This study investigates the influence of renewable energy rebates on the quality of the environment in Australia, with a specific emphasis on premium feed-in tariffs and renewable energy target policy. Using econometric modelling, this study demonstrates that premium feed-in tariffs have a notable long-term impact on reducing carbon emissions, albeit there are difficulties in the short run. On the contrary, the renewable energy target policy regularly demonstrates efficacy in both the short and long run. In addition, external factors, including the China-Australia trade dispute and COVID-19 disruptions, introduce heterogeneity in the outcomes of these policies by influencing supply chains and international collaborations related to renewable energy technologies. The aforementioned findings provide valuable insights for policymakers, underscoring the importance of developing well-thought-out policies that strike a balance between short-term advantages and long-term environmental advantages. This study highlights the significant contribution of effectively designed rebates for renewable energy in Australia's pursuit of a more environmentally conscious future, emphasising the importance of such incentives in promoting ecological integrity and ensuring enduring viability. Global warming and the rapid depletion of natural assets have made many countries anxious to find green growth strategies, including global partnerships and international business. China has positioned itself as the right partner for sustainable growth and development in Africa through different engagement routes. In this study, we employ fixed effects on a sample of 27 countries over 17 years to examine the impact of China's foreign direct investment and trade on green growth in Africa. Our results show that China's investment and trade affect green growth differently. We find that foreign direct investment and export have a negative impact on green growth. Contrarily, we find importation from China to increase green growth. Our results suggest that the growing presence of China in Africa through direct investment and exportation of natural resources is likely to hamper achieving the Sustainable Development Growth goals. However, countries can harness some benefits from importing sustainable products from China. Our study extends the green growth literature and informs policymakers of the need to pay attention to the effects of growing Chinese‐Africa engagement on attaining sustainable and greener growth. Given its versatility, energy security's importance to economic growth cannot be overstated. Existing empirical research has not, however, taken into account the significance of energy security in achieving sustainable economic and financial development. The objective of this study is to provide an empirical response to the question, "How can we exploit energy potentials without compromising the sustainable development agenda?". Our research indicates that energy security enhances economic and financial sustainability. However, the influence varies between quantiles. Initially, energy security inhibited sustainable economic development; this may have been due to excessive reliance on fossil fuel as a source of energy generation; however, the energy transition to renewable energy mitigated this negative impact, thereby fostering sustainable economic development. Likewise, energy security promotes long‐term sustainable financial development. Energy security is the heart of sustainable economic and financial development hence, the need for diversification of energy sources by promoting the adoption of renewable energy technologies became necessary. Encourage investments in solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, and other renewable sources to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and mitigate environmental impacts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
