More cases of GBS have been reported after SARS-CoV-2 infection than after vaccination; the benefits of SARS-CoV-2 vaccination outweigh the potential adverse effects for nearly all patients. The patient had received his childhood vaccinations without adverse effects, but this had been his first vaccination against influenza and he did not have any further vaccinations until the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.
