its ability to provide more privacy when compared to previous techniques. It also delivers the best bits per code of 4.41, a throughput of 2.89 MB/s, and a minimal information loss percentage of 0.0011%, demonstrating its superior time, space efficiency, and ability to improve data integrity over existing methods. Physiological phenomena exhibit complex behaviours arising at multiple time scales. To investigate them, techniques derived from chaos theory were applied to physiological signals, providing promising results in distinguishing between healthy and pathological states. Fractal-like properties of electrodermal activity (EDA), a well-validated tool for monitoring the autonomic nervous system state, have been reported in previous literature. This study proposes the multiscale complexity index of electrodermal activity ( M C o m E D A ) to discern different autonomic responses based on EDA signals. This method builds upon our previously proposed algorithm, C o m E D A , and it is empowered with a coarse-graining procedure to provide a view at multiple time scales of the EDA response. We tested M C o m E D A 's performance on the EDA signals of two publicly available datasets, i.e., the Continuously Annotated Signals of Emotion (CASE) dataset and the Affect, Personality and Mood Research on Individuals and Groups (AMIGOS) dataset, both containing physiological data recorded from healthy participants during the view of ultra-short emotional video clips. Our results highlighted that the values of M C o m E D A were significantly different (p-value < 0.05 after Wilcoxon signed rank test with Bonferroni's correction) when comparing high- and low-arousal stimuli. Furthermore, M C o m E D A outperformed the single-scale approach in discriminating among different valence levels of high-arousal stimuli, e.g., showing significantly different values for scary and amusing stimuli (p-value = 0.024). These findings suggest that a multiscale approach to the nonlinear analysis of EDA signals can improve the information gathered on task-specific autonomic response, even when ultra-short time series are considered. A free-electron laser is a laser that has the same optical properties as a conventional laser, such as emitting beams of coherent electromagnetic radiation, which can reach high powers, but uses some very different principles of operation to form the beams. The chaotic motion of electrons causes a considerable decrease in the gain and efficiency of free-electron lasers. In this paper, the Hamiltonian of the dual-wiggler free-electron laser with and without axial guide magnetic field is constructed. Hamilton's equations of motion were derived exactly for both cases. The steady-state solution is also derived and investigated so that the initial conditions of the system are clear. The Poincaré surface-of-section maps were plotted after solving Hamilton's equations of motion numerically, where the chaotic behavior of the system was obvious when the axial field was included while the motion became regular and the Hamiltonian is integrable in the absence of the axial guide magnetic field. Purpose: Pair formation is an important step in pair trading that has only been examined manually or through numerical instructions. These methods fail in the multivariate mode and do not consider conflicting goals in the problem structure. In this research, a method is presented to create multivariate pair combinations by considering contradictory multiple goals in stock pair trading. Methodology: In this study, the statistical sample is limited to the top 30 companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange due to the need for high-frequency transactions. The problem is developed in the form of a Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) model, and due to non-convex constraints and exponential solution space, a multi-objective genetic algorithm is used to obtain multivariate pair combinations. To achieve multiple goals, the developed type of genetic algorithm, namely, The Chaotic Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (CNSGA-II), was used. In this method, chaos theory is used to create the initial population of the genetic algorithm in order to obtain appropriate and high-precision solutions. Findings: The results showed that the use of chaos theory could increase the degree of convergence in evolutionary algorithms. In addition, these results indicate the superiority of the multi-objective pair trading strategy based on the distance approach over the traditional single-objective model. The interaction of different time scales in predator-prey models has become a common research topic. In the present article, we concentrated on the dynamics of interactions at two time scales in a plankton-fish system. To investigate the effects of the two time scales on plankton-fish dynamics, we constructed a new parameter with a corrected type that differs from the traditional slow parameter. In addition, zooplankton's refuge from the predator and phytoplankton mortality due to competition are incorporated into the model. Positivity and boundedness of solutions were proved. We then discussed feasibility and stability conditions of the equilibrium. We used a variety of means to support the existence of chaos in the system. Hopf bifurcation conditions were also obtained. Chaos control in the plankton-fish model is one of the main motivations for this study. In the slow-variable parameter case, we explored the control mechanism of gestation delay on chaotic systems, which are calmed by different periodic solutions. Moreover, under seasonal mechanisms, external driving forces can stabilize the system from chaos to periodic oscillations. Meanwhile, the sliding mode control (SMC) approach quickly calms chaotic oscillations and stabilizes it to an internal equilibrium state. This paper investigates the possibilities of complex nonlinear dynamic signal generation using a simple photorefractive two-wave mixing system without any feedback using numerical simulations. The novel idea is to apply a sinusoidal electric field to the system inroder to extract nonlinear dynamic behavior. The mathematical model of the system was constructed using Kogelnick's coupled wave equations and Kukhtarev's material equation. The spatio-temporal evolution of the system was simulated in discrete steps numerically. The temporal evolution of the output light intensity exhibits period doubling, behavior which is a characteristic feature of complex nonlinear dynamic systems. A bifurcation diagram and Lyapunov exponentials confirm the presence of the period-doubling route to chaos in the system. The observed complex signal pattern varies uniformly with respect to the amplitude of the applied field, indicating a controllable nonlinear dynamic behavior. Such a system can be very useful in applications such as photonic reservoir computing, in-materio computing, photonic neuromorphic networks, complex signal detection, and time series prediction. The disassembly of spent lithium batteries is a prerequisite for efficient product recycling, the first link in remanufacturing, and its operational form has gradually changed from traditional manual disassembly to robot-assisted human–robot cooperative disassembly. Robots exhibit robust load-bearing capacity and perform stable repetitive tasks, while humans possess subjective experiences and tacit knowledge. It makes the disassembly activity more adaptable and ergonomic. However, existing human–robot collaborative disassembly studies have neglected to account for time-varying human conditions, such as safety, cognitive behavior, workload, and human pose shifts. Firstly, in order to overcome the limitations of existing research, we propose a model for balancing human–robot collaborative disassembly lines that take into consideration the load factor related to human involvement. This entails the development of a multi-objective mathematical model aimed at minimizing both the cycle time of the disassembly line and its associated costs while also aiming to reduce the integrated smoothing exponent. Secondly, we propose a modified multi-objective fruit fly optimization algorithm. The proposed algorithm combines chaos theory and the global cooperation mechanism to improve the performance of the algorithm. We add Gaussian mutation and crowding distance to efficiently solve the discrete optimization problem. Finally, we demonstrate the effectiveness and sensitivity of the improved multi-objective fruit fly optimization algorithm by solving and analyzing an example of Mercedes battery pack disassembly. Fractional-order (FO) chaotic systems exhibit richer and more complex dynamic behaviors compared to integer-order ones. This inherent richness and complexity enhance the security of FO chaotic systems against various attacks in image cryptosystems. In the present study, a comprehensive examination of the dynamical characteristics of the fractional-order Arneodo (FOAR) system with cubic nonlinearity is conducted. This investigation involves the analysis of phase planes, bifurcation diagrams, Lyapunov exponential spectra, and spectral entropy. Numerical studies show that the Arneodo chaotic system exhibits chaotic behavior when the lowest fractional-order (FO) value is set to 0.55. In this context, the aim is to securely encrypt biomedical images based on the Arneodo chaotic system with the lowest FO value using the Nvidia Jetson Nano development board. However, though the lowest FO system offers enhanced security in biomedical image encryption due to its richer dynamic behaviors, it necessitates careful consideration of the trade-off between high memory requirements and increasing complexity in encryption algorithms. Within the scope of the study, a novel random number generator (RNG) is designed using the FOAR chaotic system. The randomness of the random numbers is proven by using internationally accepted NIST 800-22 and ENT test suites. A biomedical image encryption application is developed using pseudo-random numbers. The images obtained as a result of the application are evaluated with tests such as histogram, correlation, differential attack, and entropy analyses. As a result of the study, it has been shown that encryption and decryption of biomedical images can be successfully performed on a mobile Nvidia Jetson Nano development card in a secure and fast manner. Background: This research delves into the complexity management of collaborative networks and interorganizational systems in the health innovation ecosystem on the basis of a best practice in the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) crisis. The objective is to offer specific solutions and guidelines to stakeholders in the health innovation ecosystem to control the chaos resulting from unexpected events along the ecosystem development and evolution path. Methods: For this purpose, the performance of the Health Innovation Ecosystem in Iran (the Every Home is a Health Base plan) has been examined through a detailed and in-depth analysis of events and actions taken using documents, reports and interviews with experts. The practical application of chaos and complex adaptive system features (adaptation, time horizons, edge of chaos, sensitivity to initial conditions, state space and strange attractors) is introduced to identify and manage the transition from a state where the health innovation ecosystem is on the edge of chaos and prone to failure. Data were collected through studying documents, reports and interviews with experts, and then analysed using qualitative content analysis techniques, open and axial coding and metaphors derived from complexity and chaos theories. Results: The findings indicate that to understand and embrace the complexity of the health innovation ecosystem throughout its development and evolution and manage and lead it through the edge of chaos towards successful interorganizational systems performance, it is necessary to use gap analysis to achieve consensus, establish a highly interactive governance structure with key stakeholders of the ecosystem, maintain flexibility to control bifurcations (butterfly effect), prevent transforming emergency solutions into standard routines and ensure the sustainability of the ecosystem against future threats by long-term financial security. Conclusions: This research provides insights into the dynamics of complex health systems and offers strategies for promoting successful innovation through collaborative networks and interorganizational systems in the development and evolution of the health innovation ecosystem. By embracing complexity and chaos, healthcare professionals, policy-makers and researchers can collaboratively address complex challenges and improve outcomes in health network activities. Nowadays, establishing security in data transmission is essential, and it is achieved by cryptography. Encryption of still or video images in specific applications such as Internet of Things, medical and satellite imaging, in applications requiring high-speed encryption, or even in applications where a personal computer is unavailable or cannot be used needs special hardware. In this paper, an image encryption algorithm based on chaos theory named Parallel Chaotic Checksum-based Image Encryption or PCCIE algorithm is proposed that has been able to provide a fast, efficient and secure algorithm with a hardware perspective on the design and parallel system structure. Using high-level synthesis, PCCIE is implemented on a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). The proposed algorithm using small and independent local image buffers solved FPGA internal memory limitation for encryption of large images. Ultimately, a Hexa-core crypto-processor with single-precision floating-point and fixed-point precision has been designed, capable of encrypting 256 × 256 and Full HD images in 2.13 and 59.52 milliseconds, respectively, at 469 and 16 frames per second. Recent results demonstrate the dynamical peculiarities of the quantum chaos within the hybrid systems by chaotic parameters and probe the pattern formation under the influence of condensation. The complex dynamic behavior of the considered systems was determined with numerical simulation and presented an efficient technique that studied fractional systems comprising chaos-coherence fractions. The findings divulge the peculiar association between the coherence structure and the correlations at finite relative momenta. Thus the present study helps to explore the partially chaos hybrid systems in order to stimulate the experimental applications of nonlinear phenomena. In order to solve the dynamic analysis and chaotic motion control problems of the current-mode-controlled Boost converter system, a state equation model in the continuous current mode is established. The evolutionary path of the periodic motion of the system through the doubling bifurcation to the chaotic motion is analyzed by the bifurcation diagram, Poincaré sections and phase portraits. Then, according to the fundamental principle of the resonant parametric perturbation (RPP) method, a controller is designed based on the model-free adaptive control (MFAC) method to output the perturbation amplitude, and the disturbance quantity is calculated according to the perturbation amplitude. By adding a small amplitude disturbance to the controllable parameter of the controlled system, the chaotic motion of the system is guided to expected periodic orbit. Smartphones, digital cameras, and other imaging devices generate vast amounts of high-resolution colored images daily, stored on devices equipped with multi-core central processing units or on the cloud. Safeguarding these images from potential attackers has become a pressing concern. This paper introduces a set of six innovative image ciphers designed to be stronger, faster, and more efficient. Three of these algorithms incorporate the State-Based Tent Map (SBTM) Chaotic Pseudo Random Number Generator (CPRNG), while the remaining three employ a proposed modified variant, SBTMPi. The Grayscale Image Cipher (GIC), Colored Image Cipher Single-Thread RGB (CIC1), and Colored Image Cipher Three-Thread RGB (CIC3) showcase the application of the proposed algorithms. By incorporating novel techniques in the confusion and diffusion phases, these ciphers demonstrate remarkable performance, particularly with large colored images. This paper investigates the complex dynamical behavior of a discrete prey-predator system with a fear factor, a strong Allee effect, and prey refuge. The existence and stability of fixed points in the system are discussed. By applying the central manifold theorem and bifurcation theory, we have established the occurrence of various types of bifurcations, including flip bifurcation and Neimark-Sacker bifurcation. Furthermore, to address the observed chaotic behavior in the system, three controllers were designed by employing state feedback control, OGY feedback control, and hybrid control methods. These controllers serve to control chaos in the proposed system and identify specific conditions under which chaos or bifurcations can be stabilized. This study draws on the parallelism between digitalization and the complexity of the Islamic banking industry (IBs) in a postpandemic era. It examines the digital Butterfly Effect on the Islamic banking industry to promote tech-driven IBs through an empirical lens. The study constructs a Fintech adoption index (FADi) and uses a Bayesian vector Auto-Regressive model, causality tests and impulse response functions for yearly data from 2008 to 2022 to examine the possible magnified effect of adopting Fintech by the Islamic banking industry in Malaysia. Key findings suggest that embracing Fintech by the IBs enhances the profitability of the banks, which is measured by the return on asset and return on equity. In addition, the study reports a ripple effect of FADi on the broader spectrum of the Malaysian economy. This indicates that Fintech fosters economic growth, household consumption, financial and insurance services, and corporate taxes. On the other hand, Fintech adoption helps reduce the unemployment rate. In recent times, there have been notable advancements in solar energy and other renewable sources, underscoring their vital contribution to environmental conservation. Chaotic systems depict complex dynamics, thanks to their nonlinear behaviors. With recent studies on fractional-order nonlinear systems, it is deduced that fractional-order analysis of a chaotic system enriches its dynamic behavior. Therefore, the investigation of the chaotic behavior of a 4D memristive Chen system is aimed in this study by taking the order of the system as fractional. The nonlinear behavior of the system is observed numerically by comparing the fractional-order bifurcation diagrams and Lyapunov Exponents Spectra with 2D phase portraits. Based on these analyses, two different fractional orders (i.e., q = 0.948 and q = 0.97) are determined where the 4D memristive system shows chaotic behavior. Furthermore, a single state fractional-order sliding mode controller (FOSMC) is designed to maintain the states of the fractional-order memristive chaotic system on the equilibrium points. Then, control method results are obtained by both numerical simulations and different illustrative experiments of microcontroller-based realization. Herringbone gear planetary gear transmission system has the advantages of high contact ratio and high bearing capacity and is widely used in various heavy load fields. However, the gear generates a large amount of heat during the meshing transmission, which affects the nonlinear dynamic characteristics of the system. In this paper, the various nonlinear factors are considered, including time-varying meshing stiffness, engagement damping, backlash, and engagement error. A nonlinear dynamic model of the herringbone planetary gear system considering temperature effects is established by using the lumped-parameter method. The nonlinear vibration differential equation of the system is solved by using the Runge–Kutta method. The impact law of temperature and engagement damping ratio changes on the bifurcation features of the herringbone planetary gear system is studied by combining the maximum Lyapunov exponent diagram, bifurcation diagram, time domain diagram, phase diagram, Poincare diagram, and spectrogram. And the chaos phenomenon of the system is analyzed and controlled by using a non-feedback control method with the external periodic signal. The result shows that with the change of temperature rise and meshing damping ratio, the system exhibits the kinematics response of chaotic, multi-period, and single-period. Higher temperature rise (∆T > 64 °C) and larger engagement damping ratio (ξ > 0.122) can make the gear system enter stable periodic motion. The chaotic motion region of the system is effectively controlled to the periodic motion orbit by introducing the periodic signal feedback controller.
