Abstract

A recent study from Peking University explores the combination of home-grown school feeding (HGSF) and short food supply chain (SFSC) in south central China. The study finds that direct purchase from smallholder farmers through HGSF-SFSC is linked to higher income, production, and dietary diversity. However, the study also identifies constraints of the current HGSF-SFSC model. Abstract

A recent study conducted by the China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co. Ltd. explores the effectiveness of a combined active and passive safety system in protecting pedestrians from head injuries in vehicle collisions. The study constructs a "vehicle-pedestrian" interaction system and analyzes the impact of the exterior airbag and braking control systems on pedestrian head injury. The results show that the exterior airbag can effectively protect the pedestrian's head and reduce the head injury criterion (HIC).
