Typical Pulmonary Carcinoid (TPC) is defined by its slow growth, frequently necessitating surgical intervention. Despite this, the long-term outcomes following tumor resection are not well understood. This study examined the factors impacting Overall Survival (OS) in patients with TPC, leveraging data from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database spanning from 2000 to 2018. We employed Lasso-Cox analysis to identify prognostic features and developed various models using Random Forest, XGBoost, and Cox regression algorithms. Subsequently, we assessed model performance using metrics such as Area Under the Curve (AUC), calibration plot, Brier score, and Decision Curve Analysis (DCA). Among the 2687 patients, we identified five clinical features significantly affecting OS. Notably, the Random Forest model exhibited strong performance, achieving 5- and 7-year AUC values of 0.744/0.757 in the training set and 0.715/0.740 in the validation set, respectively, outperforming other models. Additionally, we developed a web-based platform aimed at facilitating easy access to the model. This paper studies the combination of random forest (RF) and classical statistical modeling. We propose two algorithms: RF cluster + ridge and RF regression + ridge, in which the RF reduces overfitting and has a good anti-noise ability. The ridge regression can effectively handle the correlated data by the ridge penalty. To test the performance of the proposed techniques, we model and track the S&P 500 index. Index tracking aims to replicate the returns of an index fund and is very popular in finance. We compare the performance of the proposed methods with those of several existing methods. The portfolio obtained by each technique is quantified using the tracking error. We find that this combination always has higher accuracy. Empirical results show that the proposed methods are qualified for index funds. This paper explores the different insider employee-led cyber frauds (IECF) based on the recent large-scale fraud events of prominent Indian banking institutions. Examining the different types of fraud and appropriate control measures will protect the banking industry from fraudsters. In this study, we identify and classify Cyber Fraud (CF), map the severity of the fraud on a scale of priority, test the mitigation effectiveness, and propose optimal mitigation measures. The identification and classification of CF losses were based on a literature review and focus group discussions with risk and vigilance officers and cyber cell experts. The CF was analyzed using secondary data. We predicted and prioritized CF based on machine learning-derived Random Forest (RF). An efficient fraud mitigation model was developed based on an offender-victim-centric approach. Mitigation is advised both before and after fraud occurs. Through the findings of this research, banks and fraud investigators can prevent CF by detecting it quickly and controlling it on time. This study proposes a structured, sustainable CF mitigation plan that protects banks, employees, regulators, customers, and the economy, thus saving time, resources, and money. Using prosthetic devices requires a substantial cognitive workload. This study investigated classification models for assessing cognitive workload in electromyography (EMG)-based prosthetic devices with various types of input features including eye-tracking measures, task performance, and cognitive performance model (CPM) outcomes. Features selection algorithm, hyperparameter tuning with grid search, and k-fold cross-validation were applied to select the most important features and find the optimal models. Classification accuracy, the area under the receiver operation characteristic curve (AUC), precision, recall, and F1 scores were calculated to compare the models' performance. The findings suggested that task performance measures, pupillometry data, and CPM outcomes, combined with the naïve bayes (NB) and random forest (RF) algorithms, are most promising for classifying cognitive workload. The proposed algorithms can help manufacturers/clinicians predict the cognitive workload of future EMG-based prosthetic devices in early design phases. This paper aims to build a machine learning and a neural network model to detect the probability of money laundering in banks. The paper's data came from a simulation of actual transactions flagged for money laundering in Middle Eastern banks. The main findings highlight that criminal networks mainly use the integration stage to integrate money into the financial system. Fraudsters prefer to launder funds in the early hours, morning followed by the business day's afternoon time intervals. High-performance and low-cost emission characteristic prediction is very crucial for diesel engine design optimization and emission aftertreatment control and diagnosis. In this paper, a novel hybrid model that combines Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Gated Recurrent Unit Network (GRU) was proposed to predict the emission characteristic from diesel engines, encompassing CO, THC, CO2, NOx, exhaust temperature and exhaust pressure. Nine operating parameters from WHTC and WHSC cycles, including speed, torque, intake pressure, intake flow, intake temperature, oil pressure, fuel rate, oil temperature, water temperature, were considered as inputs. Firstly, the importance of each variable is evaluated by Random Forests algorithm to determine the optimal inputs for each emission characteristic parameter and reduce redundancy. Then the effect of different hyperparameters on the model performance was discussed in detail and PSO algorithm was used to obtain the optimal hyperparameters. Finally, the CNN-GRU hybrid model was assessed for its generalization and compared with ANN, LSTM and GRU models. The result demonstrates that the CNN-GRU hybrid model with PSO optimization has excellent prediction performance in either the training dataset or the validation dataset. The average value of R² is 0.993 in the training dataset and 0.985 on the validation dataset. In the test dataset, the average R² is 0.961, showing a minor decrease of 3.19% and 2.47% compared to the training and validation dataset, respectively. This indicates that the CNN-GRU hybrid model has strong generalization ability. Compared with other algorithms in the test dataset, the CNN-GRU hybrid model exhibits better comprehensive performance, with the average R² value exceeding that of ANN, LSTM and only GRU by 5.96%, 2.69% and 3.23%, respectively. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder, often associated with social and communication challenges and whose prevalence has increased significantly over the past two decades. The variety of different manifestations of ASD makes the condition difficult to diagnose, especially in the case of highly independent adults. A large body of work is dedicated to developing new and improved diagnostic techniques, emphasising approaches that rely on objective markers. One such paradigm is investigating eye-tracking data as a promising and objective method to capture attention-related differences between people with and without autism. This study builds upon prior work in this area that focussed on developing a machine-learning classifier trained on gaze data from web-related tasks to detect ASD in adults. Using the same data, we show that a new data pre-processing approach, combined with an exploration of the performance of different classification algorithms, leads to an increased classification accuracy compared to prior work. The proposed approach to data pre-processing is stimulus-independent, suggesting that the improvements in performance shown in these experiments can potentially generalise over other studies that use eye-tracking data for predictive purposes. The growing use of digitized mental health applications requires new reliable early screening tools to identify user suicide risk. We used a lexicon-based random forest machine learning algorithm to predict suicide ideation scores from 714 online community text posts from December 2019 to April 2020. We validated predicted scores against expert-rated suicide ideation scores. The algorithm-predicted scores offered high validity and a low error rate and correctly identified 95% of expert-rated high-risk suicide ideation posts. Feasibility assessment of endoscopic ear surgery (EES) relies solely on subjective evaluation by surgeons. Extracting radiomic features from preoperative CT images of the external auditory canal, we aim to classify EES patients into easy and difficult groups and improve accuracy in determining surgery feasibility. 85 patients' external auditory canal CT scans were collected and 139 radiomic features were extracted using PyRadiomics. The most relevant features were selected and three machine learning algorithms (logistic regression, support vector machine, and random forest) were compared using K-fold cross-validation (k = 5) to predict surgical feasibility. The best-performing machine learning model, the support vector machine (SVM), was selected to predict the difficulty of EES. The proposed model achieved a high accuracy of 86.5%, and F1 score of 84.6%. The area under the ROC curve was 0.93, indicating good discriminatory power. The proposed machine learning model provides a reliable and accurate method for classifying patients undergoing otologic surgery based on preoperative imaging data. Approximately one-third of the veteran population suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, a mental illness that is often co-morbid with social anxiety disorder. Student veterans are especially vulnerable as they struggle to adapt to a new, less structured lifestyle with few peers who understand their difficulties. To support mental health experts in the treatment of social anxiety disorder, this study utilized machine learning to detect anxiety in text transcribed from interviews with patients and applied topic modeling to highlight common stress factors for student veterans. We approach our anxiety detection task by exploring both deep learning and traditional machine learning strategies such as transformers, transfer learning, and support vector classifiers. Our models provide a tool to support psychologists and social workers in treating social anxiety. With the more and more amelioration of our quality of life, our needs for clothing have altered from having clothes to wearing good-looking, among which the wrinkle resistance of clothing fabric owns a giant effect on the beauty of clothing. Nowadays, artificial subjective evaluation is mainly used to evaluate the wrinkle grade of garment fabrics in the textile industry. This evaluation method owns the shortcoming of poor accuracy, being time-consuming and poor objectivity. For solving this problem, it is very important to put forward an objective evaluation model of fabric wrinkle grade. In this paper, we proposed a fabric wrinkle objective evaluation model with the optimized random vector functional link. The model applies DarkNet19 deep neural network to abstract the high-order visual features of the wrinkled surface image of the fabric, uses the improved artificial hummingbird optimization algorithm to ameliorate the import bias and weight of the random vector function link’s hidden layer, and uses L2;1 norm regularization computes output weights for random vector function links. Endometrial cancer (EC) is becoming more common worldwide, primarily due to an increase in life expectancy and obesity. As several modifiable factors may affect EC incidence and progression, we aimed to elucidate how dietary habits and daily routines influence recurrence and survival among women with EC, using a Random Survival Forest (RSF) approach. 481 women who previously underwent hysterectomy due to EC completed two extensive questionnaires on dietary habits and daily routines, and we used RSF to identify risky or protective variables. Among the 186 variables considered, consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages and fried potatoes increased the risk of EC recurrence and death, while physical activity decreased the risk of death. Land-subsidence (LS) is a common geo-hazard in many regions of the world. The overexploitation of subsurface and ground water, followed by collapse of underground cavities, is one of the mechanisms that cause LS. Optimal prediction of LS is difficult due to limitations in monitoring, surveying and information about the mechanism and process of LS. Therefore, LS susceptibility mapping (LSSM) is crucial to prevent and reduce the economic damage of natural and manmade catastrophes. This study in the Isfahan Province, Iran, aimed to map LS susceptibility using a hybrid model of adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system–genetic algorithm (ANFIS–GA) and three stand-alone machine-learning (ML) models: support vector machine, maximum entropy and ANFIS. In total, 155 LS historical points were collected, and 12 LS conditioning factors (LSCFs) were compiled for each site. These factors were elevation, slope, aspect, topographic wetness index, plan curvature, distance to stream, drainage density, groundwater withdrawal, lithology, distance to fault, normalized difference vegetation index and land use and land cover. These data were input into the models in five training-to-validation sample ratios, designated D1 (90:10), D2 (80:20), D3 (70:30), D4 (60:40) and D5 (50:50). The importance of these variables to the occurrence of LS was calculated using a random forest algorithm. Algorithm performance was evaluated through receiver operating characteristicarea under the curve analysis and the results show ANFIS–GA to be the optimal model, with average training and validation AUC values of 0.9644 and 0.9416, respectively. The results demonstrate that LSSMs can be effectively prepared to support decision makers in land use planning and allocation through the development of suitable management strategies. A stroke is a medical disorder in which blood arteries in the brain rupture, causing brain damage. Symptoms may appear when the brain's blood supply and other nutrients are cut off. According to the World Health Organization, Stroke is the leading cause of death and disability globally. Early recognition of the multiple warning signs of a stroke helps reduce the severity of the stroke. The paper presents a modified version of the Genetic Folding algorithm to predict stroke based on symptoms. Considerable Machine Learning models, including Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, Random Forest, Naïve Bayes, Support Vector Machine, and the proposed Minimal Genetic Folding, were compared to forecast the probability of having a stroke in the brain using a variety of physiological characteristics. The proposed minimal Genetic Folding approach has been developed using the open-access Stroke Prediction dataset using minimal kernel operators. The datasets generated and/or analyzed during the current study are available in the Kaggle repository. With an accuracy of 83.2%, the proposed minimal Genetic Folding approach outperformed Logistic Regression by 4.2%, Naïve Bayes by 1.2%, Decision Tree by 17.2%, and Support Vector Machine by 83.2%. The area under the curve of the proposed model is much more significant than earlier research by 7%, demonstrating that this model is more dependable and was the top-performing algorithm. Smartphones with embedded Global Positioning System (GPS) technology provide an opportunity to passively collect individuals' travel trajectory data, which can be utilized to identify critical aspects of travel behavior such as transport modes. This paper presents a mode detection algorithm developed to infer modes from smartphone GPS data. The algorithm is designed to classify single-mode trip segments into one of six modes. There are 31 features selected for the algorithm, which are divided into two categories: general features and transit-specific features. General features are needed to classify all available modes. Transit-specific features representing proximity to the nearest transit lines enhance the classification of the three transit modes. Four tree-based ensemble learning models are evaluated: Random Forest (RF), Gradient Boosting Decision Tree (GBDT), eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), and Light Gradient Boosting Machine (LightGBM). Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a highly heterogeneous set of neurodevelopmental disorders with the global prevalence estimates of 2.20%, according to DSM5 criteria. With the advancements of technology and availability of huge amount of data, assistive tools for diagnosis of ASD are being developed using machine learning techniques. The present study examines the possibility of automating the Autism diagnostic tool using various machine learning techniques on a dataset of 701 samples that contains 10 fields from AQ-10-Adult and 10 from individual characteristics. It takes two scenarios into consideration. First one is ideal case, where there are no missing values in the test cases. In this case Artificial Neural Network (ANN), Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Random Forest (RF) classifiers are trained and tested on the pre-processed dataset. To reduce computational complexity Recursive Feature Elimination (RFE) based feature selection algorithm is applied. To deal with the real-world data, in the second case missing values are introduced in the test dataset for the fields' 'age', 'gender', 'jaundice', 'autism', 'used_app_before' and their three combinations. Support Vector Machine, Random Forest, Decision Tree and Logistic Regression based RFE algorithm is introduced to handle this scenario. Credit card fraud is one of the biggest cybercrimes faced by users. Intelligent machine learning based fraudulent transaction detection systems are very effective in real-world scenarios. However, while designing these systems, machine learning approaches suffer from the problem of imbalanced data, i.e. imbalanced class distribution. Therefore, balancing the dataset becomes an imperative sub-task. Investigation of state-of-the-art approaches reveals that there is a need for a systematic study of class imbalance handling strategies to design an intelligent and capable system to detect the fraudulent transaction. This work aims to provide a comparative study of different class imbalance handling methods. To compare the effectiveness and efficiency of different class imbalance approaches in conjunction with state-of-the-art classification approaches, we have performed an extensive experimental study. Regression trees and their ensemble methods are popular methods for nonparametric regression: they combine strong predictive performance with interpretable estimators. To improve their utility for locally smooth response surfaces, we study regression trees and random forests with linear aggregation functions. We introduce a new algorithm that finds the best axis-aligned split to fit linear aggregation functions on the corresponding nodes, and we offer a quasilinear time implementation. We demonstrate the algorithm's favorable performance on real-world benchmarks and in an extensive simulation study, and we demonstrate its improved interpretability using a large get-out-the-vote experiment. The study is the first attempt to assess the role of climatic predictors in the rise of COVID-19 intensity in the Russian climatic region. The study used the Random Forest algorithm to understand the underlying associations and monthly scenarios. The results show that temperature seasonality (29.2 ± 0.9%) has the highest contribution for COVID-19 transmission in the humid continental region. In comparison, the diurnal temperature range (26.8 ± 0.4%) and temperature seasonality (14.6 ± 0.8%) had the highest impacts in the sub-arctic region. Our results also show that September and October have favorable climatic conditions for the COVID-19 spread in the sub-arctic and humid continental regions, respectively. From June to August, the high favorable zone for the spread of the disease will shift towards the sub-arctic region from the humid continental region. The increasing and widespread usage of social media enables the investigation of public preference using the web as a device. Public sentiment as expressed in 44,319 massive open online course (MOOCs) related microblogs from January to December 2017 was examined on Sina Weibo (the Chinese equivalent of Twitter) to obtain broad insight into how MOOCs are viewed by the public in the Chinese educational landscape. Despite the unstable upward trend of public interest in MOOCs over the past 12 months, the public opinion on MOOCs was largely positive. Content and sentiment analyses were conducted to facilitate a better understanding of what is communicated on social media. A general model of public opinions of MOOCs in China has been developed based on the findings. Individuals were classified into a threefold typology based on the sources and purposes of how this recent form of distance education was perceived. Based on the seven themes, the public views towards MOOCs were differentiated among 'promoters', 'commenters' and 'experiencers'.Implications of the findings were also discussed. To assess the accuracy and reliability of a machine learning (ML) algorithm for predicting the full audiograms of hearing-impaired children relative to the common approach (CA). Retrospective study There were 206 audiograms included from 206 children with sensorineural hearing loss. Nested cross-validation was used for evaluating the performance of the CA and ML. Six audiogram prediction simulations were performed in which either one or two thresholds across 0.5–4 kHz from complete audiograms in the dataset were labelled. Missing thresholds at the remaining frequencies were then predicted using the CA and ML in each simulation. The accuracy of the ML algorithm was determined by comparing the median average absolute threshold differences between the CA and ML using Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The reliability between runs of the ML was also assessed with Cronbach's alphas. The median average absolute threshold differences in ML (5–8 dBHL) were statistically significantly lower than those in CA (6.25–10 dBHL) in all six simulations (p value < 0.05). The ML algorithm was also found to be reliable to predict the audiograms in all six simulations (α > 0.9). In this study, the capability of Landsat-8 (L8), Sentinel-2 (S2), Sentinel-1 (S1), and their combination was investigated for estimating aboveground biomass (AGB). A pure stand of Fagus Orientalis located in the Hyrcanian forest of Iran was selected as the study area. The performance of a parametric approach, i.e., Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) model and non-parametric approaches, i.e., k-Nearest Neighbor (k-NN), Random Forest (RF), and Support Vector Regression (SVR), were also evaluated for AGB estimations. Our results indicated that among S2 metrics, the FAPAR canopy biophysical index and NDVI index based on the red-edge band (NIR-b8a) have the highest correlation coefficient (r) of 0.420 and 0.417, respectively. The results of AGB estimation showed that a combination of S2 and S1 datasets using the k-NN algorithm had the best accuracy (R2 of 0.57 and rRMSE of 14.68%). The best rRMSE using L8, S2, and S1 datasets was 18.95, 16.99, and 19.17% using k-NN, k-NN, and MLR algorithms, respectively. The combination of L8 with S1 dataset also improved the rRMSE relative to L8 and S1 separately by 0.96 and 1.18%, respectively. In the case of tree species delineation with very high spatial resolution (VHR) images, is desirable that each segment corresponds to one individual tree crown (ITC). However, in order to have a segmentation algorithm that generates segments matching to ITCs, its parameters ought to be properly tuned. Aiming to avoid time-consuming trial-and-error procedures associated with this task, some initiatives for the automatic search of segmentation parameters have been developed, such as metaheuristic methods. The objective of this work was to test the automatic tuning of segmentation parameters of three segmentation algorithms for the delineation of ITCs belonging to a native endangered species in a subtropical forest area, comparing this method with the traditional trial-and-error approach. Two datasets (WorldView-2 and an orthoimage) and three segmentation algorithms (multiresolution, mean-shift and graph-based) were tested. For the automatic approach, a hybrid metaheuristic method was applied to accomplish the automatic search of parameters for the segmentation algorithms, while for the trial-and-error, a visual assessment was conducted for each set of parameters tested. Four supervised metrics were used to assess the quality of the segmentation results for the optimization approach and for the final set of parameters chosen in the trial-and-error approach. Results showed that none of the algorithms, datasets or approaches differ too much. The evaluation metrics values were lower, indicating that the reference ITCs polygons matched with the segmentation results. Despite the similar results, the automatic tuning of segmentation parameters proved to be a feasible alternative to reduce the subjectivity and the human effort in the choice of segmentation parameters as compared to the trial-and error approach. Abstract–In the insurance broker market, commissions received by brokers are closely related to so-called "customer value": the longer a policyholder keeps their contract, the more profit there is for the company and therefore the broker. Hence, predicting the time at which a potential policyholder will surrender their contract is essential to optimize a commercial process and define a prospect scoring. In this article, we propose a weighted random forest model to address this problem. Our model is designed to compensate for the impact of random censoring. We investigate different types of assumptions on the censoring, studying both the cases where it is independent or not from the covariates. We compare our approach with other standard methods which apply in our setting, using simulated and real data analysis. At established integrated converter, accomplish high step up voltage and implement outputs of DC as well as AC to greater reliability, switching topology is utilised. The established hybrid strategy is joint execution of spotted hyena optimiser (SHO) and random forest algorithm (RFA), therefore, it called as SHORFA method. In proposed strategy, SHO is utilised to optimise combination of the controller parameters based on the voltage variation. In light of the optimal datasets, the RFA gives the optimal switching pulses of the driver. The RFA learning process is improved to utilise SHO algorithm at aspect of objective function as minimal error. By the established converter design, voltage stress over diodes as well as power switch is lessened. Additionally, the proposed converter directs the output voltage, power factor correction, reduces the voltage spikes over the switches and restrains the switching losses. Cash is a very important property of an enterprise, but offers the lowest return of any asset. Nevertheless, firms do not invest all assets into higher-paying assets and hold part of their cash, especially firms in the high-tech electronics industry. Firms in this industry hold considerable amounts of cash because they have high expenses and recovery is uncertain, potentially leaving the firm without sufficient funds. It is therefore necessary to prepare a certain amount of cash. This study uses a decision tree algorithm including J48, LMT, Random Forest, REP Tree, Simple CART, Extra Tree, and BF Tree to measure the performance of predictions. This study has three experiments: (1) testing the predictive ability of the decision tree algorithm, (2) testing the decision tree algorithm with performance improvements, and (3) determining the best decision tree forecast rate comparison using the logistic regression model. Nowadays, machine learning (ML) algorithms are receiving massive attention in most of the engineering application since it has capability in complex systems modeling using historical data. Estimation of power for CMOS VLSI circuit using various circuit attributes is proposed using passive machine learning-based technique. The proposed method uses supervised learning method, which provides a fast and accurate estimation of power without affecting the accuracy of the system. Power estimation using random forest algorithm is relatively new. Accurate estimation of power of CMOS VLSI circuits is estimated by using random forest model which is optimized and tuned by using multiobjective NSGA-II algorithm. It is inferred from the experimental results testing error varies from 1.4% to 6.8% and in terms of and Mean Square Error is 1.46e-06 in random forest method when compared to BPNN. Statistical estimation like coefficient of determination (R) and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) are done and it is proven that random Forest is best choice for power estimation of CMOS VLSI circuits with high coefficient of determination of 0.99938, and low RMSE of 0.000116. In experimental designs, it is usually assumed that the data follow normal distributions and the models have linear structures. In practice, experimenters may encounter different types of responses and be uncertain about model structures. If this is the case, traditional methods, such as the ANOVA and regression, are not suitable for data analysis and model selection. We introduce the random forest analysis, which is a powerful machine learning method capable of analyzing numerical and categorical data with complicated model structures. To perform model selection and factor identification with the random forest method, we propose a forward stepwise algorithm and develop Python and R codes based on minimizing the OOB error. Six examples including simulation and case studies are provided. We compare the performance of the proposed method and some frequently used analysis methods. Results show that the forward stepwise random forest analysis, in general, has a high power for identifying active factors and selects models that have high prediction accuracy. Multimodal sentiment analysis becomes an emerging research topic due to the rapid growth of modality and diversity of social data. The primary objective of this research paper is to develop an effective feature selection algorithm to determine the optimal features for further improving the performance of multimodal sentiment analysis. Initially, the data were collected from YouTube dataset. Then, feature extraction was carried out on the collected data utilizing Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCCs), linear predictive coefficient, spectral centroid, spectral flux, Local Binary Pattern (LBP), Histogram of Oriented Gradient (HOG), Latent Semantic Analysis (LSA), and Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) to extract the feature values from the collected data. After feature extraction, reliefF feature selection algorithm was used for choosing the optimal features. At last, random forest classifier was used for classifying the sentiments of speakers such as neutral, positive, and negative class. Recently, several variants of random forest have been derived for the classification problems, among which the rotation forest is an important type to improve the model's accuracy. In this article, we proposed a simple and effective variation of rotation forest, which the canonical partial least squares algorithm is employed to rotate the variable space of tree and then all the trees are combined being a "forest." MODIS-based NDVI time series (2000–2016) was applied to monitor sub-annual forest disturbance in the Mexican state of Michoacán, with an algorithm that decomposes the time-series data into a harmonic function and a trend. To detect change, a moving sum of residuals between the observed and predicted NDVI values was compared with that from the reference period. Magnitude of change was computed by subtracting the predicted NDVI from the observed one. By comparing the detected changes with reference data through visual interpretation, a threshold of |0.05| was established as the magnitude of change for forest disturbance detection. The method detected more forest gain than loss for 2013–2016, a result which is supported by recent findings from the national forest inventory. Forest loss decreases yearly for 2013–2016, and forest gain peaks at 2014 and 2015. We verified the findings with data from the global forest cover change project. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
