Aim: To identify occupational conditions associated with anxiety and fatigue among Korean nurses in early pregnancy. Background: Pregnant nurses, like non‐pregnant hospital nurses, are exposed to dangerous and stressful work environments, which can affect fatigue and anxiety. Design and Methods: This cross‐sectional study enrolled 1490 nurses who participated in the early pregnancy module in the Korea Nurses' Health Study between 2014 and 2020. Hierarchical linear regression analyses were employed to identify the factors associated with anxiety and fatigue among nurses in early pregnancy. Results: One‐fifth of participants were working night shifts, and more than two‐thirds were working overtime. When using antineoplastic drugs and disinfectants, the rate of use of protective equipment varied depending on the size of the hospital. Working overtime and lifting heavy objects were associated with increased anxiety and fatigue among nurses. Conclusion: Overtime work was associated with both anxiety and fatigue among pregnant nurses. Pregnant hospital nurses were exposed to both night shift and overtime work. Therefore, hospital managers should improve hazardous working environments to protect the health of nurses in early pregnancy and their fetuses. Nurses in early pregnancy are exposed to work environments that can affect their reproductive health.The relationship between mental health and work environment among nurses in early pregnancy is poorly understood. Introduction: Globally, healthcare organizations have transitioned from paper-based documentation to electronic health records (EHR), including in Saudi Arabia. However, the adoption of EHR at the national level in Saudi Arabia needs more attention. Thus, this study aimed to determine the workflow integration of EHR and associated factors. Objectives: The specific aims were to examine the level of EHR use and workflow integration among nurses, to determine the differences in EHR use and workflow integration based on nurses' demographic characteristics, and to determine the association between the predictive factors and EHR workflow integration. Methods: This is a cross-sectional, correlational descriptive study. The data were collected from 293 nurses using the convenience sampling method. The participating nurses completed a questionnaire that included two measures: the Information System Use Survey and the Workflow Integration Survey (WIS). The data were analyzed using descriptive and multivariate statistics with SPSS software. Results: The nurses had a positive perception of EHR use and workflow. The EHR use scores differed based on workplace (P <.01), education level (P <.05), and area of practice (P <.001). Similarly, the EHR workflow integration scores varied according to workplace (P <.05), education level (P <.05), and area of practice (P <.001). Education level and workplace significantly predicted information system use. Furthermore, education level and information system use significantly predicted the EHR integration into nurses' workflow. Conclusion: The nurses expressed a greater perceived use of EHR regarding the integrated health information system, which was a predictor of EHR integration into nurses' workflow. Aims: The purpose of this study was to identify risk factors for cognitive impairment in advanced cancer patients and to develop predictive models based on these risk factors. Background: Cancer‐related cognitive impairment seriously affects the quality of life of advanced cancer patients. However, neural network models of cognitive impairment in patients with advanced cancer have not yet been identified. Design: A cross‐sectional design was used. Methods: This study collected 494 questionnaires between January and June 2022. Statistically significant clinical indicators were selected by univariate analysis, and the artificial neural network model and logistic regression model were used for multivariate analysis. The predicted value of the model was estimated using the area under the subject's working characteristic curve. Result: The artificial neural network and the logistic regression models suggested that cancer course, anxiety and age were the major risk factors for cognitive impairment in advanced cancer patients. All the indexes of artificial neural network model constructed in this study are better than those of the logistic model. Conclusion: The artificial neural network model can better predict the risk factors of cognitive impairment in patients with advanced cancer. Better prediction will enable nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide better targeted and timely support. Aim: Cognitive concerns are one of the most frequently reported symptoms by breast cancer survivors. This study aimed to evaluate perceived cognitive functioning in Portuguese women with breast cancer treated with chemotherapy. Methods: A cross‐sectional study enrolling 146 women (73 with breast cancer and 73 healthy) was conducted from August to October 2017, invited to participate through online dissemination. Participants completed self‐reported questionnaires to collect sociodemographic and clinical data and assess perceived cognitive functioning and psychological adjustment variables (anxiety and depression). Results: Compared to healthy women, women with breast cancer showed significantly lower scores on the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy‐Cognitive Function (FACT‐Cog) subscales and higher levels of depression. Both groups showed significant negative correlations between perceived cognitive functioning and anxiety and depression. Health status and depression seem to better explain perceived cognitive functioning, with health status adding significantly more explained variance beyond sociodemographic and psychological adjustment variables. Conclusion: The current findings provide evidence for the existence of more cognitive complaints among Portuguese women with breast cancer, compared to healthy individuals. Anxiety, depression, age and education also explain perceived cognitive functioning. Considering that health status and psychological adjustment seem to significantly explain perceived cognitive functioning, special attention should be given by health‐care professionals, including nurses, to designing clinical interventions for breast cancer patients to help manage cognitive impairment. Aim: To assess the prevalence of minor and serious cyberloafing behaviours among nurses and examine the impact of the nursing stressors on nurses' cyberloafing behaviours. Background: Cyberloafing could have a negative influence on employees' job performance, but it also has been argued that it could serve as a coping mechanism to deal with stressful work environments. Design: A cross‐sectional descriptive, correlational design. Methods: Data were collected between September and December 2020 from a convenience sample of staff nurses (N = 291) providing care at a tertiary hospital in Saudi Arabia. Sample characteristics, nursing stressors and cyberloafing behaviours information were collected using self‐reported questionnaires. Descriptive, bivariate and multivariate analyses were performed. Findings Nurses in Saudi Arabia exhibited low levels of minor and serious cyberloafing behaviours. However, they engaged more frequently in minor cyberloafing behaviours more than serious cyberloafing behaviours. Stressors and Internet usage frequency influenced the frequency of minor and serious cyberloafing behaviours. Level of education and nationality impacted serious cyberloafing behaviours only. Conclusion: Nursing stressors were associated with cyberloafing behaviours. Other studies on cyberloafing and job stress yielded inconsistent results. Efforts should be taken to avoid the adverse effects of cyberloafing by establishing a clear policy on using the advanced technology for non‐work purposes. Aim: To describe activities and professional characteristics of nurses in expanded roles in acute care in Germany and achieve a greater understanding of the current situation of advanced practice nursing. Background: Advanced practice nursing plays an important role in meeting increased demands in healthcare and promoting high‐quality care. Introduction: In Germany, advanced practice nursing is still at an early stage with a lack of studies describing the scope of practice of nurses in expanded roles. Methods: We conducted a cross‐sectional‐study using a paper‐and‐pencil questionnaire. In a nationwide convenience sample, we surveyed nurses with an academic degree, who work in an acute care hospital and take over expanded roles in direct patient care. Reporting followed the STROBE checklist. Results: Of 108 eligible nurses, 84 (77%) completed the survey. The majority had a Master's degree (63.1%) and the average work experience was 18.2 years. Participants carried out activities in all the domains that were queried (direct clinical practice, guidance and coaching, consultation, leadership and research) with differences within and between domains. Foci were on direct clinical practice and coaching and guidance. Discussion: In Germany, qualifications are nearing the international standard of advanced practice nursing. Results suggest that participants partly undertake activities within the scope of registered nurses' practice that do not correspond fully to their formal qualifications. Conclusion and implications for nursing and/or health policy: In order to foster the role development of expanded practice nurses in Germany, political efforts are needed in terms of training (e.g. specific Master's programmes), funding of corresponding positions in practice and control mechanisms (e.g. professional registration). Aim. This paper aimed to examine the current state of nurse safety behavior, and the effect of work engagement on it, and to explore the mediating effect of self-efficacy between work engagement and nurse safety behavior in specialized cancer hospitals. Background. Nurse safety behavior affects the quality of care and outcomes for patients with cancer. The research proves that self-efficacy is associated with work engagement, but the relationship between self-efficacy, work engagement, and nurse safety behavior needs to be clarified. Methods. This study used a convenience sampling method to survey 957 nurses from January to February 2023. The survey included tertiary specialized cancer hospitals in five provinces in China. Sociodemography information, the Work Engagement Scale, the Self-Efficacy Scale, and the Nurse Safety Behavior Scale were used for the survey. A Questionnaire Star program collected all the data automatically. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 24 was employed for Pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis to examine the association between work engagement, self-efficacy, and nurse safety behavior. Structural equation models were built using Analysis of Moment Structures version 24.0 software. Results. The results showed that the nurse safety behavior was at a high level in specialized cancer hospitals. There was a significant positive relationship between the variables work engagement, self-efficacy, and nurse safety behavior with coefficients ranging from 0.244 to 0.564. The results of structural equation modeling revealed that self-efficacy partially mediated the effect between work engagement and nurse safety behavior, accounting for 25.3% of the total effect. Conclusion. Self-efficacy mediates the relationship between work engagement and nurse safety behavior, and by increasing self-efficacy, nurse safety behavior can be improved, thus ensuring patient safety. Aim: Guided by the social embeddedness model of thriving at work, this paper explores how nursing organizational culture, work engagement and affective commitment affect nurses' thriving at work. Background: Thriving at work has implications for better employee and organization outcomes. The antecedents of thriving at work among the nursing population needs to be expanded by analysing the cross‐level impact of organizational and individual characteristics. Methods: A cross‐sectional design was used to collect data from 1437 frontline nurses in a tertiary teaching hospital in China between April and May 2020 through an online survey about perceived nursing culture, work engagement, affective commitment and thriving at work. Data were analysed using SPSS, and a structural equation model was established using the PROCESS macro. Results: Our results showed that work engagement and affective commitment mediated the relationship between nurses' perceived nursing culture and their thriving at work. Among nurses, work engagement was positively correlated to affective commitment. Conclusion: Our study confirmed the social embeddedness model of thriving at work by showing that both contextual and dispositional factors can influence nurses' thriving at work. Nurse leaders can foster nursing staff's thriving at work by building an inclusive work environment and by providing adequate resources to staff. Future research is needed to elaborate on employee and organizational outcomes associated with thriving at work. Impact: Nurse leaders should be the advocate for nurses to improve their organizational identification, fostering their thriving at work. Individual nurses can also take an active role in developing work‐related resources to sustain their thriving through self‐adaption processes. Accessible Summary: What is known on the subject?: The importance of and interest in nurses' attitudes towards and subjective experience with workplace violence in clinical settings is increasing.The prevalence of patient‐perpetrated violence against Korean nurses in hospital settings is highly prevalent.Only few instruments are available to measure the nurses' perception of patient aggression in Korea. What the paper adds to existing knowledge?: This is the first study to assess the linguistic and psychometric reliability and validity of an instrument that evaluates the attitude of Korean nursing staff towards patient‐perpetrated workplace violence. Aim: We translated the 12‐item Perception of Aggression Scale (POAS) into Korean and psychometrically assessed its utility in measuring nurses' attitudes towards aggression. Methods: The 12‐item Korean POAS was obtained through forward–backward translation and cognitive debriefing. It was administered online to 319 nurses (mean age = 32.64 years; females = 96.2%), of which 206 completed it again after two weeks. Confirmatory factor analysis validated the 3‐factor structure as hypothesized in the original version. The intra‐class correlation coefficient was used to assess the test–retest reliability. Results: The originally hypothesized 3‐factor structure showed a good fit. The 3 dimensions: aggression as a dysfunctional or undesirable phenomenon, aggression as a functional or comprehensible phenomenon, and aggression as a protective measure had internal consistencies of 0.74, 0.86 and 0.90 and corresponding ICCs of 0.70, 0.86 and 0.90, respectively. Discussion: The 12‐item Korean POAS is a valid and reliable scale that might aid investigating nurses' attitudes towards patient aggression. Introduction: People with serious mental illness experience significant disparities in their physical health compared with the general population. One indicator of health impairment is metabolic syndrome, which increases the likelihood of developing cardiovascular disease and diabetes. No international studies have reported both primary care and mental health nurses' rates of metabolic monitoring among people with serious mental illness, and no New Zealand studies have investigated rates of metabolic monitoring. Aim: To evaluate metabolic monitoring practices within one of New Zealand's 20 district health board regions. Method: An audit of clinical records in primary care (n = 46) and secondary care (n = 47) settings and a survey of practice nurses were conducted. A survey was sent to 127 practice nurses with a response rate of 19% (n = 24). Data were analysed using descriptive statistics. Results: Rates of metabolic monitoring were low in both services. Survey participants expressed positive views towards physical health monitoring and confidence in relating to mental health consumers. Rates of treatment of metabolic abnormalities were low, and communication between primary and secondary services was limited. Conclusion: Despite existence of guidelines and protocols, metabolic monitoring rates in both primary and secondary health services are low. Incorporating metabolic monitoring systems into service delivery, supported by appropriate tools and resourcing, is essential to achieve better clinical outcomes for people experiencing mental illness. Aims: The purpose of this paper was to investigate the relationship between high‐involvement human resource management, autonomy, affective organisational commitment and innovative behaviours of nursing staff who care for elderly clients. Background: Nursing teams are increasingly required to demonstrate innovative behaviours that enhance care quality. Nursing leaders need to create environments where nursing staff have sufficient autonomy and feel a sense of commitment to support these behaviours. The appropriate implementation of these processes and practices may lead to greater involvement. Methods: A cross‐sectional survey‐based research design was employed to explore the experiences of involvement practices, autonomy, affective organisational commitment and innovative behaviours of 567 nursing staff workers from four elderly care organisations in the Netherlands. Results: The results demonstrate that a bundle of high‐involvement practices positively influences innovative behaviour and that affective commitment and autonomy fully mediate this relationship. Conclusions: The study highlights the role of autonomy and commitment as routes towards translating involvement practices into nurses' innovativeness. Implications for Nursing Management: To create an innovative environment, leaders need to create a positive climate by providing nurses with opportunities to enhance their competence, relatedness and autonomy through active involvement. Objective: To investigate the psychosocial effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on nurses and midwives working in acute care settings, specifically psychological distress, self-reported concerns, and perceived impact on their work and personal lives. Background: Little is known about the psychosocial impact of the pandemic on nurses and midwives in Australia, a country with a substantially lower number of COVID-19 cases and deaths than many others. Few studies investigating the prevalence of psychological distress among nurses during the pandemic have been conducted in more than one setting, especially in the Australian context. Study design and methods: Cross-sectional survey design (STROBE checklist). Nurses and midwives (n=1,611) at four metropolitan tertiary health services in Melbourne, Australia completed an anonymous online survey between 15 May and 31 August 2020, which assessed symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress (DASS-21); concerns related to COVID-19; and other effects of COVID-19. Space was provided for free-text comments. Results: Approximately one fifth of respondents reported moderate to extremely severe symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress. Fewer years of clinical experience were significantly associated with higher levels of psychological distress. More than half of the respondents were extremely/very concerned about passing COVID-19 on to family members and about their family's health, and almost half were concerned about caring for a patient who had confirmed or suspected COVID-19. Respondents reported that certain precautionary measures such as personal protective equipment (PPE) interfered with their ability to provide optimal patient care. Positive aspects of the pandemic were also reported including a sense of togetherness and cooperation among staff. Conclusion: The COVID-19 pandemic has had a considerable impact on the psychological wellbeing and work and personal lives of nurses and midwives working in acute care settings in Melbourne, Australia, particularly those with less clinical experience. Implications for nursing and health services research, policy and practice: Nurses and midwives, particularly those with less clinical experience, would benefit from additional, targeted wellbeing and support initiatives. For those with less experience, initiatives could include being partnered with more experienced colleagues and educators who can provide practical and emotional support and monitor their stress levels. Objective: This study aims to examine the impact of nurses' nursing information competence on their creative self-efficacy and innovation behavior, and to investigate its role as a mediating factor between these two elements. Methods: A survey was conducted from July to September 2023 involving 1,200 nurses from two tertiary-level oncology specialty hospitals in Beijing, selected through convenience sampling. Instruments used included the Creative Self-Efficacy Scale, Nursing Information Competence Assessment Scale, and Nurses' Innovative Behavior Scale. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 25.0 and R 4.1.2; AMOS26 was used to construct structural equation models and Bootstrap method was used to test the mediating hypotheses. Results: Out of the distributed questionnaires, 1,166 were valid, yielding an effective response rate of 97.16%. Pearson correlation analysis revealed significant correlations between innovation self-efficacy, nursing information competence, and nurses' innovative behaviors (P < 0.001). The Bootstrap method indicated that nursing information competence serves as a mediating factor in the relationship between creative self-efficacy and innovative behaviors, contributing to 24.5% of the observed effect. Additionally, regression analysis suggested that nursing information competence moderates the relationship between creative self-efficacy and innovation behavior. Conclusion: The findings suggest that nursing information competence not only mediates but also moderates the relationship between creative self-efficacy and innovative behavior. Enhancing nurses' information competence could therefore foster creative self-efficacy, leading to an increase in innovative behavior and, subsequently, improvements in the quality of oncology nursing care. Background: Missed nursing care refers to any aspect of care performed by nursing staff that is omitted or significantly delayed. Even though the potential impact of missing nursing care on maternal and fetal outcomes is significant, there is currently limited evidence regarding the extent of this issue specifically within the maternity wards. Therefore, this study aimed to assess missed nursing care and associated factors in the maternity wards of public hospitals in the Sidama region, Ethiopia 2022. Methods: A hospital-based cross-sectional study was conducted among 361 nurses and midwives in maternity wards of Sidama region public hospitals from March 28 to April 26, 2022. Simple random sampling was used to select participants. The data was collected using the MISSCARE survey tool and analyzed with SPSS version 26. Simple linear and multiple linear regression analyses were used to identify the factors associated with missed nursing care. Results: The overall mean missed nursing care score was 67 out of 130 (95% CI: 65.92, 68.02) and the average score for each nursing intervention was 2.58 out of 5 (95% CI: 2.54, 2.62). The intention to leave the institution (β = 3.812, 95% CI: 2.285, 5.340) and increasing weekly work hours (β = 0.203, 95% CI: 0.134, 0.272) were factors positively associated with missed nursing care. However, increased work experience (β= -0.963, 95%CI: -1.475, -0.452) and job satisfaction (β= -4.976, 95%CI: -6.431, -3.522) were negatively associated with missed nursing care. Conclusion: This study found that the level of missed nursing care was significant. Factors positively associated with missed nursing care included an intention to leave the institution and an increase in weekly work hours. Background: Work-family enrichment refers to the extent to which experiences in one role improve the quality of life in another role, and the bidirectionality indicates that benefits derived from work can be applied to family and vice versa. Parent nurses, that is, female nurses who are raising preschool children, play a major role at work and in the family. Thus, work-family enrichment is significant for them. The Work-Family Enrichment Scale cannot be generalized to parent nurses. This study was aimed at developing and psychometrically validating a draft Work-Family Enrichment Scale for Parent Nurses. Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted among 1,090 parent nurses who were randomly sampled from hospitals with more than 200 beds in Japan. The survey evaluated (1) a draft Work-Family Enrichment Scale for Parent Nurses, (2) the Japanese version of the Work-Family Enrichment Scale, and (3) the Positive Spillover Scale. The scales were psychometrically evaluated for internal consistency, construct validity, and criterion-related validity. Results: Data from 503 participants (age, mean ± standard deviation [range] 35.5 ± 4.96 [23–47] years) were analyzed. Results of exploratory factor analysis, the work to family enrichment direction yielded five factors for 23 items: "emotional fulfillment," "efficiency," "ability to lead," "displaying industriousness," and "self-growth." Cronbach's alpha coefficients ranged from 0.862 to 0.914. In the family-to-work enrichment direction, there were five factors for 28 items: "help-seeking," "receptiveness," "expansion of one's horizon," "efficiency," and "emotional fulfillment." Cronbach's alpha coefficients ranged from 0.790 to 0.907. Additionally, the correlation coefficients reporting criterion-related validity were 0.685 and 0.619 with regard to the Japanese version of the Work-Family Enrichment Scale and 0.596 and 0.534 with the Positive Spillover Scale for the Work-to-Family Enrichment Scale and the Family-to-Work Enrichment Scale for Parent Nurses, respectively. Conclusions: The Work-Family Enrichment Scale for Parent Nurses has adequate reliability and validity and can be used as an effective measure to assess the positive aspects of work and family roles among female parent nurses. Background: Nurses' competence in clinical research is a key element in promoting high quality in the discipline of nursing, and the ethical aspects of research are of paramount importance. Therefore, nurses need to have a comprehensive understanding of the ethics associated with clinical research, which is an integral part of safeguarding the safety of subjects, ensuring the quality of nursing clinical research, and improving the ethical standardization of clinical research. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted on 304 nurses in a province of China between April 2023 and September 2023, utilizing convenience sampling. The survey questionnaire comprised two sections: a general information form and a questionnaire focusing on nurses' knowledge and attitudes towards clinical research ethics. Data analysis encompassed descriptive statistics, t-tests, one-way ANOVA, and multiple linear regression. Results: A total of 320 questionnaires were distributed, of which 304 were valid. The ethical attitude of nurses in clinical research was better (91.17 ± 15.96), while the cognitive score was lower (63.08 ± 12.30). The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that degree, grade of hospital (I, II or III), technical title, number of clinical projects chaired in one year and whether the respondent has ever participated in an ethics training were the five factors influencing the knowledge of clinical research ethics (F = 9.341, P < 0.001, R2 = 18.0%); degree, grade of hospital (I, II or III), technical title, number of clinical research projects chaired in one year, whether the hospital has an ethics committee and whether the respondent has ever participated in an ethics training were the six factors affecting ethical attitudes towards clinical research (F = 8.919, P < 0.001, R2 = 17.3%). Conclusions: Nurses in a Chinese province scored low on the cognitive dimension of clinical research ethics, but their attitudes were at a relative high level, with many influencing factors. Degree, technical title, and grade of hospital, all affect cognitive and attitude scores. It is also worth noting that whether the hospital has an ethics committee affects the attitude scores, but has no effect on the cognitive scores.Nursing administrators and educators should consider providing effective and targeted strategies (e.g., ongoing training, scholarly seminars, and scholarly exchanges) to enhance nurses' knowledge and competence in clinical research ethics to protect subject rights as well as to ensure the quality of clinical research. Aim: To explore the effects of demographic characteristics, mental workload, and Adversity quotient (AQ) on the job engagement of nurses in East China. Design: A quantitative and cross‐sectional study. Method: The survey collected questionnaire data on mental workload, adversity quotient, and job engagement from 473 nurses selected working in 12 Grade‐A tertiary hospitals based on informed consent in East China between July 2020 and March 2021. Results: The total score of mental workload was 78.24 ± 11.65, the adversity quotient score was 128.26 ± 15.84, job engagement score was 42.32 ± 7.79. Job engagement has a remarkable positive correlation with adversity quotient (r = 0.613, p<0.001), and a negative correlation with mental workload (r = −0.499, p<0.001). Mental workload has an apparent negative correlation with adversity quotient (r = −0.291, p<0.001). Labor‐management relationship with current organization, department, study to get a degree or diploma in spare time, attitude towards a career in Nursing, attitude towards the current career position, satisfaction with marriage, social support, load feelings, self‐assessment, control, and endurance could predict 70.9% of job engagement of nurses. Conclusions: The mental workload of nurses was higher, the AQ was at a medium level, and the job engagement of nurses was also slightly higher. Labor‐management relationship with current organization, department, study to get a degree or diploma in spare time, attitude towards a career in Nursing, attitude towards the current career position, satisfaction with marriage, social support, load feelings, self‐assessment, control, and endurance had predictive effects on nurses' job engagement. It is necessary to take a variety of measures according to the social‐demographic characteristics, improve the adversity quotient, and evaluate the mental workload correctly, to improve the job engagement of nurses. Impact: The epidemic situation and other emergencies make the work pressure of nurses in Grade‐A tertiary hospitals increase suddenly. Caring for cancer patients requires both technical and psychosocial nursing skills. The aim of this study was to determine the psychosocial care skill levels of nurses and affecting factors. This multicenter, cross-sectional study was conducted with 1,189 nurses providing direct care to adult cancer patients in 32 hospitals in 12 geographical regions of Turkey. A questionnaire, the Psychosocial Skills Form, and the Professional Quality of Life Scale were used to collect the data. Nurses' psychosocial skill level was in the range of 2.72 ± 0.98 and 2.47 ± 0.89 out of four points. Communication skills such as empathic response, active listening, and the ability to provide information were found to be at a higher level than skills such as the activation of social support systems, therapeutic touch, and development of coping methods. Approximately 40% of nurses had received psychosocial care training, and 87% were interested in receiving additional psychosocial training. Gender, educational status, previous training in psychosocial care, and work experience with cancer patients were shown to affect psychosocial skill levels. There was a positive relationship between the level of psychosocial skills and the level of compassion satisfaction, and a negative relationship between the level of psychosocial skills and the level of burnout and compassion fatigue (p < 0.05). Nurses perceive themselves as having a medium to high level of psychosocial skills yet desire additional training. Background: Female nurses with high occupational stress are one of the groups at risk of premenstrual syndrome (PMS). The symptoms of this syndrome may affect the reduction of work efficiency, accuracy in doing work, concentration, and increased absenteeism of nurses and can lead to significant economic losses. This study aimed to determine the predictive role of common PMS symptoms in the clinical performance of nurses in public hospitals in Sanandaj, Iran. Methods: The present study was a descriptive-analytical and cross-sectional study. In this study, 318 nurses participated in the census method based on the inclusion criteria. Data collection tools were premenstrual symptom screening questionnaires and nurses' clinical performance evaluations. Data analysis was done with Spearman's correlation tests, simple linear regression, multiple regression, t-test, one-way variance analysis, Tukey's post hoc tests, and LSD using SPSS version 22 statistical software. Results: The average PMS score of the participants was 30.8 ± 11.45, which indicates severe PMS. Nurses' average clinical performance score was 45.78 ± 35.29, indicating an average performance. The findings showed that PMS has a significant inverse correlation with clinical performance and its components. Simple linear regression showed that PMS can predict 26.5% of nurses' clinical performance variance. Simple regression showed that with an increase of one standard deviation in the PMS score, the nurses' clinical performance score decreased by 0.517 standard deviations and vice versa. However, by controlling confounding variables, with an increase of one standard deviation in the PMS score, the clinical performance score of nurses will decrease by 0.396 standard deviations and vice versa. Conclusions: Paying attention to reducing or controlling PMS symptoms may help improve nurses' performance. Therefore, hospital and nursing managers can improve the performance and efficiency of their workforce by identifying nurses and other employees suffering from PMS and planning and using different methods to reduce its symptoms. Background. Severe challenges in recruiting and retaining healthcare workers exist on a global level and are especially noticeable in elderly care services. Previous studies have not assessed how the attractiveness of a job is related to wellbeing at work among licensed practical nurses (LPNs) even though these professionals are vital in providing care to the elderly. Objective. The purpose of this study is to define factors that affect LPNs' attractiveness of work and wellbeing at work. Design. A cross‐sectional survey study. Participants. A large‐scale nationwide sample of 10 848 licensed practical nurses (LPNs) working in Finland. Methods. An online survey for LPNs working in Finland was conducted. Criteria for a good workplace (CFGW), measuring the attractiveness of work and wellbeing at work, were utilized. Descriptive and comparative analyses were performed. Cronbach's alpha values were tested to assess internal consistency (α = 0.739–0.915). An ANOVA or t‐test result which indicated a statistically significant between‐group difference (which was in line with difference ≥0.1) was considered as both statistically significant and significant in practice. Results. The core group, LPNs' wellbeing at work (m = 4.36), is extremely important factor of attractiveness of work. Regarding the subgroups high quality of care (m = 4.61), reconciling of work and private life (m = 4.59) and well‐functioning practices (m = 4.55) were most important. Well‐functioning practices associated with several background variables, e.g., with working for full‐time (p ≤ 0.001, mean = 3.10) and age (p < 0.001). LPNs over 56 years old, especially, regard well‐functioning practices important (p = 3.17). LPNs' who were 56 years old or older (m = 3.12) and those who had work experience 1 year or less (m = 3.19) stated rewarding work most important. Conclusions. The core group, wellbeing, is an exceptionally important for the LPNs attractiveness of work. Aims and Objectives: The aim of this study was to explore the association between transition shocks and professional identity and the mediating roles of self‐efficacy and resilience among Chinese novice nurses. Background: Novice nurses experience transition shock when they start their careers, which might lead to decreased professional identity and ultimately turnover. By contrast, self‐efficacy and resilience are excellent psychological resources that may be associated with higher professional identity. It is unclear how transition shock affects professional identity by influencing these two internal resources. Design: A cross‐sectional survey. Methods: The STROBE guidelines were followed to report this study. Convenience sampling was used to recruit participants, and 252 novice nurses completed the Transition Shock of Novice Nurses Scale, the Professional Identity Assessment Scale, the General Self‐Efficacy Scale and the Connor‐Davidson Resilience Scale between April 2022 and May 2022. Influencing factors were primarily identified using independent‐sample t‐tests and a one‐way ANOVA. Structural equation modelling was used to detect the mediating effects of self‐efficacy and resilience. Results: Differences in novice nurses' levels of professional identity were found across age groups, hospitals and departments. Transition shock was negatively related to professional identity. Self‐efficacy and resilience mediated the complete chain relationship between transition shock and professional identity. Conclusion: To our knowledge, this study is the first to explore the mediating effect of self‐efficacy and resilience on transition shock and professional identity. Higher transition shock may lead to lower professional identity by reducing self‐efficacy and resilience. Relevance to Clinical Practice: Nursing managers ought to emphasise the significant role of psychological resources in the work adaptation process of novice nurses. It may be more effective to improve professional identity and maintain the stability of the health care system. Purpose: This study identified the mediating effect of resilience on the relationship between job stress and the professional quality of life of hospice and palliative care nurses. Methods: The participants included 136 hospice and palliative care nurses from 13 inpatient hospice and palliative care wards at a tertiary hospital in a metropolitan city in South Korea. Data were collected from February 2022 to March 2022. Hayes' PROCESS macro 3.5 was used to test the significance of the parameter's indirect effects. Professional quality of life was divided into three subdomains: compassion satisfaction, secondary traumatic stress, and burnout. Results: As a mediator, resilience had both direct and indirect effects on the relationship between job stress and the compassion satisfaction of hospice and palliative care nurses. Furthermore, there were both direct and indirect effects on the relationship between job stress and secondary traumatic stress. Finally, although there was no direct effect on the relationship between job stress and burnout, there was an indirect mediating effect. Conclusion: This study confirmed the direct effect of compassion satisfaction on job stress and the professional quality of life of hospice and palliative care nurses, as well as the mediating effect of resilience on job stress and burnout. To improve the professional quality of life of hospice and palliative care nurses, it is necessary to develop and apply programs that enhance resilience in order to promote its mediating effects on compassion satisfaction and burnout. Introduction: Due to the type and nature of hospitalized psychiatric patients, nurses encounter many ambiguous and complex clinical situations that require intuitive decision-making. The present study was conducted to determine the use of intuition and its barriers and facilitators among psychiatric nurses. Methods: This study adopts a descriptive cross-sectional design and employs 123 nurses using convenience sampling in 2022. Demographic characteristics, the use of intuition in clinical practice, and the barriers and facilitators of intuition in clinical practice questionnaires were used for data collection. Results: The results of this study showed that the mean (SD) of intuitive decision-making among psychiatric nurses was 58 (13.07) out of a range from 25-125. The use of intuition had a statistically significant correlation with age and work experience in the psychiatry ward. The use of intuitive decision-making has a statistically significant difference in gender, work shift, and education level. The biggest barrier to the use of intuitive decision-making among psychiatric nurses was "The limitations of nursing role which restrict the use of intuition in the clinical setting". The most common facilitator in the use of intuition among psychiatric nurses was "having experience and clinical knowledge leads to the use of intuition in patient care". Conclusion: Given the low level of the use of intuition and the important role of intuitive decision-making in the quality of nursing care, nursing managers should provide some strategies for reducing the barriers to the use of intuition among nurses. Background: Nurses have reported considerable levels of perceived stress during pandemics, impairing quality of life in registered nurses. Studies supported the mediating roles of some coping strategies on the correlation between perceived stress and quality of life. However, rare studies have investigated these roles among Jordanian registered nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Purpose: Mainly to examine the mediating role of coping strategies in the relationship between perceived stress and quality of life in Jordanian registered nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: A cross-sectional correlational design was used with an online survey. Convenience sampling was used to select 550 registered nurses from 8 hospitals located in Amman and Irbid cities. A demographic questionnaire, the Perceived Stress Scale, the Brief COPE inventory, and the World Health Organization-related Quality of Life scale were used to collect data. Descriptive and multiple-regression analyses were used to analyze the data collected. Results: Religion and then substance use were commonly used as coping strategies by Jordanian registered nurses. Substance abuse only mediated the relationship between stress perception and quality of life. Conclusion: Substance use only played a mediating role between perceived stress and quality of life among Jordanian registered nurses. Perceived stress and substance use should be valued as important variables for improving registered nurses' quality of life. Implications for Nursing: The results can be used by hospital administrators and decision makers as an empirical basis for planning and implementing effective coping strategies to manage nurses’ stress other than maladaptive coping strategies such as substance use. Introduction: Mental health is a serious concern among novice school nurses in Japan. Numerous novice school nurses with various health problems experience high stress levels, affecting their mental health. They may be experiencing reality shock, a known risk factor for burnout and turnover, or its factor, the "reality gap." Objective: This study aimed to examine the hypothetical model by which the reality gap affects the mental health of novice school nurses. Methods: This cross-sectional study conducted a self-administered questionnaire survey, and responses were obtained from 102 novice school nurses. A path model was created based on a hypothetical model. Results: After several revisions on the hypothesis model, a modified path model was generated (CFI =.98, TLI =.93, RMSEA =.06). The path model showed that reality gaps negatively affected work engagement, work engagement positively affected intention to stay, and intention to stay positively affected mental health. Reality gap was also directly negatively associated with mental health. Having various support networks reduced the effects of reality gaps on mental health. Additionally, social support in the workplace boosted work engagement. Conclusion: Unique from other studies, this study contributed to understanding the effects of reality gaps on mental health. School managers and administrators should establish a support system that enables school nurses to receive various supports from within and outside the school. Aim: To test the psychometric properties of the Finnish version of the Dempster Practice Behaviour Scale and explore nurses' professional autonomy along with which characteristics are related to it. Design: An instrument validation and a descriptive cross‐sectional study. Methods: The web‐based survey was conducted in September 2021 at two university hospitals in Finland. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was used to explore the factor structure of the modified instrument, while Cronbach's α coefficients were calculated to determine the reliability of the scale. Descriptive univariate and multivariate analyses were conducted to examine Registered Nurses' professional autonomy. The study followed STROBE guidelines. Results: During the validation process, the 30 items of the Dempster Practice Behaviour Scale were reduced to 25 items. The S‐CVI/Ave for the translated scale was 0.94. When one additional item was omitted from the EFA, the results supported five factors, which explained 45.9% of the total variance. The mean overall autonomy score was 3.63 out of 5, with readiness and empowerment the subscales with the highest and lowest, respectively, mean values. The linear regression models showed that age, nursing experience, unit type, education, shift, and perceptions of the importance of professional autonomy were related to the subscales describing professional autonomy. Conclusion: The psychometric testing provided evidence that the translated instrument was reliable. Nurses assessed that they are skilled professionals who are accountable for their actions. However, they experienced rather low levels of professional autonomy in empowerment and valuation. Evidence-based practice (EBP) is an essential component of healthcare practice that ensures the delivery of high-quality care by integrating the best available evidence. This study aimed to explore factors influencing EBP among nursing professionals in Taiwan. A cross-sectional survey study was conducted with 752 registered nurses and nurse practitioners recruited from a regional teaching hospital in southern Taiwan. EBP competency was evaluated using the Taipei Evidence-Based Practice Questionnaire (TEBPQ). The results showed that participation in evidence-based courses or training within the past year had the strongest association with EBP competencies (Std. B = 0.157, p < 0.001). Holding a graduate degree (Std. B = 0.151, p < 0.001), working in gynecology or pediatrics (Std. B = 0.126, p < 0.001), searching the literature in electronic databases (Std. B = 0.072, p = 0.039), and able to read academic articles in English (Std. B = 0.088, p = 0.005) were significantly associated with higher TEBPQ scores. Younger age (Std. B = −0.105, p = 0.005) and male gender (Std. B = 0.089, p = 0.010) were also identified as factors contributing to higher EBP competencies. The study highlights the importance of ongoing professional development, including EBP training and language proficiency, in enhancing EBP competencies among nursing professionals in Taiwan. Background: Delirium is an acute mental state associated with poor outcomes. The incidence of delirium is high, especially in the paediatric intensive care unit (PICU). It is important for staff, particularly nurses, to understand delirium and implement interventions to prevent it. We performed a survey with the aim of evaluating and analysing the factors influencing the knowledge, attitudes and behaviour of PICU nurses towards delirium. Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive study included 215 PICU nurses in 6 PICUs from five teaching hospitals in Sichuan Province, China. An online survey about the knowledge, attitudes and practices related to delirium care was conducted among PICU nurses used a self-made and validated questionnaire. The data were analysed using descriptive statistics; differences between groups were compared using t tests, ANOVA and rank-sum tests. Variables with a significance level of 0.05 in the univariate analysis were entered into the multivariable regression analysis to identify predictors. Results: Only 14.4% of the nurses had a good understanding of delirium, and 40.9% had received relevant training. The mean knowledge score was 9.01 ± 3.86, and the overall passing rate of knowledge was 49.8%. The mean attitude and behaviour scores were 40.95 ± 5.62 and 40.33 ± 8.01, respectively. Among the hospitals, different delirium assessments for children and specific training were performed, explaining approximately 10% of the variability in knowledge scores (F = 6.152), approximately 10% of the variability in attitude/belief scores (F = 5.908), and approximately 17% of the variability in practice scores (F = 10.767). Conclusions: PICU nurses have poor knowledge of delirium, particularly regarding its clinical manifestations, influencing factors and medications used, and they have adequate attitudes and confidence and good behaviour regarding delirium in children. Background: Abusive supervision by the nurse manager significantly influences nurses' withholding voice about patient safety. The role of impression management motivation and speak up-related climate is crucial in understanding their connection. This study aimed to explore the relationship between abusive supervision, impression management motivation, speak up-related climate, and withholding voice about patient safety. Methods: This cross-sectional study employed a convenience sampling method to recruit 419 clinical nurses from Taizhou Hospital, Zhejiang Province, China, between 1 November 2022 and 31 January 2023. The study adhered to the STROBE checklist. Abusive supervision and impression management motivation were assessed using the Chinese versions of the Abusive Supervision Scale and the Impression Management Motivation Scale, respectively. Withholding voice about patient safety and speak up-related climate were identified using the Chinese version of the Speaking Up about Patient Safety Questionnaire. Results: Nurse leaders' abusive supervision (β=0.40, p<0.01) and nurses' impression management motivation (β=0.10, p<0.01) significantly and positively influenced nurses' withholding voice about patient safety. We introduced impression management motivation as a mediating variable, and the effect of abusive supervision on nurses' withholding voice decreased (β from 0.40 to 0.38, p< 0.01). Nurses' speak up-related climate played a moderating role between abusive supervision and impression management motivation (β= 0.24, p<0.05). Conclusions: Abusive supervision by nursing leaders can result in nurses withholding voice about patient safety out of self-protective impression management motives. This phenomenon inhibits nurses' subjective initiative and undermines their proactive involvement in improving patient safety, and hinders the cultivation of a culture encouraging full participation in patient safety, which should warrant significant attention. Background: The labor supply of nurses, as one of the main healthcare workers, is an important issue in health human resources planning in all health systems. Finding the factors affecting it, could help policymakers to solve the shortage of nursing work supply. The present study aimed to investigating the quantity and factors affecting the nurses' labor supply in Iran. Method: In this cross-sectional study, a sample of 598 nurses working in public hospitals of Shiraz (Iran) were selected via proportionate stratified random sampling method. The required data was collected using a structured questionnaire which asked working hours and other related factors. To analyze the data, descriptive statistics, univariate analysis and multivariate linear regression were performed using STATA 15. The multivariate labor supply model was estimated separately for married and single nurses. Results: The average weekly working hours of nurses was 54.65 h in all medical centers and 50.28 h in the main hospital. The regression results showed that the labor supply of nurses with work experience (β = − 0.368, P = 0.014), satisfaction with work shift arrangement (β = − 2.473, P = 0.001), income between 60-89 million rial (β = − 14.046, P = 0.002), income between 90-119 million rial(β = − 12.073, P = 0.012), and working in the emergency department (β = − 5.043, P = 0.017) had negative and significant relationship; But there was a positive and significant relationship with satisfaction of the work environment (β = 1.86, P = 0.011), workload at work (β = 1.951, P = 0.023) and employment status (contractual employees) (β = 4.704, P = 0.004). Conclusion: The labor supply function of nurses is affected by demographic, economic and non-economic factors. The most contributing factors were related to non-economic variables. Aims: To identify latent profiles of competence and perceptions of spiritual care among clinical nurses and explore the possible influencing factors. Background: Understanding nurses' level of spiritual care competence and their perceptions and acceptance of such care is important, which could help devise nurse training programmes to address such competence in clinical nurses. However, research addressing interindividual variability in competence and perceptions among Chinese nurses is lacking. Design: Multicentre cross‐sectional study. Methods: Nurses working in departments with critically ill patients from 12 community, 5 secondary and 10 tertiary hospitals in Shanghai completed a demographic information questionnaire and the Chinese versions of the Spiritual Care Competence Scale, Spiritual Care‐Giving Scale and Spiritual Perspectives Scale. The data were analysed using IBM SPSS v26.0 and Mplus version 8.3. Latent profile analysis identified subgroups with different levels of spiritual care competence. Results: In total, 1277 Chinese nurses were recruited. Four profiles of competence and perceptions of spiritual care were revealed: Low ability (23.8%), High ability (6.4%), High acceptance (34.9%) and Moderate (34.9%). The level of job position, spiritual care‐related education, hospital grade and nurses' perceptions and perspectives of spiritual care predicted the probability of profile memberships in their competence. Conclusions: There was heterogeneity in the characteristics of spiritual care competence. Nursing managers can implement individualised interventions, including relevant training, according to the influencing factors of different competence profiles to improve the level of such competence among nurses. Relevance to Clinical Practice: The results provide a new and expanded view of improving nurses' spiritual care competence. Introduction: Nursing care left undone occurs when nurses omit activities because of resource shortfalls. Higher levels of nursing care left undone are associated with worse nurse staffing and organizational factors. Plentiful evidence from acute, long‐term and community care supports such associations; however, mental healthcare settings are under‐studied. Aim: The aim of the study was to describe nursing care left undone's frequency in mental health inpatient settings and explore its association with nurse staffing levels. Method: As part of the multi‐centre cross‐sectional MatchRN Psychiatry study, data were collected by questionnaire from 114 units in 13 Swiss psychiatric hospitals. Nursing care left undone was analysed describing frequencies descriptively and used linear mixed models to assess its association with staffing. Results: Data from 994 nurses were analysed. The most commonly omitted activities were evaluating nursing processes (30.5%), formulating nursing diagnoses (27.4%) and defining care objectives (22.7%). Nursing care left undone was higher in units with low staffing levels. Discussion: As in somatic care settings, in psychiatric hospitals, 'indirect' care activities are most commonly omitted. Implications for Practice: This study highlights factors affecting the frequency of nursing care left undone, including staffing levels and perceived leadership. Background. As nursing interns enter challenging clinical settings, evaluating their preparation and readiness is vital for adaptation success. Sufficient real-world experience and patient care are crucial preparation components that enable effective practice and higher competencies. Aim. This study aimed to assess nurse interns' perception of clinical preparation and readiness for clinical internship experiences. Methods. A self-administered questionnaire was distributed, comprising three sections on demographics, clinical preparation requirements, and the Casey–Fink Readiness for Practice Survey. Descriptive statistics as the mean and standard deviation, numbers and percentages, linear regression model, and Pearson correlation coefficient were used for reporting normal distribution, categorical variables, and relationship between a scalar response and one or more explanatory variables and to calculate statistics between two continuous variables. Results. The participants were 130 nurse interns who were involved in an internship between 2016 and 2020, 50% of the nurse interns. They had a moderate level of clinical preparation, and 28.5% of them exhibited a low level. In addition, 53.8% were found to be moderately ready for practice, while 22.3% had a low level of readiness Conclusion. The observed significant positive correlation between perceived preparation and readiness underscores the pivotal role of clinical preparation in influencing practice readiness. Implications. Aims: The aims of the study were to determine the types and prevalence of forensic mental health nurse exposure to patient aggression and explore the impact of these exposures on their physical and mental health and work absences. Design: Cross-sectional survey conducted January to April 2020. Methods: All 205 nurses working in an Australian high-security inpatient forensic mental health hospital were invited to participate. An online survey included the Perception of Prevalence of Aggression Scale to measure respondent exposure to types of patient aggression, and the SF-36v2 to measure mental and physical health. Absence from work and other work and individual characteristics were also explored. Results: Sixty-eight respondents completed the survey. Verbal abuse was the most experienced aggression type, followed by physical violence and observing violence, patient self-harming behaviours and sexual violence. Nurses who worked in acute units experienced significantly more exposure to overall aggression than nurses in non-acute units. Higher level of aggression was associated with number of days sick leave taken and days off due to aggression or violence. Higher level of aggression was associated with poorer mental health, and patient self-harming behaviour was associated with poorer physical health. Conclusions: Nurses in acute units experience higher levels of inpatient aggression and are therefore at increased risk of being impacted by the exposure. Findings indicate a psychological impact of exposure to frequent aggression and potential for an accumulative effect of exposure to traumatic events on nurse well-being. Nurses who are victim of, or witness, physical violence are most likely to take time off work. Impact: This study provides further evidence that forensic mental health nurses are frequently exposed to various forms of patient aggression. For some nurses, this exposure to patient aggression negatively impacted their mental and physical health. Employing organizations should therefore prioritize provision of formal support for nurses. Aim: The study's main objective was to use a fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis to identify the configuration of recipes that predict nurses' safety compliance behaviour. Design: A cross-sectional design. Methods: A survey was used where questionnaires were collected from 285 nurses across four primary healthcare hospitals within the Ashanti Region, Ghana. The data collection happened between June 1 to August 2, 2022. A fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis was used to identify the recipes of psychological factors that determine nurses' safety compliance behaviour. Results: Results from the study suggest that the necessary configurations that explained nurses' safety compliance behaviour came from the presence of subjective norm, attitude, perceived behavioural control, perceived organizational support and negation of intention. The result highlights the need for safety protocols to be conscious of the interplay between nurses' assessment of self, social clues and perception of management care and support since such psychological factors must be considered concurrently to achieve the optimal safety compliance behaviour among nurses. Conclusion: A health and safety protocol that fails to recognize the importance of psychological antecedents on subordinates' safety compliance behaviour could limit the safety policy's usefulness in bringing the appropriate behavioural change in nurses. Impact: To date, no study has combined the antecedents of theory planned behaviour with perceived organizational support and cue to action to assess how they collectively predict nurses' safety compliance behaviour. Findings from the study suggest that nurses in primary health facilities inform their safety compliance behaviour by assessing self-capabilities, social signals from superiors and colleagues and perception of management support. Background: Growing focus on patient-centred care emphasizes humanistic skills and clinical narrative competence in nursing, particularly in assisted reproductive nursing. However, there is limited evidence to suggest the levels of nurse' clinical narrative competence and humanistic care ability. This study aimed to investigate the clinical narrative competence and humanistic care ability of nurse specialists in assisted reproductive technology (ART) in China. Methods: This cross-sectional study included nurses who obtained the ART specialist nurse certificate after nurse training in Zhejiang province assisted reproductive technology specialist nurse training base between 2017 and 2022. A demographic questionnaire, the Caring Ability Inventory (CAI) and Narrative Competence Scale (NCS) were used for data collection. Multivariate linear regression analysis was used to explore risk factors. Results: A total of 122 participants (120 females, with a mean age of 33.35 ± 5.00 years) were included (response rate = 82.43%). NCS score and CAI score was 143.39 ± 19.24 (range: 27–189) and 198.42 ± 19.51 (range: 37–259) among nurse specialists in assisted reproductive technology, respectively. Multivariate linear regression analysis indicated that professional title (β = 20.003, 95%CI: 3.271–36.735, P = 0.020), and the CAI (β = 0.342, 95%CI: 0.180–0.540, P < 0.001) was independently associated with NCS. Head Nurse/ Team Leader/ Clinical Faculty had significantly higher CAI score than nurse (P = 0.006). Conclusions: The clinical narrative competence and caring ability of nurse specialists in assisted reproductive technology was considered sufficient. Professional titles and work position were associated with clinical narrative competence. States are struggling to assure an adequate number of registered nurses are active in the clinical workforce to serve patients and communities. Nurse compact legislation—enacted in 39 states—facilitates interstate recognition of nurse licensure. We used a cross-sectional email survey of registered nurses in Michigan to measure their opinions on compact licensure legislation and examined differences in compact licensure opinions by nurses' personal characteristics. Primary analyses reported herein are from 7,098 Michigan nurses with complete data. Most respondents felt that the compact would make it easier to redeploy nurses in an emergency (76.6%), improve access to nursing care (66.6%), and boost their personal career options (55.1%). Most nurses disagreed that compact legislation would weaken patient protections (60.7%). The majority expressed neutral feelings on whether compact licensure would make disciplinary actions more difficult to enforce (50.9%) and a plurality that current licensure policies were satisfactory (44.0%). The majority were supportive of Michigan joining the compact (72.3%). In multivariable analysis, stronger support for joining the compact was associated with advanced degrees, male sex, and younger age. Less support was associated with membership in a collective bargaining unit. Policymakers who wish to ease acute nurse vacancies should consider enacting nurse licensure compact legislation. Aims. This study was designed to investigate the impact of inclusive leadership on challenge-oriented citizenship behaviors and examine the mediating role of organizational justice on the relationship between inclusive leadership and challenge-oriented citizenship behaviors among nurses. Background. Leaders exhibiting an inclusive leadership style have the potential to create a positive work climate and motivate members of the organization. However, the mechanisms by which organizational justice contributes to this process remain to be explored, particularly in terms of how it motivates challenge-oriented organizational citizenship behaviors. Method. A cross-sectional questionnaire survey was conducted among nurses in China at the end period of the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 527 registered nurses were enrolled and completed the self-report questionnaires including inclusive leadership scale, organizational justice scale, and challenge-oriented citizenship behavior scale. The hypotheses were tested using hierarchical multiple regression analyses and structural equation modelling. Results. The results of empirical tests revealed that nurse leader's inclusive leadership had a positive relationship on nurses' challenge-oriented organizational citizenship behaviors (β = 0.823, p < 0.001) after controlling several demographic covariates. Meanwhile, inclusive leadership was positively linked to organizational justice (β = 0.747, p < 0.001), and the indirect effect of inclusive leadership on nurses' challenge-oriented citizenship behaviors through organizational justice was statistically significant (β = 0.641, p < 0.001). Furthermore, the model fit indices were χ2/df = 1.952, RMSEA = 0.043, CFI = 0.979, and TLI = 0.977, indicating that the model had high quality. Conclusion. This study could help nurse leaders with inclusive leadership style have a better understanding and taking the advantages of the influence mechanism of organizational justice in inspiring nurses' challenge-oriented citizenship behaviors. While nurse managers can inspire challenge-oriented organizational citizenship behaviors through inclusive leadership, they should also emphasize the evaluative and behavioral-shaping effects of organizational justice. Both leadership and organizational justice are essential to motivate challenge-oriented organizational citizenship behaviors and to foster organizational development. Moreover, managers should focus on the process and conditions of implementing organizational justice to ensure fairness within the organization and to create a conducive environment for challenge-oriented organizational citizenship behaviors. Background: Nurses face substantial career challenges arising from global pandemics, economic crises, and their roles in conflict-ridden areas. In this context, the rights of nurses pertaining to decent work, such as freedom, fairness, safety, and dignity, are not adequately safeguarded. This study examines decent work status among Chinese nurses and its links to demographics, work engagement, and turnover intention. Methods: A cross-sectional study design was used following STROBE guidelines. Through a convenient sampling method, a total of 476 nurses were surveyed. These participants were drawn from three esteemed tertiary Grade A hospitals in Hangzhou, with data collection spanning from June to August in 2023. We used a comprehensive set of assessment instruments, encompassing an evaluation of demographic characteristics, the Decent Work Perceptions Scale (DWPS), the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UEWS), and turnover intention questionnaire. Bootstrapping procedures were used to ensure the robustness and reliability of the model. Results: The study revealed that nurses' perceptions of decent work significantly impacted work engagement (β = 0.603, p < 0.001) and turnover intention (β = -0.275, p < 0.001). Work engagement operated as a mediator between decent work and turnover intention, decreasing the likelihood of nurses leaving their positions (β = -0.062, p < 0.001). Factors such as age, years of working experience, professional title, job category, and attendance at professional conferences significantly influenced nurses' perceptions of decent work (all p < 0.05). Conclusions: This study examines factors affecting decent work among nurses and explores its connection with work engagement and the intention to leave. Despite limitations (sample, social desirability bias), the study offers valuable insights for nursing practice. This suggests managers improve decent work for young nurses through rational shift schedules and continuous education. Aim. This research study aims to examine the professional quality of life (ProQOL) among healthcare workers (HCWs) in Pakistan during the fourth wave of COVID-19. Background. Under intense pressure to fight the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, HCWs are more likely to experience psychological problems. Numerous investigations carried out in the past at various points during the pandemic have shown that COVID-19 has had important detrimental effects on HCWs. However, there are many unknowns with regard to ProQOL for HCWs. Methods. This is a cross-sectional study conducted with Pakistani HCWs who performed their duties during the fourth wave of COVID-19. Data were collected between January 1 and March 31, 2022. A total of 258 HCWs took part in the study evaluating ProQOL. The significance level was <0.05. Results. Most respondents were males (79.1%), and 20.9% were females. The scores of secondary traumatic stress (STS), burnout (BO), and compassion satisfaction (CS) were 24.03 ± 3.79, 19.18 ± 2.92, and 35.29 ± 4.37, respectively. Compared with higher-income groups, HCWs with lower incomes were significantly (P < 0.001) more likely to experience psychological issues. Males had lower BO and STS than female HCWs (P < 0.001). Similarly, doctors had a lower STS than nurses (P < 0.05). HCWs who worked hours per day longer had a heavier STS (P < 0.001). Conclusion. This study shows low BO levels, moderate CS levels, and STS levels among HCWs. HCWs with lower salary were at a higher risk of mental distress due to the pandemic. HCWs who worked for long hours and had less income had more STS and BO. HCWs who were dissatisfied with their works had poor CS. Implications for Nursing Management. It is supposed that these results may help HCW managers to improve job satisfaction and rewards while reducing working hours and workload to improve the ProQOL of HCWs fighting COVID-19. Aim: This study is to investigate the current status of knowledge, attitude and self‐reported practice in hospice care among nurses in Hainan, China, and then to analyse its influencing factors and mediating effects. This provides a basis for formulating scientific and standardized hospice care training programmes for nurses. Methods: This cross‐sectional study investigated knowledge, attitude and self‐reported practice in hospice care among 1819 nurses in Hainan, China. Convenience sampling was used to select participants from 45 hospitals and nursing homes in 14 cities and counties from October to December 2021. A scale of knowledge, attitude and self‐reported practice of healthcare providers in hospice care (Chinese version) was administered to collect data during the study period. Statistical analyses, including t‐tests, one‐way ANOVA, post‐hoc analysis and multiple linear regression, assessed the status of knowledge, attitude and self‐reported practice of hospice care in nurses and identified influencing factors. The PROCESS macro program model 4.0 was employed to explore the mediating effect of attitude on knowledge and self‐reported practice in hospice care. Results: Nurses in Hainan displayed low knowledge (mean = 7.68, SD = 3.53), moderate attitudes (mean = 88.13, SD = 12.10) and self‐reported practice (mean = 51.81, SD = 9.82) in hospice care. Current employment and willingness to engage in hospice care were significant factors influencing knowledge, attitude and self‐reported practice in hospice care. Attitude partially mediated the relationship between knowledge and self‐reported practice. Background: Research has shown sleep problems, elevated fatigue, and high cases of burnout, as well as signs of post‐traumatic stress and psychological distress among nurses during the COVID‐19 pandemic. Many US hospitals attempted to minimise its impact on staff by providing basic resources, mental health services, and wellness programs. Therefore, it is critical to re‐evaluate these well‐being indices and guide future administrative efforts. Purpose: To determine the long‐term impact of the COVID‐19 pandemic after 18 months on hospital nurses' insomnia, fatigue, burnout, post‐traumatic stress, and psychological distress. Design Cross‐sectional. Methods: Data were collected online mainly through state board and nursing association listservs between July–September 2021 (N = 2488). The survey had psychometrically tested instruments (Insomnia Severity Index, Occupational Fatigue Exhaustion Recovery Scale, Maslach Burnout Inventory, Short Post‐Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Patient Health Questionnaire‐4) and sections on demographics, health, and work. The STrengthening the Reporting of Observational studies in Epidemiology checklist was followed for reporting. Results: Nurses had subthreshold insomnia, moderate‐to‐high chronic fatigue, high acute fatigue, and low‐to‐moderate intershift recovery. Regarding burnout, they experienced increased emotional exhaustion and personal accomplishment, and some depersonalisation. Nurses had mild psychological distress but scored high on post‐traumatic stress. Nurses who frequently cared for patients with COVID‐19 in the past months scored significantly worse in all measures than their co‐workers. Factors such as nursing experience, shift length, and frequency of rest breaks were significantly related to all well‐being indices. Conclusion: Nurses' experiences were similar to findings from the early pandemic but with minor improvements in psychological distress. Nurses who frequently provided COVID‐19 patient care, worked ≥12 h per shift, and skipped rest breaks scored worse on almost all well‐being indices. Relevance to clinical practice: Administration can help nurses' recovery by providing psychological support, mental health services, and treatment options for insomnia, as well as re‐structure current work schedules and ensure that rest breaks are taken. Aims: To identify the roles and activities of nurses, including advanced practice nursing (APN), and to determine nursing practice patterns across health facilities in Saudi Arabia. Methods: A descriptive cross‐sectional design was used to collect data from 207 nurses working in the Saudi health sector between November 2021 and March 2022 through an online questionnaire. The Advanced Practice Role Delineation tool was used to measure and delineate nursing practice patterns and activities. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and analysis of variance. The study followed the Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology reporting guidelines. Results: Findings showed that participants, regardless of their current role, reported high scores across all domains of practice. The highest average score was obtained for the Clinical Care domain. Except for the leadership domain, findings showed that those reported working as advanced practice nurses had higher average scores across all domains than those working as staff nurses or being in managerial/administrative positions. There were significant differences in the average Clinical Care scores between advanced practice nurses and staff nurses. Conclusion: Advanced practice nursing roles and activities are being practised in Saudi Arabia; however, there is no clear delineation of these roles and activities according to a unified and national‐level APN scope of practice. Impacts: Advanced practice nursing roles are evolving in Saudi Arabia; however, no study has examined the existing patterns of APN activities in Saudi Arabia. Stroke is a global leading cause of death and disability. Knowledge of related guidelines is crucial for emergency department (ED) staff, influencing early diagnosis and timely treatment. We investigated Greek Cypriot ED healthcare professionals' (nurses and physicians) knowledge in recognizing and managing stroke. A descriptive cross-sectional study spanned November 2019 to April 2020, encompassing four private and seven public EDs in the Republic of Cyprus. The data were collected through a self-reported questionnaire developed by the research team, consisting of 37 questions. Eight questions focused on sociodemographic and employment characteristics, twenty-eight assessed knowledge in stroke recognition and management (each item was equally weighted without deliberate prioritization), and one question addressed self-assessment of knowledge in stroke care. A total of 255 nurses (response rate (RR): 74.1%) and 26 physicians (RR: 47.3%) completed the questionnaire. The average correct response rate was 12.9 out of 28 statements (SD: 4.2), with nurses and physicians scoring 12.6 (SD: 4.1) and 15.7 (SD: 4), respectively. Work experience significantly influenced stroke knowledge, with all groups demonstrating superiority over those with less than one year of experience. Participants with previous training scored an average of 1.45 additional correct answers while educational attainment did not significantly influence stroke knowledge. Investigating stroke knowledge among emergency department nurses and physicians in the Republic of Cyprus revealed significant deficits. This study stresses targeted interventions, including education, yearly examinations, workshops with hands-on training, and repeated training, to address these gaps and enhance the overall stroke care capabilities of the healthcare professionals. Resilience is considered a core capability for nurses in managing workplace challenges and adversity. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought care homes into the public consciousness; yet, little is known about the resilience of care home nurses and the attributes required to positively adapt in a job where pressure lies with individuals to affect whole systems. To address this gap, an online survey was undertaken to explore the levels of resilience and potential influencing factors in a sample of care home nurses in Northern Ireland between January and April 2022. The survey included the Connor–Davidson Resilience Scale, demographic questions and items relating to nursing practice and care home characteristics. Mean differences and key predictors of higher resilience were explored through statistical analysis. A moderate level of resilience was reported among the participants (n = 56). The key predictors of increased resilience were older age and higher levels of education. The pandemic has exposed systemic weakness but also the strengths and untapped potential of the care home sector. By linking the individual, family, community and organisation, care home nurses may have developed unique attributes, which could be explored and nurtured. With tailored support, which capitalises on assets, they can influence a much needed culture change, which ensures the contribution of this sector to society is recognised and valued. (1) Background: Although numerous studies related to communication in a nursing context have been conducted, there is a lack of research considering the effects of personal and organisational communication factors on the self-efficacy for handoffs. This study aimed to identify the impact of communication competence and intra-organisational communication satisfaction on self-efficacy for handoffs among nurses. (2) Methods: This cross-sectional research was conducted between September and October 2018. In total, 203 registered nurses were invited to participate in the study by convenience sampling from five general hospitals in South Korea. (3) Results: In the final regression model, the adjusted R square was significant, explaining 24.2% of the variance in self-efficacy for handoffs (F = 22.43, p = 0.001) when the variable horizontal communication (β = 0.282, p < 0.001) was included in intra-organisational communication satisfaction. In addition, the longer the nurse's experience in the current unit and the higher the communication competence, the more statistically significant the self-efficacy for handoffs was found to be (β = 0.215, p = 0.001 and β = 0.180, p = 0.008). (4) Conclusions: To enhance the self-efficacy for handoffs, nurse managers should foster an atmosphere that allows their staff nurses to interact freely and establish specific guidelines for handoffs through mutual communication. Introduction: Organizations still struggle with the best mechanisms to implement research into practice, and guideline developers need to continue to strive toward collaboration and avoidance of duplication. Objective: To assess the utilization of evidence-based nursing practice and associated factors among nurses working in Saint Paul's Hospital Millennium Medical College, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 2022. Methods: An institutional-based cross-sectional study was conducted from 10 September 2022 to 25 November 2022. The total sample size was 418, and a simple random sampling technique was used to select nurses. Data were collected through a self-administered questionnaire. Data were entered using EpiData version 4.6 and exported to SPSS version 25 for analysis. Multicollinearity was considered by using a variance inflation factor (VIF > 10). The goodness of fit test was done using the Hosmer–Lemeshow model. Binary logistic regression was done, and variables with a p -value of less than 0.25 in the bivariable analysis were taken into the multivariable analysis. Statistical significance was declared at a p -value of less than 0.05 with an adjusted odds ratio and 95% confidence interval. Result: The utilization of evidence-based nursing practice was 58.1% [95% CI: 52.23–63.24]. Male sex [AOR 4.65, 95%CI: 2.51–8.63], work experience of >5 years [AOR 6.83, 95%CI: 2.27–20.58], head nurse role in the hospital [AOR 1.72, 95%CI: 1.02–3.18], master's degree educational status [AOR 2.78, 95%CI: 1.89–8.61], and availability of EBNP guideline in the ward [AOR 1.24, 95%CI: 1.04–5.32] were significantly associated. Conclusion: About six in 10 nurses utilize EBNP at Saint Paul's Hospital Millennium Medical College. Sex, experience of >5 years, head nurse role in the hospital, master's degree educational status, and availability of EBNP guidelines in the ward were significantly associated with the utilization of EBNP. Therefore, recruiting experienced nurses, learning master's degrees, and availing the EBNP guidelines in the ward might increase the utilization of EBNP. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aims. To examine the association between job satisfaction and the intention to leave and explore the factors associated with job satisfaction or the intention to leave among foreign-educated nurses in Japan. Design. A cross-sectional design was used, and data were collected through an online survey of nurses who were born and received their basic nursing education outside of Japan but are currently working as registered nurses in Japan. Data were analyzed across two phases: the first explored the related factors with intention to leave and job satisfaction using bivariate analysis and regression through IBM SPSS; the second examined the theoretical framework model using a structural equation model through IBM Amos. Results. Data from 180 participants (effective response rate: 87.4%) were analyzed. Overall, foreign-educated nurses reported moderate job satisfaction level in Japan. The final model showed good fit indices, indicating that higher workplace discrimination, lower Japanese language satisfaction, and not receiving orientation were predictors of foreign-educated nurses' lower job satisfaction. Lower job satisfaction, fewer years of nursing practice in Japan, single status, and higher language satisfaction predicted a higher intention to leave. Conclusion. This study provides incremental evidence of a negative relationship between job satisfaction and intention to leave among foreign-educated nurses in Japan. Workplace discrimination was the main predictor of nurses' job dissatisfaction and indirectly correlated with their intention to leave, as mediated by job satisfaction. Implications. Our study suggests that managers should provide a supportive and equal work environment, including implementing policies to reduce workplace discrimination and providing adequate support programs to enhance foreign-educated nurses' job satisfaction and reduce their turnover intention. Purpose: The aim of the current study was to measure grip strength along with correlates, to inform recommendations to protect students entering the nursing workforce and increase career longevity, as well as health, among working nurses.Participants and Methods: A convenience sample of nursing staff and students (18 to 59 years) at a large teaching hospital (N = 316) participated in a cross-sectional study. A brief survey included sociodemographic questions, the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-4), and the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ). Anthropometric measures included height, weight, waist circumference, and hand grip strength using a Jamar digital dynamometer.Results: Only 22.5% of the participants met Indian normative grip strength parameters by age and gender, and on average had a normal body mass index (M = 22.31, SD 4.15). Grip strength was significantly associated with BMI and waist circumference, which explained 76% of the variance in grip strength.Conclusion: This study provides a baseline measurement of grip strength among Indian nursing staff and students, and documents grip strength among young adults (18– 20 years of age) who were not included in published normative grip strength data among healthy Indian participants. Data from the current study demonstrates that very few participants met normative grip strength, thus indicating the need for strengthening. Variance in grip strength was largely explained by waist circumference, pointing to the importance of nutrition.
