The paper analyzes the issues and challenges of the current information and communication process of private sector healthcare institutions in Ethiopia. Both qualitative and quantitative research approaches were used to collect and analyze data using surveys, interviews, observation and related secondary source documents. The analysis indicated the research gaps in the current information and communication process models and the clear direction toward a solution. This study employed a mixed research design (both exploratory and applied research) and used Google Forms for a survey and interview-based fact-finding and analysis, Microsoft Visio for model designing, and Protopie for prototyping. As a final contribution, the study designed and validated a cloud-based green information and communication process model for the federated healthcare institutions in developing countries in general and the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Region (SNNPR) of Ethiopia in particular. This model can be used as an important instrument for inter or intra institutional collaboration and communications. Based on the user acceptance and demonstrated validation, the results indicate improvements in energy, efficiency, unified data repository, intra institutional collaboration, information sharing, trusted and ethical information and unified integration and share-ability. The test validated the model and its prototype as a new knowledge contribution to the domain. The selection of a company's capital structure is one of its most important strategic financial decisions. This paper seeks to determine the factors or components influencing the capital structure (CpS) of private banks in Ethiopia. Audited panel data was collected for the period 2005 to 2016 from seven private banks and the National Bank of Ethiopia. The panel data fixed effects estimation model was employed for data analysis, using EViews 8. It was observed that debt made up 85% of the entire capital of Ethiopia's private banks during the study period. The results showed that deposit-to-asset ratio substantially boosted the profitability of banks' core business operations, but net interest margin had a negligible positive impact. There was a statistically significant and favorable relationship between asset size and profitability. Conversely, an increase in loan-to-deposit ratio had a positive correlation with profitability, but a statistically insignificant impact on it. Consequently, banks should consider how best to manage their commitments, adequately mobilize deposits, and improve spread, size, and loans while decisions are made. Rising sensitivity of the loads with respect to power quality has been a consideration for power systems and power quality enhancement systems. The fluctuation of voltage outside the normal working range due to faults may lead to undue interruption of wind turbines. The paper presents 1.5 MW grid connected Adama I Wind Farm in Ethiopia with the objective to capture the optimal power from the wind and ensure voltage source for sensitive load. It deals with effective voltage sag mitigation and harmonic distortion effectively and met IEEE 519-1992 standard under all phaseto- ground fault compensation using Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) to regulate the terminal voltage of the wind farm and safe operation of sensitive load. DVR utilizes a feedforward control-based algorithm to generate Pulse Width Modulator (PWM). The simulation results are carried out by MATLAB-Simulink to verify the operation and effectiveness of DVR during balanced voltage sag and harmonic distortion. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
