This study aimed to address these limitations by employing a systematic approach. Initially, body measurements of 115 children were meticulously recorded and subjected to statistical analysis. Subsequently, a children's jeans paper pattern was chosen, and a predictive model for pattern sizing was developed using BP neural networks. Additionally, a parametric mathematical model was constructed by integrating the design principles of the paper pattern. Using the Visual-LISP programming language on the Auto-CAD 2020 edition platform, an editing process was performed to create a children's jeans automatic drawing program. The predicted pattern size data for children's jeans were then imported into the DCL dialog box of Auto-CAD, enabling the automatic generation of paper patterns. Mathematical modeling is a high-leverage topic; it is critical to students' participation in STEM education and supports civic engagement. Until recently, research on modeling at the elementary level has been underemphasized, particularly research on supports and challenges for teachers who engage in designing authentic modeling tasks. In this study, we employed qualitative case study methods to investigate how elementary teachers designed and implemented authentic mathematical modeling tasks, with an explicit focus on how their tasks evidenced different dimensions of authenticity. We analyzed three cases of teams of elementary teachers as they developed modeling tasks connected to school and community contexts. The three cases were: 1) a student-driven modeling task related to paper and plastic waste in a school cafeteria, 2) a modeling task based on authentic situations at a community-run resource center, and 3) a modeling task focused on designing and monitoring a school community-building art project. Our cases illustrate that elementary teachers can successfully design and implement modeling activities that utilize different entry points and evidence multiple dimensions of authenticity. Introduction: Widening participation in education by including students from underrepresented groups has been recognized as important for the last decade. During the recent pandemic, the interest in how to make students from different backgrounds feel part of the university, and connected to their studies and peers, has become an even more widespread concern and therefore important to explore further. The aim of our study was to develop a conceptual model for educational design to support student engagement and participation, by exploring pedagogical aspects recognized as being valuable during widening participation initiatives. Methods: We used meta-ethnography following the recommended seven steps: getting started, developing a search strategy, reading and assessing the quality of the papers, analyzing how the different studies related to each other based on the interpretation of quotations of the informants (first order) and the researchers of the articles (second order), translating the meaning of the studies, developing a line of argument, and finally developing a conceptual model to express the synthesis. Three databases we used: PubMed, ERIC, and Scopus; the PRISMA workflow was used. Results: Six articles with a qualitative approach were included. A conceptual model was developed with the theme 'Scaffolding Strategies' and four sub-themes: Academic Support, Social Interaction, Processing Expectations and Clarifying Learning Progress. Conclusion: We developed a conceptual model from previous studies that entailed aspects of particular importance to support widening participation. By using scaffolding strategies in course design, teachers and students may collectively improve the learning environment to promote widening participation, through clear instructions and frequent interaction, communication and calibration of expectations, clarification of learning processes and progress, and support for academic-skills development. Furthermore, the importance of using academic support and social interaction between students and teachers early on, to encourage students to explore how to become an independent learner, is highlighted. The selective maintenance problem (SMP) arises in many mission-oriented multi-component systems that are operated for consecutive missions interspersed with finite breaks, during which only limited component repairs can be performed due to constrained resources. This NP-hard problem decides which components to maintain and to what levels of repair to guarantee a pre-specified performance level during the subsequent mission. Over the last two decades, a sizeable body of literature has been published on this topic. However, the contributions have stagnated in quality, and most articles deal with small to moderate problems. This paper provides a critical review of the SMP literature. A total of 136 research articles related to SMP are reviewed and a selection of key representative models is discussed in detail. This review is framed according to two feature categories: formulation characteristics, composed of three sub-groups of characteristics related to the system, maintenance and mathematical model characteristics; and solution approaches, grouped by exact methods and approximate algorithms. This critical review is aimed at identifying drawbacks, shortcomings, and blind spots of the SMP literature, and providing a roadmap for the challenges to be addressed and innovative future research topics to further advance the academic and industrial contributions of SMP. The excitatory autapse has been discovered recently by researchers in the pyramidal neurons, which could regulate the neuronal firing, while the spiking properties of the neuron with excitatory autapse (NWEA) have not been adequately studied. To further shorten such a gap, in this paper, a mathematical model is constructed for the NWEA to examine its spiking characteristics from two large scales: the external factors (which include the magnitude and location of the electrode current and the ambient temperature) and the internal factors (which consist of the location and maximum conductance of the excitatory autapse). The interspike interval (ISI), the spiking count (SC) and the spiking rhythm (SR) are used to analyse the spike trains. It is shown that the numerical results are coincident with the biological experiments, i.e. the excitatory autapse wholly enhances the bursting phenomenon and increases the neuronal responsiveness. In addition, as the maximum conductance of the excitatory autapse increases, the SC is gradually reduced but the SR is more active. With the variation of the current locations, the spike trains of the NWEA are more sensitive than those of the neuron without excitatory autapse. Furthermore, the ISI, SC and SR are all sensitive to the five types of parameters in various degrees. The results obtained in this paper may provide some instructions in regulating the firing of NWEA from the above five factors, and the proposed model for the NWEA provides a basis to perform more complex studies for the neurons with autapse. Online ride-hailing services provide additional transportation capability by recruiting private vehicles to meet people's growing travel demand. To ensure the profitability of drivers and platforms, pick-up efficiency and frequency must be maintained at high levels. Therefore, consistency between the spatial distribution of drivers and that of travel demand becomes a key issue to address. This paper proposes a prediction-based iterative Kuhn-Munkres approach for service vehicle reallocation in the context of large-scale online ride-hailing. Firstly, preliminaries are formally defined and a novel mathematical model for the problem is proposed. Secondly, a deep spatio-temporal residual perception network is designed to accurately predict travel demand. Thirdly, an iterative Kuhn-Munkres approach combined with an improved A-Star algorithm is developed to reallocate service vehicles to spatial locations according to their distinct travel demand densities. Due to today's competitive environment and information boom, companies are concerned about production planning in uncertain conditions. This paper integrates decision-making method with production scheduling model by considering limited resources. In this paper, a new mathematical model is extended for production project scheduling with multiple execution modes. The main aim of the formulation is to plan and schedule real production projects in uncertain environments. A new mixed-integer linear formulation is presented by considering trade-off of cost, time, as well as quality. Cost–time-quality trade-off is extended with the interval information. In the presented model, activity quality could be enhanced by reworking. The interval forms of some parameters, including duration, quality of activities, cost, and total available resources, are obtained by determining weights of experts and aggregating them. The presented group decision-making method is based on a bi-directional projection measure to deal with interval information. Since the mathematical model is multi-objective and some data are interval, a new modified solution method is developed for solving the model. The presented method for both decision-making and mathematical models is investigated by a real-world production project and two datasets to ascertain the accuracy of the model. A grey-box modelling incorporating mechanism and data is presented in this paper to predict the ship manoeuvering motion. The traditional mathematical model in three degrees of freedom is adopted to reveal the known movement mechanism, in which an additional hydrodynamic correction term is developed by Neural Network (NN) based on the data to adaptively estimate the errors induced by the idealised approximation. The KRISO Container Ship (KCS) is taken as the study object and the free-running model tests are carried out to obtain the data for establishing the NN model of hydrodynamic correction terms. The typical manoeuvers (tactical circles, zigzags, Williamson turns) are simulated by the grey-box model and the mathematical model, respectively. The results indicate that the grey-box modelling method proposed in this paper can not only improve the prediction accuracy but also demonstrate a good generalisation performance. Green Care therapies are defined as the engagement of a patient with the nature, exposing patients to a nature based therapeutic setting that may facilitate their recovery. Such therapies became popular at the end of the twentieth century. This therapeutic approach may include therapeutic horticulture, nature therapies, care farming, facilitated exercise, and animal-assisted therapies with farm animals (AATF). This paper describes the processes of planning and creating an AATF-based clinical intervention wherein persons with TBI interacted with ducks (in twice weekly, 1-hour groups) for 12 wk at a TBI rehabilitation facility. The discussion includes site identification, stakeholder engagement, intervention design and human and animal safety procedures. The research methods, theoretical framework, ethical consideration, and risk reduction strategies for human participants and ducks are discussed. Also, description of challenges and blueprints of possible solutions for other researchers interested in developing similar initiatives. This program will serve as a study site for examining effects of AATF-based interventions on self-efficacy, depression, and anxiety in persons with TBI. If the study suggests that AATF interventions with ducks may lead to positive changes, the proposed study will be followed with studies that include larger samples at multiple sites. Findings in this paper may contribute to the implementation science body of knowledge. Because of that, the information in this paper may benefit the researchers outside of the healthcare arena. Harmful sexual behaviour that occurs between siblings (HSB-S) is thought to be one of the most common forms of intrafamilial abuse. Despite an increase in academic papers, and acknowledgement of the prevalence of the problem, there is still a lack of specific assessment and intervention models. The aim of this paper is to provide an overview on the Assessment, Intervention and Moving On (AIM) HSB-S Practice Guidance. The framework draws on the literature and evidence-based models, as well as clinical practice illustrated by the four-case series summarised. Of the four-case series illustrated in the paper positive outcomes were observed. In addition, the intervention includes the practitioner guiding the family to write a structured narrative which supports them to restore family relationships and find a way of moving forward. This guidance will strengthen practitioner's skills and confidence in working with families impacted by HSB-S and provide hope for them that they can heal from this crisis. This paper provides a preview for the AIM HSB-S Practice Guidance illustrated by a case series. Motivated by a practical problem, this paper investigates the integrated planning of maintenance operations and workload allocation on a set of machines in a workshop. Given quantities of products to be produced per period on a planning horizon must be processed on unrelated flexible machines. Moreover, each machine has to undergo one or more maintenance operations that must be planned within a given time window and impact products differently. The main goal is to find a feasible plan that satisfies the machine capacity by allocating the production quantities to machines and assigning maintenance operations as late as possible in their time windows. Various original mathematical models are presented. In particular, we propose models that allow maintenance operations and some production quantities to overlap two consecutive periods. Computational experiments based on industrial data show that allowing this overlapping helps the earliness of maintenance operations to be significantly reduced in the most difficult instances, going for example from a total of 14 periods to only 1 period, and by more than 35% on average. Chronic low back pain is a leading cause of disability worldwide. A clinical model for its cause is lacking. Defining a cause based clinical model and a framework of understanding back pain in terms of peripheral structural and central functional pain is essential for optimal management. We describe the results of the largest published audit of 41 chronic low back pain patients, receiving outpatient sublingual ketamine therapy for defined central functional pain along with conventional peripheral structural pain management. Our clinical model assigns Movement Dysfunction as the primary cause for low back pain symptoms and restores it with Movement Therapy focused rehabilitation which is also defined. Patients were derived from a tertiary single neurosurgical specialist practice in Brisbane Australia over a three year period. Severe pain and disability measurements more than halved and only 13% of patients ceased ketamine prematurely due to predominantly non-sinister side effects common to all pharmaceutical therapies. All other surveyed metrics of utility were highly favourable in this challenging cohort of chronic back pain patients biased to poor outcomes. Outpatient ketamine maintains high efficacy and safety used in conjunction with a unique clinical model that describes chronic low back pain. This paper builds on our previous publications that describe the disease of movement dysfunction as an integral factor to the development of a cause based clinical model for the condition of chronic low back pain symptoms. Our clinical application of this model, applying the necessary dual approach of controlling symptoms arising from peripheral structural pain and central functional pain in conjunction with elimination of root causation has shown favourable outcomes in patients with high levels of pain and disability based on their tertiary referral origin and high Oswestry Disability Scores. Removing chronic low back pain from its position as one of the world's leading causes of pain and disability is more likely if the rehabilitation industry can replicate and test treatment algorithms based around established clinical models of disease which is the important subject of this paper. Research surrounding queer populations has been extremely limited, especially for couples that include transgender individuals. This paper will have a clinical focus on how Satir's Experiential Model can be integrated with Intersectional Feminist Theory and Queer Theory to create a trans-affirming treatment approach. The fusion of these models allows therapists to challenge traditional power dynamics and societal messages in therapy. This article provides practical ways that clinicians can adapt traditional experiential interventions in critically informed ways. Using a session-by-session overview, the case study demonstrates how a clinician might integrate these approaches. Recommendations for clinicians, students, and the field are included. Objectives: This systematic review aims to advance the understanding of the complicated effects of segregation on older adults' cognition and provide guidance for future research. Method: A systematic review using the Social Determinants of Health framework to examine the relationship between segregation and cognition across the selected literature. Results: Eight papers met the criteria for inclusion. All selected studies examined the influence of living in a segregated area on older adults' cognition, covering older adults from different racial/ethnic groups. The association between segregation and cognition was found in different directions across different racial/ethnic groups. The effects can be varied depending on race/ethnicity, level of education, neighborhood socioeconomic status, or social context. Conclusion: This review identified existing gaps in understanding the relationship between segregation and cognition. Future studies should carefully adopt the segregation measures, acknowledge the varying segregation experience among different racial/ethnic groups, and consider more social determinant factors in research. The problem of determining optimal process parameters for multiple processes has not been widely addressed in the literature. Another important consideration that is frequently overlooked is the presense of inspection error during any inspection process due to factors related to human inspectors and measuring instuments. This paper investigates the optimal determination of process parameters in a multi-stage production system in the presence of inspection error. A mathematical model was developed for two processes producing a single product with two quality characteristics. The first quality characteristic was determined by the first process, and the second quality characteristic was determined by both processes. A 100% inspection was used as a means for product quality control and assumed to be error prone. A real case was used to test the developed model. Inspection error was found to have an impact on machine settings and hence the expected profit. The developed model provides quality managers with a mechanism to optimize their processes. The paper presents a historical overview of the development of hydrological models in the former USSR and Russia since the 1930s. An overwhelming number of hydrological papers were published in Russian, and they are not sufficiently well known to the world hydrological community. The purpose of the review is to fill the gap and present the main achievements, some of which were pioneering for their time. The period under consideration is divided into three sub-periods. Pre-computer, the 1930–1950s were associated, first of all, with the development of models of unsteady water flow in river channels and linear flood-routing models; in the 1960–1980s, many theoretical and practical foundations for modelling the processes of the hydrological cycle and the formation of river runoff were developed; and in the Russian era, following 1991, several notable advancements in the considered field were also made. The affective experience generated when users play computer games can influence their attitude and preference towards the game. Existing evaluation means mainly depend on subjective scales and physiological signals. However, some limitations should not be ignored (e.g. subjective scales are not objective, and physiological signals are complicated). In this paper, we 1) propose a novel method to assess user affective experience when playing single-player games based on pleasure-arousal-dominance (PAD) emotions, facial expressions, and gaze directions, and 2) build an artificial intelligence model to identify user preference. Fifty-four subjects participated in a basketball experiment with three difficulty levels. Their expressions, gaze directions, and subjective PAD emotions were collected and analysed. Experimental results showed that the expression intensities of angry, sad, and neutral, yaw angle degrees of gaze direction, and PAD emotions varied significantly under different difficulties. Besides, the proposed model achieved better performance than other machine-learning algorithms on the collected dataset. The optimal scheduling of the active distribution network (ADN) is increasingly challenging due to the rising risk of ADN operation and the growth of user-side flexible resources, driven by clean energy and home device popularization. The method proposed in this paper utilizes network-side and user-side flexible resources to lower operating costs and raise system performance levels under the consideration of grid demand and user demand. In this study, mathematical models of the soft open point (SOP) and electric water heater were first constructed, and the optimal power flow model of the ADN with dynamic network reconfiguration (DNR) was established. By utilizing second-order cone relaxation (SOCR), the original mixed integer nonlinear problem (MINLP) is converted into mixed-integer second-order cone problem (MISOCP). Finally, considering the privacy of user information, a distributed optimization method for ADN integrated with SOPs and user side flexible resources is proposed based on the alternating direction method of multiplier (ADMM). An IEEE 33 bus system is used to confirm the viability of the proposed approach. In order to improve the control accuracy and synchronous performance of the multi-motor control system, this paper proposes an optimal position collaborative control strategy for dual permanent magnet synchronous motor system. Firstly, based on the mathematical model of permanent magnet synchronous motor, an incremental predictive model is established to suppress constant and slow time-varying disturbances caused by changes in rotational inertia and load torque. Afterwards, the predicted compensation amount after multi-step prediction is obtained by minimizing the cost function which contains the synchronous error and tracking error simultaneously, and compensated to the given current loop in advance without changing the original dual motor system structure. Then the controllability and observability of the system are analyzed, and it can be proved that the system is asymptotically stable based on the optimal control theory. Secondly, considering the constraints such as maximum voltage and current limits, the optimal solution under the constraints is output to obtain the reference currents iq1 and iq2. Finally, it is demonstrated through the experiments that the proposed control strategy can achieve advance prediction compensation control of synchronous error, and the dynamic response speed is improved, while ensuring its steady-state performance remains unchanged. For the problem of control of flexible linear double inverted pendulum (FLDIP), considering that the method of obtaining LQR parameters through traditional manual trial-and-error is too cumbersome, and the basic particle swarm optimization algorithm has a slower convergence speed and is prone to a local optimal solution, in this paper, a control method is proposed that it can achieve autonomous optimization based on improved the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. Firstly, the mathematical model of the FLDIPs is given to analyse the stability of the system. Then, the PSO algorithm is improved from the perspective of dynamically adjusting inertia weights to optimize linear quadratic regulator (LQR) parameters. Finally, through simulation comparison with the LQR control effect obtained by the manual trial and error method, the feasibility of the improved PSO algorithm is verified. This method can not only improve the control performance of the system but also effectively overcome the problem of blindness in selecting Q for traditional LQR optimal control. Purpose: This study aims to contribute to the development of a theoretical model that is useful for enhancing well-being/positive mental health with pedagogical resources that enable the acquisition of skills and knowledge, particularly during Emerging Adulthood. Methods: This paper enquires into the role of well-being promotion in higher education following the dual-factor model of mental health difficulties and wellbeing. The study narratively reviews the main well-being models and presents a compared theoretical synthesis examining the dimensions that promote or facilitate the presence of well-being using a promotion approach. Results: The study identifies 14 dimensions involved in wellbeing—emotional, psychological and social factors—that can be potentially improved through learning processes. Drawing on empirical and theoretical studies on emerging adult population, a factorial model is proposed. Preliminary factor interactions are examined paying close attention to the cognitive processes that explain or affect their relationship with well-being, the possible correlations between them and particularities of emerging adults. Conclusion: Wellbeing factors can be particularly targeted by educational promotion, as they can be developed through learning processes. An integrative model that provides a broad perspective can assist in pedagogical design and defining educational goals for these learning processes involved in wellbeing promotion. People participate in many different types of physical activity, both daily and across their life span, but research on human movement is often siloed by type (sport, exercise, active transportation, etc.). Models developed for understanding participation in specific types of physical activity remain useful in those contexts, but are insufficient for describing, explaining, or enhancing movement at the individual or societal level. Physical literacy has the potential to serve this purpose, but its current application does not fulfill its potential for holistic and inclusive promotion of movement. This paper therefore introduces a new framework for physical literacy, Four Domains for Development for All (4D4D4All). This framework highlights the interrelations among the physical, psychological, social, and creative aspects of movement, and emphasizes how development across all four domains can be supported through the interrelations of individuals and their contexts. In this paper, we introduce the 4D4D4All framework and present ideas for its application in research and practice. Specifically, this individualized, holistic, and inclusive approach to physical literacy is an alternative to models that emphasize the production of podium-driven athletes or focus on meeting physical activity guidelines, and is therefore better suited to facilitate the development of flourishing active people. Lay summary: Current models of sport and physical activity participation do not adequately describe the developmental experiences of individuals moving in a variety of contexts. Our new physical literacy framework, Four Domains for Development for All (4D4D4All), enables all movement contexts to better support well-being through a focus on holistic individual development. IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE: Practitioners in sport and physical activity settings should view their participants as whole people who engage in many types of active pursuits, both concurrently and across their life spans. Experiences in movement contexts, including sport, should be intentionally designed to support development of physical literacy in ways that promote development across the physical, psychological, social, and creative domains. Sport policy and physical activity promotion efforts should be based on holistic frameworks, like 4D4D4All, that recognize multiple pathways of participation and promote flourishing for all people, rather than focusing on international competitive success or standardized health metrics. Background: Forty percent of individuals within the Disorders of Consciousness (DoC) spectrum are misdiagnosed as in a vegetative state/unresponsive wakefulness syndrome (VS/UWS) when in fact they are minimally conscious or emerged, underscoring a need to optimize evaluation techniques and interprofessional care management. Primary Objective: Conscious Care is a proposed care model that aims to improve interprofessional care of patients with DoC in the hospital setting. The aim of this paper is to describe this model's key ingredients and various components. Conclusions: This care model will advance clinician and caregiver preparedness to manage the complexities of this population and advocate for equal access to post-hospital medical and rehabilitative services. Evaluation and treatment of survivors of DoC should incorporate current evidence which drives continuous quality improvement and education to clinicians across the continuum of care. Immediate action must be taken to decrease the vulnerability and neglect of this marginalized population. This paper proposes a new bi-objective aircraft and crew recovery model. Unlike previous researches, the proposed model considers all individual flight legs in the recovery process. The objective functions minimize the recovery cost regarding crew swapping, flight cancellation, flight delay, and crew deadhead costs. Besides, the crew sit time is reduced considering the maximum legal working hours and the minimum essential rest time. Moreover, maintenance operations can be done during the ground time, not necessarily at the end of duty day. The model is never infeasible because flight cancelation is an alternative solution for recovering a schedule. A modified Tabu Search (TS) approach has been developed to solve the model. The performance of the model and solution approach is examined by several test problems in small, medium, and large scales. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused critical challenges for e-commerce warehouses that strive to fulfill surging customer demand while facing a high virus infection risk. Current literature on picking optimization overlooks warehouse safety under pandemic conditions. Meanwhile, scattered storage and zone-wave-batch picking have been used in parallel by many large e-commerce warehouses, these two operational policies have not been considered together in picking optimization studies. This paper fills these gaps by solving an order batching problem considering scattered storage, zone-wave-batch picking, and pickers' proximity simultaneously. We formulate and solve the mathematical model of the discussed problem and propose the Aisle-Based Constructive Batching Algorithm (ABCBA) to help warehouses pick more efficiently and safely. Experiments with extensive datasets from a major third-party logistics (3PL) company show that, compared to the current picking strategy, ABCBA can reduce the total picking time and the virus infection risk due to pickers' proximity by 46% and 72%, respectively. Laser welding has been widely employed for aluminum alloy body-in-white. However, owing to the low utilisation efficiency of energy and material, the carbon emission of laser welding is serious. In this paper, the mathematical modelling of carbon emissions and process parameters optimisation for laser welding cells are studied. The carbon emission characteristics of the laser welding system are analysed, and the carbon emission model of the laser welding cell considering both welding features and welding transfers is established. Besides, the process parameters optimisation model of laser welding cell is developed. To obtain optimal welding sequence, a combinatorial algorithm based on Culture Algorithm and Ant Colony Algorithm is proposed. Based on the optimal welding sequence, the optimal transfer speed is obtained through mathematical theory. Furthermore, a case study is performed to verify the feasibility and reliability of the process parameters optimisation model. Additionally, compared with the Ant Colony Algorithm, the proposed solution algorithm has better comprehensive performance in terms of convergence speed and optimisation accuracy. This study lays a theoretical foundation for carbon emission modelling of the laser welding cell, and can support the automobile enterprise to make processing parameters selection of the laser welding line in the design stage. This paper proposes new algorithms for the assembly line balancing problem with hierarchical worker assignment (ALBHW). The ALBHW appears in real industrial contexts, where companies deal with a multi-skilled workforce. It considers task execution times that vary depending on the worker type to whom the task is assigned. Qualification levels among workers are ranked hierarchically, where a lower qualified worker costs less but requires larger execution times then a higher qualified one. The aim is to assign workers and tasks to the stations of an assembly line, in such a way that cycle time and precedence constraints are satisfied, and the total cost is minimised. In this paper, we first present a mathematical model and improve it with preprocessing techniques. Then, we propose a constructive heuristic and a variable neighbourhood descent that are useful to solve large instances. Purpose: The present paper presents developments and advanced practical applications of Rasch's theory and statistical analysis to construct questionnaires for measuring a person's traits. The flaws of questionnaires providing raw scores are well known. Scores only approximate objective, linear measures. The Rasch Analysis allows you to turn raw scores into measures with an error estimate, satisfying fundamental measurement axioms (e.g., unidimensionality, linearity, generalizability). A previous companion article illustrated the most frequent graphic and numeric representations of results obtained through Rasch Analysis. A more advanced description of the method is presented here. Conclusions: Measures obtained through Rasch Analysis may foster the advancement of the scientific assessment of behaviours, perceptions, skills, attitudes, and knowledge so frequently faced in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, not less than in social and educational sciences. Furthermore, suggestions are given on interpreting and managing the inevitable discrepancies between observed scores and ideal measures (data-model "misfit"). Finally, twelve practical take-home messages for appraising published results are provided. The current work is the second of two papers addressed to rehabilitation clinicians looking for an in-depth introduction to the Rasch analysis. The first paper illustrates the most common results reported in published papers presenting the Rasch analysis of questionnaires. Despite various supervised methods and algorithms, prediction methods do not necessarily provide the optimal values of the outputs. In this paper, an approach is proposed based on the integration of the clustering algorithm and a new mathematical programming model for predicting the efficient and optimal level of hospital outputs. In the first stage, units are evaluated using data envelopment analysis (DEA) and then, high-efficiency units are selected. In the second stage, the selected units are clustered based on the inputs of the units using the fuzzy C-means algorithm. For each unit to be estimated, the corresponding cluster is found and the closest unit to the target unit is determined. Finally, using the proposed new mathematical programming model, the optimal values are estimated based on the more efficient unit. A cloud manufacturing (CMfg) system is presented as a novel service- and customer-oriented manufacturing paradigm that integrates the distributed manufacturing enterprises to share their manufacturing capabilities or resources and collaborate as an interconnected system in a dynamic environment. Since the high performance of this system depends on the formation of a suitable group of manufacturing service providers, this paper develops an integrated c onfiguration design and capacity planning problem for the CMfg system by considering the dynamic environment of this system. In this regard, dynamic service providers and dynamic demand are considered as two aspects of the dynamic nature of this system. A multi-period multi-objective mathematical model is proposed by maximising the utilities of all three stakeholders of the system. Moreover, three extensions of a discrete multi-objective grey wolf optimiser (DMOGWO) algorithm are devised to solve the medium- and large-scale instances. A comprehensive computational experiment is conducted to assess the performance of the developed meta-heuristic algorithms. Based on the stress coping theory, the present paper aims to investigate the influence of users' networking ability and profile control ability in mitigating the negativity of social media overload. This paper argues that in the social media context, instead of discontinuance, users tend to develop comprehensive strategies and practices to manage their social media usage. Via an exploratory factor analysis (EFA) study, five practices were identified, including continuous usage, reduced usage, setting adjustment, support seeking, and information avoidance. The results show that social media overload leads to both the perception of emotional exhaustion and disturbance handling while networking and profile control ability make users focus on disturbance handling. Besides, networking ability is found to weaken the relationship between social media overload and emotional exhaustion while profile control ability exaggerates that relationship. This paper is written as a guide for any instructor seeking to develop the mathematical modeling process or open-ended problem solving in their courses. We describe a pedagogical approach to create mini modeling problems to develop the modeling process. These are problems that fall between traditional homework problems and open-ended modeling problems, and focus on specific aspects of the modeling process. Implementing such mini modeling problems is a means of scaffolding the modeling process to engage the students in smaller stages of modeling and prepare them for the full modeling process. This article will briefly introduce the traditional disability studies project through the social model of disability and how its inherent theoretical limitations became the impetus to perpetuate a need to adopt critical disability theory (CDT) to expand the intellectual arsenal of the discipline. Being a reflexive inquiry that resists domination that oppresses people with disabilities, CDT's reach produced work in conversation with other areas of critical social thought and inspired this paper to explore how post-colonial work – particularly Homi Bhabha's hybridity theory – can be incorporated into CDT's paradigmatic views of power. This paper concludes by addressing some of the debates and cultural implications that stem from conceptually merging CDT and post-colonial hybridity theory to frame how it can reimagine the possibilities and trajectories of a global disability movement. Points of interest: This article addresses the two main ideas in disability studies, starting with the social model of disability, which helped put forth critical disability theory. Critical disability theory suggests that people with disabilities are controlled by others using the idea of 'impairment' to justify their power. The article suggests that critical disability theory can benefit from an approach called post-colonial hybridity, which combines global North and South ideas to help represent people with disabilities in the Southern part of the world. The article also concludes by exemplifying how mental health and traditional healing practices are combined to support well-being. In order to study the use of drying models in vacuum-infrared drying, an experiment was conducted to investigate the drying process of cherry pips at different temperatures of 60°C, 70°C and 80°C, drying characteristic curves were constructed and analysed using 6 types of thin layers, and effective diffusion coefficients, moisture content and activation energy were calculated. The results showed that the drying temperature has a greater influence on the drying rate of cherry pits, and the drying time decreases with increasing drying temperature. The main drying step occurs in the downward drying stage. Comparison of the fitting results of the six thin layer drying models presented in this paper showed that Wang and Singh's model fits better for cherry pips (${{\rm{R}}^2} \gt 0,9996$ R 2 > 0 , 9996) and the predicted values of the model agree well with the experimental values. Stigma is a form of injustice that contributes to the worsening course of the symptoms associated with mental health problems. The paper discusses the conceptualization and development of a contemporary theoretical model of stigma. Building on the findings of an initial scoping review, the author developed a theoretical model after thoroughly analyzing and redefining the key concepts of interest. This article proposes that stigmatized individuals are impacted by the religiocultural and structural violence perspectives embedded within social spaces, leading to stigma perception appraisal and subsequent coping mechanisms, which could be adaptive or maladaptive. Current models of mental illness stigma have gaps. It is time to relook at existing stigma frameworks and fill these gaps that have existed for many years for effective anti-stigma strategies. (2008) provided a framework for InterprofessionalResearch.Global to develop two strategic organizational partnerships consistent with its mission, vision, and goals to explore interprofessional research and policy gaps through global research partnerships, grow and sustain communities of practice, and mobilize evidence-informed interprofessional education and collaborative practice across multiple and diverse contexts. This paper introduces a course design for a post-Calculus undergraduate course on mathematical modeling for the life sciences. The course includes differential equations, discrete, and cellular automata approaches (among others) to modeling questions in the life sciences, as well as a variety of biological topics. The course focuses on model set-up and revision for these different scenarios and approaches as well as contemporary science approaches. Changes in student ranking of biology and math as well as student feedback are included. A disassembly line is an effective disassembly system to recover end-of-life products. In real life, as end-of-life products are subject to varying degrees of wear and tear, task failure may occur in the disassembly process. In this paper, the task failure risks are considered, and an expected profit-based stochastic disassembly line balancing problem is studied. First, a mathematical model is presented to maximise the expected recovering profit with task failures. Then, a hybrid metaheuristic approach is developed to efficiently solve the proposed model, which is integrated with a variable neighbourhood descent method and an artificial bee colony algorithm. Finally, the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed algorithm are verified by three cases, and experiment results show that the solution performance of the proposed approach is superior to the other three existing methods. Biogas has garnered increasing interest as a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels. However, due to the complexity of generating biogas, it is crucial to adopt adequate methodologies that aid planning, building, and running operations. Mathematical models have proven to be useful for assisting in the production of biogas, and they are applicable in different stages of the process. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to investigate how mathematical models can contribute to enhancing the efficiency and optimizing the biogas generation process. The Methodi Ordinatio methodology was used to conduct a systematic review of the literature. The VOSviewer software and the bibliometrix package in R were used to generate visual maps. The results revealed that mixed integer linear programming (MILP) models are the most common, accounting for 27% of the studies, followed by simulation models (SIM) with 14%, and hybrid models (HYB) and nonlinear programming models (NLP) in equal proportions, both at 13%. These models are useful for predicting and simulating biogas production. The analysis also revealed a significant trend toward integrating biogas production with the agricultural sector. Continuous advancements and applications of mathematical models are expected to increasingly facilitate biogas generation, thereby propelling global energy usage toward a sustainable energy source. Groupwork is a core method of social work intervention, yet in our experience, social work students and early graduates rarely embrace the idea of facilitating groups, nor foresee that as a role they would like to fill. Through our years of experience in practising and teaching groupwork, we have learned that one of the reasons for this reluctance is the fear of conflict. This paper focuses on our journey of understanding the role of conflict in groups viewed through the lens of Tuckman's 5 stages of groupwork. Through a series of examples from practice, we provide readers with strategies we have used for managing conflict in a groupwork practice setting. The aim of this paper is to provide social work educators, students and graduates with an understanding of why conflict occurs in groups and to provide a toolbox of strategies to respond to conflict. The multi-objective optimisation of high-speed rail profile with small radius curve is studied in the paper. A multi-objective mathematical model for rail profile optimisation of high-speed railway is established. The CN60 rail profile is parameterised into a series of generalised functions of design variables. In order to guarantee the smoothness of the rail profile and meet the maximum grinding depth of rail in China, the constraints are employed. The wheel-rail vertical clearance and equivalent conicity of wheelset are taken as objective functions, and a rail wear prediction programme is compiled. Contact line method is employed to complete the detection algorithm of wheel-rail contact points. Finally, NSGA-II Algorithm is adopted to solve the Pareto-optimal front of the optimisation model. A set of solutions are retrieved from the Pareto optimal front solution as the optimised profile. The optimised rail profile and the original rail profile are matched with the LMA wheel profile (a certain worn type of wheel profiles for EMU in China) respectively. It is testified that the rail profile could effectively reduce the rail wear and improve curving performance. Assistive Technology (AT) devices provide essential means of mobility, employment, communication, social engagement for older adults and people with different disabilities, if prescribed correctly to match users' needs and goals. Regardless of the setting or location, a successful AT service delivery model includes the multidisciplinary collaboration of the people with disabilities and the specialists who have knowledge and expertise in the design and application of AT. In Saudi Arabia, unfortunately, the availability of AT devices is mainly limited to basic mobility and daily living aids such as wheelchairs and seating systems, prosthetics and orthotics, communication devices, low-vision devices, and adapted transportation equipment. The aim of this perspective is to provide clinicians and healthcare professionals in Saudi Arabia with a model for the optimisation of the provision of AT devices decision making regarding AT devices for people with disabilities by adhering to a user-centered team approach throughout the service delivery process The policy, human, activity, assistance, technology, and environment (PHAATE) model is used as a conceptual framework and guideline for this paper. The PHAATE components could serve as a guideline for a wide range of stakeholders in Saudi Arabia (e.g., researchers, product developers, practitioners, clinicians, third-party reimbursement entities, consumers, and educators) when developing service delivery systems. Despite the support and funding resources of AT devices by the Saudi government, there is still the needs to increase awareness and knowledge about AT application and services, as well as optimal service delivery models of AT devices. In 1933, Ragnar Frisch introduced a distinction between microdynamics and macrodynamics. His claim that he proposed the first macrodynamic analysis and that microdynamic schemes were limited to single markets or individual behaviours influenced the subsequent development of economic models. But the division was above all between tools: maximisation at the individual level, and dynamic analysis at the aggregate level. What was at stake was the question of economic rationality and whether it could be extended to an aggregate system. This paper proposes a novel global scheduling approach for cycle time control strategy in large complex manufacturing systems with multiple workcentres, such as semiconductor manufacturing systems. The interaction between workcentres is taken into account by using global information such as release quantities, the Work-In-Process (WIP), cycle time targets and machine capacities. Local scheduling decisions in workcentres are steered by production targets, i.e. quantities of products to complete in each operation and each period on a scheduling horizon. These global production targets are determined by a mathematical model (global scheduling model), which optimises the satisfaction of cycle time targets. One of the major innovations of the proposed model is that it relies on the temporal trace of the WIP. The mathematical model is coupled with a generic multi-method simulation model for evaluation purpose. Road familiarity is an important factor affecting drivers' visual features. Analyzing the quantitative correlation between drivers' road familiarity and visual features in complex environment is of great help to improve driving safety. However, there are few relevant studies. This paper takes urban plane intersection as the environmental object to explore the correlation between drivers' glance behavior and road familiarity, and conducts research on the quantitative evaluation model of road familiarity based on this correlation. First, a real vehicle experiment was carried out to record the eye movement data of 24 drivers with different road familiarity. The driver's visual field plane was divided into 10 areas of interest (AOIs) based on the driver's perspective. Three measures, including average glance duration, number of glances, and fixation transition probabilities between AOIs at urban plane intersections, were extracted. Finally, based on the experimental results, the driver road familiarity evaluation model was constructed using the factor analysis method. There are significant differences between unfamiliar and familiar drivers regarding the average glance duration toward the forward (FW) area, the left window (LW) area, the left rearview mirror (LVM) area and the left forward (LF) area, the number of glances toward the other (OT) area, and the fixation transition probabilities of LW→RF (right forward), LF→LF, LF→FW, FW→LW, FW→FW, FW→RVM (right rearview mirror). The comprehensive evaluation results show that the accuracy rate of the driver road familiarity evaluation model reached 83%. This paper revealed that there is a strong correlation between drivers' road familiarity and drivers' glance behavior. Based on this correlation, we can include road familiarity as a part of drivers' working status and establish a high accuracy evaluation model of driver road familiarity. The conclusion of this paper can provide some reference for the humanized design and improvement of advanced driving assistance system, which is of great significance for reducing the driving workload of drivers and improving the driving safety. In this paper, we consider the Cumulative Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CCVRP), which is used to model many real-world applications, especially in the area of supplying humanitarian aid after a natural disaster. Interestingly, in this study, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) so-called drones are used to assist the trucks in delivering parcels to customers. Each of them travels to different locations to perform specified tasks and meet periodically with the vehicle from which it takes off to swap its battery. In this paper, a mathematical model is formulated which is then tested with small-sized problems using CPLEX software. Due to the difficulty of solving large instances to optimality, we propose a heuristic algorithm based on a well-established type of cluster-first, route-second approach. Then, it is enhanced by some proposed properties. Hereafter, we develop a minimum spanning tree based-lower bound. Finally, extensive computational experiments are carried out by using instances from the literature. Terrain feature points, such as peaks, pits, and saddles, represent the macro-structure of the landform. Conventional techniques for extracting these points from digital elevation models (DEMs) often grapple with issues of inaccuracy, omission and redundancy, largely due to the problematic necessity of setting threshold values. This paper proposes an innovative approach for the automatic detection of terrain feature points based on the topological relationships of contours and the inherent constraints of terrain shape characteristics. The study provides a robust mathematical model of terrain feature points and an effective algorithm for their extraction. Comparing with manually reference data, the accuracy metrics including completeness, correctness, and quality of our extracted results demonstrate a high level, significantly surpassing those obtained through existing algorithms. This proposed approach not only avoids the spurious feature points produced by the local window method, but also prevents the omission of valid points and the creation of redundant ones. Music therapy research has traditionally been somewhat fragmented into different research traditions. This paper argues that the burgeoning field of enactivism could provide important theoretical integration to music therapy research and practice. Stressing the interdependence of mind, brain, body, and environment, enactivism has provided theoretical integration in several fields, not least music cognition and psychiatry. This paper is the first focused theoretical contribution that applies relevant enactivist theory to music therapy. After a reflection on theoretical developments in music therapy, we provide a general introduction to enactivism and its multiple origins in human and biological sciences and present its existing contributions to understanding mental illness and musicking. We also make a specific contribution, through discussion of an example of free music improvisation. Providing an enactive analysis of the sense of agency in this practice, we argue that music improvisation, especially in therapy, might work particularly well for people with severe mental illness because improvisation strengthens and flexes the disturbed sense of agency that often characterizes such mental health challenges. Finally, we discuss strengths and weaknesses of the proposed framework and suggest future potential studies to better evaluate the potential contribution of enactivism to the research and practice of music therapy.
