1. A multi-band study of pulsar glitches with Fermi-LAT and Parkes

Abstract: Pulsar glitch is a phenomenon characterized by abrupt changes in the spin period over less than a minute. We present a comprehensive analysis of glitches in four gamma-ray pulsars by combining the timing observation data of \textit{Fermi} Large Area Telescope (\textit{Fermi}-LAT) and Parkes 64 m radio telescope. The timing data of five pulsars, namely PSRs J1028$-$5819, J1420$-$6048, J1509$-$5850, J1709$-$4429 (B1706$-$44) and J1718$-$3825, spanning over 14 years of observations for each, are examined. A total of 12 glitches are identified in four pulsars, including a previously unreported glitch. That is, a new small glitch is identified for PSR J1718$-$3825 in MJD $\sim$ 59121(8), and the fractional glitch size was $\Delta \nu/\nu \sim 1.9(2) \times 10^{-9}$. For PSR J1420$-$6048, our investigation confirms the existence of two linear recovery terms during the evolution of $\dot{\nu}$ subsequent to glitches 4, 6 and 8, and identified an exponential recovery process in glitch 8, with $Q = 0.0131(5)$, $\tau_{\rm d} = 100(6)$ d. Regarding the fourth glitch of PSR J1709$-$4429, our analysis reveals the presence of two exponential recovery terms with healing parameters and decay time-scales $Q$1=0.0104(5), $\tau_{\rm d1}=72(4)$ d and $Q$2 = 0.006(1), $\tau_{\rm d2}=4.2(6)$ d, respectively. For the remaining previously reported glitches, we refine the glitch epochs and glitch observables through precise fitting of the timing residual data. We extensively discuss how multi-band data of glitches can help better characterize the glitch recoveries and constrain the underlying physics of glitch events. We demonstrate that the accumulation of observational data reveals the rich complexity of the glitch phenomenon, aiding in the search for a well-established interpretation., Comment: 16 pages, 8 figures, 7 tables

2. A Series of (Net) Spin-down Glitches in PSR J1522-5735: Insights from the Vortex Creep and Vortex Bending Models

Abstract: Through a detailed timing analysis of $\textit{Fermi}$-LAT data, the rotational behavior of the $\gamma$-ray pulsar PSR J1522$-$5735 was tracked from August 2008 (MJD 54692) to January 2024 (MJD 60320). During this 15.4-year period, two over-recovery glitches and four anti-glitches were identified, marking a rare occurrence in rotation-powered pulsars (RPPs). The magnitudes of these (net) spin-down glitches were determined to be $|\Delta\nu_{\rm g}/\nu| \sim 10^{-8}$, well above the estimated detectability limit. For the two over-recovery glitches, the respective recovery fractions $Q$ are $2.1(7)$ and $1.4(2)$. Further analysis showed no substantial variations in either the flux or pulse profile shape in any of these events, suggesting that small (net) spin-down glitches, unlike large events observed in magnetars and magnetar-like RPPs, may occur without leaving an impact on the magnetosphere. Within the framework of the vortex creep and vortex bending models, anti-glitches and over-recoveries indicate the recoupling of vortex lines that moved inward as a result of a crustquake; meanwhile, the apparent fluctuations in the spin-down rate after the glitches occur as a result of the coupling of the oscillations of bent vortex lines to the magnetosphere., Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures, 2 tables, submitted to ApJL. 3. Broadband noise and quasi-periodic oscillation characteristics of the X-ray pulsar RX J0440.9+4431

Abstract: We present a comprehensive timing analysis on the Be/X-ray binary pulsar RX J0440.9+4431 using observations from \textit{NICER} and \textit{Insight}-HXMT during the 2022--2023 outburst. The power density spectrum (PDS) of RX J0440.9+4431 exhibits typical aperiodic variability in X-ray flux across a wide frequency range. During a super-critical accretion state, we detect quasi-periodic oscillations (QPOs) at 0.2--0.5\,Hz in the light curves of five pulses for RX J0440.9+4431. The observed QPOs manifest during flares, while the flares appear at the peaks of the pulse profiles on a timescale of seconds and are primarily caused by an increase in hard photons. These flares can be explained by increased material ingestion in the accretion column at a fixed phase, primarily generating hard photons. Alternatively, an increase in accretion rate, independent of phase, may result in highly beamed hard photons within the accretion column, causing the flares. We argue the origin of QPOs to instabilities within the accretion flow. Additionally, we find that the break frequencies in the noise power spectra align well with $\propto L_{\mathrm{x}}^{3 / 7}$ across three orders of magnitude in the luminosity, which points to a relatively strong magnetic field in RX J0440.9+4431, estimated to be \textasciitilde$10^{13}$\,G., Comment: 8 pages, 7 figures. 4. Pulsed Iron line Emission from the First Galactic Ultraluminous X-ray Pulsar Swift J0243.6+6124

Abstract: We report the phase-resolved spectral results of the first Galactic Pulsating Ultra-Luminous X-ray source (PULX) Swift J0243.6+6124, modeling at its 2017-2018 outburst peak using data collected by the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT). The broad energy coverage of Insight-HXMT allows us to obtain more accurate spectral continuum to reduce the coupling of broad iron line profiles with other components. We use three different continuum spectrum models but obtain similar iron line results. For the first time, we detected the pulse characteristics of the broad iron line in a PULX. The variation in width and intensity of this iron line with $\sigma \sim 1.2-1.5$\,keV has a phase offset of about 0.25 from the pulse phase. We suggest that the uneven irradiation of the thick inner disk by the accretion column produces the modulated variation of the broad iron line. In addition, the non-pulsed narrow line is suggested to come from the outer disk region.

5. Pulse profile variability associated with the glitch of PSR J1048$-$5832

Abstract: PSR J1048$-$5832 (B1046$-$58) is a Vela-like pulsar that has exhibited multiple glitch events. In this study, we analyze the timing data spanning nearly 16 years, acquired from both the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope and the Parkes 64 m radio telescope. As a result, a total of five glitches are detected within this dataset. Among them, a previously unknown small glitch is newly found at MJD 56985(9) (November 24, 2014), making it the smallest glitch recorded from this source so far. The increments of the spin frequency and its first derivative are $\Delta \nu \approx 2.2(3) \times 10^ {-8} $ Hz, and $\Delta \dot{\nu} \approx 3(2) \times 10^ {-15}$ s$^{-2}$, respectively. Significant changes in the integrated normalized mean pulse profile are detected following three of the five glitch events, notably in the radio band. Although no evidence of a correlation is found between the spin-down rate and profile evolution, the jump phenomenon of $W_{55}$ (pulse width at the 55% peak amplitude) after the glitch in the narrow mode suggests that the glitch may influence the profile change. We discuss the influence of glitches on the pulsar's emission properties in terms of platelet motion by a crustquake and also put constraints on the equation of state from the moment of inertia and response timescales of involved superfluid layers inside the neutron star., Comment: 14 pages, 7 figures, 6 tables, MNRAS (2024) accepted

Abstract: RX J0440.9+4431, a Be/X-ray binary, had its brightest outburst in 2022 since its discovery, with a peak X-ray flux of 2.25 Crab (as recorded by Swift/BAT, 15-50 keV). We analyze the timing properties of this giant outburst using data from Insight-HXMT and NICER, focusing on the evolution of the pulse profile and pulse fraction. We observe that when the luminosity reached around ~ 3*10^{37} er s^{-1}, a transition from double-peaked to single-peaked pulse profiles occurred across the energy range, with the peak of the low-energy profile aligning gradually with the peak of the high-energy profile. This change indicates a transition from subcritical to supercritical accretion. Additionally, we found a concave in the pulse fraction as a function of energy around 20-30 keV throughout the entire outburst period. Compared to the low luminosity, the concave becomes weaker in high luminosities, and overall, the pulse fraction is higher. We propose that this concave could be caused by the scattering of high-energy photons by the atmosphere of a neutron star, leading to a dilution of the pulse fraction. 7. Detection of a strong ~2.5 Hz modulation in the Newly Discovered Millisecond Pulsar MAXI J1816-195

Abstract: MAXI J181-195 is a newly discovered accreting millisecond X-ray pulsar that went outburst in June 2022. Through timing analysis with NICER and NuSTAR observations, we find a transient modulation at ~2.5 Hz during the decay period of MAXI J1816-195. The modulation is strongly correlated with a spectral hardening, and its fractional rms amplitude increases with energy. These results suggest that the modulation is likely to be produced in an unstable corona. In addition, the presence of the modulation during thermonuclear bursts indicates that it may originate from a disk-corona where the optical depth is likely the main factor affecting the modulation, rather than temperature. Moreover, we find significant reflection features in the spectra observed simultaneously by NICER and NuSTAR, including a relativistically broadened Fe-K line around 6-7 keV, and a Compton hump in the 10-30 keV energy band. The radius of the inner disc is constrained to be Rin = (1.04-1.23) RISCO based on reflection modeling of the broadband spectra. Assuming that the inner disc is truncated at the magnetosphere radius, we estimate that the magnetic field strength is < 4.67 * 10e8 G., Comment: 12 pages, 13 figures

Hypoxia can be involved in HCC tumor growth, invasion and metastasis through inducing angiogenesis. Nevertheless, the assessment of the impact of hypoxia and angiogenesis on the prognosis of HCC remains inadequate.Methods: According to hypoxia-angiogenesis-related genes (HARGs) expression information and clinical data from patients within the Cancer Genome Atlas-Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma (TCGA-LIHC) cohort, we constructed a prognostic model (HARG-score) using bioinformatic tools. In addition to assessing the predictive ability of this prognostic model in both Liver Cancer-Riken-Japan (LIRI-JP) and GSE14520 cohorts, we analyzed the correlation between HARG-score and clinical characteristics, immune infiltration and immunotherapy efficacy. Moreover, we investigated the exact role and underlying mechanism of key HARGs through molecular experiments.Results: We constructed a 5-gene prognostic model HARG-score consisting of hypoxia-inducible lipid droplet-associated (HILPDA), erythropoietin (EPO), solute carrier family 2 member 1 (SLC2A1), proteasome subunit alpha type 7 (PSMA7) and cAMP responsive element-binding protein 1 (CREB1) through differentially expressed HARGs. The findings demonstrated that HARG-score was a good predictor of the prognosis of HCC patients from distinct cohorts and was correlated with clinical characteristics and immune infiltration. Furthermore, the HARG-score was identified as an independent prognostic factor. Lower HARG-score implied greater immunotherapy efficacy and better response. The expression and prognostic significance of these 5 genes were additionally validated in clinical data. In addition, experimental data revealed that the key gene HILPDA contributes to the progression of HCC through facilitating angiogenesis and affecting the expression of cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (CTLA4).Conclusion: HARG-score has promising applications in prognosis prediction of HCC patients, in which HILPDA may be a latent prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target, providing a foundation for further research and treatment of HCC.Keywords: hepatocellular carcinoma, hypoxia-angiogenesis, HILPDA, prognosis, immunotherapy efficacy

The aim of this study was to investigate the ED90s and efficacy ratio of phenylephrine and norepinephrine in managing spinal anesthesia-induced hypotension in women with preeclampsia during cesarean delivery.Methods: 60 women with preeclampsia, who underwent cesarean delivery, were randomly assigned to receive either a continuous intravenous infusion of phenylephrine or norepinephrine following spinal anesthesia. The initial dosage of phenylephrine or norepinephrine for the first women was 0.5 or 0.05 μg/kg/min, respectively, and subsequent infusion dosages were adjusted based on their efficacy in preventing spinal anesthesia-induced hypotension (defined as a systolic blood pressure less than 80% of the baseline level). The incremental or decremental doses of phenylephrine or norepinephrine were set at 0.1 or 0.01 μg/kg/min. The primary outcomes were the ED90s and efficacy ratio of phenylephrine and norepinephrine infusions for preventing spinal anesthesia-induced hypotension prior to delivery.Results: The results obtained from isotonic regression analysis revealed that the ED90 values of the phenylephrine and norepinephrine group for preventing spinal anesthesia-induced hypotension were 0.597 (95% CI: 0.582– 0.628) and 0.054 (95% CI: 0.053– 0.056) μg/kg/min, respectively, with an efficacy ratio of 11.1:1. The results of Probit regression analysis revealed that the ED90 values were determined to be 0.665 (95% CI: 0.576– 1.226) and 0.055 (95% CI: 0.047– 0.109) μg/kg/min, respectively, with an efficacy ratio of 12.1:1.Conclusion: The administration of 0.6 μg/kg/min phenylephrine and 0.05 μg/kg/min norepinephrine has been found to effectively manage a 90% incidence of spinal anesthesia-induced hypotension in women with preeclampsia.Keywords: ED90, phenylephrine, norepinephrine, spinal anesthesia-induced hypotension, preeclampsia, cesarean delivery

Multivariate logistic regression was conducted to explore the correlation of eleven urinary phthalate metabolites (MCNP, MCOP, MECPP, MnBP, MCPP, MEP, MEHHP, MEHP, MiBP, MEOHP, and MBzP) with COPD, airflow obstruction and respiratory symptoms. Linear regression analyses were used to evaluate the relationship between urinary phthalate metabolites and lung function.Results: When compared to the first tertile, the third tertile of MEHHP was associated with the risk of COPD [OR: 2.779; 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.129– 6.840; P = 0.026]. Stratified analysis showed that MEHHP increased the risk of COPD by 7.080 times in male participants. Both MCPP and MBzP were positively correlated with the risk of airflow obstruction. The third tertile of MBzP increased the risk of cough by 1.545 (95% CI: 1.030– 2.317; P = 0.035) times. Both FEV1 and FVC were negatively associated with MEHHP, MECPP, MnBP, MEP, MiBP and MEOHP.Conclusion: Higher levels of MEHHP are associated with increased risk of COPD, and lower measures of FEV1 and FVC. Relevant information and medical records of these participants were collected, including age, sex, cigarette smoking, alcoholism, diabetes mellitus (DM), hypertension, coronary heart disease (CHD), cirrhosis, occupation, ascites, HBV-DNA load, the qualitative analysis of HBsAg, HBsAb, HBeAg, HBeAb, and HBcAb serological markers, and levels of alanine transaminase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), total bilirubin (TBIL), direct bilirubin (DBIL), gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT), TNM stage, tumor size and tumor number. The T test, Chi-square test, non-parametric rank-sum test, logistic regression analyses were used to explore the influencing factors and their degree of association with HCC in patients with HBV.Results: The proportion of smoking, alcoholism, married status, DM, hypertension, and the rate of HBV-DNA with a viral load of ≥ 500 copies/mL were significantly higher in the HCC group than in the controls (all p< 0.05). Cirrhosis was more common among patients with CHB+HCC than in controls (p=0.013). The proportion of patients with HBsAg, HBeAb, and HBcAb positive was greater in CHB+HCC group than that in CHB group. Logistic regression analysis indicated that age ≥ 60 years (OR: 1.835, 95% CI: 1.020– 3.302, p=0.043), HBeAb positive (OR: 9.105, 95% CI: 4.796– 17.288, p< 0.001), antiviral treatment with entecavir (OR: 2.209, 95% CI: 1.106– 4.409, p=0.025), and GGT (OR: 1.004, 95% CI: 1.001– 1.007, p=0.002) were risk factors for HCC in patients with CHB.Conclusion: Advanced age, HBeAb positive, antiviral treatment with entecavir, and GGT were independent risk factors for HCC in HBV patients.Keywords: chronic hepatitis B, hepatocellular carcinoma, cirrhosis, hepatitis B virus

Semi-structured questionnaires were utilized, and online interviews were conducted. Forty medical students were selected as participants for the interviews. The interview data were analyzed using Colaizzi’s seven-step analysis method.Results: The study identified five themes related to the psychological reactions of medical students during the pandemic. Firstly, COVID-19’s influence on medical careers was characterized by increased interest and determination in pursuing medical professions, heightened admiration for frontline workers, reinforced commitment to a medical career due to the pandemic, and recognition of the significance of medical education. Secondly, challenges and concerns in medical career pursuit were identified, including negative sentiments towards medical careers during COVID-19 and hesitations and concerns about entering the medical field amidst the pandemic. Thirdly, the impact on mental well-being encompassed diverse anxieties expressed by participants regarding control, transmission, treatment, and intentional spreading of the virus. Participants experienced an emotional progression from calmness to fear and anxiety, with heightened anxiety when relatives or acquaintances contracted COVID-19. Academic delays also contributed to anxiety among medical students. Fourthly, changes in behaviors and mindset were observed, including altered behaviors and mindset in response to the pandemic, as well as increased attention to personal hygiene and disease prevention measures. Lastly, expectations of medical students from government, public, and parents were explored.Conclusion: Understanding the psychological reactions of medical students during public health emergencies is crucial for their well-being and professional development. However, it is unclear whether ALDH2 polymorphism is associated with the risk of early onset (onset age ≤ 55 years old in men and ≤ 65 years old in women) coronary artery stenosis (CAS). The association between ALDH2 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) rs671 and risk in patients with early onset CAS was investigated in this study.Methods: The study included 213 early onset CAS patients and 352 individuals without CAS were set as controls. The ALDH2 rs671 polymorphism was genotyped by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) - microarray. Differences in ALDH2 rs671 genotypes and alleles between patients and controls were compared. Multiple logistic regression analysis was performed after adjusting for gender, body mass index (BMI), smoking history, drinking history, and diabetes mellitus to assess the relationship between ALDH2 rs671 genotypes and early onset CAS risk.Results: The frequency of the ALDH2 rs671 G/G genotype was lower in the early onset CAS patients (43.7% vs 55.3%, p=0.007) than that in the controls. The frequency of the ALDH2 rs671 A allele was higher (32.9% vs 25.0%) than that in the controls (p=0.005). After adjusting for other confounding factors, multivariate logistic regression showed that ALDH2 rs671 A/A genotype (A/A vs G/G: odds ratio (OR) 2.508, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.130– 5.569, p=0.024), overweight (BMI≥ 24.0 vs 18.5– 23.9: OR 5.047, 95% CI: 3.275– 7.777, p< 0.001), history of smoking (yes vs no: OR 2.813, 95% CI: 1.595– 4.961, p< 0.001), and diabetes mellitus (yes vs no: OR 2.191, 95% CI: 1.397– 3.437, p=0.001) were the independent risk factors of early onset CAS.Conclusion: In men ≤ 55 years old and women ≤ 65 years old, individuals with ALDH2 rs671 A/A genotype, overweight (BMI ≥ 24.0 kg/m2), smoking history, and diabetes mellitus increased risk of developing CAS.Keywords: aldehyde dehydrogenase 2, gene polymorphism, coronary artery stenosis, early onset

This study aims to investigate the molecular mechanisms in the B3GALT5-AS1-regulated keloid proliferation and invasion.Methods: Secondary mining of the lncRNA sequencing data from GSE158395 was conducted to screen differentially expressed lncRNAs between keloid and normal tissues. MTT, cell migration and invasion assays were performed to detect the effects of B3GALT5-AS1 on keloid fibroblasts (KFs) proliferation and metastasis. The extracellular acidification rate (ECAR) and oxygen consumption rate (OCR) were also determined to evaluate glycolysis in KFs. RNA pull-down and RNA-protein immunoprecipitation assays were used to confirm the interaction between B3GALT5-AS1 and Hu-Antigen R (HuR). Further ubiquitination and rescue experiments were performed to elucidate the regulatory relationship between B3GALT5-AS1 and HuR.Results: B3GALT5-AS1 was significantly down-regulated in keloid tissues and fibroblasts. B3GALT5-AS1 overexpression significantly inhibited KFs proliferation, glycolysis, invasion, and migration and promoted cell apoptosis, whereas silencing B3GALT5-AS1 inhibited these effects. Moreover, B3GALT5-AS1 binds to HuRand reduces its stability through β-Transducin repeats-containing protein 1 (β-Trcp1)-mediated ubiquitination. Overexpression of HuR reversed the inhibition of B3GALT5-AS1 on cell proliferation, migration, and invasion in KFs, where glycolysis pathway was involved.Conclusion: Our findings illustrate that B3GALT5-AS1 has great effect on inhibition of keloid formation, which provides a potential target for keloid therapy.Keywords: B3GALT5-AS1, keloid, fibroblast, HuR, β-Trcp1

18. Quantum-improved phase estimation with a displacement-assisted SU(1,1) interferometer

Abstract: By performing two local displacement operations (LDOs) inside an SU(1,1) interferometer, called as the displacement-assisted SU(1,1) [DSU(1,1)], both the phase sensitivity based on homodyne detection and quantum Fisher information (QFI) with and without photon losses are investigated in this paper. In this DSU(1,1) interferometer, we focus our attention on the extent to which the introduced LDO affects the phase sensitivity and the QFI, even in the realistic scenario. Our analyses show that the estimation performance of DSU(1,1) interferometer is always better than that of SU(1,1) interferometer without the LDO, especially the phase precision of the former in the ideal scenario gradually approaching to the Heisenberg limit via the increase of the LDO strength. More significantly, different from the latter, the robustness of the former can be enhanced markedly by regulating and controlling the LDO. This review examines the investigations into ASFs and their pathological behavior, which contributes to inflammatory microenvironments and abnormal bone formation. The review spans the period from 2000 to 2023, with a primary focus on the most recent decade. Additionally, the review provides an in-depth discussion on studies on ASF ossification at the cellular level.Recent Findings: ASFs organize immune functions by recruiting immune cells and influencing their differentiation and activation, thus mediate the inflammatory response in the early phase of disease. ASFs promote joint destruction at sites of cartilage and actively promote abnormal ossification by recruiting osteoblasts, differentiation into myofibroblasts or ossification directly. Many signaling pathways and cytokines such as Wnt signaling and BMP/TGF-β signaling are involved in ASF ossification.Summary: ASFs play a key role in AS inflammation and osteogenesis. Aerobic exercise is assured to positively regulate metabolism in the liver. This project was designed to investigate whether and how aerobic exercise improves DM-induced liver injury.Methods: Seven-week-old male db/db mice and age-matched m/m mice were randomly divided into a rest control group or a group that received 12 weeks of aerobic exercise by treadmill training (10 m/min). Haematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining, electron microscopy, Oil Red O staining and TUNEL assays were used to evaluate the histopathological changes in mouse liver. The serum levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), triglyceride (TRIG), cholesterol (CHOL) were analyzed by serum biochemical analysis. Interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and tissue levels of malondialdehyde (MDA) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) were analyzed via ELISA. Nuclear factor E2-associated factor-2 (Nrf2), nuclear factor κB (NF-κB) and JAK2/STAT3 pathway-related proteins were measured by immunofluorescence, Western blotting and q-PCR. F4/80 expression in liver tissues was assessed by immunohistochemistry.Results: In diabetic mice, exercise training significantly decreased the levels of serum TRIG, CHOL, IL-6, TNF-α, ALT and AST; prevented weight gain, hyperglycaemia, and impaired glucose and insulin tolerance. Morphologically, exercise mitigated the diabetes-induced increase in liver tissue microvesicles, inflammatory cells, F4/80 (macrophage marker) levels, and TUNEL-positive cells. In addition, exercise reduced the apoptosis index, which is consistent with the results for caspase-3 and Bax. Additionally, exercise significantly increased SOD activity, decreased MDA levels, activated Nrf2 and decreased the expression of NF-kB, phosphorylated JAK2 and STAT3 proteins in the livers of diabetic mice.Conclusion: This study demonstrated that aerobic exercise reversed liver dysfunction in db/db mice with T2DM by reducing oxidative stress, apoptosis and inflammation, possibly by enhancing Nrf2 expression and inhibiting the JAK2/STAT3 cascade response.Keywords: db/db mice, aerobic exercise, inflammation, apoptosis, Nrf2, JAK2/STAT3

However, transformation of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) to SCLC following treatment with immunotherapy is very rare. Here, we report a case of a 56-year-old patient diagnosed with driver gene mutation-negative lung squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). He received four cycles of immunotherapy with sugemalimab and chemotherapy with albumin paclitaxel in combination with carboplatin, and a partial response was achieved. Subsequently, the patient received 5 cycles of immunotherapy with sugemalimab. However, he developed rapid progression of mediastinal lymph nodes, and biopsy results showed transformation to SCLC. His tumor did not respond to the next line of carboplatin combined with etoposide, and he died six months after the discovery of SCLC transformation. In conclusion, SCLC transformation is also an important resistance mechanism for lung SCC patients treated with immunotherapy and predicts a very poor outcome. The questionnaire was developed by knowledge, attitudes, and practice (KAP) theory. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression were used for statistical analysis.Results: A total of 3180 nursing students and interns (effective rate: 99.8%) from six Chinese provinces were polled. The vaccine hesitation rate was 9.65% (307/3180), 2230 participants (70.1%) had gotten at least one dose of the vaccine, and 643 participants (67.7%) had indicated a readiness to be vaccinated. The results showed that older age, higher academic background, perfect vaccine management, others’ recommendations, influenza vaccination history, epidemic under control, knowledge of vaccines or intervals, and vaccine knowledge training were associated with higher vaccination rates. Conversely, vaccine hesitancy was caused by a perceived lack of physical need, uncertainty about vaccination requirements, and fear of vaccination.Conclusion: This study provided population-based estimates of COVID-19 vaccine uptake intention among mainland Chinese nursing students and interns. Factors such as age, education, vaccine knowledge, and attitudes influence COVID-19 vaccine behaviour. Abstract: We describe an analysis comparing the $p\bar{p}$ elastic cross section as measured by the D0 Collaboration at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV to that in $pp$ collisions as measured by the TOTEM Collaboration at 2.76, 7, 8, and 13 TeV using a model-independent approach. The TOTEM cross sections extrapolated to a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s} =$ 1.96 TeV are compared with the D0 measurement in the region of the diffractive minimum and the second maximum of the $pp$ cross section. The two data sets disagree at the 3.4$\sigma$ level and thus provide evidence for the $t$-channel exchange of a colorless, $C$-odd gluonic compound, also known as the odderon. All results were recorded and analyzed via Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS 22.0) software. t-test and Spearman rank correlation were used.Results: Compared to the control group, SSR of upper limbs in patients with AICVD showed prolonged latency, reduced amplitude, and disappeared waveform (p=0.000, p=0.015, p=0.004), No statistically significant difference was observed between the affected side and the healthy side (p=0.068, p=0.661). In the case group, the higher the abnormal rate of SSR, the more severe the neurological impairment (NIHSS and ADL scores) and the worse the long-term prognosis. Specific results are as follows: Firstly, the total abnormality rate of SSR, prolonged SSR latency were positively related to the NIHSS, also the ESRS (r=0.347, p=0.004; r=0.437, p< 0.001), (r=0.371, p=0.005; r=0.433, p=0.001), the reduced amplitude was positively related to the NIHSS (r=0.341, p=0.012) while the disappeared waveform was positively related to the ESRS (r=0.299, p=0.015); Secondly, the total abnormality rate of SSR, prolonged SSR latency and reduced amplitude were negatively related to the BI (r=− 0.346, p=0.004) (r=− 0.426, p=0.001) (r=− 0.316, p=0.020).Conclusion: There may be inhibition of sympathetic reflex activity in patients with AICVD, SSR abnormality rate in patients with AICVD may be correlated with the degree of neurological impairment and long-term prognosis.Keywords: acute ischemic cerebrovascular disease, AICVD, sympathetic skin response, SSR, autonomic nervous system, ANS

This study aimed to quantify the complex relationships between anthropometric indices and lipid profile.Methods: This is a cross-sectional study including 9620 participants in Southern China. Anthropometric indices included the indices of general obesity (ie, body mass index (BMI)) and central obesity (ie, waist circumference (WC) and waist-to-hip ratio (WHR)). Lipids included low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDLc) and atherogenic lipids (ie, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDLc), triglycerides (TG) and TG/HDLc ratio). LOESS regression and general linear model were the main statistical methods.Results: Almost all associations between anthropometric indices and lipids were lost in obese adults. The loss of association occurred quicker with LDLc than that with atherogenic lipids; the break point for the association loss was at BMI of 24 kg/m2 with LDLc (Slope Below break-point = 1.81, P< 0.001; Slope Above break-point = 0.29, P=0.121), while at 28 kg/m2 with HDLC (Slope Below break-point = − 1.41, P< 0.001; Slope Above break-point = 0.07, P=0.666) or TG (Slope Below break-point = 4.96, P< 0.001; Slope Above break-point = 2.93, P=0.01), and at 30 kg/m2 with TG/HDLc ratio (Slope Below break-point = 0.15, P< 0.001; Slope Above break-point= 0.01, P=0.936), respectively. Similar relationships were found for WC and WHR. Besides, the presence of other metabolic disorders contributed to the loss of anthropometry-lipids relationships, for example, the BMI-LDLc association attenuated to null in both obese adults and non-obese population but with more than one other metabolic disorders.Conclusion: The relationships were lost between anthropometric indices and lipids in obese adults with different break points across different lipids, which appeared to be dependent on metabolic status.Keywords: anthropometry, lipid profile, epidemiology

Unrelieved pain denies patients comfort and greatly affects their overall quality of life. Moxibustion is commonly used to manage chronic pain. However, its efficacy on cancer pain remains inconclusive. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of moxibustion for cancer pain.Methods: We searched seven databases to obtain articles about moxibustion combined with pharmacotherapy for cancer pain published before November 2022. All data extraction was carried out independently by two investigators. RevMan 5.4 software was used for data analysis.Results: A total of ten trials involving 999 cases were included. The results of the meta-analysis revealed that moxibustion combined with pharmacotherapy was significantly better than drug therapy alone in improving pain relief rate (RR =1.16, 95% CI = [1.04, 1.30], P = 0.01), reducing pain scores (SMD = − 1.43, 95% CI = [− 2.09, − 0.77], P < 0.0001), Shortening the onset of analgesia (MD = − 12.07, 95% CI = [− 12.91, − 11.22], P < 0.00001), prolonging the duration of analgesia (MD = 3.69, 95% CI = [3.21, 4.18], P < 0.00001), and improving quality of life (SMD = 2.48, 95% CI = [0.67, 4.29], P = 0.007). In addition, moxibustion combined with pharmacotherapy can effectively reduce adverse reactions of drugs (RR =0.35, 95% CI = [0.21, 0.57], P < 0.0001).Conclusion: The evidence in this review supports moxibustion as an effective adjuvant therapy for cancer pain management. Research on characteristics, disease burden, and treatment patterns in EM patients in China is limited.Methods: Data were drawn from an existing data set Adelphi Migraine DSP, a point-in-time survey conducted in China (January-June 2014). Internists/neurologists completed patient record forms for the next 9 patients who consulted them in clinical practice; these same patients completed the ‘patient self-completion questionnaires’. Descriptive analyses were used to assess key variables: patient demographics, treatment patterns (current acute and preventive medication [AM/PM]), effectiveness, issues with existing treatment, Migraine Disability Assessment (MIDAS) scores, and Work Productivity and Activity Impairment scores.Results: Total of 125 internists/neurologists provided data on 1113 patients with EM (headache days/month < 15). Mean (standard deviation [SD]) age was 43.8 (13.1) years; mean (SD) number of migraine days/month was 3.2 (1.7). AM was prescribed in 86.1% of patients (non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs [NSAIDs]: 62.7%; triptans: 7.7%), PM in 38.5%, and both in 24.9% of patients. Approximately 55% of patients experienced ≥ 1 issue with their current AM or PM. Migraine-related symptoms (including nausea, photophobia, and phonophobia) were fully controlled in < 50% of patients receiving NSAIDs (21.7– 38.4%) or triptans (32.4– 43.5%). Insufficient response to current AM (migraine headache fully resolved within 2 hours in ≤ 3/5 attacks) was reported by 42.5% of patients. Mild-to-severe disability was reported by 36.8% of patients with a mean (SD) MIDAS score of 5.8 (7.3). Overall, 58.0% of work time was impaired (including time missed and impairment while working).Conclusion: This analysis suggests, despite existing treatment options, disease burden and unmet medical needs remain substantial in Chinese patients with EM.Keywords: episodic migraine, clinical practice, patient-reported outcomes, real-world, disease burden

Abstract: Graph networks are a new machine learning (ML) paradigm that supports both relational reasoning and combinatorial generalization. Here, we develop universal MatErials Graph Network (MEGNet) models for accurate property prediction in both molecules and crystals. We demonstrate that the MEGNet models outperform prior ML models such as the SchNet in 11 out of 13 properties of the QM9 molecule data set. Similarly, we show that MEGNet models trained on 60 000 crystals in the Materials Project substantially outperform prior ML models in the prediction of the formation energies, band gaps, and elastic moduli of crystals, achieving better than density functional theory accuracy over a much larger data set. We present two new strategies to address data limitations common in materials science and chemistry. First, we demonstrate a physically intuitive approach to unify four separate molecular MEGNet models for the internal energy at 0 K and room temperature, enthalpy, and Gibbs free energy into a single free energy MEGNet model by incorporating the temperature, pressure, and entropy as global state inputs. Second, we show that the learned element embeddings in MEGNet models encode periodic chemical trends and can be transfer-learned from a property model trained on a larger data set (formation energies) to improve property models with smaller amounts of data (band gaps and elastic moduli).
