Parenting with a physical disability often brings with it a range of challenges. Occupational therapists are well positioned to support parents to address these challenges, yet occupational therapy research and practice around parenting is relatively scarce. This paper addresses the questions: (1) How should occupational therapists support parenting occupations for people with physical disability? (2) How do parents with physical disability experience occupational therapy? An anonymous survey of 62 parents, primarily mothers, with physical disability about their experiences with parenting challenges and occupational therapy was analysed using both quantitative and qualitative techniques. Parents experienced challenges in engaging in a range of parenting tasks with children over a range of age groups. Parents reported that support was often needed and indicated that occupational therapy could assist them directly with specific parenting goals as well as the more usual biomechanical goals that influence parenting. Yet less than half of participants who received occupational therapy services reported that parenting tasks were addressed, and only one‐fifth reported that their goals had been fully met. The data also indicated that the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of occupational therapists with regard to working with parents with disability can be improved. Findings suggest a need to better incorporate parenting occupations in standard occupational therapy training to increase occupational therapists' comfort and competence in working with clients on parenting issues. Purpose. This study aims to elucidate the gender gaps in the strategies for maintaining the social participation and interaction of older adults with people in a local community. Methods. The subjects were 130 older adults aged 65 years or older and independently living in their homes in Saitama, Saitama Prefecture, Japan. The authors conducted an anonymous questionnaire survey on paper and performed multiple regression analysis for men and women separately using the Lubben Social Network Scale-6 (LSNS-6) as the dependent variable. Results. Among the independent variables used for the analysis, those that significantly influenced LSNS-6 in men were social activities related to the daily life satisfaction of the elderly (SARDS). The independent variables that significantly influenced LSNS-6 in women were SARDS, sense of coherence-13 (SOC-13), and the number of family members living with the subjects. Discussion. Informal carers play a vital part to ensuring that individuals in need of care, due to illness or disability, continue to experience a good quality of life. Care provision has been studied extensively, however, little is known about the associations of discontinuing care. This knowledge is important not only to ensure that informal carers are supported, even after caring episode, but also to ensure the care‐recipients are not left without support. By conducting longitudinal analysis of the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA), this paper uniquely starts to unveil the associations of discontinuing the caring role and the patterns of care provision prior to discontinuing. A multivariable binary regression analysis was conducted of the ELSA waves 7 (2015) to 8 (2017), total sample size of N = 6,687. 10.5% (n = 701) respondents were identified as discontinued carers. The dependent variable was care provided in wave 7 but not in wave 8 (a discontinued carer), compared to providing care in both waves (a continuing carer). Socio‐demographic, such as age, gender, marital status, economic activity and health acted and caring patterns, such as intensity and relationship with care‐recipient, acted as independent variables. Results showed nearly 30% of discontinued carers had provided care to a spouse. Nearly a quarter of continuing carers had transitioned between care‐recipients, which raises the question of a potential 'Serial Carer Trajectory'. The regression analysis noted that being divorced or widowed increased the odds of discontinuing care. Providing 20–49 hr of care per week was associated with lower odds of discontinuing the role. This paper suggests that policymakers should take a holistic approach to policies to support carers through all stages of their caring journey, including after discontinuing the caring role. Objective. Quality of life (QoL) is a major concern in breast cancer (BC) patients. Despite efforts, no study has comprehensively addressed determinants of QoL in patients with BC. This study aimed to synthesize evidence on QoL correlations using the meta-analytic structural equation modeling (MASEM) approach. Methods. Our search in PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, and Cochrane databases resulted in 5,238 initial relevant papers, 73 of which were eligible for final analysis with a total of 44,121 patients. We used a two-stage procedure of correlation-based MASEM to examine the relationship between QoL and body mass index (BMI), physical activity (PA), sleep, depression, fatigue, and stress. Results. Final MASEM model suggested that PA (path coefficient = 0.33, 95% CI = −0.0444; 0.6334), fatigue (path coefficient = −0.23, 95% CI = −0.6825; 0.0361), and stress (path coefficient = −0.22, 95% CI = −0.5143; 0.6875) were the most important factors related to QoL in patients with breast cancer. Final model identified variables responsible for 68% of the variation in QoL in BC. Conclusion. QoL is an important outcome in the treatment course of BC. This study seeks to assess the health, social and economic outcomes associated with rough sleeping among women and compare those outcomes with those of (1) men sleeping rough, and (2) women experiencing other forms of homelessness (such as being housed in temporary supported accommodation due to family and domestic violence). The paper analyses survey data using the Vulnerability Index‐Service Prioritization Decision Analysis Tool (VI‐SPDAT) collected from 2735 women experiencing homelessness and 3124 men sleeping rough in Australian cities from 2010 to 2017. We find that women sleeping rough report poorer physical and mental health outcomes and greater problematic drug and or alcohol use relative to both men sleeping rough and women experiencing other types of homelessness (all p < 0.5). Women sleeping rough report significantly higher levels of crisis service utilisation (Β = 17.9, SE = 3.9, p < 0.001) and interactions with police in the previous 6 months (Β = 1.9, SE = 0.3, p < 0.001) than women experiencing homelessness not sleeping rough. Women sleeping rough also report greater healthcare utilisation, and, therefore, healthcare costs, than women experiencing homelessness not sleeping rough and men sleeping rough (all p < 0.05). From a policy perspective, the evidence presented in this paper supports a social determinants approach that moves from addressing symptoms of poor health outcomes associated with homelessness to preventing and ending homelessness with a particular focus on the life trajectories of women. Integrated services and homelessness strategies need to be developed through a gender lens, providing women sleeping rough with tailored permanent housing with wrap‐around supportive housing to address poor health outcomes. The purpose of this paper is to provide a group music therapy intervention for elementary and middle school students with mood disorders through music therapy. To explore the improvement of group music therapy on the dysphoria and state of adolescent patients with mood disorders and to explore the relationship with self-identity. A music activity-based mental health education curriculum was designed based on the results of the current survey, while two homogenous classes were selected as the experimental and control classes; subsequently, the experimental teaching of the music activity-based mental health education curriculum was conducted in the experimental class, and the regular school mental health education curriculum was conducted in the control class, and the pre- and postexperimental scale tests were used to analyze that the curriculum of this study had a positive effect of this study's curriculum on elementary school students' positive emotions analyzed through pre- and postexperimental scale tests. The music activity-based mental health education program had a significant positive effect on the overall level of positive emotions of elementary school students, especially in the positive emotion index, happiness index, mental toughness, goal focus, and interpersonal assistance factor. The positive psychology-oriented music activity-based mental health education curriculum is well suited for elementary and middle school students, especially for upper elementary and middle school students. The music activity-based mental health education curriculum realizes the value of applying positive psychology to mental health education efforts at the elementary school level and flexibly uses a variety of related theories to promote positive emotional experiences for elementary and middle school students. The emotional stress of English translation practitioners is an important research content of psychological organization counseling behavior. Based on the theory of role cognition, this paper adopts the perspective of emotional stress experience, integrates the construction theory and the self-determination theory, and builds an emotional stress relief mechanism for English translation practitioners. On the basis of sorting out psychological capital, emotional commitment, and behavioral variables of organizational practitioners, the article summarizes the concept, dimension, measurement, and causes and effects of variables and solves the problem of quantitative analysis of emotional stress. In the simulation process, the role cognitive variables and local cognitive variables are extracted separately using the dual-branch mitigation mechanism structure to enhance the diversity of the extracted cognitive variables; in the local branch, a loss function of emotional stress overlapping partial penalty mechanism is constructed. This mechanism is used to select a suitable destination sink node for the sensor nodes around the sink node with heavy load to transmit data and effectively relieve the data collection pressure of the original sink node. The experimental results show that by using role cognitive variables and local cognitive variables in the training of classification loss and triple loss, respectively, the mitigation mechanism can mine subtle and significant cognitive variables from the local area and finally integrate role cognitive cognition. The accuracy rate of obtaining 297 questionnaires reached 91.4%, which effectively promoted the mechanism research of emotional stress on the behavior of English translation practitioners. Background. Despite the growing prevalence of Parkinson's disease (PD) and the need to plan for future health service provision, little is known in the Irish context about PD patients' experiences of service access/use. Methods. A cross-sectional survey, with multiple formats, i.e., online, pen-and-paper, and telephone. Data were collected from May 2020 to July 2021 using a multipronged recruitment strategy. The survey was completed by people with PD alone or with the support of a carer/support person. Results. A total of 1402 responses were included. Over half (53%) were male. Approx. 10% were diagnosed with young-onset PD. A minority (6%) reported attending only their GP to manage their PD, with the rest attending a generic or specialist outpatient clinic. Almost 1-in-5 reported it took more than 12 months to obtain the diagnosis. Most were diagnosed by neurologists (84%), followed by GPs (8%) and geriatricians (7%); 1% indicated "other." Of those diagnosed privately, 37% of these patients subsequently switched to the public system for ongoing management. The majority (97%) reported currently taking PD medications, but just 52% believed these were working effectively. Access to the range of health and social care professionals, including PD nurse specialists and clinical therapies is universally poor. Conclusions. A number of significant gaps in PD care are discussed, which require urgent attention. A reconfigured model of PD care is necessary to accommodate the growing need for specialist, integrated care at the population level. The role of formal volunteering in mental health promotion among older adults in China has been widely discussed during recent decades. However, the relationship connecting mental health with cross‐level interaction (i.e., average levels of participation in the community vs. individual participation) is still unclear. This paper examined the effects of cross‐level formal volunteering on depressive symptoms among older adults living in China. Using two waves of the China Longitudinal Aging Social Survey, a sample of 3128 Chinese older adults was surveyed in 2014 and 2016. Depressive symptoms were measured using the abbreviated CES‐D‐9. Individual fixed‐effects ordinary least squares regression models assessed the associations between individual‐ and community‐level formal volunteering and depressive symptoms in urban and rural areas separately. We found that in the urban sample, formal volunteering activities were negatively associated with depressive symptoms at the individual level (β = −0.49, SE = 0.22, p < 0.05). Higher community‐level formal volunteering was positively associated with depressive symptoms (β = 2.82, SE = 1.42, p < 0.05). When adding interactions between individual and community levels, engagement in individual‐level formal volunteering was associated with lower rates of depressive symptoms as community volunteering participation levels increased (β = −3.07, SE = 1.07, p < 0.01). High community‐level volunteering participation was detrimental for non‐volunteers. In rural areas, neither community‐ nor individual‐level formal volunteering was associated with changes in depressive symptoms. The current findings demonstrate formal volunteering may not always benefit mental health for all. The effects may depend on the community context and individual choices. The aim of this study was to describe the prevalence, severity, coping strategies and precipitating factors of food insecurity in university students in a large multi‐campus Australian university during the COVID‐19 lockdown in 2020, in context of providing information to inform institutional support. This was a cross‐sectional analysis which was part of a larger university‐led research project, the Thrive@Home study conducted at Monash University during the COVID‐19 pandemic. The main outcome measures included: Sociodemographic characteristics, PROMIS anxiety, PROMIS depression and the six‐item US Department of Agriculture Household Food Security Survey Module. All variables were reported according to the four levels of food security status (high (H), marginal (M), low (L) and very low (VL)). Chi‐squared tests were used to compare all categorical variables including demographic, mental health and food security status. A multivariable regression was conducted between food security status and mental health variables. Overall, n = 1315 students were included in the analysis. Of which, 5% were classified as having VL food security, 13% L, 14% M and 68% H. As food security worsened the likelihood of being unemployed looking for work, living alone and deteriorating physical health, diet quality and mental health increased. As food security status deteriorated the prevalence of needing to ask family or friends for food, shopping at multiple outlets for discounts, accessing emergency food relief, subsidised meals and financial assistance from organisations increased (p < 0.002). In regression models adjusting for covariates, depression (b (95%CI): VL = 7.2(4.1–10.3), L = 3.7(1.7–5.7), M = 2.0(0.1–3.8)) and anxiety (VL = 7.4(4.5–10.4), L = 3.5(1.5–5.4) and M = 2.0(0.3–3.8)) were positively associated with worsening food security. Food insecurity during COVID‐19 was associated with worsening mental health. Chronic pain is common in older people. However, little is known about how pain is experienced in residents of retirement villages ('villages'), and how pain intensity and associations are experienced in relation to characteristics of residents and village living. We thus aimed to examine pain levels, prevalence and associated factors in village residents. The current paper is a cross‐sectional analysis of baseline data from the 'Older People in Retirement Villages' study in Auckland, New Zealand. Between July 2016 and August 2018, 578 village residents were interviewed face‐to‐face by gerontology nurse specialists, using interRAI Community Health Assessment (CHA) and customised survey. We used a validated pain scale and multivariable logistic regression analyses adjusted for pre‐specified confounders. Residents' median age was 82 years; 420 (73%) were female; 270 (47%) exhibited/reported daily pain, and in 11% this was severe. After controlling for confounders, daily pain was positively associated with self‐reported arthritis (OR = 3.88, 95% CI = 2.57–5.87), poor/fair self‐reported health (OR = 3.19, 95% CI = 1.29–7.93), having no health clinic on‐site (OR = 1.76, 95% CI = 1.10–2.83), and minimal fatigue (diminished energy but completes normal day‐to‐day activities) (OR = 1.77, 95% CI = 1.11–2.81). Similar associations were observed for levels of pain. We conclude that levels of pain and prevalence of daily pain are high in village residents. Self‐reported arthritis, self‐reported poor/fair health, no health clinic on‐site and minimal fatigue are all independently associated with a higher risk of daily pain and with levels of pain. This study suggests potential opportunities for villages to better provide on‐site support to decrease prevalence and severity of pain for their residents, and thus potentially increase wellbeing and quality‐of‐life, though as we cannot prove causality, more research is needed. Various barriers make recruiting a difficult task for researchers, especially when recruiting people living with HIV (PLWH) or conducting longitudinal studies. Effective recruitment is crucial to the validity of studies, and in this regard, social media can come to aid, although researchers usually rely on paid advertisements. This paper describes the free social media strategies used for participant recruitment in two studies carried out with PLWH in Spain and Latin America. Study 1 was a cross‐sectional study on the validation of two stigma scales with a 1‐month retest. Study 2 was a longitudinal study exploring the mental health of newly diagnosed PLWH, with a second assessment after 6 months. Facebook posts, Twitter mentions, and discussion forums were used in both studies. Study 2 also recruited participants through a healthcare centre. In Study 1, 5‐month recruitment yielded a sample of 458 PLWH, averaging 91.6 surveys/month and a 43% retention rate. In study 2, recruitment took 16 months, yielding a final sample of 145 newly diagnosed PLWH, 92 from the healthcare centre (5.75 surveys/month) and 53 from social media (3.31 surveys/month), with 95% and 60% retention rates, respectively. Participants in Study 2 did not differ in sociodemographic characteristics by recruitment method, except for the region of origin and financial difficulty (more diverse origin and greater difficulty emerged in social media participants). Greater psychological distress and lower personal and social resources were also found in social media participants. These data indicate that free social media recruitment is a feasible and effective tool for the recruitment of Spanish‐speaking PLWH, although it is best used in combination with traditional methods for newly diagnosed PLWH and longitudinal studies. Little is known about the reason behind the underutilisation of community pharmacy (CP) for children. This study explored the experiences, barriers and recommendations of parents/carers and young people regarding their use of CP services for children. Two‐stage facilitated, structured, audio‐recorded interviews were conducted at each of four CPs in London, England, between May and November 2019 [1 month in each CP]. Parents/carers or young persons (aged 16–18 years) who visited CP for a child‐related matter were invited to participate. Interviews were transcribed verbatim. Data were analysed both quantitatively and qualitatively, using thematic analysis to identify themes. In total, 249 (58.2% of 428 eligible) customers agreed to participate and completed the two interviews. Out of these, 82.3% (205/249) reported positive experiences with the CP. The general practitioner (GP) was the preferred healthcare provider for minor ailments (44.6%,111/249), while 35.7% (89/249) would choose CP. Eighty‐two participants (33%) visited an Emergency Department in the last 12 months, with 13.4% (11/82) of them visited for cold and cough reasons. Where a child was present with parents/carer (128/249), there was a low level of interaction between children and pharmacists (13.3%, 17/128). Lack of awareness about the CP services provided for children and privacy were among the barriers identified by participants. Advertising of CP services and creating a child‐friendly environment were recommendations suggested by participants. The findings of this paper show that CP remains an underutilised health service for children by parents/carers and young persons. Purpose. A non-invasive way of assessing post-transplant renal graft function has been needed. This study aimed to assess the micro-structural and micro-functional status of graft kidneys by using intravoxel incoherent motion- (IVIM-) diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) to investigate delayed graft function (DGF) immediately after transplantation. Method. A prospective study was conducted on 37 patients, 14 with early graft function (EGF) and 23 with DGF (9 with complication, 14 without) who underwent IVIM-DWI, most often within 1-7 days after kidney transplantation. A total of 37 cases were collected and all the participants have been well-informed and signed their consents. In addition, the study conducted in this paper was approved by the Ethics Committee of Clinical Research, Taichung Veterans General Hospital (IRB number: CE14065). Using biexponential analysis of slow diffusion coefficient ( D slow ), fast diffusion coefficient ( D fast ), and perfusion fraction was performed. The apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) was calculated by use of a monoexponential model. All parameters were measured from three different regions-of-interest (ROI), covering the entire renal parenchyma, cortex, and medulla. Results. D slow , perfusion fraction, and ADC were significantly higher in patients with EGF than DGF (all p values values <0.001). Especially, ADC measured from ROI covering the entire kidney parenchyma had the best cut-off value (1.93μm2/msec) with the highest area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC 0.943) in differentiating EGF from DGF. For analysis of pair-wise differences, only the perfusion fraction values, measured from the ROI covering the renal cortex, were significantly higher in 14 DGF patients with no complications than in the 9 DGF patients with complications, with the best cut-off value of 12.3% and the AUC of 0.844. Conclusion. Noninvasive IVIM-DWI reliably differentiates DGF from EGF after kidney transplantation, and it may aid in identifying posttransplant complications and indications for renal biopsy. Background. The incidence of diabetes is increasing year by year. For elderly diabetic patients, poor blood glucose control and worsening immune function greatly increase the risk of complications, which will seriously affect their quality of life. Purpose. This paper primarily clarifies the influence of information-based continuous care on disease control and treatment compliance of elderly diabetic patients. Methods. From December 2018 to December 2021, 106 elderly diabetic patients were selected, and their clinical data were retrospectively studied. Patients were grouped according to the type of care they received: an observation group (OG) comprising 56 cases receiving information-based continuous care and a control group (CG) including 50 cases treated with routine nursing. The two cohorts of patients were compared regarding disease control, treatment compliance, glucose and lipid metabolism (GLM), and self-management. Results. After analysis, it was found that the disease control and treatment compliance were statistically higher in OG compared with CG. OG also showed significantly reduced fasting blood glucose (FBG), 2-hour postprandial blood glucose (2hPG), total cholesterol (TC), and triglyceride (TG) after nursing that were all lower compared with CG. In terms of self-management, OG outperformed CG in diet, exercise, blood glucose monitoring, and adherence to medical regimens. Conclusions. Information-based continuous care has beneficial effects on disease control and treatment compliance of elderly diabetic patients and can help control blood sugar and optimize patients' self-management level, with high clinical promotion value. Aim: We aim to investigate the interplay between moral distress and moral injury among nurses working in palliative and oncology wards and to assess its impact on nursing leadership. Background: The past 2 years have been particularly challenging for nurses and nursing leaders in Croatia. The coronavirus disease pandemic and the subsequent earthquakes in the country significantly impacted the work of nurses. Moral distress has been well‐known to nursing professionals, but recent studies warn about cofounding it with moral injury and their possible intercorrelation, deserving more attention from an empirical perspective. Methods: We conducted quantitative cross‐sectional research in palliative and oncology wards in 11 Croatian health care facilities on 162 nurses, using a questionnaire and paper/pencil method over 6 months (1 January 2021 to 1 July 2021). The questionnaire consisted of three parts: sociodemographic data, a Measure of moral distress for health care professionals and Moral injury symptoms scale for health care professionals. The research protocol was approved by the Ethics committee of the Catholic University of Croatia under no. 1‐21‐04. Results: The findings of our study demonstrated that the current average levels of moral distress might be characterized as low, but the moral injury symptoms are severe. The results of our study bring interesting novel insights, such as the strong correlation between moral distress and moral injury, but also in terms of nurses' decision to leave or consider leaving their position. The nurses who experience higher levels of moral distress experience severe symptoms of moral injury, while nurses who score higher in moral distress and moral injury have left, considered or consider leaving their positions. Conclusions: This study highlighted the need to pay attention to the emerging phenomenon of moral injury that has been unaddressed and overshadowed by moral distress, their intercorrelation, and the importance of addressing them timely and adequately within health care organizations with their leadership and management. Implications for Nursing Management: These findings provide a significant insight that may assist nursing managers and leaders to act and respond in time to develop various prevention and mitigation measures and help resolve situations leading to moral distress or moral injury. Purpose: The study aims to develop a measurement tool that will determine the innovative leadership levels of nurses. Methods: This methodological paper was conducted with 615 nurses. The content validity, factor analyses, and Cronbach's alpha test were used for psychometric assessment. Findings: As a result of the exploratory factor analysis, the scale consists of 43 items and five subscales. Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the innovative leadership scale (ILS) is a valid model. Practical Implications: There is a need for innovative leading nurses in the healthcare field. Purpose: This paper aims to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the social cyberloafing (SC) scale as an important predictor of the mental health of healthcare employees. Methods: The data for this descriptive cross‐sectional study was obtained from 202 Turkish healthcare employees. We followed Dima's 6‐step protocol for validation. Findings: The one‐dimensional structure of the scale was found to be homogenous (H = 0.54) and reliable (α = 0.87). The CFA demonstrated that the 7‐item and one‐factor construct was a valid instrument to measure the SC (GFI = 0.98, CFI = 0.98, TLI = 0.95, SRMR = 0.03, RMSEA = 0.09). To analyze the factors affecting road accidents involving hazardous materials, the Bayesian network (BN) model was used to fit the accident data. However, considering the possible overfitting phenomenon of the BN model, the model was optimised by combining Pearson's chi-squared test and Granger causality test (PG) methods. First, the data of hazardous materials accidents were preprocessed, and the index system of factors affecting hazardous materials road transport was constructed from five dimensions of "people, vehicles, hazmat, roads, and environment"; second, Pearson's chi-squared test and the Granger causality test were used to screen the factors affecting hazardous materials road transport accidents and to determine the causal relationship between the factors; finally, the BN model was constructed with accident severity and accident processing time as target nodes, and the results were analyzed and validated. The results show that the overall relative error rate of the model is less than 10% and can be used to explore the risk factors of hazardous materials transport accidents; weather, visibility, lighting, intersection type, road condition, road type, driver condition, vehicle type, etc. are all important factors affecting the severity of hazardous materials transport accidents. The incidence of cancer is increasing today, particularly lung and chest cancer. Employing novel methods to detect cancer in its earliest stages and discover painless, noninvasive treatments are urgently needed. The goal of the proposed study is to investigate the value of automated breast volume scanning (ABUS) in conjunction with contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) in properly diagnosing breast cancer in its early stages and the effectiveness of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in treating the disease. For the research study, information on 98 patients who had NAC and surgery in the breast surgery department of the Shaanxi Provincial Cancer Hospital has been gathered. All patients have received four cycles of NAC and underwent conventional ultrasound (HUSS), CEUS, ABUS, and pathological examination. At the same time, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis, single factor, multiple linear regression, and other methods have also been used to analyze the diagnostic efficacy of breast cancer and NAC efficacy evaluation results. The study of this paper is totally based on the data collected from Shaanxi Provincial Cancer Hospital. The statistical and computational analyses are performed on the data collected for drawing inferences. When the findings are compared to the results of the pathological examination, HUSS has demonstrated a significant distinction between benign and malignant diagnoses with a statistical value of P < 0.05.ABUS combined with CEUS has shown no considerable differences in correlation study. Except for negative likelihood ratio, the diagnostic performance indexes of CEUS+ ABUS are substantially higher than HHUS with P < 0.05. ROC curve analysis is also performed which shows that CEUS and ABUS combination has higher precision in the analysis of breast cancer. Purpose. The research paper aims to investigate the value of multichannel functional electrical stimulation (FES) plus early rehabilitation training for hemiplegic patients after stroke attacks and assesses the impact of the combined therapy on walking capacity and daily life activities of patients. Methods. Totally, 100 hemiplegic patients after stroke treated in No. 215 Hospital of Shaanxi Nuclear Industry from March 2019 to July 2020 were recruited and randomized into the control group and study group, with 50 cases in each group. The control group received early rehabilitation training, and the study group received multiple channel FES plus early rehabilitation. The rehabilitation effective rate, the Fugl–Meyer Assessment (FMA), the Berg Balance Scale (BBS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Barthel index (BI), the Quality of Life index (QLI), Mental Status Scale in Nonpsychiatric Settings (MSSNS), Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), Self-rating depression scale (SDS), and the incidence of adverse response were evaluated. Results. The study group patients had higher scores in FMA, BBS, BI, and QLI than the control group. Multiple channel FES plus early rehabilitation adopted in the study group resulted in a higher rehabilitation efficacy and a longer walking duration at 1, 2, and 4 weeks after the treatment. NIHSS score, MSSNS score, SAS score, SDS score, and incidence rate of adverse response in the study group were significantly lower compared to those of the control group. Conclusions. Healthcare professionals' advice on lifestyle behaviours is a key factor in improving a nation's health. Although allied health professionals have been well placed to provide such advice as part of patient care, little is known about the characteristics of allied health practitioners who discuss lifestyle topics with patients. This paper focused upon an overlooked avenue for lifestyle advice regarding an allied health profession – osteopathy. A workforce survey including questions about four lifestyle topics (including diet/nutrition, smoking/drugs/alcohol, physical activity/fitness, and stress management) was distributed to a nationally representative sample of Australian registered osteopaths in 2016. Separate multivariate logistic regression and Poisson regression models were developed to determine the most important predictors of the discussion of lifestyle factors. Amongst the 992 participating osteopaths, 89%, 49%, 38%, and 18% often discussed physical activity/fitness, stress management, diet/nutrition, and smoking/drugs/alcohol with their patients, respectively. Approximately 30% of participating osteopaths discussed at least three lifestyle topics with patients. Varied predictors were identified for discussing each lifestyle topic. Osteopaths who often discuss diet/nutrition in patient management plans were more likely to often discuss smoking/drugs/alcohol (OR = 14.13), physical activity/fitness (OR = 2.71), and/or stress management (OR = 1.69). In conclusion, lifestyle factors are often discussed with patients as part of osteopathy treatments in the Australian healthcare context. As an emerging means of transportation for the intelligent transportation system (ITS) in aviation and aerospace, hypersonic cruise vehicles (HCVs) have received numerous research interests during the past several decades. However, the navigation and positioning strictly limit the progress and application of HCVs due to their special characteristics on dynamics and environments. To improve the stability of navigation in HCVs, a chi-square test-based adaptive federated cubature Kalman filter (CAFCKF) is proposed in this paper. In the proposed approach, the chi-square test is adopted for the estimation of the measurement noise statistics firstly. Subsequently, a new adaptive information fusion factor is designed for the federated filter to adjust the contribution of each subsystem. Finally, the information sharing factor, which is used for the amendment of the state covariance of each subsystem, is refined based on the judging index of the chi-square test accordingly. The functional classification system (FCS) of roads means categorizing roads based on their service characteristics. The two primary considerations in classifying highway and street networks are accessibility and mobility, where by increasing the role of one, the other's role is reduced. In this paper, besides the conventional variables such as geometric design characteristics, parking lots, land use features, and accessibility; the Sydney Coordinated Adaptive Traffic System (SCATS) data following the real-time traffic flow and average speed of vehicles collected by Location-Based Services (LBS) are considered as new variables for estimating the FCS. Linear regression is used to model the importance of the variables. The chi-square test compared the observational and predicted speeds in the five categories of roads in Tehran, the capital of Iran. Results show that on-street parking has the highest impact and the land use variable has the lowest impact on speed that changes the FCS. Moreover, the presented classification was one to two categories compared with the conventional FCS presented in manuals in the case of Tehran's transportation network as a developing city. This paper presents an in-depth analysis and study of the diagnostic effectiveness of EUS-RTE in giant cystic tumours of the oesophagus utilizing cluster analysis. A new form of interval data expression was designed based on the cluster analysis algorithm, as well as a new way of updating the cluster radius and cluster centre. Feature triads are defined, eliminating the need to access all historical data at the time of update. It also prevents the case of overfusion of clusters and outputting only one cluster. If there exist a very low number of clusters, the newly merged clusters are reclustered according to the density clustering method for the internal data objects based on the cluster segmentation so that the data objects in the same cluster have a high similarity as possible. All accumulated electronic files of oesophageal cancer cases were collected and comprehensively organized, and all clinical data of 129 eligible cases with a total of 356 consultations were screened in strict accordance with inclusion and exclusion criteria. A database of oesophageal cancer cases was established using Visual FoxPro software, and frequency distribution, cluster analysis, association rule, and chi-square test were used to focus on mining the association between symptoms, disease mechanisms, prescriptions, and medications. The results were analysed and summarized. Overall, the therapeutic efficacy and safety of the three groups of treatment modalities for gastric mesenchymal tumours were positive, and the preoperative endoscopic treatment modalities should be selected based on the EUS-RTE characteristics of the tumour, the site, and the operator's skill level in a comprehensive manner. Aims: The purpose of this paper was to investigate the relationship between high‐involvement human resource management, autonomy, affective organisational commitment and innovative behaviours of nursing staff who care for elderly clients. Background: Nursing teams are increasingly required to demonstrate innovative behaviours that enhance care quality. Nursing leaders need to create environments where nursing staff have sufficient autonomy and feel a sense of commitment to support these behaviours. The appropriate implementation of these processes and practices may lead to greater involvement. Methods: A cross‐sectional survey‐based research design was employed to explore the experiences of involvement practices, autonomy, affective organisational commitment and innovative behaviours of 567 nursing staff workers from four elderly care organisations in the Netherlands. Results: The results demonstrate that a bundle of high‐involvement practices positively influences innovative behaviour and that affective commitment and autonomy fully mediate this relationship. Conclusions: The study highlights the role of autonomy and commitment as routes towards translating involvement practices into nurses' innovativeness. Implications for Nursing Management: To create an innovative environment, leaders need to create a positive climate by providing nurses with opportunities to enhance their competence, relatedness and autonomy through active involvement. Background: When nurses feel that the learning processes in their organization are fair and just, they are more likely to feel confident about sharing their knowledge, expressing their concerns, and contributing to the learning process. Conversely, suppose employees perceive a lack of organizational justice. In that case, they may be less likely to speak up and share their valuable input due to concerns about unfair treatment or possible negative consequences. Objective: Nurses' silence and organizational learning may have a connection yet to be thoroughly investigated. We are exploring whether organizational justice mediates this relationship by improving nurses' perception of it and reducing silence among them. Methods: A study was conducted in Ardabil, Iran, to analyze the correlation between organizational learning, organizational justice, and organizational silence among 319 healthcare professionals from five hospitals. The study utilized three assessment tools: the organizational learning questionnaire, the organizational justice scale, and the organizational silence scale. The collected data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics, and a structural equation model (SEM) was developed using the bootstrap method in AMOS 24.0 to test the proposed model. Results: Our study found a strong positive relationship between organizational learning and organizational justice and a significant negative correlation between organizational learning and silence. Also, there was a significant negative relationship between organizational justice and silence. SEM showed that organizational learning indirectly affects organizational silence through organizational justice as a mediator, explaining 72.3% of all variance in organizational silence. Conclusion: Our findings indicated that organizational learning is positively associated with justice but negatively associated with silence. When nurses experience organizational justice, they are less likely to remain silent. Encouraging nurses to share their opinions and concerns reduces silence and improves working conditions, morale, and patient care. Dental care accessibility is subject to a dentist's qualification, practice and intention to treat patients, regardless of whether those patients have special healthcare needs (SCN) and should receive treatment in a dental setting. This multicentre study aimed to evaluate the characteristics of patients with SCN, their access to dental care and behaviour towards dental care from their caregiver's perspective. In addition, the perspective of dental care providers who care for patients with SCN and the factors affecting the provision of treatment was also appraised. The Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia served as the site of this cross‐sectional study from 1 February 2020 to 31 January 2022. Caregivers of 272 patients with SCN, regardless of age and gender, were recruited in the study. The caregiver's proforma sought information on the demographic characteristics, type of disability, cooperation, medical history, occupation of the parent and patient's behaviour towards oral hygiene and dental healthcare. The second proforma had the dental care provider's perspective about the common disabilities, factors that affect the decision to provide treatment, difficulties patients face in getting their dental treatment and, from the dentist's experience, recommendations to improve the access to dental care for patients with SCN. Statistical analysis was carried out by using SPSS version 22.0. The demographic features, caregiver's perception about oral healthcare accessibility and dental professional's point of view were presented as frequencies and percentages. Chi‐square test was applied to compare the proportions. The majority of the caregivers were satisfied with the dental service providers (91.9%) for their patients with SCN. The dental care provider's survey results indicated a shortage of dentists (54.7%) in the region and other factors that pose challenges to special care, like the severity of the disability of patients with SCN (50%), family structure (46.7%), treatment cost (35.6%) and transportation (32.8%). Patients with SCN in Saudi Arabia had a high appraisal of access to dental care and were very satisfied with dental treatment results. However, the presence of a dental care provider in the same rehabilitation centre was a major concern. Background. Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is an autoimmune disease characterized by inflammation, progressive vasculopathy, and fibrosis of skin and internal organs. The aim of the study was to evaluate extended inflammatory parameters (EIP) in patients with SSc in comparison to the control group of healthy subjects. Methods. A total of 28 patients with SSc and 29 healthy controls (HCs) were included in the study. The following EIP parameters were analyzed: neutrophil reactive intensity (NEUT‐RI), neutrophil granularity intensity (NEUT‐GI), antibody‐synthesizing lymphocytes (AS‐LYMP), and reactive lymphocytes (RE‐LYMP). Results. Patients with SSc showed significantly higher values of parameters determining neutrophil reactivity and neutrophil granularity when compared to HCs (respectively, 49.16 FI vs. 44.33 FI, p < 0.001, and 152.01 SI vs. 147.51 SI, p < 0.001). Moreover, patients with SSc had higher absolute numbers of RE‐LYMP than HCs (0.69 × 103/µl vs. 0.04 × 103/µl, p < 0.001). Importantly, significant correlations between the RE‐LYMP and either IL‐6 (R = 0.447, p < 0.001) or ESR (R = 0.532, p < 0.001) were found among patients with SSc. Conclusions. Changes in NEUT‐RI, NEUT‐GI, and RE‐LYMP levels positively correlate with inflammation in SSc and, thus, could potentially be used as an additional reliable inflammatory biomarker to assess inflammation in this disease. Family‐focussed practice is an important component of mental health care. In Australia, service users' views about their experience of service are collected using instruments such as the Your Experience of Service (YES) survey. This study examined 10,579 Queensland (Australia) service users' experiences of mental health services during 2019–2021, with a particular focus on their perspectives of how family and carers are involved in their care. The study examined if family‐focussed practice is welcomed by service users and if it is important in terms of predicting recovery‐related outcomes (e.g., hopefulness, managing day‐to‐day life, well‐being, and experience of care) and which demographics (e.g., age, gender, and Indigenous status) and service characteristics (e.g., time in service, duration, year of service, and setting type) are associated with these outcomes and with family member involvement. A substantial majority of service users reported a positive experience of care (very good or excellent), feeling they had opportunities for family involvement and that their opinions about family involvement were respected (usually or always). Chi‐square tests and nonlinear regression models showed that family involvement predicts care outcomes. Specifically, where individuals felt that their perspectives were recognised, their outcomes were consistently rated as more positive. The results also revealed that setting, age group, time in service, and admission status were significantly correlated with all user experience outcome variables and family‐oriented variables. Future research has the potential to further strengthen this understanding of service users' preferred opportunities and opinions about family involvement and how to improve family engagement and better meet the needs of service users and their families. Objective. The number of cancer survivors is increasing, and the high prevalence of frailty not only reduces quality of life but also affects the treatment of cancer patients. This study aimed to identify the prevalence and risk factors of frailty in cancer patients and to construct a nomogram to predict the probability of frailty. Methods. Nine hundred fifty‐eight cancer patients were included in this retrospective study, randomly divided into a development set (n = 680) and a validation set (n = 278). Frailty was assessed using the Tilburg frailty indicator (TFI). Social support, medical coping styles, and psychological distress were assessed by the Social Support Self‐Rating Scale (SSRS), Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire (MCMQ), and distress thermometer (DT), respectively. Results. The prevalence of frailty in cancer patients was 45.93%. Cancer patients who exercised regularly, ate a balanced diet, and actively coped with diseases were less likely to become frail. The risk factors for frailty identified by a multivariate analysis were parenteral nutrition, advanced TNM staging, vegetarian diet, unemployment, psychological distress ≥4, low physical activity, and negative coping styles. These risk factors were used to construct a nomogram, and the C‐index, calibration curve, and decision curve analysis (DCA) were used to assess the performance of the nomogram. The C‐index was 0.762, and the calibration curve showed satisfactory coherence. The net benefit of the nomogram was better between threshold probabilities of 17%–96% in DCA. Conclusion. Special focus needs to be placed on frail cancer patients due to their high prevalence and severe outcomes. Intestinal parasitic infections (IPIs) remain a significant contributor to morbidity and mortality globally, particularly in developing countries such as Ethiopia. Periodic assessments of IPI prevalence are essential prerequisite for effective control measures. Therefore, this cross‐sectional study is aimed at determining the prevalence of gastrointestinal parasitic infections and associated risk factors among schoolchildren at Wonji Shoa Secondary School, East Shoa Zone, Adama district, Oromia region, Ethiopia, between January and June 2022. A simple random stratified sampling technique was employed to select participants. Sociodemographic and risk factor data were collected using a structured questionnaire. Stool samples were examined to identify parasites. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 20. Descriptive statistics, chi‐square tests, and logistic regression were conducted to assess associations between variables and then the strength of the association. A p value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Of the 403 selected students, 330 completed the study that makes 81.89% response success. The overall IPI prevalence was 16.66% (55/330), with a higher prevalence among males (60%, 33/55) than females (40%, 22/55). Five parasite species were identified: two protozoa (Entamoeba histolytica and Giardia lamblia) with a combined prevalence of 9.70% (32/330) and three helminths (Ascaris lumbricoides, Hymenolepis nana, and Taenia spp.) with a combined prevalence of 6.97% (23/330). Cysts were detected in 62.5% of E. histolytica cases (15/24), and eggs were detected in 76.92% of A. lumbricoides cases (10/13). The study revealed a substantial IPI prevalence (16.66%) among the students. This finding underscores the need for effective prevention and control strategies. The predominance of parasitic infections among males is notable requiring further investigation of the factors. The identification of multiple parasite species indicates a complex epidemiological scenario. The increased funding provided for Community Health Worker (CHW) hiring and training as part of the COVID‐19 pandemic response was to increase their impact in alleviating the effects of negative social determinants of health in the lives of the most vulnerable individuals and communities. This enhanced use of CHW in vulnerable populations can also be used to improve access to such populations for applied research to study ways to improve health outcomes for low‐income minority populations. We carried out a feasibility study using the State CHW association as partners to reach CHWs working with low‐income minority population. Three hundred and three (303) clients of CHWs were interviewed on various demographic, health access, and employment information and both univariate and multivariate analyses was used to determine factors associated with being unvaccinated against COVID‐19 and chi‐squared used to determine if employment was associated with having health insurance. About half of the clients self‐identified as Black/African American and half as Hispanic. Two‐thirds were women and 52.1% were unemployed and 55.1% had no health insurance. There was no association between employment status and having health insurance. Majority (71.6%) had received one dose of a type of COVID‐19 vaccine and being younger and being African American were associated with not getting a dose of COVID‐19 vaccine, as well as being unemployed and not having health insurance. Most of the clients came to see the CHW about a Health/Healthcare issue of the five social determinants of health (SDOH). There were 38 different job titles provided by the clients and the job titles were mainly blue collar jobs and jobs in health and personal care. Our results indicate that CHWs reach the most vulnerable population who have limited health access and high unemployment and that CHWs can effectively be used for linkage to low‐income minority population for applied research. Our analyses found that in this low‐income population, being younger, being African American, being unemployed, and not having health insurance are each associated with not getting vaccinated against COVID‐19, and employment is not associated with having health insurance. We have shown that partnership with CHWs to access their clients as research subjects leads to elucidating new information on the population that can be used in addressing public health programming. A major concern with COVID‐19 was the impact it would have on individual health, the routine use of healthcare services, and physical activities, especially for older adults with comorbidities. To address this, we studied the association between these variables for older adults during the pandemic. To explore what policy instruments might be effective in mitigating the negative impacts, we investigated the effects of a shielding notice for those identified as vulnerable by the government and social media given it has been an important source for disseminating information of COVID‐19. We employed a UK sample with 3,807 participants aged ≥50 from an online survey administered during May and June 2020. Based on numbers of comorbidities, we separated the sample into a higher comorbidity group with those in the upper quartile of the sample (n = 829) and a lower comorbidity group with the remainder (n = 2,978). Statistical methods include chi‐squared analyses and cross‐sectional regressions. We found that individuals with higher comorbidities were more likely to have poorer self‐reported health and mental health and to receive a shielding notice from the government compared to those without (p < 0.05). Decreases in physical activities were associated with poorer self‐reported health and the increases were associated with better self‐reported health; on the other hand, the decreases were associated with poorer mental health, but the increases did not link to better mental health. Examination of the effects of policy instruments shows that a shielding notice was positively associated with primary care use. The notice generated greater reliance on telephone/video consultations compared to in‐person consultations, but the impacts were less strong for people with higher comorbidities. Frequent use of social media raised the probability of increasing physical activities and reduced that of decreasing physical activities, implying social media being an effective tool in promoting physical activities during the lockdown and subsequent restrictions. Background: Analysing data on adverse drug reactions (ADRs) in health facilities is an essential step to help develop effective strategies to reduce their incidence. The objective was to analyse spontaneous ADR reports sent to the Ghanaian Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) by two reporting health facilities over 5 years. Methods: Data from duplicate spontaneous ADR reports sent to the FDA (Ghana) from 2014 to 2018 were extracted. The relationship between independent variables such as age, sex, and source of drugs and ADR outcomes was assessed with either chi‐square or a Cramer's V test for association where appropriate. Results: Type A reactions (65.2%) were the most prevalent of the ADRs, followed by Type B (34.1%), with the majority (80%) of patients affected recovering fully. The majority of Type A reactions (54.1%) occurred in the clinic, while the majority of Type B reactions (43.5%) occurred in the hospital. The skin and central nervous system (CNS) were the most affected (70.8%) organs. A higher incidence of CNS and skin‐related ADRs was recorded in patients older than 30 (RR = 1.28 (1.07–1.53)). Also, females were more likely to experience a CNS‐related ADR. The seriousness of the ADR was found to be significantly associated with the (1) type of prescriber, (2) whether the drug was prescribed, or (3) whether the drug regimen prescribed was appropriate. Even though, in 86% of cases, the offending drug was withdrawn within the first 5 days, it exceeded 20 days in about 6% of cases. The record of allergy status in a patient's folder and the source of the drug were significantly associated with the chance that the offending drug was withdrawn. However, recording ADRs did not influence whether the offending drug was stopped. Conclusion: Most of the ADRs experienced by patients could be avoided if the current systems are improved to prevent the rechallenge of offending drugs. Background. Most frontline nurses lack sufficient readiness for effective disaster response. Therefore, designing a disaster management training program (DMTP) to promote nurses' readiness for disaster response is imperative. Aim. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a structured DMTP on nurses' readiness for response to disasters. Methods. A randomized controlled trial was conducted. One hundred eligible nurses, recruited using convenience sampling from a medical centre in northern Taiwan, were randomly assigned to either the experimental (EG, n = 50) or control (CG, n = 50) group. Both groups received regular continuous nursing education. The EG received an extra two‐day (16 h) structured DMTP delivered by transdisciplinary collaborations through multiple teaching strategies (lectures, simulations, problem‐solving lessons, demonstrations, tabletop exercises, discussions, group presentations, and reflections). Readiness for disaster response, consisting of four subscales (emergency response, clinical management, self‐protection, and personal preparation), was assessed at baseline and 12 weeks after the intervention. Generalized estimating equations were used as the primary method of data analyses to evaluate the intervention effects. Results. Ninety‐four nurses (94%) completed the study, and 100 nurses were included in the intention‐to‐treat analysis. While participants in the EG had increased readiness for disaster response after training and at the 12‐week follow‐up, those in the CG exhibited no differences between baseline and 12‐week follow‐up. When the group × time interaction was examined, the EG had a greater increase in readiness for disaster response and its four domains, including emergency response, clinical management, self‐protection, and personal preparedness after 12 weeks, than the CG. Conclusion. A two‐day structured DMTP utilizing multiple teaching strategies through transdisciplinary collaborations is recommended to enhance hospital nurses' readiness for disaster response. Nursing leaders should consider incorporating such a structured DMTP into ongoing nursing training as a critical component of professional development programs, thereby strengthening nurses' disaster readiness in hospital settings. Objective. Due to various long‐term consequences of the disease, cancer survivors (CS) can experience incompatibilities between areas of life (work, family, household, leisure time, and disease) that can be associated with reduced satisfaction with these areas of life. To be able to assess such incompatibilities quantitatively, a six‐item instrument (INCOMPAT‐CS) was developed and psychometrically evaluated. Methods. Based on relevant theories, a multidisciplinary team developed the items of the INCOMPAT‐CS. Descriptive analyses, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, as well as validity and reliability assessments were conducted using survey data from n = 293 CS collected as part of the CARES study. Incompatibilities between areas of life were measured with the newly developed INCOMPAT‐CS instrument. Results. A one component solution with satisfactory model fit (normed χ2 = 1.90, RMSEA = 0.06, CFI = 0.99, and TLI = 0.97) was identified in exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses. The INCOMPAT‐CS demonstrated acceptable internal consistency (Cronbach's α = 0.790) and high test‐retest reliability ρ = 0.569 (p < 0.001). Convergent validity could be demonstrated (CR = 0.858 and AVE = 0.506). Hypothesis‐consistent correlations with role and social functioning measures further indicate convergent validity. Conclusions. The INCOMPAT‐CS is useful to assess incompatibilities among areas of life in CS quantitatively. Moreover, it helps to reveal the areas negatively affected due to incompatibilities. This short instrument can be useful in aftercare or psychosocial support interventions to detect incompatibilities and work towards reducing them as a consequence to increase CS' wellbeing. Permanent supportive housing (PSH) is the main approach advocated in Western countries for eradicating homelessness. Considering that PSH residents are not a homogeneous group and that their quality of life (QoL) and community integration (CI) might differ in this setting, improving our understanding of these residents' profiles may help stakeholders formulate informed recommendations to improve PSH. This study identified PSH resident profiles based on their QoL, CI, and sociodemographic and clinical characteristics and associated these profiles with housing features and service use. A total of 308 PSH residents were recruited in Montreal (Canada) in 2020–2022. Structured interviews were conducted. PSH resident profiles were produced with cluster analysis and subsequently compared using chi‐square, Fisher's, and t‐tests, taking into account housing features and service use. Three PSH resident profiles were found. Profile 1 residents (22% of the sample) had low QoL and CI, were younger, and had major social and health issues and unmet needs. Showing moderate QoL and CI, Profile 2 residents (27%) were more educated, had little foster care history, were older on their first homelessness episode, and had few co‐occurring MD‐SUD. Profile 3 residents (51%) had the best QoL and CI and mostly included men with little education, affected by co‐occurring MD‐SUD and satisfied with services. More intensive housing support and care coordination may be recommended for Profile 1 PSH residents in response to their diverse needs. Work integration may be beneficial to Profile 2 residents, with programs such as Individual Placement and Support, along with increased rehabilitation activities. A better integration of MD‐SUD treatments may be promoted for Profile 3 residents. Considering most PSH residents had multiple health issues and unmet needs, satisfaction with care could be monitored better, as it was found to be a key variable in measuring care adequation. Aims. This study aimed to analyze the effects of the surgery preparation time on patient outcomes. Background. Postoperative complications have a decisive effect on postoperative survival. The anesthesia time is a crucial determinant of such complications. Competent operating room nurses can shorten the surgery preparation time, which is the time from when anesthesia is first administered to the making of the surgical incision. The shortening of this preparation time can shorten the anesthesia time and may reduce postoperative complications. However, discussion of this preparation time is insufficient. Therefore, this study analyzed the effect of the surgery preparation time on patient outcomes. Methods. From electronic health records data, this retrospective cohort study used the data of 1,944 patients who had been immediately admitted to the ICU after their surgery between 2017 and 2020. The patients were divided into two groups: ≥30 minutes preparation time and <30 minutes preparation time groups. We performed chi-squared tests and t-tests to determine differences in preoperation, intraoperation, and postoperation characteristics of the patients and patient outcomes based on the surgery preparation time. Furthermore, we performed a multiple logistic regression by including 12 adjusted variables to determine the influence of the surgery preparation time on patient outcomes. Results. Among the 1,944 patients, 820 were in the ≥30 minutes preparation time group and 1,124 in the <30 minutes preparation time group. The multiple logistic regression analysis showed that the surgery preparation time affects alertness (OR = 1.44; 95% CI: [1.09, 1.90]), ventilator application (OR = 1.32; 95% CI: [1.03, 1.70]), and length of stay in the ICU (OR = 1.69; 95% CI [1.16, 2.47]). Conclusions. The surgery preparation time affects postoperative patient outcomes. The competence of operating room nurses is the most essential aspect of the surgery preparation time. It is important to analyze operating room nurses' tasks, standardize the tasks, and educate nurses according to their experience level to reduce the surgery preparation time and improve patient outcomes. Objectives. To examine the effectiveness of a patient-family (carer) partnership intervention on the BP control, self-care and self-efficacy for hypertensive people, and dyadic-relationship quality, depressive and anxiety symptoms, and health-related quality of life for the family dyads (hypertensive people and family carers) in rural communities of mainland China. Design. A randomised controlled trial. Methods. A total of 110 family dyads were randomly recruited from village clinics and randomly allocated to the intervention group (n = 55) or control group (n = 55). Family dyads in the control group received usual care. In addition to the usual care, family dyads in the intervention group received the individual-based, five-session patient-family (carer) partnership intervention. The primary outcomes included SBP, DBP, and the proportion of people with normal controlled BP. EuroQol five-dimensional-five-level (EQ-5D-5L) was adopted to evaluate participants' health-related quality of life. Data were collected at the baseline (T0), one-month (T1), and three-month postintervention (T2). Generalised estimating equation model was adopted to test the study hypotheses on all study outcomes. Results. Compared with the control group, hypertensive people in the intervention group had a greater reduction in SBP by 10.10 mmHg and DBP by 4.66 mmHg and a larger proportion of people with normal BP at T2, as well as statistically significant improvements at T1 and T2 in dyadic relationship, self-care, antihypertensive drug-titration rate, anxiety symptoms, and health-related quality of life. The intervention also had statistically significant positive effects on family carer's dyadic relationship and health-related quality of life at T1 and T2. Conclusion. The patient-family (carer) partnership intervention has the potential to improve hypertensive people's BP control and family dyad's dyadic-relationship quality and mental health at short-to-medium term follow-ups. Introduction. Effective​ self-reporting of medication administration errors (MAEs) is crucial for patient safety globally, yet underreporting persists as a significant challenge, hindering policy interventions. Despite extensive studies on barriers to MAE reporting by nurses, limited attention has been given to this issue in Ghana. This study aimed to explore the reasons behind nurses' reluctance to report MAEs, contributing to a broader understanding of this critical issue. Methods. A cross-sectional study was conducted among registered nurses at two public health facilities in the Ashanti Region, Ghana. Self-administered questionnaires were distributed to 153 respondents using stratified and simple random sampling. Descriptive and inferential statistics, including chi-square and logistic regression, were employed to analyze 150 completed questionnaires using SPSS version 23, with a significance level set at P < 0.05. Results. The majority (60.7%) of nurses reported MAEs, primarily to the ward in-charge (72.0%) and documented in the incidence book (54.3%), while only 9% reported to patients. Reasons for nonreporting included fear of criticism (34.5%), litigation (19.5%), losing practice licenses (18.6%), and stigma (17.7%). Significant correlations were found between nurses' sociodemographic characteristics (age, marital status, years of practice, and rank) and their self-reporting of MAEs (P < 0.05). Conclusion. Despite high levels of self-reported MAEs among nurses, fear remains a pervasive barrier to reporting. Addressing the culture of blame, criticism, and stigma is imperative to enhance nurses' confidence in reporting MAEs globally, transcending geographical boundaries and fostering patient safety on a broader scale. Rationale. Recent studies have highlighted organizational issues, work stressors, and moral distress as prevalent problems among staff working within care services for older people, but factors influencing regulatory compliance in care services for older people are currently uncharted. Aims and Objectives. The aim of this exploratory study was to investigate how organizational factors, the clinical characteristics of the clients, and perceived organizational factors are associated with staff regulation noncompliance within home care services and service housing facilities. Methods. A self-report survey was sent to practical and registered nurses working in home care services and service housing in Finland in October 2021. The sample consisted of 352 home care and 555 service housing staff members. Separate models were calculated for home care services and service housing facilities. The data were analyzed using logistic regression models. CROSS reporting guidelines were followed. Results. The results show that in service housing facilities, higher numbers of disruptions, lower team autonomy, and working for a private employer increased the odds of regulation noncompliance. In home care services, higher numbers of visits during a day, higher numbers of disruptions, and lower team autonomy increased the odds of regulation noncompliance, while attending to clients requiring less resources decreased the odds of regulation noncompliance. Perceived lack of time and resources were influential factors in both contexts. Conclusion. Allocating more time to attend to tasks, ensuring adequate staffing, as well as supporting team autonomy, may increase regulation compliance within care services for older people. Purpose. Breast cancer is considered a huge health problem among women all over the world due to its increased mortality rate. Breast cancer deaths are decreased by 28–34% due to improvement in treatment and early detection. In order to detect breast cancer early and provide the best possible therapy, knowledge and awareness are essential. So, this study aimed to assess risk of breast cancer among nurses, the knowledge and practices of breast self-examination (BSE) and determine its barriers, and implement an educational program for them. Design. A quasiexperimental research design was used. Methods. This study was conducted at two university hospitals (main university hospital and woman's health hospital). A purposive sample of 280 nurses with age more than thirty-five years were included in the study using three tools, namely, structure interview questionnaire, breast cancer risk assessment tool, and a structured breast cancer knowledge and practice questionnaire. Nurses' knowledge and practices regarding breast cancer and BSE were first assessed and then they were provided with two educational courses covering theoretical and practical information. One month after the program ended, the nurses' knowledge and practices were assessed again. Results. About 3.2% of the participants have five years high risk of developing breast cancer according the risk assessment tool, the main barriers of do not do BSE did not find any symptoms and scared from finding any abnormality. There was a significant increase in knowledge and practice of breast self-examination posteducation compared to pre-education (73.2 and 98.2%, respectively). Also, there was a statistically significant difference between pre- and postprogram with a p value of 0.0001. Conclusion. This study concluded that 3.2% of the nurses with high risk of developing breast cancer needed a follow-up; more than half of them do not perform breast self-examination because they think that do not have any symptoms in the breast and the educational program with a significant effect on knowledge and practices of nurses. So, the researchers recommend the nurses need for an empowerment program and support by providing assistance in places of work as done free clinical examination and mammography by female specialist for privacy. A challenge in accurately identifying and classifying left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) is distinguishing it from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and Fabry disease. The reliance on imaging techniques often requires the expertise of multiple specialists, including cardiologists, radiologists, and geneticists. This variability in the interpretation and classification of LVH leads to inconsistent diagnoses. LVH, HCM, and Fabry cardiomyopathy can be differentiated using T1 mapping on cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). However, differentiation between HCM and Fabry cardiomyopathy using echocardiography or MRI cine images is challenging for cardiologists. Our proposed system named the MRI short-axis view left ventricular hypertrophy classifier (MSLVHC) is a high-accuracy standardized imaging classification model developed using AI and trained on MRI short-axis (SAX) view cine images to distinguish between HCM and Fabry disease. The model achieved impressive performance, with an F 1 -score of 0.846, an accuracy of 0.909, and an AUC of 0.914 when tested on the Taipei Veterans General Hospital (TVGH) dataset. Additionally, a single-blinding study and external testing using data from the Taichung Veterans General Hospital (TCVGH) demonstrated the reliability and effectiveness of the model, achieving an F 1 -score of 0.727, an accuracy of 0.806, and an AUC of 0.918, demonstrating the model's reliability and usefulness. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the well-being of older adults has been highlighted as a significant public health concern. In this study, we investigated the role of psychological resilience in mediating the relationship between positive self-perceptions of aging (SPA) and the subjective well-being (SWB) of community-dwelling older adults in Taiwan during the pandemic. We collected data through face-to-face interviews conducted from October 2021 to February 2022, involving 1,095 participants aged 50 years or above residing in a southern city in Taiwan. More than half of the study participants were female, aged 65 or older, and had less than a high school education. More than two thirds were married and/or living with partners. More than a third had two or more noncommunicable diseases. We calculated scores for SWB, positive SPA, and psychological resilience and examined correlations among the outcome and predictor variables. Our findings indicated that higher positive SPA was significantly associated with better SWB among community-dwelling older adults in Taiwan and that this association was mediated by psychological resilience. Specifically, after controlling for covariates, structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis revealed a significant main effect of positive SPA on SWB (b = 0.412, β = 0187, and p < 0.001), while bootstrap mediation analysis showed a statistically significant indirect mediating effect from positive SPA on SWB via psychological resilience (0.597, 95% bootstrap CIs = [0.445, 0.749], and p < 0.001). These findings highlight the potential importance of cultivating positive self-perceptions of aging and implementing resilience-centered interventions to promote well-being among Chinese older adults in the community. Background. The mnemonic learning method is a systematic approach that helps nursing students memorize new information more effectively, productively, and easily by connecting new information with existing information and exploring unfamiliar information through visual images or combinations of letters and words. While mnemonics can help students remember specific information, it is essential to examine how well they facilitate the transfer of learning to real-world nursing practice. Aim. To investigate the effect of the mnemonic learning strategy on critical care nursing students' tracheal suction skill acquisition and learning satisfaction. Methods. A quasi-experimental research design was used. A total of 280 second-year nursing students enrolled in critical care and emergency nursing courses were recruited. These students were assigned to study and control groups. The study group used a mnemonic learning strategy to recall the steps involved in the tracheal suction procedure, while the control group used the traditional learning strategy. Two tools were used for data collection: the tracheal suction procedure checklist and learning satisfaction scale. Comparisons between both groups regarding their performance and satisfaction scores were done. Results. Performance scores regarding the tracheal suction procedure were significantly higher in the study group than in the control group in the 5th, 6th, and 10th weeks (P < 0.001 , <0.001, and <0.001). A total of 70.6% of the participants in the study group reported high satisfaction using the mnemonic learning experience. Conclusion. Using a mnemonic learning strategy with critical care nursing students was effective. Participants in the study group exhibited improvement in their tracheal suction procedure scores over time. Background. Developing client self-advocacy is in occupational therapy's (OT) scope of practice; however, there is limited understanding of if, or how, occupational therapists learn about self-advocacy interventions as well as implement self-advocacy into clinical practice. Objective. This study sought to identify if and how therapists learn about self-advocacy intervention approaches and identify if and how therapists implement self-advocacy into their work with clients. Method. A survey was distributed via email to academic and professional listservs in the United States, and data were collected using REDCap survey software. Descriptive statistics were analyzed data using REDCap/SPSS. Comparative statistics, Kruskal-Wallis's tests, Chi-square tests for independence, and Pearson's correlation tests analyzed differences across groups of respondents. Results. Practicing and licensed occupational therapists (n = 138) across the United States completed the survey. Findings indicate a majority (59.5%) of occupational therapists not learning strategies for addressing or developing client self-advocacy. Of significance, 21.7% of participants had never been exposed to concepts of client self-advocacy in academic or clinical education. Practitioners who did address self-advocacy did so indirectly through teaching-related skills (76.6%). Conclusion. Many clients of OT will need self-advocacy skills in order to address issues of exclusion and discrimination that prohibit full participation in society. Background. To investigate the effectiveness of prehabilitation in improving physical and nutritional status in patients undergoing gastric cancer resection. Methods. A total of 136 locally advanced gastric cancer patients who planned to undergo neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) plus transabdominal radical surgery were involved. All participants were divided into the prehabilitation group and the control group using the odd-even method, with 68 cases in each group. Intervention consisted of preoperative exercise and nutrition optimization. Participants were adults awaiting elective gastric resection for cancer. The primary outcomes were changes in functional ability and nutritional status, as measured by relative changes in 6 minute walking distance (6MWD) and scores on the albumin and prealbumin. Preoperative (end of the prehabilitation period) and postoperative (from 4 to 6 weeks after surgery) data were compared between the two groups. Results. All 136 patients were randomized in this study. Compared with the control group, the prehabilitation group exhibited improved functional capacity both before surgery (6MWD change) and after surgery. Furthermore, it demonstrated significantly higher levels of albumin and prealbumin before and after surgery than the control group. Conclusion. Prehabilitation in gastric cancer patients can improve preoperative functional capacity and nutritional status. Background. Haematology nurses in Singapore experience a highly stressful work environment and increased workload due to the growing number of patients and complex treatment regimens. High job demands can lead to burnout and high staff turnover rates, which compromises the quality of patient care. Aims. To assess perceived work demands, levels of social support from colleagues, professional quality of life (ProQOL), and turnover intentions among haematology nurses and examine whether demographic and occupational characteristics, perceived job demands, and support were associated with ProQOL and turnover intentions. Design. A descriptive, correlational, and cross-sectional design was used in this study. Methods. A convenience sample of 60 haematology nurses working at a tertiary hospital in Singapore completed a self-administered survey. Perceived job demands, support from colleagues, ProQOL, and turnover intentions were measured using the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire (COPSOQ III), Professional Quality of Life Scale version 5 (ProQOL5), and Turnover Intention Scale (TIS-6). Descriptive statistics, chi-square test, and multiple linear regressions were employed for data analysis. Results. Haematology nurses face high cognitive and emotional demands and receive high levels of support from colleagues at work. The majority of the participants reported moderate to high levels of compassion satisfaction (78.3%), burnout (76.7%), and secondary traumatic stress (81.7%). 53.3% of the participants expressed their intention to leave. Perceived job demands were significant predictors of haematology nurses' ProQOL and turnover intentions. Compassion fatigue also significantly predicts turnover intentions. Conclusion. The high levels of burnout and secondary traumatic stress reported by haematology nurses highlight an urgent need to implement strategies to help nurses cope with the high work demands and reduce their levels of compassion fatigue. Implications for Nursing Management. The findings in this study can help nursing leaders understand haematology nurses' perceived job demands and ProQOL, to develop strategies to improve the workplace environment and retention. Background. Few studies have analyzed the negative outcomes of disruptive behaviors in the nurse-physician relationship in patient care and their impact on patient safety. These multicausal studies significantly relate to organizational, institutional, and professional attitudinal risk factors. Aim. Analyze healthcare professionals' perceptions of disruptive behavior and factors associated with patient safety climate in the nurse-physician relationship at the hospital level. Methods. A multicenter cross-sectional study was conducted with a sample of 370 nurses and physicians assigned to different public hospitals in the Murcia/Spain region, applying the adapted and validated Spanish version of the Nurse-Physician Relationship Scale: Impact of Disruptive Behavior on Patient Care. The analysis used proportions or means (standard deviation (SD)), univariate and multivariate linear regression models, and the chi-square test. Results. Disruptive behavior was more prevalent in the ICU (81.6%) and the emergency department (67.8%). Professionals indicate that fear of reprisals is the main barrier to the reporting system. Likewise, stress and frustration are more associated with disruptive behavior and influence the safety climate. Conclusion. Professionals indicate that disruptive behaviors can have a negative impact on clinical outcomes. Age and type of service were identified as the most relevant socio-occupational factors.
